Place is nice, relatively expensive, prices not transparent. Example, a glass of tap water Fr.4.00!

The ambience is beautiful. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, we had to wait almost 40 minutes for our food. Price/performance rather expensive. Nüssler salad as a starter costs over 14 francs.

On the occasion of our company outing, we were able to enjoy a very tasty lunch in the Schloss Burgdorf restaurant. The food was not only very tasty, it was also beautifully prepared and presented. The service was friendly and attentive.

Lovely and picturesque location, kind service and yummy seasonal food! It was no problem to get a vegan and gluten-free dish, which was great! Will definitely come back :)

Nice view, menu rather special but quite good. Rather upper price range. What was special was that the ice cream from the dessert menu apparently wasn't available.

It was just super comfortable and super friendly.

The atmosphere in the castle courtyard is wonderful. Unfortunately there were very long waiting times until food was served. Menus were lukewarm. Ordered beef entrecôte saignant - received medium. Barolo excellent

With its beautiful interior design, the Burgdorf castle restaurant offers a great castle ambience and you immediately feel like you were at the table with the former dukes in medieval times. 🙃 If the weather is nice, you can also enjoy regional specialties from the castle kitchen outside in the castle courtyard, under the large lime tree.

Cakes are frozen, thawed in the microwave and sold semi-frozen. They are soggy, tasteless, and no alternative. The group was registered in time. Too few staff at the self-service checkout.

Very nice brunch location. Top view, top offer, brunch dishes change 3x: cheese and cold cuts / warm dishes / dessert. Good value for money. Very nice staff.

Great brunch and nice ambience. Good selection of dishes and the brunch even includes a small lunch plus dessert. Great price/performance ratio. Highly recommended.

Food was great but we waited almost an hour for it. A no go

I have to say: a completely harmonious experience with three generations at the table! The food is very tasty, the service is warm and professional at the same time and the ambience is unbeatable in the combination of old and modern - highly recommended! A small note on the side: Tap water can be filled into carafes for free at the tap - what could be better: chilled Burgdorf spring water and that for free?

lunch with colleagues; The castle burgers in the black rolls were okay, but the waiting time of over 40 minutes was definitely too long!

The food is okay; but the service doesn't make you feel "picked up". You will wait for some time to be served and the same happened to others. A couple waited at the gelati stand for minutes, at least one person from the service could have communicated something. Paying was also difficult because, despite the glasses being empty, we were ignored for almost a quarter of an hour and went in to find three people from service at the checkout terminal. Yes, there is a youth hostel here and yes, the atmosphere is very nice, so you shouldn't expect haute cuisine or such service. Nevertheless, this would be the icing on the cake to be sure that you will be warmly welcomed and will be happy to come back. Hats off to Mr. Y. who tried harder than others that evening.

Nice place to eat and drink after a walk!

The food was good and the ambience was nice. The service staff was also very friendly and responded competently. Unfortunately we won't be coming again because of the very long waiting time. An hour after we ordered a risotto and a burger, we still haven't received the food. In the meantime, our children have already had drinks and chicken nuggets ready twice and have waited even more. After I asked, the only “explanation” I got was that the kitchen was overwhelmed, but when we ordered, we were almost the only guests in the restaurant. Cooking a fresh risotto doesn't even take more than an hour. The guests who arrived after us also received warm food. At the end we ate dinner while our children were already eating desert. The excessive demands as a justification for the excessively long waiting time was very irresponsible for me. Not even an apology. It showed that the restaurant is not really hospitable, or maybe not competent enough. Unfortunately.

Disappointing visit to the castle restaurant The location and interior design of the restaurant are very convincing. However, there couldn't be much more positive things to say about our visit: Starting with the seasonal vegetables, which are pepperoni, eggplant and zucchini from the greenhouse in Spain at the beginning of April (=original sound from service staff). The selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes is rather modest. After the seasonal vegetables with Belperknolle and polenta are gone, what remains is the vegan burger and a mushroom risotto. Both were ordered at our table. Unfortunately, the burger in particular is disappointing: the menu doesn't clearly show what the burger is made of: cole, carrots, tomatoes and lettuce. The fact that a meat substitute patty is served with it is moderately creative. What was particularly unfortunate was that the whole burger was served lukewarm. However, the burger was warmed up in the oven upon request, so the delicious bread was a bit cross, but actually almost tastier ;-) Unfortunately, the service staff wasn't convincing either: Long waiting times to order coffee and inappropriate comments about other guests will unfortunately mean I won't be able to visit the castle any more quickly! It's a shame about the great location!

Even the entrance to the restaurant is impressive with the illuminating tree. The experience in the restaurant was great. Very good food! Friendly and attentive service! Simply great!

Really bad food. The meat was not digestible, half of the rest on the plate was cold. After rewarming the whole plate, it was sort of half warm and still awful. The cheese platter thereafter came without bread, and after asking, they were surprised that anybody wood like butter with the bread. Soup and coffee were ok. Ambiance very nice.

The food and service was really great but charging 8 francs for 1 liter of water is not possible!!!!

The food is simple but quite good, apart from the dessert which was mediocre but in too small quantities for the price. The service leaves something to be desired. Examples: touch the edge of the glass, serve the man then the woman! Lack of observation to realize that the customer wants something, not enough courtesy and availability towards the customer! Very shocking that the person serving knows nothing about the wines they offer. There is no professionalism. The decor: lights too bright, decoration non-existent and cold. We are in a medieval castle instead of wrought iron lampposts, the illumination is like on a station platform.

Very interesting what was made of the old castle when you consider what went on there in earlier times. The historical stone/wood structure, modern interior design and technology are successful. We were overwhelmed by the museum in combination with the restaurant. We felt comfortable and really enjoyed the food. Of course, Burgdorfer beer couldn't be missed :)

A dream of castle, hotel and view... but the service in the restaurant is less dreamy. We repeatedly found tables on the beautiful terrace not cleared. The service staff was overwhelmed and understaffed. Unfortunately, a queue at the checkout to order or pay rounded off the disappointment. On August 1st it is almost to be expected that a lot of people will go up to the castle to see the castle Enjoy the evening and the fireworks. Unfortunately, we again only had to circle around full tables, the waitress was busy at the cash register and enthusiastically tried to keep up with the crowds. It's a shame that they're cutting back on staff and causing such a great location to falter with little service. I really hope it gets better.

Very cozy and beautifully decorated restaurant. The seats outside under the large, shady tree invite you to linger. The castle burger is super tasty and is fairly priced. The service is friendly and attentive. Keep it up!
