Everything outside has reserved signs on the tables. In front and behind the house. You feel unwelcome. Actually we just wanted to have a drink but it looks like they only want to sell food. We used to go there often. If you're so arrogant, you won't go there to eat later.

November 4, 2023 Reserved “venison saddle” for 4 people by phone from Ädu 3 weeks ago. We were very pleased. Drove the route from Bern to Emmental in wind and heavy rain. Then the shock: everything is dark! There is a sign in front of the entrance that says: “Unfortunately closed today.” It would have been the least that we were notified. We went to the Löchlibad for our wedding anniversary with our witnesses at the time. Meal with overnight stay. You really are a guest there. Our table was beautifully set with such a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I was overwhelmed. Many thanks again to Heidi and Ädu for making this evening unforgettable for us with their stay and top breakfast.

Unfortunately you can't write 2 reviews. On Sunday October 22nd, 23 we walked into the Löchlibad again. When we entered the restaurant and asked if we could have something to drink, we were greeted harshly: "Only outside" - it wasn't exactly hot outside, but ok, we were thirsty. The service employee then just came to the table and said, “Do you already know what you want?” without bringing a card. Among other things, we wanted to order an open sweet cider - answer: "We only have drinks in bottles", then just a sweet cider in a bottle - answer: "We only have spritzers", well then just a spritzer. The iced tea we ordered came open. Among other things, we ordered a “bowl”. I've never seen such a small latte; elsewhere the espresso cups are this size. And yes, not for Fr. 3.50 but for Fr. 4.80. We then had the nerve to ask whether there was a meat platter or something else small to go with the Vieri. Danger! Answer: "There is only drinking, the kitchen is closed, we are short of staff" again in a tone that definitely wants to tell you "Hey, you're doing work and you're not wanted" When we then used the toilet, we saw that, for example, the Stübli was unoccupied and that there were also cooks standing around, even though you don't need a cook to make a meat platter. It's a shame about this restaurant, but it was definitely the last time for me and my companions. Review I wrote a year ago (summer 22): Contrary to other reviews, we as walkers got a table on the terrace at 3 p.m. on Saturday and were only able to have a drink. The two of us still had the apple strudel, which was very tasty. Everything was actually good until a waitress asked each guest whether he was there with his bike and made fun of the fact that there was a bike rack but the cyclists wouldn't put their bikes in it. The bike stand consisted of a tree trunk that was much too large and had slots in it that were far too deep and too narrow. A guest explained this to the lady, but she continued with her tour of the terrace anyway.

We are at a loss for words. We were able to spend an incredibly beautiful weekend in the Löchlibad. With extremely friendly people, excellent food and excellent rooms. We enjoyed every minute and were able to slow down excellently. We'll be back and that's not a threat.

Reserved signs on all tables so that no one just sits down - very unsympathetic. The food was mixed. Price-performance is not right. It's a shame for this very nice location. Unfortunately, an absolutely unsatisfactory answer that shows a lack of interest on the part of the host.

Restaurant lunch for 3 people on a busy Saturday lunchtime. We were the first guests at 11.30 a.m., very nice welcome from the boss and host Adrian. Service was good and prompt. Chef Michael’s food was very tasty. The building has been recently renovated and is very attractive and modern, yet the rustic and homely feel has remained. All in all a great experience and we will definitely come back as guests.

Went there at 3:20pm on a Sunday. There would have been space, unfortunately the service staff is not allowed to serve desserts in the afternoon on the boss's instructions (we would have received 2 pieces of apricot cake and a tarte tatin, but no ice cream and nothing else from the dessert menu). We studied the website in advance and nothing of the sort was noted there. We came specially. For us frustrating and not at all satisfactory!!!! The place in and of itself was nice and the lady from the service was really very friendly, the boss wasn't there to give him direct feedback.

Magnificent old house, beautifully renovated old and modern in harmony. Food regional and very fine. Service friendly and competent. Price is rather expensive, but justified by the products. I'd love to go again 😊

Wonderful Emmental days! Two nights in Fuchs 🦊 and Has 🐰. Very accommodating, nice, good food, big breakfast! Rabbit room is first choice, big and beautiful!

Luckily, the restaurant is quite hidden. So “you” go there consciously. If you want to eat, it is best to reserve a table. The service staff is very friendly, calm (even when they are busy), calm and competent. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty.

When I and my girlfriend wanted to stop there for a drink after a bike tour at around 3 p.m. in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, we were turned away by the staff, even though there were still a few free places, with the reason: not reserved in advance and a lack of staff. Really weak!

We visited the Löchlibad for dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. The outdoor area, dining room and rooms are very lovingly furnished, the dinner with local products is excellent and the breakfast is also rich and fresh (no buffet, which we particularly appreciate). The whole thing was rounded off by the friendly and courteous service. Gladly again!

