Ristorante Pizzeria Da Bucolo in Bern

The restaurant was extremely cramped, the staff was quite unfriendly and the pizza was extremely underwhelming. The pizza was rock solid and it didn’t help that the knife was duller than a butter knife, it also left an odd aftertaste. For an 18.50 CHF pizza margherita, you should be able to expect a higher quality standard. I don’t recommend this establishment.

I had the personal sized mushroom pizza, and it was really good. Nice and cheesy, mushrooms were cooked perfect, and everything was so full of flavor. The pizza, itself, was cooked well, too. They have a really nice chili oil that I used on every bite. Definitely recommend this pizzeria if you are craving a good pizza.

Reservation was simply canceled less than 12 hours before the appointment without giving any reason. Something like that doesn't work at all.

Small but nicely decorated restaurant. The pizza served was excellent and the service was attentive and pleasant. I would love to come back to try more fine dishes.

The restaurant is not far from the train station (approx. 5-10 minutes walk). It is very inconspicuously located on a wide street; you feel at home and at home there. The food was good; Pizzas were delicious and so was the penne. Everything was in the average price range. Recommended for good pizzas in the city of Bern.

Delivery service! Was delivered cold via eat.ch, pizza was transported upside down in the “delivery backpack”! taste great

Yesterday was my birthday January 25th. I made a reservation for 7:15 p.m. via email. But in the morning I called to say we would be coming in for dinner at 6:30/7pm and the waitress said OK. When we showed up there in the evening, our table was occupied, the waitress had written 7:30 p.m. In the end we had to leave and eat at another restaurant. Hire staff who speak and understand German. It's not the first time I've had problems with the waitress not understanding. We drove half an hour to have a pizza there. Birthday ruined

It said it was open but it was closed, I don't recommend it

I ordered a pizza primavera. Since I don't eat meat, I requested garlic instead of the meat. Avoiding meat did not result in a price reduction, but there was an additional charge for garlic.

Good location in the heart of Bern. Excellent pizza selection, also gluten-free! The pasti and salads are also highly recommended. Nice, quick service. Be sure to make a reservation. The location is small and therefore unfortunately a bit cramped.

I've probably never eaten so badly. Pasta wasn't fresh, it was mush, I had to look for porcini mushrooms and the ham smelled extremely bad. Never again

I ordered margherita and penne, but I've never seen pizza like that before... I wonder if that's a real margherita, or was it given that way on purpose?

We came to have a little pizza with friends after the famous descent of the Aar but that's it. While I was ordering a verdura (vegetarian) pizza, the waitress questioned my choice. The reason: real men have to eat meat apparently! Wounded to the depths of my masculinity, I tell myself that I will ignore this remark and still enjoy my pizza verdura. Unfortunately the ordeal did not end there because this pizza was completely bland as this waitress remarked. To avoid!

The staff was extremely kind. However I am Celiac and their gluten free food was pretty terrible. The bread was hard as a rock and their gluten free oven closes as 20:00 which is not listed on their website... Disappointing. I can't attest to the quality of their gf crust but it seemed very safe as far as CC— separate oven and knowledgeable staff. The dough is made in-house.

As italian, I have to say the pizza was just OK (not worth winning any world championship, like advertised), and the rest was also OK. Nothing memorable but also not bad.

Great food, try the Pinsa! One strange incident — we were charged 5 CHF for asking for empty plates so that we could share our pizza. We thought the waitress was joking (we don't speak German), but the joke really was upon us when the bill arrived. They told us that this is customary in Switzerland, although we didn't experience this in any other city or establishment. Curious! (and no, we don't get to take the plates home)

A quiet place, with good cuisine

Pizza dough was nicely done but the flavor of this special asparagus paste is mild with too much cream on it- a bit disappointed. Service was underwhelming also.

Very fine restaurant in downtown Bern. Due to lack of space, you often find yourself sitting at the table with strangers. However, the service and the food are top.

Nice little restaurant in Bern's old town. You feel a little like you're in Italy. The service is very attentive and friendly, and the food is also excellent. There is a small deduction on my part due to the narrow seating arrangement. I would have been more comfortable with a small distance between the tables. Tro highly recommended. For pizza and pasta, Da Bucolo in Bern is the place to be. You always feel very comfortable with the Mimmo team. The employees are always very friendly and attentive. Always worth a visit.

Beautiful location with prompt, good service. The pizzas are delicious, juicy with a crispy base. There is a huge selection of pizzas. The place is nice with a rustic touch. Would go again. You definitely need to make a reservation a few days in advance.

The gluten-free pizza was really very good, the selection wasn't too big - but there was enough for vegetarians too. The normal pizzas were available in numerous versions and sounded very interesting. And they were probably very tasty too. What was strange was that many people were sent away at the beginning without reservations, even though there was plenty of space. A little later we were given seats for four people without a reservation. That seemed a bit arbitrary and was probably related to the relevant conditions. But you can avoid the problem simply by making a reservation ;)

One of the best pizzas, if not the best in the city! Service is good as well. It's a small restaurant and can get pretty loud if it's full, so nothing for a calm chat :). It has gluten Free and vegan options! Reservation is often a must.

It was the first but not the last time here. Friendly service staff. It is one of the best vegetarian pizzas/pinzas I have eaten, light and easy to digest and above all very tasty. A visit is recommended.

Pizzas good, but not recommended as a host. We wanted to take our time after dinner, play a game and then enjoy dessert later. However, that didn't work. The boss instructed his staff to forbid us from playing. This was despite the fact that the four of us had consumed it for a good 150 euros. This made the staff visibly uncomfortable. It's a shame - we got the impression that it's about filling the tables in a way that brings in capital. So we left and will definitely not come back.

It's disgusting to charge €7 for two small jugs of them, one with a fly in it.

Pizza tastes ok, the rest leaves a lot to be desired. Very small restaurant. Tight and very loud. Confusion at the reservation. The waitress tipped out half the bottle of water - without replacing it. The 2 pizzas were served with over 10 minutes between each other - without apology. It's a shame, I would have expected more.

This family-owned restaurant, named after the Bucolo family, offers a wide selection of Napoli-style pizzas, with a delicious soft crust. All our pizzas were delicious. As the restaurant is quite small and fills up quicky, a reservation is recommended.

We ordered a Margherita with rocket and we received a Margherita without rocket but in the meantime they took the money. We have a Margherita+arugula bestellt and Margherita with arugula but with arugula Preis bekommen
