What a great experience! We went there for dinner last week and were very impressed! Such kind service, everything was so incredibly harmonious and thoughtful, great. We also found the price-performance ratio to be completely appropriate. We paid 195 for the menu and then chose 2 bottles of wine from the menu, not the accompaniment. Plus an aperitif drink and a bottle of wine sold out of the house (which then made up 50% of the ticket price) and in the end we paid 300 per person. Sure, a lot of money, but justified for this experience. The house itself is getting old, it's really in the middle of nowhere, but we knew where we wanted to go ;-) I'm very excited about the new location in the new year. The service was friendly. The restaurant was average. The food looked promising on the menu. I ordered the fish menu. The salad was interesting adorned with lots of flowers. Hard to eat as there was very little or no salad sauce that I could taste. My next plate should have been cheese, but I was served a poached egg floating in water, again with the usual bunch of flowers on top. Not very appetizing. The waitress mixed up the menu. I did eventually get my cheese which tasted like a cream cheese again with flowers on top. My main was trout on top of mashed potato served in a tree trunk Not attractive or particularly tasty. The desert which again was not on my menu was a lemon tasting greek style jogurt. When I pointed this out to the waitress she seemed skeptical, as though I was not telling the truth. I asked her to speak to my original waitress who, I was told, had gone home. Most shocking for me was my husbands main dish which consisted of half a cauliflower with a non descript sauce. The top had been browned with a flame torch. It was not properly cooked and was stringy. I was also surprised to see the Chef walking around the restaurant most of the evening, so I wonder who was actually cooking. I could not recommend this restaurant.

Apart from the food creations which you will nowhere else experince and an explosions of a taste in your mouth, you will be served countless choice of cheese, each of which will be served with a different selfmade Konfitüre. That's just incredible, honestly. If i remeber correct, at that time it was at least 54 sorts of cheese. All local!!! Guys, don't miss a chance at least once in a life time to go there and try that "fairy-tale" kitchen experience. They don't call him a wizard for nothing! Thanks to everyone.

Willkommen beim etwas anderen Landgasthof.Vielversprechende Menues. Der Salat vorweg mit wenigen Zutaten. Viel Öl, fermentierte Rübenscheiben, Karotten und Sellerie. Knackig - Toll! Das Rehwürstchen mit Apfel und warmen Lebkuchen zum Niederknien. Der Haupgang mit Arvenduft  - zarte Rehschnitzel mit angerösteten Knödeln. Dazu ein Glas rote Extase - fabelhaft. Das Güggeli kross, auf cremiger Polenta. Die Käsesorten ungewohnt aber gut: Hartkäse mit Kaffee Aroma, Steingranulat im Bergkäse, dazu das tolle Kürbisbrot.Die Desserts zergehen auf der Zunge. Herr Wiesener - der Hexer - plaudert am Tisch aus dem Nähkästchen, ist präsent, lässt immer den  kompetenten Service agieren. Ein Abend, der in Erinnerung bleibt. Wir kommen wieder! 

Freundliche Bedienung, war jetzt nur zum Trinken da,werde aber noch mal zum Essen hin gehen.

Beim Hexer in escholzmatt wurden wir leider enttäuscht. Das Beste war das morgenessen auf dem bauernhof am nächsten Morgen. Die Preise sind zudem viel zu hoch und stehen in keiner Relation zum Essen. Die Präsentation auf dem grauen Stofflappen am Tisch, serviert ohne Teller sondern auf irgendwelchen Konservendosen oder auf Backpapier mit dem gleichen Besteck während allen Gänge ist äusserst fraglich. Das Abspielen einer Melodie, welche während einer Beerdigung gelaufen sei und den Hexer zum Menü Namen „black earth“ inspirierte, war noch der Gipfel des Abends. Wir können es wirklich nicht empfehlen und werden nie mehr hingehen. Auch können wir die positiven Bewertungen nicht verstehen daher nur 1 Punkt von uns. Ein Lob für die Bauernfamilie, welche uns die im Package beinhaltete übernachtung ermöglichte - dies inklusive persönlichem Abholservice.
