Une excellente fondue et un accueil très agréable à une minute de notre hôtel. N’hésitez pas à rentrer dans ce restaurant décoré comme un chalet typique alpin. Personnel chaleureux et très agréable.

Disfrutamos de una deliciosa fondue y una botella de vino anoche. El servicio del personal fue genial, el personal fue cálido y amable y nos hizo sentir bienvenidos. Tuvimos un rato fantástico. La decoración es divertida, tradicionalmente suiza, y disfrutamos muchísimo. Para aquellos de ustedes que reciben los vales de 100 francos. Estancia de 2 + noches en Zermatt, estas también se pueden canjear aquí en este momento.

Sehr authentisches und freundliches Personal. Auch essen 5*! Kleine Anekdote: da meine Frau just als das Essen kam, unser Baby notfallmässig Stillen musste, wurde das Menü wieder in die Küche genommen, das Fleisch warm gemacht und es gab sogar neue Pommes. Hat uns sehr gefreut.

Etwas Versteckt hinter der Bahnhofstrasse befindet sich das Swiss Chalet. Schweizerisch gute Küche. Wir suchten ein feines Raclette und fanden es hier mit 4 verschiedenen Variationen Käse. Dazu einen sehr gelungenen Solis aus dem Wallis

Das Restaurant ist super gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam! Das Fondue Chinoise ist zu empfehlen, 100 Gramm Fleisch pro Person finden wir jedoch als etwas wenig berechnet. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Am letzten Abend meiner Roadtour durch die Schweiz war ich Gast im Swiss Charlet. Es war super gemütlich, man wurde herzlich empfangen und es war genau so wie ich mir ein typisch schweizerisches Restaurant vorgestellt hatte. Die Speisekarte aus Holz war schon ein echter Hingucker, und der Herr der Uns bedient hat super Nett und zuvorkommend. Sowohl ich als auch mein Kollege waren vom Essen begeistert und Wir haben Unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.Klare Empfehlung meinerseits!

Wir sind in das Swiss Chalet auf Empfehlung zum zNacht Raclette essen gegangen. Das Raclette ist top, die Atmosphäre gemütlich und die lokalen Weine sind super empfehlenswert.

Sehr nette Bedienung, freundlich und unkompliziert. Raclette gibt es mit verschiedenen Variationen an Käse. Das Raclette wird auf einem Tischofen selbst zubereitet.

Gutes Essen (Fondue) und vorallem super freundliche und schnelle Bedienung! Preise ebenfalls im Rahmen. Alles tip top wir können das Restaurant nur empfehlen.

Wir hatten Glück und haben zu fünft an einem Samstag Abend ohne Reservierung einen Platz im schönen Stübli bekommen. Der Herr hinter der Theke und unsere Bedienung waren sehr freundlich und herzlich. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und das Fondue war sehr lecker! Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend!

Personale gentilissimo, ristorante tipico che tiene fede al nome, ottima varietà di pietanze tra cui diversi tipi di fondue anche particolari. Ottima posizione, vicino alla via principale ma discosto al punto giusto.

Locale molto carino, tipico di montagna. Abbiamo ordinato la fondue chinoise, ma ahimè come dicono le altre recensioni la carne di manzo se lasciata qualche secondo in più diventa dura. Mentre vitello e pollo sono tenerissimi. Buona l’insalata mista, patatine fritte e le salse che accompagnano la chinoise.

In einer Seitenstrasse der Bahnhofstrasse liegt das nette Restaurant. Trotz vieler Gäste war der Service nett und zügig. Das Fondue und das Raclette waren sehr gut.

Hervorragende Schweizer Küche. Sehr freundliches Personal. Aktuell (Sommer 2020) unbedingt reservieren sonst gibts frühestens ab 21:00 Uhr einen Tisch.

