Wow - this good atmosphere, the very friendly service, the very good food, the attractive pricing (CHF 4 for water per person & CHF 5 for dessert). Very exciting new type of hospitality. We'll definitely come back. Thank you very much for the unforgettable Easter experience!

The evening (team dinner) was outstanding!! This was made possible to a large extent by the team from the guest company Schloss Maienfeld / Brandis. A special thank you goes to our waiter (handsome, slim, tall, blonde, with a penchant for first-class shoes), highly professional, very personable, an asset to any business!! (don't worry, I'm happily married 😉) Of course, this can only work if the whole team does an excellent job!!! The host was also very personable, charming, simply top class!! The food was a dream, I have rarely eaten so well, chapeau!!! The performance is not very far from the Restaurant and Hotel SchlossSchauenstein in Fürstenau run by Andreas Caminada Of course the absolute number one in our beautiful area😊 Don't raise my prices after this review, unless of course for economic reasons.😂 In that sense Take Care - have a wonderful Christmas everyone! Found by chance after a hike through the vineyards. Great atmosphere and very friendly employees. We only ate something small, homemade pasta with local truffles. Was very fine. Will definitely come back.

Christmas dinner with the shop was impeccable. It was a very nice evening yesterday. First we had an aperitif in Club 1247, where we were served by a very nice and competent gentleman. Afterwards we went to the restaurant. Just WOW, the ambience is beautiful. The service was very friendly and accommodating from start to finish. The food is a delight for the senses, simply perfect. Well, Sunday evening, everything in the area was closed. Except this pearl in Maienfeld. Super nice location, very courteous staff in the hall and a top kitchen. I now recommend the saddle of venison in the game season. Add the red Maienfelder barrique and the evening should never end. The food was very good, portion rather small. The prices are set quite high. If you order some tap water with the overpriced wine, you'll pay a whopping 8.--. That amazed us.

Very nice restaurant. Very good quality food. Was there for the first time since the tenant changed. Unfortunately there are only 3 stars for the food because the portions are really too small. These were not very big before the change of tenant, but now they are subterraneanly small. After a 3 course meal I was still hungry. The side dish (Spätzli) was 4 forkfuls for the main course. But the quality is great. However, for me the price/performance ratio for the food isn't really right.

We just wanted to have an aperitif, the wine list is very interesting, the welcome at the wine lounge bar very warm. So we decided to eat at the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was truly excellent and the highlight of the evening was the Irish coffee prepared before our eyes to conclude the evening. Not cheap but very good.

The restaurant was okay, but a little expensive. The castle itself was actually closed and I felt a bit unclear on that because it said things were open, but it just meant the restaurant. There seemed to be only one waitress and one cook, so service was kinda slow. The landscape and location was spectacular though.

Had a wonderful wedding at Maienfeld Castle. Everything was perfect from the first meeting, to the food, the service and the end. We would host our party there again at any time! (PS: The lovely service staff are also great dancers ;) )

A great Sunday lunch! There weren't too many guests, but it's not tourist season. The quality of the food was really extremely good, with the exception of the espresso, which wasn't real Italian. The selection was a bit limited, in my opinion the pork tenderloin doesn't belong in a restaurant like this, the pike perch is a common fish and almost nobody eats the calf's head, which is considered an award. And so it happened that practically everyone took the beef, which, as I said, was a very good choice. Also worth mentioning was the excellent salad and the crema catalana with the very nutty ice cream. The service was very attentive, but I would prefer something more classic in this atmosphere than white sports shoes, but it's just not in vogue at the moment. Conclusion: an outstanding lunch

Fantastic location, but the food was not great. The meat was overcooked. We tasted excellent local wine. The quality-price ratio is pretty bad for what we got. If they improve the quality of the kitchen, it could be a great place.

The restaurant is located in a stylishly furnished room in the castle tower. The castle tower was built around 1247 and old beams support the ceiling and you can see that they were still worked by hand. The food on offer is very good and the kitchen crew knows their craft. The accompanying wines are excellent and were ordered after very good recommendations. All highly recommended

Gluten free: The food was very sophisticated and the plates were beautifully presented. We had the Easter menu. Since I have celiac disease, my menu was prepared gluten-free. I had already mentioned it when making the reservation and it wasn't a problem. I was even served gluten-free bread. The service staff is courteous, friendly and competent. Good price-performance ratio.

Great “local” Here you will find a café, bistro, bar, garden lounch, right up to a hall for large parties such as weddings or similar. Very friendly welcome and service and great ambience in the ancient but newly restored walls. The renovation preserved the traditional values ​​and at the same time combined some modern style elements in a great way.

We ate in the garden and received excellent service. The dishes, which were more in the upper price segment (concerning the main course), did not quite meet our expectations. While the meat was undercooked, the fish was fried too long. However, we couldn't fault the starters at all. The criticism was received very kindly and we didn't want any compensation, but we were still offered something. 5 stars because everything else was fine. Thank you very much and continued success!

You hear a lot of good things about Maienfeld Castle, formerly Brandis Castle. Like many things, the name changed to Maienfeld, for whatever reason. A very nice garden restaurant for the beautiful summer evenings. Beautiful rooms, great food and corresponding wines. It's definitely worth a visit, there's no question about whether it's a must to have been here. The wine list is well sorted. The menu and the menu make you want to eat and I would describe the prices as moderate, after all you are in a castle...

Went there for dinner with a group. The ambience was wonderful, the table was beautifully set, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was wonderful. Unfortunately, we were not made aware that the sauce as a side dish was much too spicy and thus somewhat reduced the enjoyment.

We were invited by our friends for a special occasion! They ordered a table very early and were looking forward to this seat. On the same day she got a call at 4:00 p.m. that all guests had to eat in the garden!!! That doesn't work... I exclaimed briefly, no big reaction, no apology or offer of a drink! A stormy wind came up because there were other guests complaining and suddenly we had to eat inside. It's a shame the nostalgic dreamy feeling was missing, artificial flowers on the table, no burning candle! Menu selection very weak, not a big selection!!!! Recommended Marc, by the waiter, no longer available. Service was very good, despite 24 guests and 2 people in service. Farewell while leaving was canceled... Personally, I won't be staying in this house again!!!

Apart from the starter, the main course was not good, meat was dry, not decorated with love, side dishes were slightly sour because the motto was corn. The service was very friendly, but criticism expressed could not be dealt with properly. A later visit with a new rating will be tried when the menu changes.

First visit since the reopening. The ambience is still very nice. The dishes were very tasty and the wine selection was very good. Very friendly staff. We missed the greeting from the kitchen and a short explanation of what was on the plate when the dishes were served. Because not everything is entirely clear based on the keywords on the map. Based on the points mentioned, we felt that the prices quoted were at the upper limit.

If you have time, a visit is otherwise less worthwhile...

The restaurant did not meet our expectations. We ordered a salad and it came to the table dirty. Considering the long wait for the first courses, we ordered a cappuccino and a tea, which were served after 35 minutes, although there was no confusion and therefore the wait is unjustified The bad service: Three times they brought different dishes to the table than the ones ordered. negative judgment also about the dessert. We ordered two pancakes without pistachio ice cream and they brought pistachio ice cream. Negative opinion!!
