It was our first time at the Freihof and, as always, I ordered a cordon bleu whenever possible. And it was very tasty, a real professional was definitely at work. It's rare to be served at such a high standard and the same applies to the super friendly service and the really nice and successful ambience. I was just about full, but as fine as it was, it could have been a little more, or maybe two sizes to choose from.

We found this place upon recommandation by one of our Swiss friends. Access from Zurich ist possible by car in about 1 hour riding time. But we recommand to travel to there using public transportation. Connections are offered to there every 30 minutes from Zurich Main Station (S5 or 15 to Rüti, from there on by bus. Or combine the trip with a steam boat ride on the Lake of Zurich to Rapperswil to take the same bus from there bringing you up to the described restautant.