Autant le patron que les serveuses sont efficaces et sympathiques. Le fromage est bon, oui mais dommage qu'il ne soit pas raclé en demi-meule, sur un four classique, comme on serait en droit d'attendre en Valais ! Le petit appareil pour deux, qui fait fondre le fromage par-dessous est pratique mais loin d'égaler l'appareil traditionnel... Sympa pour les étrangers, peut-être, mais helvètes, vous risquez fort d'être déconcertés voire déçus malgré le joli accompagnement de légumes au vinaigre.Prix ok pour Zermatt.

J'ai mangé dans ce swiss chalet en juillet.Correct MAIS....l'on m'a placée dans le fond du restaurant,face au mur et surtout à 3 mètres des sanitaires ,dont l'entrée n'est pas séparée de la salle de restaurant. Ainsi ,tout en mangeant,on a les clients qui passent tout tout près de nous pour entrer et sortir des sanitaires. On entend tout le temps le.lavabo ET la chasse d'eau. J'ai écrit au patron pour suggérer un petit aménagement..SANS RÉPONSE..

Restaurant rustique très sympa, avec une petite terrasse, sur une rue tranquille derrière la rue principale. Beau choix de mets typiques y compris de belles fondues à la viande, bourguignonne excellente!

Wir waren am ersten Abend unseres Aufenthaltes hier essen Ich muss sagen es war alles perfekt das Essen hat hervorragend geschmeckt die Bedienung sehr freundlich was heut zu Tage nicht mehr so selbstverständlich ist alles im allen ein gelungener Abend

Très beau restaurant au style typique suisse et proposant des plats suisses.Nous étions 7 dont 2 enfants et nous avons été très bien reçus. La fondue et la raclette à discrétion nous ont régalé.Rapport qualité/prix excellent.

Les serveurs étaient très sympathiques mais : 1. La fondue était un peu liquide (bien que celle aux truffes aie bien un goût de truffes2. Le "menu fondue" avec l'assiette de charcuterie était excessivement cher au vu de la quantité de viande...3. Le prix du café gourmand était injustifié. 5.- plus cher que n'importe quel autre dessert pour une mini boule de glace, une tranchette de cake, 2 tranches de kiwi et une mini soupe de fruits exotiques au basilic...4. la crème brûlée était brûlée avec un alcool, résultat, le dessert avait un goût d'alcool t nous n'avions pas été prévenus (le dessert a été servi à un enfant). Il n'y avait pas la fameuse couche croquante caractéristique des crèmes brûlées. Jolie déco

Tolles und gemütliches Ambieten abseits von der Bahnhofstrasse. Kleine Karte mit hauptsächlichen Auswahl an Fleisch und Käsefondue. Super schneller Service, gute Portionen alles in allem einen Aufenthalt wert.

I arrived for dinner without a reservation, and was immediately seated at the bar. I recommend you make a reservation, this is a popular spot. I'm sure its popular because the food was outstanding. The server (owner?) at the bar was friendly and welcoming. The traditional Swiss decor was charming, and it was nice and warm inside on a cold winter night. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time. Several selections of wine, beer, and some other drinks available. I enjoyed a flaming Crème brûlée for dessert. You can't go wrong choosing the Swiss Chalet for your meal.

Seit vielen Jahren gehört das Swiss Chalet zum Fixpunkt unserer Zermattferien. Der Wirt und sein Personal sind aufmerksam und flexibel. Das Essen ist von guter Qualität bei angemessenen Preisen. Spezialwünsche werden berücksichtigt, auch für ein persönliches Gespräch ist kurz Zeit. Bis zum nächsten Mal.

It is a nice traditonal Swiss restaurant. Food is definetely good, service is excellent. Tables close to the kitchen may smell cheese all of the night :))

A traditional Swiss restaurant with lots of charm and friendly service. Helpings were very large so we were able to share pots of cheese fondue and meat amongst us. Lovely night!!

Was their for Dinner with my GF and Sister and her Dog, got a nice spacious table for the 4 of us. Had a bottle of champagne plus a local Merlot, both very good. Our waiter Leonor from Portugal was excellent and fun to talk to. Food was average (Raclette cheese was not so awesome, although the Safran Cheese had the edge, ask for that one if you want the real thing), my sister's Beed Stroganoff was good. So all in all a good experience and I would recommend the place. About the rating: I give it a good but TripAdvisor allows only 3 for average vs 4 for very good (doesn't make any sense btw), so a solid good. Go there and have fun

We had a fantastic, traditional Swiss meal in the Swiss Chalet. The food was fantastic, a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We will most definitely be back again. Thank you for helping to make our most recent stay in Zermatt a special one.