The renovation was very successful. It's still cozy and has a lot of charm. A bit remote but definitely worth a visit. Important: tall people should keep their heads down. The new crew is doing their job very well. We enjoyed game. Very finely cooked and presented. The portions are intended for those who are very hungry. In addition, as befits an old spa, water from its own spring is served. Gladly again.

The Löchlibad restaurant was once again an absolutely happy coincidence. My wife and I were driving around somewhat aimlessly in the rainy weather and then came across the Löchlibad restaurant. Such a cozy and rustic house. The welcome was unique and warm. We simply enjoyed it with a delicious cheese and meat platter and a good glass of wine. The service was very friendly and attentive. The homemade apricot cake (I just couldn't resist) was also very delicious. Once again a very cozy restaurant where you just feel completely at home. We definitely weren't there for the last time.

My rating refers exclusively to the reservation request. I sent a request via the website contact form with the date and number of people for lunch. No reaction. However, I then sent a new request via email. No reaction. Then I tried twice more by phone. No reaction. A pity! Maybe I was just unlucky. Or is the accessibility really a bit unfortunate and others felt the same way?

Very consistent! We were warmly welcomed and the food was delicious! I got the tripe, the children the CordonBleu. My tripe is still the best, but I still give it 5 stars 😂. The ambience is very warm and charming. Really recommended!

Despite the sunny day, the garden terrace was closed! Shortage of staff! On the homepage only a wine list, no memory card! Otherwise very lovingly furnished, staff otherwise friendly!

Wonderful ambience. We went to the Löchlibad for dinner with bed and breakfast. Everything was super good, very friendly welcome and the staff was just great. Big compliments for the kitchen, the food tasted wonderful. Rooms are very nice and well furnished. Breakfast with fresh braid is simply wonderful. We will come back in any case.

Wanted to enjoy a dessert at a special place. Place in the Emmental. Our conclusion: Unfriendly words, according to service, terrace closed due to lack of staff and remaining seats reserved. Afternoon 4 p.m.? Pasta. No interest in offering us a table. It's a shame for the (harsh) restaurant and the innovative host. I know that it is not easy to find well-qualified staff these days. We spent a cozy weekend with dear friends in the wonderful Hotel & Restaurant Löchlibad. We were warmly welcomed by Heidi, Ädu and the team and felt very well looked after from the first moment. The Löchlibad was renovated and decorated with great attention to detail. Now we know what it feels like to spend the night in the Rabbit and Fox room. GORGEOUS. The food was excellent and the ambience was uniquely homely and beautiful. We will be back!

Everything is definitely right here, I can't and don't want to put it any other way. After the first visit you just want more of it. More of this wonderfully idyllic ambience, more of these warm people, more of the best wine in a long time and, above all, more of the kitchen. Determined on point! Pierre Francoise de la Varenne could be the master here. I'm rarely impressed!

We actually wanted to go out to eat... there were still tables available but we were sent away in a very unfriendly manner... walk-in customers are not welcome there.......!!!!It's a shame that guests are treated so rudely! Were there last time...

We had a wonderful evening in the Löchlibad. We were able to enjoy the aperitif on the terrace in a beautiful evening atmosphere. The subsequent dinner in the atmospherically renovated restaurant was very tasty. We enjoyed bratwurst and liverli with rösti for the main course and a crisp house salad and ravioli as starters. After a restful night in the lovingly furnished “Fuchs” room with wonderfully cozy beds, we started the new day after an inviting breakfast. We'd love to come back!

Heaven on earth. What can I say…? Hosts at the highest level. We were in the Löchlibad for the second time and stayed there overnight each time. The food, the wines and the ambience are second to none... And that in the Emmental where there is nothing (!) comparable far and wide. We can highly recommend this beautiful place to everyone. A bitter ending for a birthday party :( Five of us were at the Löchlibad to celebrate my partner's 40th birthday. The 3 starters tasted very good, only the marrow bones were very carelessly prepared, or rather not actually served at all, luckily they came on a plate otherwise it would have almost given the impression that they were for a dog. Afterwards, a solid hour of waiting for the main course felt like an eternity... 4 times we ordered the veal liver with rösti and 1 time the bratwurst with fries for the kitchen, which was actually very practical since not each of us wanted a different menu (you might think) but The bratwurst came with rösti instead of fries and none of us found this rösti even remotely enjoyable, they were all completely drowned in fat and half burnt. In every canteen there was a better rösti than yesterday in the Löchlibad and it was also served like in a canteen There wasn't even anything green for decoration. It was a really sad picture of how these plates came about, something like that shouldn't be on the counter. We weren't sure whether we really wanted to consume the dessert here... 2 of us opted out and 3 took a scoop of ice cream and it tasted good too. When it came to paying, the next problem came...my partner paid with a 1000 note that wasn't allowed to be accepted?????? Sorry, if the bill is over 500.- this shouldn't be an issue!!! Are there test pens to check the authenticity of banknotes if this is the problem? A real telephone marathon began until someone was found who decided that we could pay with this note. Just all in all an incredible final deception and this on a birthday :( Wouldn't recommend the Löchlibad to anyone in a hurry, it's a shame :( B.Wittwer

We were in the Löchlibad for the first time since the change of host. We ate high sirloin steak which was quite good. Unfortunately we were given a table without a tablecloth and there were no steak knives for the meat. The staff was not allowed to light the candle on the table; that was left to the landlady, who only came when we had almost finished eating. Conclusion: Despite the good food, we won't go there again.

