Top, top, top, price/performance perfect. Inventive cuisine in terms of menu and menu. At the moment there are really good kebabs, unfortunately only during carnival. Thanks to the whole team.

Well suited for a spontaneous family trip. Many different guests come together. The view of the Alpstein with Kronberg in front of the Säntis is simply incredible. If you have time, you should plan a hike up the hill and the forest behind it with a fireplace, from where you can see spectacular views of Appenzell and the Hoher Kasten.

By chance we ended up at the Hörnli on New Year's Eve 2023 and were pleasantly surprised. The carpaccio of rind stomach, the cordon bleu with cheese from the Schwagalp, and the plain pork schnitzel were delicious. And the simple bottle of Pinot Noir was also tasty. And all at pleasant, hospitable prices. The ambience is simple but warm. A real place to relax.

Fine food in an idyllic setting

Host Käthi and Evi spoiled us with fresh salads and extensive cheese fondue (including boiled sausage and pears). You can feel that the food is cooked with love and, above all, freshly. In the end we even had to forego dessert (orange sorbet with “Güggs”) because there was simply no more room :-). For this we were rewarded with an Appenzeller. The Hörnli is simply highly recommended!!! Thank you for your hospitality.

What a great find! Our best dining experience in Switzerland. Visiting from Australia, we had a week of expensive, extremely average food and then we lucked upon this little place 😋. Original building from early 1900s. Spotlessly clean, authentic Swiss tavern. Has a beer garden/deck at the rear and small play area for children. House set lunch, 3 courses, all fresh ingredients, prepared to order, very friendly, great service. Honest, tasty food, generous portions and very reasonable prices. A refreshing change!!