Seit nunmehr 10 Jahren besuchen wir Zermatt regelmässig und sind ob der Vielfallt der kulinarischen Genüssen regelrecht erfreut.Das Swiss Chalet empfanden wir bis anhin als sehr schönen Ort um einzukehren, denn die Serviceangestellten waren stets korrekt und äusserst freundlich uns gegenüber.Das Essen und die Abiance waren immer ein Garant für einen schönen und gemütlichen Abend.Besonders das Stübli hat es uns angetan, hübsch und sehr heimelig.So viel zu den positiven Punkten.Der Besitzer, meiner Meinung nach schon immer ein eigenartiger Zeitgeist, hat das Gefühl er müsse sich an keine oder zumindest wenige Regeln halten was seine Gäste anbelangt.Reservationen, besonders jene welche im Stübli gemacht wurden, werden entweder ignoriert oder gar ganz gestrichen. One of our favorite restaurants in Zermatt. Nice atmosphere, good food, reasonably priced and great service. The waitresses have worked here for years and are very friendly and even suggest cheaper options when they make more sense (like ordering just 3 portions of Fondue for a party of 4 including 2 children, indeed it was plenty). We loved the Fondue Bourgegnonnne. Recommended!

Seit Jahren schon gehen wir in das besagt Restaurant,aber der Erfolg ist dem Wirt in den Kopf gestiegen.Wir reservieren Immer genug imVorraus weill wir gerne im Stübli sitzen was bis dato auch immer funktioniert hatt.Dieses mals platzierte uns der Chef an einen Tisch vis a vis der Küche und alls wir ihm sagten,das dies so nicht abgemacht war und wir im stübli reserviert hätten sagte er nur,är hätte jetzt eine grosse gruppe dort und das sei halt so...Bei ihm zählt der Stammkunde nicht mehr und sieht nur noch den profit,schaden den sein Team ist immer stets bemüht freundlich und zuvorkommend zu sein!Leidee ist es nicht mehr zu empfehlen!!!

Wir waren an einem Freitag Abend im Swiss Chalet ....Tisch war bestellt ..bereits beim Bestellen wurde uns mitgeteilt da§ bei Bestellung von nur einem Fondue also u.B Fondue moitie moitie und Fondue Tomate Aufpreis von jeweils 3 sfr verlangt wird .es muß immer 2x das gleiche Fondue bestellt werden .leider war der Service im weiteren Verlauf gleichfalls nicht nur schlecht auch unfreundlich ebenso das Essen ...Fondue schlecht ..Fleischgericht viel zu wenig fūr 38 sfr ein .. Raclette fūr 29 sfr soll 200 Gramm gewesen sein...es waren gerade mal 4 Scheiben lächerlich ...alles einfach nur überteuert und schlecht im Swiss Chalet Zermatt ..... ... ....es geht aber auch anders ...Beispiel im Restaurant Du Pont in Zermatt ...top Service top Essenund .B. auch kein Aufschlag falls zwei verschiedene Kãsefondues bestellt werden ....Aber der Chef vom Swiss Chalet wird wahrscheinlich als Kommentar wieder ...alles Stuss schreiben...ein Wunder und nicht nachvollziehbar daß so ein Resto Bestand hat....

I went there with my family and we ate a swiss Fondue. It was so delicious! For dessert we ate a swiss chocolate Fondue with fruits, best part of the dinner! The service was amazing we loved the people there! Definitly a place to recommend and we will definitly go there again!

Cadre et serveuse très sympathiques, la serveuse nous a fort bien acceuillis. Dommage toutefois qu'il n'y ait pas de garniture proposée et que lorsque l'on demande quelques légumes avec la viande ou quelques feuilles de salade, l'établissement ne soit pas flexible et nous facture le prix complet d'une salade.

