I found the food to be a bit carelessly prepared when you pay 40Fr for 150g of beef fillet and a portion of fries. I think that maybe you could garnish it with a few vegetables or something...

We've been going to Chnusperhüsli every now and then for years. It is impressive to see the consistently high performance of food quality and service. The ambience is very stylish with beautiful floral arrangements on the table. Price/performance is top. The garlic bread was outstanding.

After a short hike we went to Chnuschperhüsli to have coffee and dessert. Lots of choice of desserts, I would have preferred to order everything. The atmosphere is very warm, you felt very comfortable in the restaurant. The desserts were very, very tasty, I will order them again! We will definitely come back for dinner, the chicken in the Chörbli that was served at the neighboring table looked very tasty! The service staff was very friendly and accommodating!

We are thrilled with the Chnuschperhüsli! There were 6 of us yesterday and our dog was allowed to come too :-) The staff is very friendly and attentive, you felt very comfortable. The ambience is really nice, the restaurant looks very cozy thanks to the lots of warm light and the wood! But of course the highlight was the food. We were all very enthusiastic and will definitely come back. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Very nice restaurant, furnished with a lot of love. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and attentive. The children were also warmly welcomed and were immediately provided with pen and paper. I can highly recommend the fruit punch for the aperitif and the delicious garlic bread with it was the icing on the cake... We'll be back soon...

I work for a foundation for people with disabilities and would have liked to host our Christmas dinner for around 30 people in the restaurant. Unfortunately, my contact person was more interested in the type of disruption to our clientele than in the essentials, such as the menu composition. Of course we will choose a restaurant that, in my opinion, is more worthy.

ATTENTION From 8 people onwards, according to the owner, the following RULES apply: 1. no à la carte menu (a uniform menu must be found and ordered)! –> no special requests! 2. It must be decided in advance whether the 8 people would like to drink wine! 3. It must be decided in advance which wine the 8 people in question would like to drink together! 4. It must be decided in advance how EXACTLY how many bottles of wine the said 8 people will drink! 5. All drinks cannot be paid for on site after the event, but MUST be paid for by deposit! PS: We are talking about a small group of 8 people and not a group of 20 people or more. We have definitely decided on another restaurant where the guest is still king!

Well, I actually wanted to go eat with you at the chnusperhäuschen. But they emailed me an offer today and wrote in it that we have to pay EVERYTHING in advance or then afterwards via bank transfer. According to the phone call that took place, it was too time-consuming to collect the drinks separately in the evening!!! The second point is/was that I should have named the exact wine and the number of bottles today!!! But who knows exactly what they'll want to drink on a particular evening in two months?!?!? If a restaurateur is unable to take drinks on an evening and charge them separately, then he should probably change his job 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

My husband and I were able to celebrate our wedding on October 21st, 2023 in this wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere is very cozy, beautiful and absolutely homely. The playhouse right next door was great fun, really great games! The food is amazing, the portions are good and prepared with a lot of love, compliments to the kitchen! We also particularly liked the staff! They are ALL very lovable, hard-working, motivated, exceed all wishes and even created a nice surprise of their own accord with a song and sparklers in the presence of the entire staff. Very professional, fast and uncomplicated organization. Everything went according to plan and even exceeded it! They think ahead and do everything to ensure a satisfied customer. A restaurant built in country house style with the fairy tale characters Max and Moritz and teacher Lämpel and the associated characters. The menu is relatively clear. But, it's delicious and you can get seconds like fries or sauce at no extra charge. The staff is very friendly and not intrusive. Anyone holidaying in this area on Lake Zurich should not miss this opportunity.

We were there with a group by bus and the place is beautifully located. The hand organ music was atmospheric. Certainly also a great destination for hiking. The view of Lake Zurich is impressive.

Great interior design to the Max & Moritz Stories from Wilhelm Busch. Nice floors and 3 large trampolines outside to entertain the kids. Did is high quality and a great stop after a hike or a lunch/dinner in the weekend.

Hello, this place was traditional for its breaded and crispy chicken, I wanted to go. Now they have changed their tradition, the star dish no longer exists, which was my disappointment. I only went to eat said star dish. The staff is super attentive.

Good food, especially chicken in the Chörbli. Small deduction because you cannot pay by credit card (although technically possible it is not accepted). Service is very friendly, but things tend to be forgotten and everything takes a little longer.

Fantastic food in a gorgeous setting. When we arrived we thought we walked in on a wedding because of the beautiful flowers everywhere. The roast chicken was perfection; crispy, seasoned skin with juicy meat and a curryish dipping sauce. Dessert of blended strawberries and cream was a splendid springtime treat.

It was sensational, I can really recommend it 👍🏻🥰. I will definitely visit it again with ☀️. It was a culinary delight. The service was very friendly 👍🏻👏🏻

And depending on the chef's whim, you can always get something homemade for free as an aperitif, even an alcoholic homemade fruit bole... We wanted to eat at Chnusperhüüsli for a 70th birthday. The reservation was made well in advance, so far so good. After reading the reviews about children, we became unsure and asked again by phone whether it would be okay if we took 2 children (3+5) with us. - We were told in the most unfriendly way that children were NOT WELCOME! So of course we will NEVER go to the Chnusperhüüsli, because such an attitude is simply top notch! - Thumbs down

Great chicken wings, the sauce is to die for. The staff very nice and accommodating. The food and service actually deserve 5 stars. But: the 2.75% surcharge when I pay with a credit card is simply unsympathetic. Ultimately, the staff suffers as the majority will take a cut from their tips. This fee should be included in the price. A pity.

