Very warm and welcoming environment. Friendly and professional service. Excellent food!

Was there with my wife. I ordered the rabbit my wife the pot roast. The waiting times were short. The food was excellent for the price/performance ratio! If you're hungry, you should eat here. The portions were generous. My wife even got an additional portion of Merlot sauce for free. If you like it down-to-earth, this is the right place for you.

The food was very tasty and the price was appropriate. The tables in the restaurant are far too narrow. The staff is very attentive and hardworking. I'm happy to be there often.

We had a calzone, extremely subpar with canned mushrooms and cheap shoulder of ham. The dough wasn't very appetizing. However, the waiter was kind enough to waive the cost for us. Very attentive and friendly service! Location is great with a view of Piaza Grande.

The wood-fired pizza was good 💪🏽 but could have been a little bigger! The staff was a bit overwhelmed and unfortunately also a bit unfriendly... 🙃 Recommendation: Pizza Prosciutto 🍕

Restaurant to avoid. We had a voucher worth 115chf to redeem for a Ticino menu. We were served a menu which they charge 35 chf per person without a voucher. Moreover, we who were looking forward to tasting Ticino cuisine, this menu had nothing typical. We were treated to Parma ham (without any preparation), Célestine soup (in a bag), Zurich mince (bland) and industrial ice cream for dessert (Vienetta). There was nothing homemade and we didn't know that Zurich and Parma were in Italian Switzerland!!! In addition, the waiters are very rude and take away your plates when you have not yet finished eating! Only the location on the Grand Place is worth it. So avoid it.

Food and service was not good at all. We ordered water multiple times but it never came. The waiters don't even care. Also the food was bad. For that money price my cordon bleu was very cheap. Felt very bad for the people waiting to get a table. One group even stood up and went away because they didn't get served.

We had a great time alone with my wife. The person who served us Mr Stojov was perfect and gave good advice. The kitchen prepared the meat for us (a steak) the way my wife asked! These wishes were granted. From the welcome to the end of the meal everything was perfect. We recommend this restaurant. Thanks to the whole team . Ligia and Benoît

We stopped for dinner before going to the film festival. I ordered a simple veal with tuna sauce (fr. 28) plus chips on the side... the veal (???), it was the typical pressed meat that I buy in vacuum-packed supermarkets! At 3.50 a bag. I was hungry so I ate it even though it was better to refuse it. I won't go back there again!! Okay, tourists can be served anything... but not us Ticinese!!

Grilled horse meat cooked medium, a pleasure for the taste buds with a side dish of Film Festival atmosphere... excellent service

Despite the open menu, the service staff came several times to ask what we wanted to eat. We ordered two dishes, which came at different times (about 5 minutes apart). The horse steak is more like a schnitzel and a shoe sole. The fries are floury. The vegetables were probably canned, but they were fine. The pizza, however, was good. Service staff just stands around despite taking an order. Otherwise very nice restaurant, very inviting but unfortunately no service.

The location of the restaurant is very good, right on the Piazza Grande. The food was ok, but the portions were far too large and not nicely prepared. The staff was very unfriendly and seemed stressed the entire evening. It gave you the feeling that you were being dispatched as quickly as possible to occupy the table a second time.

It's a shame to call such a piece of puff pastry and tomato paste a pizza. This is definitely an abuse to sell something as ugly as pizza. I have the feeling I recently caught the employee buying a frozen pizza at the Coop (next door). Nevertheless, there was a wonderful atmosphere in Locarno's old town.

Located quite at the end of Piazza Grande street, with a good choice for the hungry visitor walking the streets of Locarno. With a simple yet tasty offering menu, this place can for sure surprise you. Unlike some of the reviews I read, the service was fast and the staff very polite, kind, and funny. Ciccio (I hope am not misspelling his name) took care of us and was very attentive and always checking in if all ok - a treat that you see less and less those days. Food was correct and very tasty. There isn’t something I could fairly say was not good. Good food is supposed to be simple and that’s something the team at this restaurant gets it done very well. A good stop if you are in to enjoy the buzz of the Main Street.

Best Ristorante in Piazza Grande. Friendly staff, top quality, quiet and the best view of the piazza.

Manzo brasato. The braised meat can still be described as somewhat tolerable. The polenta was dry and unseasoned. But the real low point was the "vegetable side dish": canned peas and a half-withered slice of tomato. And advertise the whole thing as a Ticino specialty. Canned peas. And they weren't even really warm. For 30 francs.

The food is absolutely amazing, especially all the pizza and pasta dishes are fabulous probably because it's an italian restaurant. The staff is unimaginably friendly and funny. They joke around from time to time, which creates a comfortable atmosphere. They work amazingly fast, and we had our food within 10 minutes of ordering, which is quite impressive. The Ristorante dell'Angelo is very much recommendable!!! If you're ever in Locarno, it's almost a must go place to eat dinner.