Wir hatten heute Abend ein schönes Essen hier. Wir hatten alle das Käsefondue mit Speck und Zwiebeln. Es war sehr lecker und sehr angenehm. 2 von uns hatten dann das Schokoladenfondue mit Früchten zum Pudding. Es war wundervoll. Was für ein fabelhaftes Essen. Die Angestellten waren sehr aufmerksam und toll mit unserer Tochter. Ein grossartiges Schweizer Erlebnis.

The restaurant is a little pricy for the value but the fondue was great. I suggest the bacon onion cheese fondue.

Il locale è molto carino e in tipico stile chalet. Abbiamo ordinato la fondue chinoise, ma la carne di manzo era dura. Durissima. Roba da slogarsi le mascelle per masticarla. Ho immediatamente avvisato la cameriera, che mi ha detto avrebbe avvisato la cucina. Non si è più vista.... non ci è stata sostituita la carne e nessuna scusa.Al termine ho preso 1 (di numero) amaro e chiesto il conto. Ci è stato addebitato tutto, penso che come minimo almeno l'amaro avrebbero potuto offrirlo vista la qualità scadente della carne, per la quale non si paga poco!Estremamente delusi, non torneremo più.

Typisch Zwitsers restaurant het was goed weer dus wij konden buiten zitten want anders kun je gelijk al je kleren in de was gooien wat een geur! De bediening was vriendelijk onze gastvrouw sprak veel verschillende talen en gaf ons goed advies we wilde 2 porties aardappelen bestellen maar zij zei dat het teveel zou worden en ze had gelijk de kaasfondue was heerlijk! Lekkere lokale wijn erbij wij hebben heerlijk gegeten!

Wieder kamen wir spontan in dieses Restaurant und hatten die selbe Bedienung wie im Februar 2019!Alles top top - freundlicher speditiver Service und gutes Raclette. A Discretion hat es 2 CHF aufgeschlagen seit dem letzten Mal.Der Chef persönlich verabschiedete uns - wir kommen bestimmt wieder !

Ci siamo fermati in questo ristorante con il nostro gruppo, sapendo che il posto era "caratteristico". In effetti il locale lo è, fatto tutto di legno. Molti del nostro gruppo hanno preso la fondue e pare che fosse soddisfacente a parte il forte sapore di aglio, non specificato tra gli ingredienti e, da molti, non gradito. Io ho solo ordinato 1/2 porzione di patatine fritte. Sono stata servita con una lentezza esasperante vista la semplicità della mia ordinazione: alla fine mi è arrivato un piatto enorme di patatine durissime. Pessime! Le peggiori mai mangiate in vita mia. Non sono riuscita a finirle... Ho chiesto una ricevuta separata dal resto del gruppo, ma mi è stata anche negata. Non so quindi se sia stato addebitato un piatto intero o 1/2. Non si fa! Penso che una richiesta di un cliente vada sempre accontentata anche se può annoiare i gerenti.

Wir hatten Rindfleisch Fondue in Rotwein und Brühe, die Portion war großzügig und es war sehr lecker. Der dazugehörige Salat und die Saucen waren auch sehr lecker. Pommes Frites schienen eine ungewöhnliche Beilage zu sein, aber es war eine großzügige Portion und wir genossen es, sie in alle Saucen zu tauchen.Wir sind zurückgekehrt und hatten lokale Spezialitäten Teller mit Hirsch und Schweinefleisch und sie waren auch sehr lecker. Der Salat unseres Freundes mit Hühnchen war keine gute Wahl, daher empfehlen wir Fondue oder die reichhaltigen lokalen Spezialitäten. Wenn viel los ist, bedienen die freundlichen Kellner mehrere Tische.

No words can describe how disappointed we are with our experience in this restaurant!The food was NOT tasty at all. I would call it a canteen type: but expensive &tasteless.As you can see on the photo that thing with old noodles they call soup...And it’s 17CHF... for that portionRude service, doesn’t speak English at all!Never ever !

