Restaurant Schlosshof in Dornach

I can only say positive things about the food and the service. But at 9 p.m. the chef probably wanted to finish work. We were given clear instructions to leave. I could understand it if the opening hours were until 9 p.m. - but that was really annoying...

I always like being in the castle courtyard because it's always right. Staff friendly and accommodating, food always good, beautiful view. A compliment to everyone. J.W

Simply great. We received a very friendly welcome this lunchtime and despite being full, we received excellent service. The price performance of the dishes is absolutely right, the high-quality meat is definitely worth the price. The ambience was also just great across the board, everything was covered in white with a great view from the window where you can look far into Alsace.

We are regular guests - there is a reason for that 😁...

That's the bottom of the barrel! A bottomless impudence beyond compare! We wanted to go out to eat in this shop on Sunday, everything inside was already full, so we went outside to the terrace - there we (my wife, my two children and I) wanted to sit at a table - we asked the service employee (Gordana) if we could could get a child seat... I couldn't have imagined a less friendly answer! "No! And we don't serve you out here, too few staff - just go for a run!" That as a boss you would let such a person loose on your "guests"... Especially since the tables all around had been served. I am speechless and will never visit this restaurant again. I will also share my experience in my private and business relationships and advise everyone against visiting this restaurant!

Quality cuisine, vegetarian dishes are a little underrepresented in this meat-focused menu selection. The ambience is a bit impersonal and there is a nuisance smell from the farm next door, which must have freshly fertilized the meadow. Prices are in the upper category.

Cordon Bleu in TK discounter quality for 43.80. In my opinion this is a rip off. The view and the very friendly service can only be good for a 2 star. The fact that there is no menu card online is probably precisely for this reason.

Like everything in Switzerland, very pricey. But what a beautiful spot. View over the valley. A ruin and a group of horses came walking past. Very idyllic

We had to wait a bit for the main course but it was a beautiful day and since the garden is quite large there were a lot of guests there.

The view is great and the ambience is okay but not super special. The food and service are mediocre. In my opinion it is priced too expensive for what it offers.

We ordered dessert at the end. a caramel bowl and a parfait. After 10 minutes he came and said the parfait wasn't ready yet and whether I still wanted my caramel bowl... Of course I asked for the bill! no apology or a coffee on the house which would have been the minimum for me.. what a shame.. Food and local are otherwise great!

A wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed the beautiful view on the terrace. The food was very good. The waitress (Mr. Crispim) was very friendly and attentive. We haven't had such great service in a long time 😊. Prices... well you pay a little for the view 😉. But it's worth it 🤗

Very child-UNFRIENDLY! No help from service with the stairs with the stroller. Boss doesn't want you to put the stroller next to him at the table. Just how they want it. That's why I can't have my baby next to me. Service lady very very rude! When I didn't agree, she gossiped about my decision to the other guests! NoGo!

Very unfriendly service staff. Food was OK. Dog-unfriendly, even though we had a small dog with us. What a shame! We cannot recommend the Schlosshof restaurant in Dornach to dog owners. We didn't receive a bowl of water for the dog, even though it was very hot (around 30 degrees). We had to walk around the restaurant so the dog could drink.

It was excellent. Spontaneous reservation (45 minutes in advance). View and ambience very nice. Food TOP! (Had bison fillet). Service very attentive and warm. We're already looking forward to the next time.

Very fine food, beautifully prepared. Top menu, everything your heart desires. Wonderful view in great weather. The Dornach ruins are also worth a visit. It is advisable to reserve a table. I'd be happy to come back when I'm passing through.

The food is ok if it weren't for the high price and the price/performance ratio isn't right. Staff already stressed at 6 p.m. The bald-headed waiter should practice smiling in front of the mirror and greet the customer a little more warmly, even if there is no reservation. But what really bothers me is the bill, which was overcalculated by 3 items. So over 30 francs overcharged for things we hadn't ordered at all. That shouldn't be the case and it has a bitter aftertaste The ambience on the terrace with the great view of the valley is positive. Conclusion: expensive turilocal for 30 years always the same problem with the staff And you learn that the customer is king and doesn't want to be attacked because the dog was in the way - that could be seen in a nicer way.

We spontaneously came here for lunch after a hike: very hospitable, excellent service, excellent, home-style cuisine. The restaurant is located above Dornach with a very nice view, especially from the large terrace. We will come back.

The restaurant is really great. The view is magnificent and the restaurant is lovingly and tastefully decorated. The service was extremely friendly and the food was really delicious. We will be back. 😃

Only has positive things to say

It is a high point about 15 kilometers away from the center of Basel. The scenery should be good in summer. Most of the business lunches at noon are attended by employees from nearby companies and manufacturers. The curry soup scored 4.3 points, and the risotto rice has a strong white wine smell, 3.9 points.

Very friendly service, excellent food. We were served quickly and the food came quickly. The nut salad with egg and bacon was dressed with a delicious French dressing. The bison steak was buttery soft and the croquettes were delicious. In summer there is a beautiful large terrace with a great view. Only recommended.

