reservation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Simple and uncomplicated by phone. Reception, service & operation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very friendly welcome - we were served attentively. Half of the tables were occupied. Good service team - professionally filleted all the fish at the table. Aperitif, food & wine list ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a Pinsa Biancha (Regina) as antipasti, the artichoke salad and fish sea bass & turbot from the daily menu. Everything was very well seasoned and balanced, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Ambiance & furnishings (sound & smells) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Open & spacious, no frills. We were in large-scale cultivation. Sound was good - we could have a good conversation. It smelled good after the meal. Toilets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Clean, well maintained & in good condition. Terry towels. Conclusion ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good authentic Italian cuisine - we'll go again.

There were 6 of us (including 1 child) for dinner in the restaurant. The gentleman's service was nice, but the blonde lady was very unmotivated. She was constantly swearing. That didn't exactly make the best impression for the guests. The service was also very slow. When we ordered it was said that there was no gnocchi, even though it was on the menu (children's menu). So with a heavy heart the child decided on pasta. The starter, buffalo mozzarella salad caprese, was ok, but I've had a much better one even in Spain. The green salad was basically just a bit of arugula. Because we love Pinsa, we specifically went to this restaurant. But here we were totally disappointed. The Pinsa was more of a limp pizza. We've also eaten much better food in Ticino and Sils. When we ordered dessert, we were once again rudely told that we didn't have time to make a chocolate cake (here, too, it was on the Klarte). When we asked for more, the ladies gave in and brought one later. We also noticed that ordering dessert was not welcome. Finally, the children's menu was billed as a normal menu. However, this was then refunded following my complaint. All in all, the evening was a disappointment. We will avoid this restaurant in the future.

Very good pizza and very polite staff. The dough of the pinsa and the pizza was very tasty.

The Restaurant zur Kastanie is an authentically Italian-run restaurant with a lot of charm and an ambience that invites you to linger. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. The food was excellent every time!

We have known Restaurant Kastanie for 14 years and it is the best restaurant in all of Uster. We enjoy the meal in large company, such as at a confirmation, a wedding, etc. Enjoying a candle light dinner with my sweetheart or New Year's Eve in this wonderful restaurant is also a highlight. The food is varied, fantastic, always fresh, and the price-performance ratio is even right excellent wine and the daily menu on the slate is absolutely amazing. We were at Kastanien on January 23rd and received excellent, warm service. The nice gentleman was very responsive to our wishes. The main course was served to us perfectly because we were smokers, which means they were very attentive. The food was excellent😋 I can only recommend it. Patient and gallant Mmmmmm!!

Food was very good (5 stars)..The three of us actually just wanted to have a drink, whereupon we were told that they couldn't give us a table if we only consumed drinks. Not exactly the hospitality I was hoping for. During our visit (5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.) a little more than half of the tables were occupied... so it's not like we were blocking space for hungry guests.

If you are used to eating carbonara with cream, this is not the right place for you

service is very bad!! You have to wait a lot. Caffe latte was almost cold!! Dishes are super bland. Never again!!!

Large pizzeria with very fine pizzas! The staff was overwhelmed during our visit (with 25 people), even though they were of course registered. The lower hall - without any demarcation - creates an incredible noise when well occupied. You can hardly understand the person sitting next to you at the table! Very unfortunate.

I find the pricing with menu deviations to be rather negative. Example: In the Pinsa menu you use bacon instead of salami, there is an additional charge of 4 to 6 CHF. The service is respectable, but the food is top. Therefore 3.5 points rather than 4+

I tried the ravioli and tiramisu. The food was delicious, I could taste that it was really homemade. The first time I was there I ordered a pizza, I had Italian feelings. Service very friendly, no long waiting times. Great location, really nice terrace to sit outside. I will definitely go there again, I can only recommend it.

Great food, admittedly the cheaper lunch menu is rather limited but you can always switch to the normal menu and it is extensive and offers something for every taste. The team is always nice and customer-oriented. The beautiful chestnut garden in summer is unbeatable...

Price performance, ambience fits...

Like in Italy - spontaneity included! We would like to thank the Kastanien team for the hospitality at our open air event. Our guests really enjoyed the fine aperitif.

We decided to change restaurants due to a “festival” on the square right next to the restaurant (larger group after graduation). 2 minutes later we were asked to leave the restaurant (we still had drinks, cocktails etc on the table). Nice location but unfortunately not a place to recommend.

Excellent Italian. Pulpo is very well cooked to perfection and the special tartare is also recommended. Clear map everyone is sure to find something suitable

We were there on Saturday. The food is sensational, the service is very friendly, but the only thing we missed is that the boss didn't even come to the table and ask if everything was OK. Very unfortunate. Therefore only 4 stars Otherwise it is recommended.

Wir besuchen das Lokal schon seit Jahren. Schöner, schattiger Garten und auch geräumiges Lokal im Innenbereich. Sehr feines italienisches Essen (frisch zubereitet, authentisch) - der Chef kocht selber. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Beim Service hat das Lokal einen grossen Sprung nach vorne gemacht: freundlich, speditiv und unter den aktuellen Covid-Bedingungen im Vergleich zu anderen Lokalen vorbildlich.

Wir waren im Ristorante mit meinen Freunden, war wirklich gut, das Essen war ausgezeichnet, vor allem Pasta und der Fisch, sie haben auch Pizza, ist wirklich gut. Servis war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir werden zurückkommen.

Gastfreundschaft ist hervorragend. Das Personal bemüht sich sehr. Über Mittag ist eher eine kleine Karte, jedoch alles sehr frisch zubereitet. Am Abend a la carte.Qualität der Essen ist sehr gut. Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist perfekt. Immer Sommer kann man im Aussenbereich unter den Kastanienbäume Essen und bei kälteren Temperaturen ist das Lokal sehr angenehm und schön.Kann ich sehr empfehlen. wenn man italienisch mag!!

Excellent food (delicious and crispy pizza dough), we were also served very quickly once the order was placed. The only negative point was the service at the beginning where it took us several minutes to order. But this was compensated by the speed of serving us the dishes afterwards.

Zu dritt haben wir am Freitagabend reserviert. Ein Treffen mit Freunden. Ich wollte nur eine Vorspeise. "Es müssen mindestens 2 Vorspeisen konsumiert werden, auch wenn die anderen beiden Gäste voll bestellen". Gelebte Gastfreundschaft sieht wirklich anders aus.Breitrandige Teller mit minimalster Bespeisungsfläche geben einer flachgewürzten Kürbissuppe, die trotz ihrer wenigen Masse im ungewärmten Riesenporzellan halb kalt mit noch einem kühleren Lächeln auf dem Tisch der Ungastlichkeit serviert wurde eine schneeweisse Umrahmung. Der minimalst angerichtete Salat war zwar eine Augenweide, konnte aber im Dressing auch nicht wirlich überzeugen.Fazit: Das netteste waren die mitgebrachten Gäste am Tisch als Gegenpart zum kühlen Service, das grösste die flächigen Teller mit Minimalinhalt und maximaler Geschmacksentfaltung die zusammen mit einer ColaZero doch noch mit 23 CHF zu Buche schlugen.

Very good food, price/performance ratio is perfect. Friendly staff, just typical Italian temperament. The wine selection is small but the best Italian wines are included. Both upscale and casual. I would happily recommend it at any time. To those who rate poorly: stick to your McDonald's.

Ci vado sempre molto volentieri al Kastanie. Personale molto gentile, cuoco bravissimo, atmosfera bella, ambiente caldo. Uno dei ristoranti più belli di Uster dove si mangia e si sta molto bene.