Visited the restaurant last night and had an excellent meal. Service was first class & quick and staff friendly. Had the lamb fillet and it was one of the tastiest meals I have had in Zermatt

We had really super evening at tis restaurant. Lovely service, great food and quiet! We chose not to eat there a second time just in case the memory become tainted but do have the raclette, and the pear sorbet with Williams was to die for. Switzerland is very expensive. The meal here for 4 cost about £170 and only one of had wine.

Not so friendly nor very helpful. Agree with a previous post, not very attentive. We had never had Fondue, so we asked what she recommended and did not get any suggestions. Then at the end we were charged double for fondue that was for 2 persons minimum as stated on the menu!!! I would not go back here!

My husband & I wanted to try local Swiss cuisine and this place was recommended to us. However as soon as we started asking the waitress questions about the menu we got a bad feeling we made a mistake in coming here for dinner. Unfortunately we didn’t speak the same language and it was difficult to communicate with our waitress. She really wasn’t helpful at all. So we ordered the cheese fondue which states on the menu it’s for 2. We each got a salad as well. When we got the bill she charged us double for the fondue. Total rip off. We thought about mentioning it to her, but the way our communication was with her already we decided to chalk it up to a tourist trap. We would never recommend this place to anyone. The food was ok. Nothing that wowed is. Just ok. We were really hoping to like this place.

Pretty much just walked in earlier in the afternoon to make a reservation. Zermatt was busy and we thought a reservation somewhere would be a good idea. Selected Swiss Chalet to try traditional Swiss fondue. Our friends ordered the cheese fondue and we ordered meat in a wine fondue so we could share. The food was great. I wouldn't say that our server was super attentive. She rarely checked on us and after a wait, we had to ask for our bill. But overall, we were pleased with the food and experience - the restaurant itself had a fun, Alpine decor.

On our trip down the Rhine, we’d encountered Prawn Cocktail, Steak, Black Forest Gateaux and Riesling - a real kick back to the 70s when we thought we were so sophisticated going to a Berni! So, whilst in Zermatt, why not continue the nostalgia and go for a Fondue?The temperature was still in the high 20s on the evening we visited, so were pleased that we’d reserved an outside table. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and the surroundings - plenty of food, and quality very good. The waitress was very friendly, and at the end of the evening the chef came out to chat to everybody. Fine dining sophistication it isn’t, but rustic charm can often beat foams and purées. We loved it.

Das Restaurant war eigentlich voll, trotzdem wurde uns ein schöner Tisch noch zubereitet. Sehr gutes Essen und ein super Service bei sehr freundlichem und herzlichem Personal - das findet man im "Unterland" einfach nicht mehr. Macht weiter so! Danke für den netten Abend.

My friend and I had a very bad experience at this restaurant tonight. Ordered a salad with chicken and was not told it was a starter and charged extra $5 on bill.The waitress did not explain to me about charge until we got our bill.Then she grabs menu and shows it to us.In small print at bottom of menu.If I would have known this I probably would not have ordered. The salad was the smallest salad I have ever seen and 4 little pieces of chicken. I asked to speak to owner after seeing the charge on my bill he explained 4 people would come in an order one meal and share it and use up space in restaurant. Well when we were there it wasn't even halfway full. Plenty of seats available. The bill was $53.for a small soup my friend ordered too salty to eat, French frys,tiny salad with 4 tiny strips of chicken and 2 Cokes.RIP OFFDont eat there

We had a 3 course fondue dinner here one night and we loved it. The service was great and the food was amazing. We had cheese fondue, filet mignon fondue meal and chocolate fondue dinner (when in Switzerland, right?!). The options for the cheese and chocolate are few (this is not the Melting Pot), but it was great, ever for a semi-picky person like myself. Nice ambience. 3 course fondue for 2 that we got ran about $150, but worth it for an authentic fondue experience in the Swiss Alps!

