When I travel for work, I look for a suitable restaurant for lunch the evening before. I noticed the Appenzeller Chässspätzlich on the menu at the country house. I was looking forward to the spaetzli all morning yesterday Friday. When I arrived at the Lndhaus, I realized that "only" the 5 daily menus were served at lunchtime. As a flexitarian, I had no desire for the meat-heavy menus and so I asked for the spaetzli. Actually it wasn't possible, the waitress said, but asked in the kitchen and came back shortly afterwards with the positive message that the boss was making an exception. Later, the boss personally came to my table and explained to me that he could make an exception today. Next time I should simply register a special request by telephone by 10 a.m. By the way, the spaetzli tasted delicious! My summary of my visit to the country house: Flexibility, friendliness and also the food deserve high praise!

The kitchen wasn't under any stress when we arrived, we were pretty much the first lunch guests. The service was unfriendly and impersonal, leaving a lot to be desired. When we asked at the end if we could pay if we had the chance, we were shouted at: Everyone has a turn, we shouldn't stress! We just asked. The “boss” and his employee seemed very stressed and overwhelmed with the few tables they had to serve. We were there for the first and last time!
