Uto-Staffel in Stallikon

Yesterday evening we spent a lovely evening with our friends eating fondue and enjoying the wonderful view. The service was absolutely top and very friendly. Because we apparently didn't get a great table, the boss surprised us with a meat platter, even though we didn't even complain. Was really very attentive. Unfortunately, I was cold all evening because it was blowing through the cracks in the window. But we will certainly go again. Just because of the great service.

After a long walk you are happy to get a fresh drink. We really enjoyed the friendly service and a fondue meal with a fine taste.

Amazing Zurich views, i would suggest to go up there walking or cylcling or running to enjoy the incredible nature around It.

Like everyone else, we went to eat fondue at Uto Staffel with our dog. We were well served and our dog (a black boxer) was warmly greeted and immediately given something to drink (in front of us). I can't say anything bad about our stay and our food, absolutely perfect. Gladly again. Kind regards Roger

We visited Uto Staffel this evening for a fondue. Unfortunately we were absolutely shocked at the poor quality of the cheese. We have never had oil in a fondue before. When we asked why that was the case, the innkeeper said: “You just have to stir it properly”. He reluctantly slammed a new pan onto the table, which was probably barely edible with more cornflour. When asked what type of cheese it was, the waitress didn't have an answer. All in all, our criticism was not responded to constructively and we did not feel that we were taken seriously. A pity!

Sitting at the window with the most beautiful view of Zurich, we enjoyed a very delicious cheese fondue! Although the restaurant was very busy, the service was super friendly and efficient. We would love to come back!

Wow coming here was super dissapointing! I reserved for two people over the phone a few weeks before coming and when the day finally came, a super rude waiter told us that we did not reserve! No doubt I reserved as it was a special occasion for us and I would definitely not confuse the date. They put us at a really ugly table in the end. No apologies, nothing. The fondue was okay. Not worthwhile at all for the service.

I had booked a table for an event for 12 women. In the end there were 13 of us and when I told the service staff, she solved the problem within two seconds with a smile. The staff there is very attentive, pleasant and always there for us with a smile on their faces. I will not overlook the fact that it is not easy to serve a table of 13 people. We had a wonderful day at this place and I would come back without hesitation. Many thanks to the entire staff, we Argentines in Switzerland are very grateful to you.

It's really fascinating to read about how great it was for everyone and their dog. A year ago, for some reason, we weren't allowed to sit in the area with a panorama with our almost invisible mug mouse breastfeeding Chihuahua mix (in the bag). When we asked why that was the case, we received no answer; the boss even walked past us arrogantly. Unfortunately, service was mediocre, unfortunately I barely understood English or German, and my fondue fork had dried cheese on it. The fondue was good.

Extremely nice service, even though we only ordered coffee at lunchtime! We will definitely stop here for dinner sometime.

So far it's always been great, but for today not even one star for an employee, I wanted to sit with my family on the back of the terrace, around 5:40 p.m. an employee came directly and without greeting told us, if you don't want to eat then sit somewhere else. I think it's a shame for such a family and friendly restaurant to have such UNFRIENDLY staff...never again!!

24.02.2024 Yesterday, with my little child, I attempted to visit the establishment UTO Staffel because my child was cold and needed to warm up. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the waitress informed us that there were no available seats as everything was reserved, and if we wanted to get inside, we needed to reserve a table. So, I went outside and called the restaurant. Over the phone, they told me to simply come in and find a seat. I went back inside the restaurant, but the waitress insisted that without a reservation under my name, I couldn't sit, even though there were plenty of empty tables. I then called the restaurant again to make a reservation, but once more, I was told to just come in and sit. When I explained the situation and mentioned that the waitress had told me everything was reserved, they said to wait for 10 minutes until a table freed up. Explain to me the logic of this establishment: to get in, you apparently need a reservation, but when you call to make one, they send you back to the restaurant. There is no point for tourists in this establishment, as all you can expect is poor service, wasted time, and ruined moods.

Were invited to a birthday party here (15 people), consumed an excellent fondue plus very good desserts. Everything was very good, especially the woman from the service gave her all = extremely nice and helpful! A truly ideal place!

