Restaurant Winteregg in Lauterbrunnen

Winteregg restaurant is a perfect stopover when hiking to or from Mürren or enjoying the nearby piste. The restaurant offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, where we got some drinks and snack. The staff are welcoming and attentive, adding to the inviting atmosphere. Great stop when you're in need of a refreshment during your outdoor adventure.

Actually everything you could imagine or wish for - great view, great house... unfortunately the lady who served us was just unfriendly and impossible. We picked up our drinks ourselves from the restaurant and then went to the table to spontaneously eat something else. Then she comes like a fury and says the tables on the other side are for self-service. And the sound was so impossible! Well, we didn't order anything to eat and I reported this "person" to the boss. Rarely have we experienced something so impossible - it's a shame. Well, we ate well at the nearest refreshment stop and had a few drinks - the service there was friendly and the food was great

The new team is extremely friendly. You can tell that the mood is right, which has a positive effect on the guest. We had sandwiches that were freshly made and really tasty.

Walked here from Grutschalp. Unbelievable views from the patio dining area. We ordered the fitness plate with sausage. Fresh tender lettuce and veggies with delicious sausage. Excellent! Also had the Swiss schwartz bier- definitely recommend.

Restaurant with its own train station, halfway from Grütschalp to Mürren. It's spacious indoors and has a nice terrace with playground outdoors as well. Great place for lunch or a drink when walking (part of) the footpath that runs more or less parallel to the train tracks. Basic Swiss food.

There isn't even anything cold to eat before 11:30. Desirable for hikers while there.

A good restaurant half way along the railway line from Grütschalp to Mürren. It has a large terrace with some fun games. The crazy snooker is particularly amusing. The views across to the Eiger and Jungfrau are spectacular. Playing crazy games with such amazing views seems to heighten the fun!

Everything delicious. Very nice service (a lady from Portugal), everything was served beautifully and with humor... and a wonderful atmosphere and views. I would highly recommend.

The view from this restaurant is second to none. It makes the perfect stop if you are coming or going from Murren. They have a large food and drink menu as well as excellent desserts. There is a large patio with tables, chairs, and umbrellas for enjoying the exceptional view of the Eiger, Monch, and JungFrau. There is a ping pong table and other outdoor game sets. The restaurant is set up on a hill right outside the train station and could not be more convenient to get to. There are several walking trails that start from or go by this train station, making the restaurant an ideal stopping point.

No photos are needed to confirm this culinary experience! A mountain restaurant with a host who fulfills his dream of a good, middle-class mountain restaurant and also lives it out with his team. The food selection is original and so is the variety of drinks. All in all; Some innkeepers and restaurants can take an example from the Lauterbrunnen region of what it really means to “host with ❤️”.

When its high season,and all pistes are opened,here you may find some more relaxing and laid back environment. Fresh made food,good drinks and one of the best panorama s of the Jungfrau Region! Price/quality is decent and swiss standard here. Indoor and outdoor facilities.

They have both English and German menus. The local wine was great. The food and service was good. Outdoor seating was great on a sunny day.

A resturant with great terrace view to the mountains that are full of snow. Different kind of food even for vegetarians as well as a delicious soup. There is a ski station beside in addition to train station. I usually go there each year and in my opinion it used to be Tip Top but this time they need to pay attention for work structure and the services.

Were there during the Lauberhorn race. We actually want to watch the descent on TV. Apparently the TV was broken. And the service in the self-service part was also very unpleasant! They all want to be in the serviced part of the restaurant to collect more money! The TV in the serviced part works... We'll look for another restaurant to have lunch in the future.

Beautiful sun terrace with an amazing view. They offer vegan and vegetarian options. The vegan meatloaf was pretty good but the fries with herb salt were the best fries I’ve ever had.

The Älplerzmorgen has been an unparalleled pleasure for years.

I was very satisfied with their Fitness Plate (Fitness-Teller) with vegan "meatloaf" served with a vegan salad. Amazing views!

We passed here on the hiking trail between Mürren and the Grütschalp train station. And it was worth it again. The service is friendly and helpful, plus delicious food combined with the great view, we always enjoy coming here. Keep it up.

We wanted to enjoy the August 1st brunch. When we arrived we were offered a table with banquet benches. Very inconvenient for older guests with health problems. The sun was laboriously counteracted with 3 small parasols. Unfortunately, the buffet can no longer be compared to 10 years ago. Empty plates were not filled for a long time. No more Alp butter, but portion butter from a large distributor. Nutella or nut nougat cream are not available. From around 11 a.m. there was still grilled food and salad. The service staff didn't mention this at all. A bottle of Henniez costs an impressive CHF 14. An exciting factor calculation... When we wanted to pay, the lady from the service explained that this table had already been paid for and that we didn't actually know who was paying here... Despite repeated questions, she insisted that that everything except the mineral water had been paid for. Later in the afternoon it turned out that this was not the case. Standee of the day: The extremely willing man at the grill, very customer-oriented and friendly! Tip for the hosts: Try and compare with other providers, such as the dairy brunch in the Emmental cheese dairy.

Superb view and rather decent dishes, the rösti is quite large and good and the cheese on top was magnificent. The prices are those of Switzerland in general, so correct for me.

The minimum of a dessert menu compared to earlier the waiter gave the excuse that we are in the mountains.

There were only two people in the service. But we had the large terrace well under control, despite lunch service. We only ordered one drink and were still served in a friendly manner. Food looked excellent. Unfortunately we weren't hungry yet

The view of the Eiger is beautiful, but you also pay for that (or is it for the new construction of this restaurant?). We ordered exactly the same thing here as the day before at another restaurant at the same height and with a comparable accessibility and view and it was at least 25% more expensive here than there :-(

If the table had also been cleaned, there would have been enough for 4. But not like that. Otherwise the service was friendly and good.

Last weekend I went hiking with my wife in and around Gimmelwald. When we visited Winteregg, we were warmly welcomed and served immediately. I was completely satisfied here and can only recommend the location

Oh well. The cozy and friendly Winteregg of old no longer exists. Sure, the terrace and the view are great, but I can also enjoy it on a bench along the way. The map has shrunk noticeably. The few staff are stressed and unfriendly. Hygiene measures are not adhered to by the staff; the service employee constantly wore her mask under her nose. We had to wait 30 minutes until we were finally allowed to order. Some guests left the restaurant annoyed. The food is average. Portions rather small for these prices. Winteregg is clearly no longer an insider tip. We definitely won't come by your place again.

We had a cozy lunch break. Prices are reasonable, if not cheap for the location, fresh and served with love. Family atmosphere. Children can pass the time on the great playground, while adults enjoy themselves on the beautiful terrace. Definitely plan a stop here :-)