We found a table for two without a reservation. We were in the back of the restaurant. Rich menu and good service. Food was served hot.

I had hamburger with french fries. Would have been better in any McDonald's. The service was extremely lackluster across the entire staff. They probably don't want anyone who comes straight from a hike and/or has a dog with them. The restaurant is on my “once and never again” list. It's a shame, otherwise it would have been comfortable.

Cozy restaurant in a hotel. We came by quite late and were seated promptly. There weren't many other people in the restaurant. Our meals were served really fast. The food was alright, comforting after a long day out. The hightlight was the waiter who seemed to know just how much he needed to entertain his guests. He had a spring in every step and teased the lady at the table nearby. She went along with it and they had a great time. For us he dropped a few jokes here and there and always had a smile while serving us. He was also very fluent in English, German and French. What a great guy! :)

A little limited in terms of people management

We were left sitting for 15 minutes before we even got the menu. We ordered the Bruschetta and a Main Course. They forgot the appetizer and brought it after the Main Course. The Bruschetta were hard and cold. Almost felt like I was biting my teeth out. The spaghetti we ordered were luke warm. No welcome, thanks or anything to say from the servers. Wouldn’t come here again.

Since we were staying at the Hotel dell’Angelo, we received a discount voucher for this restaurant, i.e. 10%. After a long walk in a big storm, soaked, we decided not to eat there but to get takeaway pizza. We were greeted in a very, very cold manner. No one comes to the table to serve us, we have to go to the bar and desperately look for the look of a waiter (even though there are a lot of staff on site). In the bill, a drink that we had not ordered, no negotiation possible: I am told that I do not think I am being cheated. We were also unable to deduct the discount voucher because it was not presented when ordering. Despite this, the pizzas were very good and the inn was really nice.

The staff was great but we had the worst pizza ever! Mine wasn't quite cooked through and my friend's tasted like the burnt fondue. Unfortunately not recommended.

One of the worst restaurants I've ever been to in my life. Beyond the fact that it is extremely expensive (but like everything in Switzerland) it is also extremely bad. It's from the reheated can that we see being used. In this case, my pasta is the same thing we make at home when we're too lazy to cook: spaghetti for 10 minutes in boiling water and we throw in some canned bolo bought at the supermarket. Except that there it costs €20 (and again it's among the cheapest dishes. The rest is of the same ilk) - the waiter admitted to the next table that it was indeed not "homemade". Beyond that, the service is not great. Forgot part of the order (which we had to ask for again), and other things (a rather illogical cutlery story but I'll go into detail). In short, don't go there, even if you are a hotel guest and have a 10% discount. Eat in your room - it will be much better

In my experience the restaurant was good overall: the three vegetarian items (Saffron Risotto, Tomato Soup and Focaccia) we ordered were all tasty, it was clean, located at a good spot, and the staff were friendly in the typical Italian way. The décor is old-school, but then that’s what it is. Oh, last but not the least, the Cappuccino was tasty too.

A little surprised by the many negative reviews, I can generally give a positive rating. The service was very humorous and professional. The Vitello Tonnato is perfect. Only the lasagne was a bit dry and the sterile white lighting could have been a bit more comfortable. But we really enjoyed it, it was good and the price was ok for the location and during the film festival.

The food was OK... But nothing more! Service and organization underground! Group of 30 reserved and the Signora said she could do the service herself. Incredible heat inside and the last of us waited an hour for a first drink.

We've been there several times now and it just kept getting worse! Service without respect, as soon as you realize that big tips won't work.......???!!!!! The lasagne was really great the first time but then, unfortunately more and more expensive and worse.....!

The food was disappointing. From the steak to the Gordon Bl. to the spaghetti... Everything wasn't good.

The bruschetta wasnt as good as expected, while the other salads were gorgeous and really tasty, but ther ends the Compliment for the food, sadly. The Cordon Bleu felt store bought and cheep, the cheese smelled like nothing. The stake was overcooked but eatable, the fries were good. The second round of water didn't arrived for at least 20 minutes. I would only recommend eating pizza, if you are okay with an understuffed service.

The pizzeria is in the center of Locarno with a spacious terrace. The food was wonderful. We were particularly impressed by Rosario's friendly service. Deserved 5 stars.

Glad to have survived this attack on the taste buds and digestive tract safely. The program included coniglio, lasagna, bruschette and hamburgers. Meat of unknown age, oversalted, indefinable consistencies, short, inedible.

Pizzeria-restaurant at one end of the large square in Locarno, the pizza is on average good as are the polenta and the pasta. We came across nice Italian waiters to have a chat with. High prices like in the whole center of Locarno, Margherita 14 CHF, water 8... Negative note, at the entrance the person delegated to check the greenpass did so by "looking" at the QR code carefully, he probably had bionic eyes
