Absolute no-go. Extremely unfriendly staff. After our last visit last year, which was great all around, we were happy to go back there today. However, this time we were greeted in probably the most unpleasant way. We were traveling in the camper and wanted to take our dog a few meters further to a small green area after the long drive. We were immediately shouted at by two employees that the parking lot was only for guests. Even after we explained that we planned to eat there in a minute, we continued to be treated very rudely. After this incident, we understandably didn't feel like spending our money there anymore (we love good food & we like to give a good tip, at least 10% - since we work/were in the catering industry ourselves). We then decided to go out to eat in the Morgarten restaurant. The service & food was phenomenal. The staff at Buechwaldli should definitely learn a lesson from this. Never again!

We only had one drink at Buechwäldli. The place is beautifully situated on Lake Ägeri near the Morgarten monument. The service was very friendly and attentive, we were given cushions for the chairs in the garden. The location directly above the main road spoils the overall impression a little, which is why it "only" gets 4 stars.

The bright and pretty restaurant Buechwäldli on Lake Ägerisee is a culinary pearl right below the Morgarten monument. From the extremely family-friendly CH team and the hospitable service to the white tablecloths and colorful dishes to the extremely finely cooked dishes from local waters - all of this was worth traveling from Zurich and indulging in these joys. I recommend the spicy beef tartare as a starter and the pike perch Moulin Rouge on spinach as a main course. My companion chose the butter-tender miller-style perch fillets with rice; She indulged in it just as heartily as she did with fresh apple pie for dessert. It was a fantastic trip to a little oasis of complete enjoyment.