Visited on a recent trip as we wanted fondue and this place had great reviews and had availability, as we did not have a reservation. The fondue was ok- just break and potatoes, no vegetables . I would not necessarily go back

L'accueil est super chaleureux. Le personnel sympathique vous met à l'aise et trouve toujours une solution à vos désirs. Ces dames font aussi un bel effort pour nous parler en français. Elles nous traitent comme si on se connaissait depuis longtemps. Et la carte est complète à des tarifs qui me semblent légèrement en dessous de la moyenne pratiquée à Zermatt.

This small restaurant is bustling with happy fondue eaters. It’s very quaint and rustic and perfect for our 1st night with in Zermat to get us into the Swiss Alpine Village Mood. We shared a cheese fondue and a meet fondue and that was perfect. Were were offered plenty of additional bread and an extra plate of beef. When finished we were brought small cups and a ladle to finish off the delicious broth...Yum.

Im Swiss Chalet stimmt die Qualität, Service und Preis. Wir waren diese Woche zweimal hier. Einmal haben wir uns für ein Fleischfondue entschieden. Selbstgemachte feine Saucen, gute Beilagen und sehr zartes, geschmackvolles Fleisch.Beim zweiten Besuch haben wir uns für Raclette entschieden. Einfach ein himmlischer Käse mit feinen Kartoffeln.Alles top, wir kommen immer wieder gerne in dieses Restaurant.

Zentral gelegen, gute Karte und herzliche Bedienung. Das Swiss Chalet ist bei uns fix im Programm. Bis nächstes Jahr.

Fomos em um casal as 18:30h, pois sabíamos que era um lugar cheio e que muitas pessoas fazem reservas! Mesmo chegando cedo, só tinha lugares no balcão! Mas mesmo assim o atendimento e o jantar foram ótimos! Preços dignos da Suíça! Heheh Pedimos um fondue de queijo tradicional (25francos suíços por pessoa) e um suco (5 francos por pessoa). Entre os valores suíços, preço acessível ainda. Eu achei o queijo meio forte, levemente apimentado, mas meu marido adorou!! Tem 3 portuguesas que trabalham ali, facilitando a comunicação! We sat at the bar. I had lamb and my husband had beef stroganoff. Both were delicious. For dessert we had a chocalate cake with ooxing centet andvice cream. Delicious!

Wir waren zum ersten Mal im Swiss Chalet und hatten einen sehr schönen Abend im geschmackvoll eingerichteten Stübli. Ausgezeichnet zubereitetes Fleisch mit feinen Beilagen. Sehr zuvorkommender, aufmerksamer Service. Beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Zermatt kommen wir bestimmt wieder!

Cadre sympa et typique. Service agréable mais fondue moitié-moitié sans aucune consistance et sans goût de gruyère ni de vacherin. Déçus.

Prima restaurant met heellijke kaasfondue. We hadden met z'n drieen de pan zo leeg, maar geen probleem! Kaasfondeu en brood werden zo weer aangevuld.

Adrian - der Chef vom Swiss Chalet führt das Haus absolut Spitzenmässig. Man fühlt sich als Gast sehr willkommen und absolut wohl. Das Fondue Chinoise und die Saucen haben unseren Geschmack voll getroffen. Wenn man einmal im Swiss Chalet zu Gast war, kommt man einfach wieder gerne zu einem weiteren Besuch. Witzig war schon die Buchung, ich habe auf der Skipiste den Sohn des Wirtes getroffen und dann von der Piste aus gebucht - das war ein Volltreffer. Bravo Adrian & Team

Comfortable and cozy ambiance in an old building, with wooden menus whose hinges squeak when you open them. Right off the bat you know you came the right place for dinner.Fondue was very good (42CHF/pp for cook-your-own beef), and 25CHF/pp for cheese and dipping potatoes/bread). They even serve Raclette (cheese melted over vegetables - no dipping pot - which is a local Swiss favorite). For dessert we had the chocolate fondue with fruit (13CHF/pp) which was the best we've had in Zermatt.Right next door appeared to be a sports bar - which was tempting - but we figured "when in Switzerland" try a Swiss Chalet. You should choose the same!

