Restaurant zur Burestube in Buchs (AG)

Well, after probably about 10 years, back in the Burestube (after a drunken binge with the successors of the long-time landlady). They weren't at the helm for very long, after that it was closed for a long time, etc. So, this evening we came up with the idea of ​​stopping by there again. Was it worth? Unfortunately we have to say: No! We particularly noticed the lady who served us very negatively. The greeting was so-so, when we just garnished the tuna salad and ordered the fireman's plate, things went down a notch again - her already sloppy visage became even grumpier - of course, we just ordered something simple like that! The cutlery that was not needed was rudely taken away. Even otherwise, this lady just strutted around the restaurant with a grumpy expression on her face - she obviously really enjoys her work - sorry, something like that just doesn't work, a total turn-off for me! The salads were ok, the fireman's plate was a bit salty. Well, this visit was probably the last, there are simply better restaurants in the area. We said goodbye, but were ignored... We would have been better off heading to a nice restaurant in Gretzenbach, as we had initially planned... Well, as the saying goes: you're usually wiser afterwards - it's totally true here.

The two of us had dinner today. Was very tasty. Nut salad was nowhere as good as here. Cordonbleu and pork steak with all the side dishes were very good. Can highly recommend this restaurant. Service was also very nice and accommodating. Keep it up!

Good Rösti, the veal was far too tough due to poor advice. The question in advance as to whether the meat for veal slices is well cooked as a standard was answered in the affirmative. When I commented that the meat was far too tough (like very heavily fried pork), I was told that it is normally fried saignantly. Great. You can also fry the meat well and it is still very tender, but if this is not done in a standard way, the chefs rarely have it under control and/or the quality of the product is not suitable for it.

Mixed salad, cordon bleu with fries and vegetables, dessert and coffee: The salad was forgotten and there was no free coffee as compensation. The cordon bleu was tasty, the fries were quite thin but tasty, the vegetables were a joke. Dessert very large portion and tasty, coffee also fine. Service staff where they forgot the salad twice spoke German but... hmm well, I think it's difficult to find serving staff, so I'll leave the criticism out here.

I ate a Buurestube salad, which was good, the sauce was a bit too watery for my taste with a vinegar taste, the chicken strips were finely seasoned but a little dry, the mushrooms were terrifically tasty. Price a bit high for this menu. Service staff could be more motivated and committed. Pleasant to sit outside under the trees. Dessert (Coupe Danemark) was also fine.

Once again we had a wonderful meal and very friendly service, a successful visit, I'll be back! Thanks to the whole Burestube team!

We were disappointed with today's visit. Six out of eight people ordered menu 1. Unfortunately there were two different menu cards in circulation (one from yesterday and one from today). As a result, four people were served the “wrong” food. When this was pointed out, the staff's reaction was dismissive. The staff apologized later. Of course mistakes can happen, but we would have expected a different reaction. Menu 2 was with veal. But we were unsure whether veal was actually served as the meat was rather fatty. At least the people who were served the “wrong” food were given coffee. It's a shame, we always appreciated the Burestube.

Home-style gastronomy in the heart of Buchs. We were there for lunch and it was delicious. Fast and friendly service. The ambience is rustic and a highlight in the inn is the working tiled stove where you can warm yourself on the cold winter days. It is also possible to rent a hall or a conference room. This is also equipped with a projector. Go by and test it out!

Unfortunately, the food didn't convince me. Poorly seasoned, vegetables out of the water and the fries (very thin) were way too hard and the chicken breasts were still raw inside. Ordered dessert without cream, but it was served with cream. So I had to wait again until it was served without it. Staff is overwhelmed. For me it remains the only visit to the Burestube.

We went to lunch today, the food was simply sensational. We ate the cordon bleu. The meat was so tender that you could crush it with your tongue. This year I was at the class reunion in this sensational restaurant with my school class Eating was already a sensation back then. I can only highly recommend this restaurant. We drove to Buchs from Winterthur and, as expected, were not disappointed.

The two of us were at the Burestube restaurant on a Sunday evening. As part of the 2 for 1 promotion we ate two excellent fillet steaks. The quality of the meat was very good, fried to perfection. The side dishes (fries and vegetables) were also fresh, crunchy and delicious. The wine selection was appropriate and we enjoyed it very much. We were very happy to receive a little greeting from the kitchen. We'll definitely be back!

Depending on the time, there is also space for large buses and coaches. In summer there is a garden terrace (beer garden) and even a covered barn. About the food: Rather expensive, but always tasty. It's also a mystery to me who defines the size of the portions on the plates. From far too little (e.g. tortellini, croquettes with sliced ​​meat, ...) to too much (salad with mountains of meat). It's often a lottery (hence a point deducted). Tip: The more expensive the dish, the more there seems to be on it. But still not for craftsmen and hungry people (unless you order a supplement).
