Restaurant Little India in Genève

We were recommended this restaurant during our visit to Geneva from England and I can only say that it discovered, their Butter chicken is one of the best we have tasted.

It was really not good and not at all the flavors of India. Very high price. “Aligros” product, no incredible presentation for the very high prices. meh.

Stumbled upon this restaurantlast minute and it turned out to be incredible. Starters are great sizes, samosas were fabulous. Dinner and dessert also fantastic, would recommend the ice cream and sorbet! Incredibly attentive staff that regularly checked in. Would definitely recommend!

Unfortunately, my experience at the Indian restaurant Rajpoute, located on rue de Carouge in Geneva, left something to be desired. I recently ordered a Chicken Vindaloo through Manor, and although the ingredient list promised a range of flavors, it was a disappointment. The portion of meat, purported to be halal chicken breast from Italy, was barely larger than the knuckle of my little finger. Despite the diversity of spices mentioned, the dish lacked the essential: a generous portion of chicken. Disappointing value for money that leaves a bitter impression

I am living in Geneva for almost 9 months and almost tries all the so called Indian restaurants in Geneva, Saint-Genis, and Ferney area and they were disappointing. So believe me when i say here you will find the authentic indian food. I ordered Biryani and it remind me of the biryani i use to eat in Pakistan. Then comes Lamb roghan josh and it tender, juicy and flavourful. I loved the food, ambiance, and service offered by Waseem. Now its gonna be my goto place for desi food cravings

Authentic Indian food and very friendly staff. I had peaj pakora and chana masala here. Both were delicious. Service was also quick. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We priced 2 dishes and 2 cheese naan (too much oil) the food was average, plus I found a bit in the rice plate. The waiter was unpleasant and not at all welcoming especially since we paid for a simple Butter Chicken and Korna and two coke drinks and cold tea for -90frs I find a little expensive for what it was.

The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable.

Ordered take away, first the time given was 6:30 PM and food was not ready by the time. The servers were arguing with each other on who proposed 6:30 PM etc. which does not leave a good impression on the customers. The food was not upto the mark compared to what we ordered previously from the same place. The subz naan had no filling with just a bit of coriander leaves on top. The tandoori rotis were almost criminally unsavoury. Matar paneer had oil floating on the surface even after asking for less oil and the taste was also not good. Chicken tikka masala was just ok in taste. Overall a disappointment.

Delicious food and great service!

Good food, average, very little spicy. The only very negative note is that if you order water you will receive a 1L bottle of Evian, charged at 10.00 CHF!! Throughout the meal I saw 1L bottles of Evian distributed to various tables, sure that this water was enough to cover the rent of the establishment. My star sanctions this method but not the food.

Food was not so tasty ..Daal was not at all tasty .not boiled properly . Restaurant was so dark and was not what we read in the review .....

Frankly speaking, the taste is delicious, especially the butternut squash, the shrimp biryani is amazing, the naan is excellent, and the raita and white rice. These orders are for 3 people, the quantity is sufficient.

Ordered a take away that was just over 90chf and although the food is good, the portion sizes are criminally small and didn't match the pictures online. Worst of all was finding a green rubber band in one of the dishes

Very rude staff. As an indian i was looking to have a good experience with my old parents, the staff was super rude. A glass of water took 10 mins to arrive. The food and ambience is also below par. Not worth the money.

Pros: First impression decent, food quality and taste is good. Cons: Tourist beware if you don’t want to pay 10CHF for still water bottle avoid or ask in advance about water cost. I am from Aargau Canton where I am use to paying 3-5 CHF but 10 CHF is rip off. There is also clear distinction how they attend regular customer versus a tourist. My opinion: Surely I won’t be visiting this restaurant on my next visit to Geneva.

Ordered takeaway via delivery service. Very poor meal. Incredible amount of ghee in lamb korma which had separated. Naan was not fully cooked. Left me feeling unwell from sheer volume of fat even after pouring off the visible ghee and only eating half.

This is a really nice and cosy Indian restaurant with very interesting decorations inside. The staff were friendly, portions not huge but food was very good with a friendly good service.

