The family-run hotel was impressive its good location, its modern and always clean rooms and its comfortable beds. The range of delicious meals in the morning and evening was served in a very friendly manner by the courteous staff. There was also a free train station transfer on our arrival and departure. A clear recommendation :-)

Wonderful friendly family run Hotel. Great food and wine. Great value, very good 4 course dinner. Rooms are ok with balcony with superb views. Shuttle service to ski lifts in morning and walk down hill to hotel afterwards.

Very nice service. Some rooms have been renovated, some remember the old days, so it's worth choosing before booking. Overall a great place, very good food.

We decided to base our summer hiking trip in Wengen and chose this hotel. It was perfect. Pleasant and peaceful and the food was delicious. After a long day of hiking, we looked forward to coming back home to the hotel. I hope to stay there again on my next trip.

The staff, all of them - reception, concierge, restaurant, bar, cleaning and management staff are exceptionally friendly and wonderful at this lovely hotel. Guests can be picked up for free from the train station, although the hotel is only less than 5 minutes walk from the station. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, hotel Alpenrose Wengen is so beautiful, quiet, peaceful, friendly and close to everything else that the best of Swiss life has to offer. Food is excellent. The hotel is clean and all the facilities and amenities are sufficiently good. At the time of writing this review in February 2021 we're still happily staying at this beautiful hotel. Many thanks to all the wonderful staff for making our stay perfect! Highly recommended! 🙂

My fiance and I just finished a week holiday here and I just can't say enough about this place!! The two owners are husband and wife and they make a great team together. On our arrival we were greeted with the lovely ursela (the wife &co owner)and although food was finished in restaurants due to covid etc she went and made us a lovely sandwich late at night and made us some tea it was really lovely and she is the chef so the food is 5star standard this hotel is the best 3star ever!! The husband Daniel spent time with our group one of the nights and was a very kind man and you could just tell he took pide in his work and in the hotel, he spoke so highly of his beautiful wife and her cooking and really loves his dog too!! Daniel has many qualifications in different sectors so it was interesting to talk with him about his past, we were all very impressed at how well he runs the hotel as hospitality was not always his trade, coming from a background in hospitality I can say he is a natural and made our trip good fun!This hotel is a family run hotel and the attention to detail and guests is amazing we both felt really special all week and were looked after well. All the staff are happy and friendly and go out of their way to ensure a good stay. There is a family dog that the owners own and it really made our trip being able to play with him in the evening. This hotel is fun and loving and to a FANTASTIC standard! There is always a porter on hand to drop and collect you to the ski lift and this was so handy for us we really appreciated this service.Thank you kindly again to all the staff we WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!! We got a great deal for Chalet for two nights. The view was amazing, and chalet was really big, and comfortable. We also got a deal for a four-course dinner for 20 chf per person, which was quite good as well! Overall highly recommended!

I indeed loved everything about the hotel - the location was perfect, very centrally located, close to the train station, close to the trail path to Lauterbrunnen (a bigger city down the valley), the views are absolutely amazing from the balcony! The room has everything needed, very comfortable bed and pillows, nice wooden decorations that make it feel very warm and cozy - I loved coming back ‘home’ after hikes. As a single traveler I felt extremely comfortable at every breakfast and dinner, always being greeted by the hotel team members and the owners. The most amazing thing is how the hotel owners helped my fiancé to organize a cake and a card for my birthday! The owners went an extra mile to get the cake - and no kidding it was the best cake in my life! I truly felt like I’m staying at the private place rather than the hotel and it was more than I ever wanted. Food - absolutely delicious. Breakfast and dinners were exceptional, I couldn’t wait to wake up and go to have a breakfast and couldn’t wait to be back from hikes to get to the dinner. A friend of mine stayed at that hotel last week for three nights and I came to see him for a day. I had a look at his room and also the common areas and I was very pleased. After a wonderful day outside in the snow and before I had to go back home to Zurich we wanted to have dinner. And before that we both liked to get out of our thick and warm winter sport clothes and have a quick shower. My friend offered me to use his bathroom but because there was only one towel we went to the reception and asked for a second one. The reaction there was horrible. The lady first looked at me, then again at her reservation book and stated “the room is only booked for one person!” I confirmed that and told her that I will be leaving later but like to shower before going for their restaurant. In front of other guests she told me that this was an impertinent request to use her facility, as the room was only booked for one person. And she had never come across anything like that before. I must say that I felt very humiliated in that moment. The wonderful mood we both experienced during that day in this magnificent surrounding unfortunately was gone. And needles to mention we decided to eat at another restaurant. amazing wengen. i had a 1 person booking so it was cute. the hotel is not.in the central location where the stores are. it's at the opposite direction. about 8 minutes walk. if you are just arriving, you can arrange for the porter to come pick you up at the train station so you don't have to carry your luggage. i can see how it can become hard for those with large luggages. the hotel is chose though to the start of the hike down to lauterbrunnen. the hotel or most chalets are made of wood and people are wearing mostly big hiking boots so you can hear people walking and/or taking in the hallways. generally most people are kind enough to walk slowly or take off their shoes specially when dirty with grime. they provide you with treats outside your door so you can leave your boots out your door. the hotel has good food too. they offered me a set meal when i registered, im glad i did. it was great. almost everyone who was registered was there. they have a set time for dinner so everyone comes generally at the same time. tables are already pre reservered. I would definitely come again.