We had such a great experience here. We wandered in late on a Sunday night without a reservation and were told we could sit at the bar. We asked the waitress if it might be possible to move to a table later once one opened — we would drink at the bar in the meantime but didn’t mind waiting for food. She was very friendly and accommodating and made it happen for us. We ordered the mushroom fondue and it was the best fondue we had in Zermatt. The restaurant is lovely, the staff are friendly and the food is great. Make a reservation to be safe!

O restaurante é bastante clássico. Atendimento bom. Comemos um Fondue que estava bom, mas nada digno de nota extra. Achei o menu de sobremesas muito reduzido também.

Kurzentschlossener Besuch an einem Samstag Abend. Wir hatten nicht reserviert und erhielten spontan einen Tisch für 2. das Raclette à disc war tip top. Der Preis von 32.— eher an der oberen Grenze. Eine Sorte Käse, auf Teller serviert - Bedienung war sehr zuvorkommend und speditiv. Immer gerne wieder

Was highly recommended, did not disappoint. Filet meat fondue was fantastic. Took our kids and not surprisingly they loved the chocolate fondue for dessert. Very nice wine list too. Service was good too. We'll go again next time we visit Zermatt.

At entrance it could look what a tourist would like to see in Switzerland as a chalet to eat local food... than.. absolutely average fondue and main courses with the disadvantage to have really high price. Normal in zermatt but a bit abusing here.

Inviting interior with welcoming staff. The decor is rustic, and you can suppose Swiss ... The food was good and varied .... a nice fondue and also they made a single raclette portion for me.Only downside was when they wanted to close, they told us and 'almost chased us out'

We hadn't prebooked this restaurant prior to our holiday (as we had with others) but walked past and it looked so pretty we decided to cancel one of our other reservations and try this. So glad we did. We were allocated a table in the Dorfplatz and I mentioned to the excellent waitress how pretty it was and she said it was REALLY pretty in the Stubli section. I asked if it might be possible to move into that section and she made it happen. No fuss, no bother. She was right. It was just gorgeous in there. I had a cordon bleu and hubby had Kalbsgeschnetzeltes “Zürcher Art“ mit Rösti with a lovely green salad to share. Both loved our meals. Then we shared an apple fritters. Crunchy, hot, sugary and sprinkled with cinnamon. Fabulous. So impressed we booked for the following night and cancelled another of our prebooked restaurants. Second night we were 'upgraded' to a bigger table in the Stubli. Another absolutely delightful waitress. Decided on a beef fondue that night. Again, really fabulous. Couldn't resist those apple fritters again. Didn't want to leave so we de-camped to the bar are for a schnapps. Our lovely waitress gave us a try of a housemade speciality schnapps too. The owner (or we assume him to be) was super friendly and welcoming and kept a good eye on everything at all times. This was our first time in Zermatt and it won't be our last. The Swiss Chalet will be our 'local' restaurant every visit now. The one we enjoyed most of all on our trip.

Wir waren zu Viert im Swiss Chalet zum Nachtessen. Das Essen war super zubereitet. Obwohl alle etwas anderes Bestellt haben, kam alles gleichzeitig, heiss und jedes Fleisch perfekt zubereitet. Klare Weiterempfehlung!

Wir als regelmässige Zermatt-Besucher waren das erste Mal im Swiss Chalet. Der Aufenthalt in diesem kleinen schmucken Restaurant hat uns auf der ganzen Linie überzeugt. Das Essen (Fondue) war sehr lecker und der Service top! Wir werden sehr gerne wieder kommen.

Fui com a minha família (5 pessoas) e por ser alta temporada e não termos feito reserva (necessário), o restaurante estava lotado para o jantar. Mas foram atenciosos e nos ofereceram o balcão, que para nós já estava ótimo.Além do founde, pedimos o raclete. Estava tudo muito bom. Lembrando que o founde de queijo, que foi o que pedimos, vem com opção de pão ou batata. Como pedimos 2, que é suficiente para 2 pessoas, pedimos um de cada tipo.Até hoje é difícil de acreditar, mas duas garçonetes portuguesas, super simpáticas e atenciosas davam conta de todo o salão, que lembrando estava lotado, torno de 80 pessoas ou mais. Uma dica é pedir a tap water (água da torneira), que na Suíça é limpa e permitido o consumo. Além de que não é cobrado. Preço justo e ótima qualidade. Lembrando que Zermatt por ser praticamente 100% turística, é indicado realizar reserva para jantares.

