Simple and tasty. There's something for all tastes. Family atmosphere and always very courteous staff. You can also find traditional dishes.

Ate the Cassueola...excellent, accompanied by a good Bondola. Recommended for all lovers of these delicacies.

I went to the grotto for a company dinner, I'm vegan but I'm always happy with simple things, enough company is my motto... I obviously went without too high expectations... we know that in grottos the specialty is mainly meat, I gave 5 stars, all deserved for the effort.... I had an excellent salad as a starter, a first course with polenta and vegetable ragout and a second course with tofu and potatoes cooked very well..... really compliments.... ambiance warm and friendly, very kind and smiling staff.... really great place

Contrattempi grotto restaurant in Losone on the route from Siberia from Ascona towards Losone ... We ate fondue, good... with potatoes or bread. Unfortunately we also wanted to take a small plate of Ticino cured meats or dried meat.... but not on the menu and in my opinion it is missing... Good and attentive table service

We came spontaneously for lunch and chose the lunch menu based on a recommendation. The food was really delicious! A very fine and fresh mixed salad and oven-baked chicken with fries. You can tell that people cook here themselves and with passion. The stay was made even better by the very friendly service. The lady gave us the best advice and was extremely attentive and so nice! I would like it to always be that way :) Thank you!

A somewhat hidden Osteria with an attractive menu and friendly service. Highly recommended in the heat, as there is a shady garden with stone tables. The locals come here too!

Very good Osteria with fine dishes. The stone tables or stone benches under the trees are particularly eye-catching in the warm season. The Cordon Bleu with risotto and vegetables was very good and the portion size was good. But the typical Ticino dishes are also always worth a visit. Price-performance is good and the service is attentive and very friendly. We'd love to come back.

Friendly staff, the braised meat is supper and the salads are fresh. The risotto with red wine is not our taste, but it is creamy and true. Supper wines at reasonable prices.

Un amour de service grâce à Antonella ! Adorable toute la soirée pour que nous permettre de passer une merveilleuse soirée. J’ai réservé le jour même à 17h pour 9 personnes et nous avons eu la chance d’obtenir une jolie table. Nous avons demandé quel était la spécialité et elle nous a conseillé : Polenta e il brasato della nonna al Merlot. Un vrai enchantement !!!! Un grand MERCI pour cette magnifie soirée !

Wir erhielten einen Tisch im schönen Garten unter den schattigen Bäumen. Leider gab es wegen den Corona-Vorschriften das Salatbuffet nicht mehr. Aber die Portionen mit gemischten Salat waren ein guter Ersatz.Als Hauptspeise Bavette mit Meeresfrüchten bzw. Tagliatelle mit Steinpilzen. Beides war perfekt zubereitet. Schönes Grotto in Losone. Hunde sind willkommen.

Excellent little Losonese place, typical of cà nòstra, with things also extra local (like seafood and mixed fried foods). However, all the dishes I have eaten up to now have always been excellent, compliments to the boss and all the other helpers. Well done and thanks for making us feel good. Mirko

Ci siamo ritrovati per un pranzo in famiglia in una data particolare e per una ricorrenza che avrebbe dovuto essere festeggiare in altro modo, dato che era la data in cui avremmo dovuto celebrare il nostro matrimonio in chiesa. Allora i miei suoceri hanno organizzato di trovarci insieme e magiare qualcosina in ottima compagnia. Il cibo è davvero molto buono e ben curato.

Siamo stati per una rimpatriata, cena in famiglia, ottimo l’ambiente, ottimo il cibo, personale davvero molto cordiale e cortese. Nonostante il pienone di quella sera, tutto è andato per il meglio ed è sempre un posto di qualità dove si mangia davvero bene.

