The Gasthof Riedboden is one of those increasingly rare gems where quality, service and price/performance are still 100% right. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the cozy Riedboden. The service was courteous and very attentive. And the bill at the end was a pleasant surprise for once, as the prices here are more than fair. We'd love to come back!

I have been to many restaurants and this by far lands in my top 5%. From wonderful service, to a keen understanding of a gluten free meal, to being surrounded by locals, this spot does not disappoint.

Lunch was served very quickly after ordering. The service was friendly and quick. My first impression in this short time was good. The atmosphere was relaxed and there was a great view outside. The food was good, home-style and there was enough. The selection of the daily menu was good. The prices were good. Gladly again.

The ideal place to indulge in traditional Swiss, fine culinary delights at a very fair price. Under the lime trees you can enjoy not only delicious dishes but also a breathtaking view of the Bernese Oberland. The evening hours are particularly recommended in summer: While it can still be very hot in Thun and Interlaken, it is already significantly cooler in Riedboden and there is always a refreshing breeze. Absolutely perfect in hot summers!

Nice restaurant with real Swiss dishes. This is the right place to eat if you are looking for traditional Switzerland, which unfortunately has often been lost.

We happened to visit this place on the last day of our 10-day trip to Switzerland. We were very lucky with this, because we got excellent food, at a really reasonable price, with smiling, kind service. The environment is also charming, it is highly recommended to visit here. (we just ate)

We were only there for a dessert, but it was very worth it: very friendly service, delicious creams and ice creams! The place and the view are worth the trip.

The restaurant is very delicious, the staff is excellent, and the general atmosphere is very nice. I ordered steak 🥩 and pasta, all of which were delicious 👍🏼.

We had a wonderful meal and were served in a friendly manner. The prices are fair and it even has a small playground with rabbits for the kids.

Great restaurant. We were here for lunch and found the service very friendly and accommodating. The food came quickly and tasted like good home cooking. The prices are fair for Swiss standards. Above all, we liked the pleasant atmosphere and the great location. I can highly recommend stopping off after a long hike.

The food was refined with different things, vegetables were fresh and not canned, meat was very tender and the sauce was awesome! Kitchen highly recommended and the service was courteous and extremely friendly. Price low, i.e. absolutely inexpensive!!! We would love to go there again!!!

The restaurant was recommended to us. We tried to make a reservation for the evening by phone, but were rudely turned away. "We're not here today." Bang, done. Although there is something different on the internet. Nevertheless, we made a second attempt and planned our hike specifically to visit the highly rated restaurant. We were there at 11:55 a.m. There were still two free seats at several tables. But this time we were simply made to look stupid and greeted with great reluctance. My husband then went into the restaurant and asked if there were two seats left. “I don’t think so,” came the snippy reply. Like others before us, we didn't feel welcome and looked for another restaurant. It's a shame when success gets to you so much that you can no longer be friendly.

It's a shame you drive to Beatenberg specifically to visit the great restaurant and then you're turned away because it's full (or you don't want additional guests?) I have no idea why there were tables free after a walk but we didn't feel welcome and so let it go... As a host you should think about how you approach and deal with your guests... So not again for us...

Nice, food good, price performance very good. Daily menu 19.50 with salad, daily menu, paste was good and hamburger with vegetable gratin. Something new as served but ok. I liked the fries. Great view, nice service.

If you are on a hike on the Beatenberg, this small but nice mountain pub offers traditional cuisine for when you are very hungry or just a small snack. If you just want to quench your thirst, this is of course the right place for you. Unfortunately, when the weather is nice there is not always a free table without a reservation.

It doesn't work at all! I asked the waiter whether the soup of the day contained milk/cream. She replied in the affirmative, but recommended that I take the goulash soup, as it contained neither cream nor milk. To our surprise, the goulash soup came with a huge portion of cream. After I asked - I wouldn't have ordered that - if I could have a new one without cream, the waitress apologized and said she had forgotten, but came back with the same soup and I either had to order and pay for another soup at my own expense or I'll take this as it stands. It's a shame-miserable service!

On a normal Wednesday we signed up for dinner at 1 p.m. The terrace was occupied as was the dining room. Nevertheless, we were served very friendly. The food was great (rich Bernese platter as a daily menu) We can highly recommend this restaurant.

Very nice terrace, tasteless rösti, burnt sausage, overcooked vegetables, bad coffee with milk, good homemade apple cake, friendly service except I ordered an apple cake without cream, got a lot of cream on the apple cake, would have had to wait again for an apple cake without cream, so I took it in an.The cream was still included on the bill.

Two nights in a beautiful room with lots of wood and a beautiful view. Rich breakfast buffet and very good farm cuisine. Price, performance perfect. Nice host family and employees. To recommend.

Restaurant is very good, we have been there several times. Today we stopped by for a snack. Unfortunately we had to wait 20 minutes for a piece of cake. Unfortunately, the service staff reacted unfriendly when I complained. I would have expected a little more professionalism. The Covid certificate is also not checked inside.

With such unfriendly staff with 0 business interest we left. That's why we couldn't try the food! Apparently this restaurant doesn't need it!