I am absolutely delighted with my experience at the Little India restaurant. The quality of the food was exceptional. The spicy flavors and fresh ingredients really brought each dish to life. I am a big fan of Indian food and I have to say that this restaurant is one of the best I have ever visited. The ambiance of the restaurant was also very pleasant. The warm colors and authentic decorations created a warm and friendly atmosphere. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the delicious food. Finally, the service was first class. The servers were friendly and attentive, and they were very helpful in recommending dishes based on our preferences. Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend Little India Restaurant to anyone looking for quality Indian food, a pleasant ambiance and excellent service. It is an ideal place for a romantic dinner or an evening with friends. Good dish of the day but adapted to please the people here.

The food is certainly good, but the portions are ridiculous compared to the price honestly. I ordered a portion of butter chicken for €28, the cheese roll for €7, the rice was not included so extra €4 for an equally paltry portion of rice, I'll spare you the starters and the rest. If you're looking for a cheap restaurant, don't go there, I don't recommend it.

The food is great , we tried the naan 🫓 bread ( garlic and cheese) as well as the chicken Tikka masala and chicken in butter they both we fantastic, the atmosphere is wonderful. Two things should be improved; first the waitress not quick enough to respond and you have to call him couples of times and its pricy compared to the other halal places in Genève. Important Note: Although it's Halal it sells alcohol and has Buddah statue inside, for those who may concern.

I have been here a number of times. The one thing I tried to find when I first moved to Geneva was an authentic Indian restaurant. Speaking to my friends and colleagues in Geneva, this ticks all the boxes. The quality of the food never disappoints. The service is always great. Whenever we are here, we will always try to find Rashpal. He always goes out of his way to ensure any visit is memorable. The food is always great

The food is very nice and tasty. No gastric or other problems post dinner too. The quality of chicken or lamb is good. Bit costly too when compared to other restaurants.

Good food, service needs drastic kmprovement, especially treating customers with more respect nd being polite. We noticed this in adjacent tables as well. People dont want to come to a place where they dont feel good before eating good food right. Pls look into this nd next time expecting better service. Thanks

service - excellent Ambiance- excellent Food portion - Good Taste - we ordered vegetarian food that was very average in taste. The taste could have been better, but it was still ok. The pakoras were awesome. Mix veg/ Korma was not that great. Paneer was super soft and tasty. Dal was good too. Vegetarian soup was not that great. Over all the food was good. But it could have been much better.

I stayed right across the street. Every day from noon to night I watched that the restaurant was full, while the smells blew my nose! When we finally went we tasted flavours that were beyond imagination! The best culinary experience in Switzerland!

The food was great and pretty good value, would definitely recommend coming here! A couple points to add, the outdoor tables are too small to accommodate the plates of food and drinks, also the main waiter could work on his interpersonal skills. Very stereotypical waiter just interested in getting you in, not being attentive or friendly then putting on a fake smile at the end of the meal when you want to pay. Otherwise the other staff were very kind and friendly!

The meal was excellent, very tasty. The salmon and dal were famous. The service was unfortunately not up to par with the dishes: cold, impersonal, impatient.

Soul food! We stopped here for dinner after reading the reviews. Absolutely loved it! We ordered Lamb korma (would order it again) and Matar Panneer with some garlic naan and Peshawari naan. Also had a lamb biriyani (not the best I have had). The meat was tender and the food was delicious. Highly recommend it!

!!!— Excellent Punjabi/North Indian restaurant food and service in Geneva City Center —!!! Long Version: It was our first time in Geneva. And the first visit to ‘Little India’. We ordered vegetarian food : Baingan Bhartaa, Paneer Masala, Daal Tadka, Punjabi Salad 🥗, Raita, Tandoori Rotis, Matar Rice and finished the meal with Punjabi Masala Chai. This bill was close to 110 CHF for two people. I have been to several Indian restaurants all over Europe and Scandinavia and have enjoyed eating home food away from home. Little India was special as it reminded me of top-notch Punjabi and North Indian restaurant grade food in India. The staff here was kind and attentive to us and at the same time was not intrusive. They made shikanji (lemon juice Indian style - khatta mitta) especially on request. The words “paaji”, “haan ji” was reminiscent of North Indian politeness. We will surely come back.

The food was very tasty, I ordered chicken biryani, cheese nan bread, shish kebab, vegetable samosas, cola and masala tea. The charge was 91 francs, the quantity and quality of the food was great, the presentation was also great, but the servers were bad. One person was very nice and the other was very rude.