Posizione ottimale ed interni raffinati, E' messo in ombra da latri ristoranti del quartiere. Merita una visita per il servizio e la genuinità dell'offerta

Nach dem Besuch des Weihnachtsmarktes in Ascona hatten wir Lust auf Käsefondue, nicht ganz einfach in dieser Region. Zum Glück fanden wir die Osteria Grotto Contrattempi. Einfaches gemütliches Lokal, mehrheitlich von Einheimischen besucht. Freundlicher Empfang, sehr guter Service und vorallem ein ausgezeichnetes Fondue. Wir kommen wieder

Good potato salad ribs with several undercooked pieces

Siamo stati dopo le vacanze per un pranzo in famiglia ed abbiamo assaggiato i nuovi piatti presentati nel rinnovato menu e devo dire che come sempre il cibo era veramente molto curato e molto buono. Qualità e servizio di prim’ordine, consiglio vivamente di assaggiare le varie prelibatezze. Ottimi i gamberoni. Complimenti a tutto lo staff per la cortesia e la gentilezza.

Brasato al Merlot e polenta, buonissimo, si sentivano bene il vino con una buona quantità di salsa, carne tenerissima, polenta buona. Porzioni giuste, per chi ha una certa fame : -) rapporto qualità prezzo corretto, personale gentilissimo, atmosfera e arredo davvero carini. Merita di tornarci!

Il menu sabato scorso offriva fra le varie cose anche un entrecote di cavallo. Mi sono lasciato ingolosire e ne sono rimasto completamente soddisfatto.Commento? Ottimo e abbondante.

Einfaches aber gutes Restaurant. Personal sehr freundlich. Küche ist Hammer!!! Super gut sogar! Immer versch. Themenabende. Sehr beliebt. Sehr schöne Gartenwirtschaft mit geräumig Platz zwischen den Tischen. Kinderfreundlich. Manchmal etwas lange Wartezeiten - dafür ist alles frisch. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Rimasto veramente colpito, sono stato poche volte, ma in tutte sempre super soddisfatto.Personale cordiale, disponibile e competente; pranzo comunione di mio figlio Ryan eccezionale e ieri sera solo con la moglie Tartare... la migliore mai provata, vino ottimo, dessert (io panna cotta e frutti di bosco, mia moglie dolce al cioccolato) ancora meglio della Tartare(se possibile). Complessivamente piú che consigliato.Complimenti allo STAFF!!!!.... a presto!

La tartare è condita bene ma tagliata troppo fine (sembra una polpetta) per il resto va, niente di che ma mangiabile... Ho dato un giudizio negativo soprattutto perché mi son sentito trattato come cliente di serie B siccome il nostro tavolo è stato l’unico al quale non è stato offerto un caffè o un digestivo mentre a tutti i tavoli accanto veniva offerto, questo anche dopo averlo fatto notare alla cameriera.

Un sera di qualche tempo fa abbiamo cenato al Contrattempi e dirvi che sono stata delusa è poco dire. Abbiamo dovuto attendere almeno 40 min per mangiare ma l'attesa non l'avrei trovata esagerata se poi le aspettative fossero state esaudite. L'attesa è stata giustificata dalla cameriera dicendo che il cibo era in forno ma quello che avevamo ordinato non andava messo in forno. Molto strano. Abbiamo ordinato la polenta e abbiamo ricevuto la polenta solubile. Fare la polenta non è obbligatorio ma se in un'osteria/grotto nella carta ha la polenta mi spiace ma non si può' servire la polenta solubile.

Highly recommended place! Kind and friendly staff, very extensive and unique menu. We ate fondue, raclette, ostrich tagliatelle and a cut of beef. All very good and plentiful. Parking spaces directly at the entrance to the restaurant, there aren't many so it's best not to arrive too late.

Abbiamo pranzato in questo ristorante-grotto. Ci hanno proposto un bollito misto a discrezione molto vario e ben cucinato. Un buffet di insalate fresche ed invitanti ad un prezzo direi nella norma. Quindi ottimo scelta. Alla prima occasione ritorneremo in questo posto per avere una valutazione più sicura. Servizio ottimo e cordialità del personale.