We were there about 2 weeks ago and called about 1-2 hours in advance to see if there was room. The person on the phone said we could just come. When we got there there was no room and no notice that we called. We were then given a table in the passage opposite the kitchen. Our waitress was pleasant, but everyone else seemed stressed, nervous and unfriendly. The fondue was ok, but not seasoned enough for us (we then ordered pepper). The bread was too soft for me as I like bread with a crispy crust. The dessert was delicious. The food was brought out very quickly. I wouldn't go there for dinner a second time.

We had a lovely family dinner with our dog in the Uto Staffel and felt very comfortable. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive - a big compliment! The fondue was also delicious and the view was great. The request for a table in the corner was also implemented, which made us very happy.

Good food and ambiance, but marred by poor service. A male staff member (the manager maybe) was shouting, and one of the waitresses was notably unfriendly, marking a level of rudeness that was truly disappointing.

Became aware of this restaurant through a booked DeinDeal voucher. Booking via DeinDeal was a fondue for two people at discretion. The registration was carried out perfectly by email. Directions: We took the train to Uetliberg station from Zurich HB. From the station it's another 15-20 minutes on foot. It is rather difficult to reach the restaurant with a manual wheelchair or if you have walking difficulties, as the path is relatively steep. The fondue mixture for the solved deal is okay. But not outstanding. But I can well imagine that if you visit without a voucher, you will be served a better and tastier fondue. The menus that were served to those sitting next to us looked very tasty. The service employee was friendly. We were almost certainly served by a waitress who was still learning. Which definitely speaks for it. It didn't bother me at all. I felt comfortable and well served. I would be happy to come back via DeinDeal even without a redeemed voucher. There were also a lot of guests on site, which speaks for the restaurant. Cleanliness: The restaurant, table and toilet were clean. The three stars shouldn't be seen as bad, but they were rated that way for me because of the DeinDeal voucher I booked. I will gladly come again.

We received a very warm welcome with our dog! The service was top notch and we were able to enjoy a delicious fondue. The walk to the restaurant is a nice extra and throughout the day you also have a perfect view of the Säuliamt and Zurich city.

Ladies and Gentlemen I hope my message reaches you well. We recently visited your restaurant and appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of your staff. Unfortunately, we had to witness twice how the boss or owner treated the employees inappropriately and disrespectfully in the presence of customers. Today we were in this restaurant. We were 6 people and 4 very small dogs, between 2 and 4 kilos, who stayed under the table in their cozy bags the whole time. We had reserved by email and can prove everything and asked if we could bring dogs and we were told. When we arrived we were treated extremely badly by a woman who received us because we had the dogs with us and to our amazement they didn't have our reservation. After a little argument with the rude woman, the owner came with a horrible look on his face and sat us at a table far away from everyone else in the restaurant. We sat near the bar and kitchen and were able to see how this gentleman treats his employees. It was really a terrible atmosphere. I now understand why the poor woman was so stressed. Another Spanish lady served our table beautifully, despite the visible struggle of all the women trying to cope with the intense work while the boss shouted at them. I have to say that these women do an incredible job because the woman who served us always smiled at us and made our evening better. I loved the fondue, but never in my life would I leave my house and go back up that mountain to be in such a stressful environment.

Just for the record, the service from the employees was excellent (nothingcomplain about in that regard). However, I'd like to inform you that it's highly unethical to reprimand employees in front of customers. I found the tone of voice used with the staff who are doing their best there quite disrespectful. Regardless of how long they've been working for you, respect is crucial! We scheduled in advance and even called to inquire if we could bring a dog, and you confirmed that we could! Just to correct you, there were 6 people and only 4 dogs. You directed us to sit at the table in the back of the kitchen, so it's not our issue if the choice was yours! Just to mention, it's not a matter of strength or character, but rather of respect, which, unfortunately, was lacking on your part. Since respect seems to be lacking, you should at least try to be humble in responding to feedback, acknowledging mistakes, and apologizing for them. But it seems you're not ready for this conversation. Have a good night.🤮👎

very cozy atmosphere, fair prices and very friendly staff

Despite reservations, we had to sit in the ice-cold hall. Fondue in this icebox was extremely uncomfortable. The promised blankets never came. To the empty ones!! We weren't allowed tables in the front area. When asked about the cold, the boss made it clear to me that he had no time for me and my concerns. Extremely unsympathetic. I'm sorry for the nice service specialists.

The service was very nice but the prices were also very horrendous. 9.20 for a water and almost 45 for a fondue hurts a bit.