My wife and I went to dinner at Löchlibad on Saturday. The atmosphere is very nice. At the beginning the service was great. We were immediately treated to an aperitif and then an appetizer. Ordered the main course, we waited and enjoyed the evening. But suddenly we noticed that people who had arrived significantly later than us were getting their food quicker than we were. So we waited and waited. After what felt like an eternity the food finally arrived. It was tasty, priced on the higher end and unfortunately not quite as warm as you would like. After that it took forever until we received the bill. But there was still nothing to do with paying. And here too we were disadvantaged again. We were already wondering whether it was our fault. I think the Löchlibad is not looking for us as guests. We're from here, so Emmentalers. We don't order expensive wine and rarely eat dessert after a sumptuous main course. Who knows, maybe we'll visit again in the fall/winter. Everyone deserves a second chance, right?

No, there is no longer any swimming in the Löchlibad - but instead there is fine dining! Sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the warm summer evening and treat yourself to culinary delights. Marrow bone from the oven, I've never had it served on a plate like this before = delicious! The veal liver was fried to perfection and the sauce with it was really good, the rösti with it was a bit dry; was definitely due to the potatoes. We were pleasantly surprised by the price of the wine, starting at Fr. 4.50 for a glass (1 dl) of good Luins, which is a very good value.

Nice location but the friendliness of the staff leaves a lot to be desired and you can clearly tell that they don't need walk-in customers.

Unfortunately, the reservation a few days before was very unprofessional. It was necessary to call several times, left waiting on the line for half an hour, no call back and suddenly on the fourth call it was supposedly fully booked. We didn't let this sit and called the boss again by phone to get this sorted out. We walked past, unsure whether it had really worked. We were already greeted with the wrong name (it's better to greet without a name than with the wrong one...). All tables had a reserved sign and no guest was ever seated at them. The salad portion for Fr. 8.50 was very meager. The waiting times for food were long. When we asked if we could fillet the whole fish, we were told: "We don't have time for that and we don't want to take on any responsibility either. Eat something else!!!" (literal statement)! We didn't get a bottle of water until we had already finished eating, even though it was ordered with the meal and the scoop of ice cream for dessert was already sauce. We were served by three different people, which was organizationally a disaster. When we ended up paying CHF 30.00 too much and we suddenly discovered the error, we spoke to the boss. He just said that we shouldn't be so hard. I felt like I was a cash cow. When we announced that pretty much everything went wrong that evening, we had to listen to: "Women, what's wrong with you???" Sorry, but this is not a reaction that a paying guest has to put up with. The well-intentioned criticism was not accepted and we felt like the ultimate bogeyman. At the latest when the boss at the table behind us left the comment: "The most I would say to them is: "Thank you and good bye!" We have never experienced such impudence anywhere before. The food was delicious and the ambience and furnishings were very good nice but that won't bring us there again. I think that this restaurant won't survive for long. But luckily there are other restaurants where service and hospitality are still very important and you feel comfortable. Thanks for nothing.. .

During a walk we wanted to have a coffee, but were not greeted and turned away! They had reserved everything, even though there were more free tables than guests! Walk-in customers are probably not welcome, very worrying.

Was only there for dessert, but if the other dishes on the menu are even half as good, it's worth a visit. Nice location in the middle of nature, even if there is no great view. The house was recently renovated with a lot of style and invites you to linger.

After many years we were once again in the Löchlibad. The food more than exceeded our expectations, down-to-earth as you would expect in Emmental but cooked with so much love and perfection that we were thrilled. The service is very attentive and warm and the new hosts are amazing! Be sure to call before your visit, word gets around about quality 😊Congratulations to the owner, who not only did everything right when renovating the historic inn, but also when selecting the tenants!

Went there spontaneously on a Saturday but called beforehand to reserve a table. It worked wonderfully. The service was excellent and the ambience is simply fantastic. The kitchen spoiled us wonderfully and we really enjoyed the trip. A big compliment to the whole crew, who put their heart and soul into pampering the guests. We'd love to come back.

The restaurant has been completely renovated and is truly magnificent. Very nice decoration too. The menu, changed regularly, offers regional dishes and is cooked with local products. Beautiful wine list offering a choice for all tastes (and all budgets). Attentive and friendly service. I would happily return. Reservations are essential, the restaurant is often full!

I'm irritated by the (few) negative reviews. There is no general right to a table without a reservation... Luckily, good restaurants are well booked.