Sehr feines und kleines Restaurant. Hatten sehr feines Fondue gegessen. Preis/Leistung war sensationell. Die Kellnerin war äusserst freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir empfehlen dieses Restaurant sehr!

Wir waren zum Abschluss unseres Zermattaufenthaltes im Swiss Chalet zum Abendessen. Hatten im Voraus reserviert, was zu empfehlen ist.Wir waren wirklich rundum begeistert. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Essen lecker und die Portionen grosszügig bemessen und das alles zu einem sehr fairen Preis. Wir hatten das Käsefondue Menu mit einer Walliserplatte zur Vorspeise, Käsefondue zum Hauptgang und einem leckeren Birnensorbet mit Schuss zum Dessert und das ganze für Sage und Schreibe CHF 38.— pro Person.Neben Käsefondue bietet das Restaurant typisch schweizerische Spezialiäten. Das Ambiente im Chalet-Stil wär schön und heimelig.

Calorosa accoglienza e simpatia. Non avendo prenotato, ci hanno proposto di cenare al banco. Comodo e piacevole. Fonduta per 2 persone e 2 birre medie 60 franchi. Onesto e tipico.

Had dinner here with my family on a cold winter's night. We hadn't made a reservation and so were only left with countertop seats, but the service they rendered us was just as lovely. I really enjoyed the Zurich veal dish. The cheese fondue was, to me, a little to heavy on the wine, which made it a little too bitter for my liking. The interior decor created a warm homely atmosphere, and we could tell it was a place people frequented, which was nice to see. Was it pricey? A little; but this is Switzerland, in the tourist town of Zermatt, so I think it's alright.

予約なしでしたが開店と同時に入り、外のテーブルでチーズフォンデュをいただきました。野菜がなくパンだけのチーズフォンデュは飽きますが１人分を2人でシェアしていいと言ってもらえて、お肉のグリルなど他のメニューも食べることが出来て良かったです。ホルスタイン柄のパン入れや小花に縁どられたお皿など、テーブルセットがかわいらしく、店員さんもフレンドリーで楽しく食事できました。日本人ツアーの利用もあるようです。

到達策馬特的第一個晚餐，蔬菜湯 主菜德國香腸搭配煎馬鈴薯挫簽的大鍋餅的其中一塊，chef 調味也許很隨興，同團的朋友有人說是旅行以來最不鹹的，但同桌的4人都覺得口味太重，飯後甜點 提拉米蘇 值得推薦。

Nous avons pris une fondue au fromage. Elle est correcte, sans plus. Le service est très agréable, rien à redire. Le cadre est sympa. Dans l'ensemble on a passé un bon repas, mais je n'y retournerai pas pour une fondue. Les prix sont conformes à Zermatt, élevés.

The decor here is warm and welcoming. The menu is standard Swiss fare. We ordered the 1/2-1/2 fondue. The cheese itself was really good - not the best I've had but better than average. It was served with fresh brown bread - and this to me was disappointing. Fondues are traditionally served with slightly stale (like, 1/2 day to day-old) white bread with a decent crust. This way, the cheese softens the bread, and sticks into the various bread crevasses. This sounds persnickety, but trust me, it's not! The fresh brown bread just doesn't do the fondue service. And speaking of service, at Swiss Chalet the servers were brusque - not bad, just not warm or fun. There are many places to have fondue in Zermatt, and I would shop around next time.

Such a charmingly decorated restaurant. You feel warm and comfortable the moment you walk in. Excellent cheese fondu and you can order mini potatoes to go with it beside the bread. So good and excellent service that we came back twice on our stay in Zermatt. Kid friendly items and a kids menu as well for those travelling with children.