I usually don't give bad reviews, even if I didn't really like something, but unfortunately I have to do it this time because I have never met such an unfriendly staff member on the phone in my life. Very unfriendly and unpleasant employees! I called to ask and clarify a few questions and the gentleman who answered the phone was very annoyed and very unfriendly. I couldn't even ask my questions properly and then the gentleman hung up immediately after the first question, even though I wanted to ask other questions. I called the second time and said that I actually wanted to ask a few more questions, then I quickly received an angry answer: “Yes! What?" I said it on the phone that we should speak to you customers in a more friendly manner, then the gentleman immediately hung up again. What's that supposed to mean? Does the owner even know what kind of employees he has hired? You shouldn't talk and treat customers like that at all!!

Unfriendly and stressed service then continued like many others. A pity

Had a very nice evening yesterday. Above all, the service was/is super nice and fast. The food (cheese fondue) was also very good. The view is great. We had no contact with the boss (except for the email reservation and that worked great).

We had a great lunch in the friendly restaurant. Our favorite when we run up the mountain🤗 At best you could use the cordon bleu (meat pounded a little thinner) but all in all super tasty. Thank you and see you soon...💪

We had a great evening at Uto Staffel. As soon as we walked in the door we were almost blown away by the smell of cheese, which was a good sign. The fondue was very tasty and filled us all up. Although we didn't have a seat by the window where you can look down on Zurich, we did have a cozy spot right next to the fireplace. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and funny (especially Jacqueline😊). Even if the restaurant isn't in the middle of the city, it's still worth the trip there

they rudely asked us to leave because our son and the daughter of our friends were making too much noise.... two 1 and a half year old children who just want to crawl around... just write that the restaurant is not family friend instead of being rude

They refuse to serve you a carafe of water and charge you 3 francs for the tiny glass of water! This is theft ! Shame on you !

Many times we had a great experience until today when we learned that people in here were not born as child and have no tolerance for a toddler not shutting up all time. The tone makes the music and for us it has been the end of an experience here. The last visit for us after around 20 times. All the best for your future, I hope kids do not enter your premises again.

Although we had already postponed once, the landlord was willing to reschedule our reservation without our voucher expiring. This level of goodwill is not often seen anymore and we are very grateful and look forward to returning there soon!

Last week I went to a restaurant with my sister for fondue, which was really delicious! The restaurant offers a fantastic view and the absolute highlight was the great hospitality (many thanks Sandra for the great evening, we were so happy about your warm manner!). We would definitely like to come back!

Super rude! I wanted to have a drink with my son, but they didn't even greet us nicely, they just looked at us saying "we don't have room". I wonder where some people learn to behave..

A great Swiss 🇨🇭 restaurant with a view of Zurich and a very friendly service staff. If you want to eat Swiss food, it is highly recommended😊 There are many people when dining on weekends, so it is recommended to make a reservation.

I always come back there after the climb. It is always a pleasure for me to consume delicious food. No matter whether fondue, cordon or just dessert. It tastes excellent. The waitress Sandra is always in a good mood...even in stressful situations. I would like to come to you. Thanks.

We sat outside on the long terrace having lunch. All the food tasted delicious...even 2nd plates to share was no problem at all...dessert with 5, 7, etc. glasses of homemade desserts not to be missed! We would find a paper mat under the plate and cutlery to be more visually and hygienically appealing. Service was extremely attentive and friendly. Drinks like fresh beer took too long in the heat and about 20 minutes after walking from the train station.

It is a nice restaurant at the uetliberg. Sadly i didnt have the best experience there. I ordered a vegan salad. I received a salad with egg, french dressing (milk) and cheese. I asked for another vegan one and received the same salad off which they had scraped the cheese and egg. I ate it anyway since I had already asked once and didnt want them to through it away. While paying (with a tip) the lady asked snappily why I was vegan and if I wear leather shoes and belts and if I would even get all my vitamines. I was quite bamboozled to say the least and do not understand her aggression towards me since I was always very polite.

The sign promises “Hot food all the time” but unfortunately that’s not the case: on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. the kitchen was closed and you couldn’t eat anything. Disappointing.

The landlord behaves absolutely recklessly with his vehicle (ZH nnn117) on the Uetliberg and endangers hikers, walkers and bikers. I therefore avoid this restaurant and ask every person to do the same.