Were there with the company. Chicken in the Chörbli was delicious, people often asked if they would like a second helping of chicken, fries or sauce. Almost too often. The bread was great. Salad was also delicious. When the door opened it quickly felt cold, but that evening it was really cold. The dessert buffet wasn't bad, but it emptied quickly and the vermicelle didn't taste good at all. The booze taxi was a cool idea. We also liked the quiz.

We had a lovely dinner at Chuschperhüsli. We ordered a basket of chicken with french fries, chicken with mushroom souce, and the Apfelküchlein with Vanillesauce. The food was delicious and the weitresses super kind and helpful with us. They have free parking spots outside, and the restaurant is very cozy and warm. Both the upstairs and downstairs rooms are decorated with funny paintings and big statues which make the place unique. Highly recommended!

Accidentally discovered this restaurant and even though they were fully booked, they still served us and we really enjoyed the food. All Staff was very welcoming and kept checking on us if all was good. Thank you for having us. Delicious food.

The five of us had a lovely evening. The food was fine and the service was attentive. I really liked the atmosphere around Wilhelm Busch.

Travel back in time to the 80s. We went out to eat here on a sunny day, the food was OK, but nothing more. The big surprise came when paying. I asked for the bill, which came. When I held out my Maestro card, the service person said “one moment please” and disappeared again. She then came back with a new bill, which was more expensive than the first one, and my journey through time began. I asked why it had suddenly become more expensive and was told that they were charging a card surcharge. I asked why they do this, since today everything and everywhere is paid for by card. The explanation was that they wanted to reward guests who paid cash and there was more and more cash in circulation. Such a statement and behavior from a restaurant where all banks are dismantling their ATMs and you can buy chewing gum with a card at every kiosk is absolutely incomprehensible and I haven't come across it since the 80s. So if you want to eat here, be sure to bring cash with you, otherwise you will pay too much. For me, I will consider other future restaurants that will arrive in 2022 and it doesn't matter how they pay.

A very nice place and good food. We are actually regulars. But the owners are very unfriendly and children are definitely not welcome. We don't understand why the Chnusperhüsli explicitly advertises with Max and Moritz and has trampolines.

We 2 adults and 2 children wanted to go out to eat at Chnusperhüsli on a Wednesday around 12:30. On the way to the entrance we met a gentleman (owner) who brushed us off in a very friendly manner. Apparently everything was reserved, we looked into the restaurant but there were a lot of empty tables and only a handful of cars in the parking lot. Our feeling told us something was wrong. Then we got back in the car to another restaurant. Later we looked at the reviews and lo and behold, we are not the first with children where something like this happened. Children are probably not welcome. The main thing is that there is a trampoline on the terrace and advertising child-friendly is not possible.

My colleague and I spontaneously planned to go to Chnusperhüsli today, accompanied by our two children. It was around lunchtime (around 12.30) and while the four of us were looking for the entrance, we apparently met the owner/responsible person. He asked us directly, while still in his parking space, whether we had reserved. We answered no. Then it came straight out of the blue that all the tables were fully booked for lunch - and very kindly that he was very sorry. Afterwards we took a quick look into the hall and, strangely enough, there were still a lot of tables free. Mainly older people sat at their tables by candlelight. We left the place a little confused and there were still questions left unanswered. However, after reading through the reviews, a few things are clear to us. The Chnusperhüsli has apparently changed its concept and children are no longer as welcome. No problem at all, but then you should be open and transparent - and neither pretend nor lie - and finally clear away the trampoline in the garden - because Max and Moritz are apparently not really wanted - at least not live ;)

An unfriendly, arrogant boss. We wanted to have something to eat with our grandchildren, 1 and 3 years old. A member of staff kindly assigned us a table on the terrace. Just as we were about to sit down, the boss came and brusquely asked us to leave the area as they don't open until 11.30am. You won't believe it: it was 11:25 a.m.! So we put the two children back in the car and will never set foot in the child-friendly Chnusperhüsli again.

Very nice to look at, unfortunately even though it was open according to the notice on the house, everything was locked. So can't give a real review.

After 5 years of absence, we are finally a guest again in the “new” Chnusperhüsli for us. Happy to find all the funny pictures and characters again. We immediately felt comfortable again. The menu, served by the always friendly service, was very fine. It's worth a visit !

How child-friendly is this restaurant? The store manager is totally unfriendly and incompetent. I think the restaurant is really, really great, but apparently not for children... what a shame! For me NEVER again!!

We were on site today (Saturday, May 21, 2022 at around 4:00 p.m.). They said they were closed. Until then everything is fine. We ate in the Buchenegg restaurant (great service!). When we went home (around 5:20 p.m.), we saw that the Chnusperhüsli restaurant was already open and two tables were served - with food. Of course my daughter wanted to go on the trampoline, so we decided to have a coffee and a dessert there. As soon as we reached the table, the gentleman (presumably the owner) came and said everything was reserved. When I asked if I could have a coffee for just 10 minutes, I was turned down very rudely. After a long discussion, we left the restaurant. 5 minutes later I called to reserve a table for 6:00 p.m. The first question was whether there were four adults. And lo and behold, it's not a problem, it can be organized. I then mentioned that we had just been expelled and that the behavior was very unfriendly and unprofessional. His answer - even more ridiculous, the restaurant is open at 6:30 p.m. and it's on the internet. If that is the case, then you do not accept any other guests before this time and you do not choose between guests with or without children. Simply disgusting! Stealing a child's 5-10 minutes of joy! Why would you put three trampolines there if you don't want children in the restaurant? Sad, really sad!

A nice location, really nice staff and good food. So everything is positive? Unfortunately no. Unfortunately, the manager who greets you and in our case also took the reservation cannot keep up with the rest. It's a shame, almost everything would have been perfect...