It's a shame, we always enjoyed coming back in the summer because of the great view. Unfortunately, one service lady in particular could afford to serve us in a condescending manner on a regular basis when we came without a reservation. A friendly “sorry, we don’t have any more space” is worth more than getting a table but intentionally not being served :-(

Drinking and eating very expensive, quality food not appropriate to the price. The staff didn't speak German and you had to write down what you would like. A child about 10 years old cleared tables all afternoon, even while I was still eating!!! a no go. Another table left because it knocked the nuggi out of him, he also made his opinion known loudly. For me a sentence with x was probably nothing.

The Schlosshof restaurant scores primarily with its fantastic location and the panoramic view, which you can take into account. But it's worth it. Nice, quick service staff, delicious pumpkin soup, good schnitzel - simply a worthwhile excursion restaurant.

Very cheeky boss and arrogant, food sucks

Disastrous service on one day (Sun. 1:30 p.m.) if the view wasn't great and the company of my guests wasn't important, we would have gotten up and left. Service employees shouldn't take their stress out on guests.

After a strenuous hike, we stopped for lunch in the castle courtyard. From the person who took the reservation, to the acceptance of dogs (thank you!), to the brilliant service with a full house and the impeccable food, an absolutely recommendable place to dine. A big compliment to the Schlosshof team! And not to forget the location: it's the icing on the cake.

The food was a disappointment. Clearly finished products, very small portions and the service was unfortunately very inattentive and unmotivated. Only the location and view were very nice.

Very bad reception when we asked to close the parasol, we were told it was wet, which can't be the case when the sun is shining all day and I've never experienced anything so unfriendly and stubborn at 4 p.m. The only trump card they have is the good location...

Traditional cuisine, freshly prepared. The spaetzle looked fresh and very good. Wiener Schnitzel as well. My tomato soup was also freshly prepared and tasted delicious, as did the salad. Together with the beautiful view, the meal becomes an exhilarating culinary experience.

Salmon fillet with fitness salad, both very fine, but for this price the salad side dish was quite lean 🙄Staff friendly but the warmth and attention is missing. Not sales oriented. You don't have to be pushy, but asking every now and then if you want something else isn't wrong in my opinion.

The food was very good and the location is in an excellent location. It is very disturbing and not up to date that the staff is not allowed to serve tap water. Not even if we ordered wine for a total of 120.-. It's not about the cost, you can also charge something for the service if you serve tap water. In a country like Switzerland, where the water quality is so good, you have to give the guest the opportunity to be ecological. This is difficult for me to understand when you look at what is happening to our environment at the moment.

Unfortunately, the spontaneous visit was a bit of a letdown. The reception was as cold as the ice cream we ordered. As soon as we sat down at the table, the waitress told us that the table had to be released soon. There is also a more decent way to tell us this and in a less rude tone. The fact that the table is only marked as reserved while we are sitting at it is not our problem. The ice cream was ok. 2* because of the great view.

We were there for lunch, the price/performance ratio is no longer right🤔 Risotto with vegetables isn't even enough for a woman who isn't hungry🙈 Unfortunately the fries with the cordon bleu weren't crispy either🤨 it's a shame because the service and the view were good. Will not eat there again...

2 stars only because I personally really enjoyed the food and the view was great. However, in addition to the extreme wasp infestation, the service was really a disaster. Not only did we wait for over an hour, Mehrers was also forgotten or even brought incorrectly. The only answer to our attention was that because our order was so complicated, part of the food was now missing. The only “complicated” thing about the order was switching from fries to spaetzle at Cordon Bleu and a request for a normal beef fillet with rice (since we had an elderly person who had recently had an operation with us, which we also communicated). Everything was okay when we took the order, but later they said they didn't have it at all. OK. We weren't even asked whether we would like something to drink with the aperitif or wine with our meal. After the announcement they made to US, they had mainly ignored us. It's a shame because there were more than 10 of us and so they earned well. If they had been friendlier and more attentive, even more so! In the end they gave us too much change back, apparently the bill was too complicated. It's a shame because the location would be beautiful!

Beautiful views, large patio, animals and good food. What more can you ask for?! The staff is pleasant and helpful. We enjoy going here. Proximity to Castle Dornach is also a nice bonus.

Service doesn't seem professional, doesn't listen attentively, but it could also be a “beginner”. Drinks 5.60?! No matter if it's water, a sweet drink or a bar...a bit too excessive. Is the machine broken due to beer foam? Maybe the CO2 FL is empty? That you even bring such a beer 🍺 to the table...zero carbonation, no foam 😅 instead of communicating this openly to the guest and suggesting something else? Lack of competence…a shame. It's unclear whether the owner has changed here...never had an experience like this...(I'm in the restaurant business myself and would never act like that with my guests..)

Prices are rather expensive and service could be friendlier. If you're nice on your own, they're friendly back, but the first thing I heard from a guest when I went into the restaurant was: "We definitely don't give tips..." I was already suspicious. So we were just extra very friendly and were served very nicely.
