We spent a wonderful evening in the Marathon Restaurant! The dishes were very good and different from what we are used to eating. A unique experience that’s all the nicer when the service is top notch! Unbeatable price/quality/quantity ratio

Reservation made online. When I arrived the restaurant was open and I was the only customer. They refused to serve me whether it was on site or to take away even though it says “take away” in large letters on the front. Icy and not very friendly reception from the person that day. I would never go back there. I like and appreciate many other Ethiopian restaurants that are much more pleasant than the restaurant marathon in Friborg

The meal was good but the serivce was very slow. 1h30 wait between order and meal service (no starter order). The service is completely incompetent, sometimes even rude. If we allow ourselves to say something they send us off saying that it's normal to wait more than an hour and a half. I absolutely do not recommend

What a lovely surprise! We found this restaurant by chance and had the most delicious meal. Having never eaten Ethiopian food before we went for the Marathon Special- a very generous selection of a whole array of traditional dishes. Perfectly spiced and lovingly explained and presented by the host, a very interesting man, we will DEFINITELY be coming back!

Voilà un petit moment que nous n'avions pas mangé chez Marathon, mais pour cette fois, (commande livrée) nous avons trouvé très huileux.. le poulet baignait dans l'huile (1 demi centimètre quand même), les patates et même les lentilles... (?). Pour le coup, l'Abyssinia est plus gouteux et ils ont un menu permettant de goûter plusieurs plats à la fois. Sinon, prenez le végétarien...

Terrible .we order online and after 1 hour they called to cancel our order because they didn’t have enough personal , the person called screaming and being very impolite . We asked a refund and just hung up . If they can’t handle orders they should call immediate not after 1 hours at 8pm

The restaurant served us molded baklava. When asked about it the owner denied that this is mold and insisted on charging it on the bill even though it was inedible.

Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen. Das Essen ist extrem gut und die Bedienung ist angenehm und sehr freundlich. Wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen!

Nice place with a typically Ethiopian atmosphere. The master is very very kind and available. Just before starting dinner, he invited us to wash our hands and then explained to us the large, fragrant dish we had ordered. Overall, good experience.

Endroit sympa avec une ambiance typiquement éthiopienne. Le maître est très très gentil et disponible. Juste avant de commencer le dîner, il nous a invité à nous laver les mains et ensuite, il nous a expliqué le grand plat parfumé qu'on avait commandé. En général, bonne expérience.

wir hatten die vegetarische Platte in veganer Variante (ohne Käse) welche verschiedene Curries, Gemüseeintopf & Salat drauf hatte mit dem traditionellen Brot. es war sehr, sehr lecker & der Inhaber so aufmerksam & freundlich:-) ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen & empfehle das Restaurant sehr!!!

Je n’avais jamais mangé éthiopien/érythréen et je suis conquise. Le concept du plat unique à partager est simplement extraordinaire. Avec ce mélange d’épices, le goût y était à chaque bouchée. Petit moins pour le service qui a eu du mal à démarrer...mais au top par la suite ! Le propriétaire était super sympathique et très attentionné. Nous avons passé un bon moment.

Very friendly owner, delicious and plentiful food, we took the marathon menu at a very reasonable price. If you like spices from here and elsewhere, this is a delight. The setting lacks a little warmth which is compensated by that of the owner!

The place doesn't look like much, but when the dishes are served, a change of scenery is guaranteed. My little fix for 2: the marathon, served with the traditional injera pancake.

More than delicious cuisine! Mama, who manages everything by herself, is very friendly. Take the “a little bit of everything” dish for a total change of scenery! Ps: Take cash because card machine is not always working.
