Schloss Wülflingen in Winterthur

I had the Gottfried Keller steak - excellently prepared, with a lot of love... Amuse bouche was very nice, just a little less rocket would have done the trick, but that has been used quite excessively for years ;-). P.S. I haven't had rolls like this in Switzerland for years - bravo! The ambience wasn't my thing, as the room seemed a bit dark and oppressive to me (courtroom), so as an antiques fan I would have preferred to marvel at the coffered ceilings. But this was all made up for by the staff and the fine food. A compliment to the boss, a big win for Winterthur - stay with us for a long time. Many thanks to the entire staff!

We enjoyed a wonderful evening here on New Year's Eve. We were served very attentively and the atmosphere is pleasant. The vegetarian New Year's Eve menu tasted excellent and was also pleasing to the eye. We are very satisfied and can only recommend Wülflingen Castle!

We have been enjoying our Christmas dinner here with the family for years. Excellent fine dining in the beautifully renovated historic Wülflingen Castle. We had beef fillet stroganoff and salmon fillet with rice. The restaurant has medium and larger historical rooms spread over two floors. The cozy rooms from 1645 are very rustically furnished. The service and food was excellent as always. We would like to come again.

Very nice location, but the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered saddle of venison. On both plates there were only the cuts (2 pieces each) while I could count 4 beautiful centerpieces on the plates of other guests. At a price of CHF 58.00 per person, I thought they would bring us a second plate. But that wasn't the case. The red cabbage was totally overcooked and the game terrine for the starter was also a disappointment. I won't go there again and won't recommend this restaurant.

Buttery tender game! We (5 people) had three different game variations as well as veal slices: every meat variation was super tender. The pumpkin soup and the homemade strawberry sorbet (smells like fresh strawberries) are also highly recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the evening at Wülflingen Castle. Leaves nothing to be desired. Very attentive, courteous but still discreet (pleasant) staff in a nice atmosphere.

Very nice restaurant with a large garden restaurant. Big PP. Despite +28 degrees, the parasols provided wonderful shade. The food was very good, I have never had such tender veal liver anywhere. The service could have been a little more attentive with the prices. But ok for me. Is a bone yep. The path to the kitchen and back to the garden was quite long. The restaurant also has a wonderful herb garden that you can visit. Excellent. I will go to Wülflingen Castle when the renovation work is finished. You can't see much of the castle at the moment.

We had a dinner (12 people) to celebrate our Wedding there. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. We loved it and would highly recommend!

We were guests at a wedding party on July 20th. The food was great, the atmosphere was very nice, but the service was poor. The service staff responded to guests' questions and concerns in a tone that does not belong in a restaurant. No special requests were taken into account. It was a shame and I felt very sorry for the newly married couple. You would think that you are playing it safe with Wülflingen Castle. Unfortunately, all guests were thoroughly disappointed, if not shocked, by the service. The staff was also visibly overwhelmed trying to serve us as a wedding party alongside the lunch guests. Why weren't more service workers organized for this day? It's a shame... we're planning an event ourselves next year and Wülflingen Castle is definitely no longer an option for us. And I feel even more sorry for the cooks. They did an excellent job!

Fantastic evening in the castle garden with perfect weather! Yesterday we celebrated a family event at Wülflingen Castle. It was - as always - sensationally good! Excellent food, VERY attentive, super friendly service. An extremely successful evening outside in the garden restaurant. Weather perfect, not hot, pleasant climate. Our sister-in-law had her wedding reception here and our son celebrated his graduation ceremony with you a few years ago. Excellent every time!! Our absolute No.1 in Winterthur.

Price-quality ratio is not correct. Too expensive. Who would think of deep-frying a cordon bleu? Good service, nice atmosphere if, like us, you can eat outside. Inside it is stuffy, as you would expect from a "Schloss".

It was too hot, too crowded and too loud for me. Our table was right next to the door, corresponding to a restless table. The curry was nothing special. The reception and service were top.

We enjoyed our anniversary here with lovely service and delicious food. Unfortunately, the portion sizes were so small that despite taking a dessert we left still hungry and went to a pizza place on the way home. A funny story which we will remember. But we were quite disappointed as it is a rather high priced restaurant.

Seriously, I feel hintergangen from théir Cook . I ordered zurigeschnetzeltes and I got an oversize rösti and a bit of zurigeschnetzeltes . I tell you what, if you are Reading this, make your expérience and i Can assure you, you will névér eat there again . Tant pis !

Each time we appreciated the varied selection, the enjoyment of eating and drinking, and the excellent service. It’s always a special occasion for us.

Very beautiful castle in Winterthur. I travel there as a wedding photographer about 5 times every year and can only recommend it. You can celebrate free weddings in their garden, and the castle is also ideal for an aperitif (outside or down in the wine cellar) and for the wedding dinner (very fine).

Unfortunately I have to say that I had one of the worst experiences in a restaurant when I had lunch at Schloss Wülflingen. The staff treated us in a way that is completely unacceptable. It was one of the most child-hostile environments I have ever experienced. I was appalled at how incompetent and unprofessional the staff can be in a restaurant that actually has a good name. It's a shame that a restaurant with such a reputation would behave so disrespectfully towards its customers. It is very surprising that even the boss, with her incompetent manner, should have been allowed to fill this position. You are a disgrace! I would advise anyone not to visit this restaurant, especially with children. There are many other restaurants in the area that create a much more friendly and welcoming atmosphere and where you are valued as a customer. I wish your restaurant business nothing but the worst for the future and will make it my mission to tell others about my bad experience and present you in the bad light you deserve. You are a disgrace! And to respond to your answer: I understand that problems have arisen because families with small children and people without children have been accommodated in a small room. It is obvious that this may cause some people to feel disturbed by the children. However, it is important to note that this is a failure of the planning and not of the families themselves. Therefore, your claim that everything possible has been done on your part is simply a LIE. Even when we tried to discuss with the “boss” how we were being treated, no one listened to it and everything was denied. So don't say we should have talked first, because we did! There also seems to be some potential for improvement in the communication between you, Mr. Borer, and your employees. Like your “boss,” you see no guilt or mistakes on your part, so what exactly do you want to talk about?! That's why I want to say it to you again now: YOU ARE A SHAME!!

Was eating in this beautiful restaurant for lunch today, January 31, 2023. I have rarely experienced such staff as in this inn. Courteous, attentive, extremely friendly and warm. You feel completely comfortable. The food was also great and so kudos to the kitchen. It's great that there are still staff at this time who do their work with so much passion. Can only warmly recommend this inn. Thank you for the experience and would be happy to come again at any time.

The meal yesterday at lunchtime in the courtroom at Wülflingen Castle was excellent, the service was perfect and the ambience was the icing on the cake.

Apart from the food, service and ambience, the most important criteria, we like the room layout. You don't sit in a large, open hall but in a room. This makes the room very quiet and intimate. Everyone feels comfortable here and you look forward to the next time with satisfaction. Very suitable for smaller group events.

We often visit the castle and appreciate the well-kept atmosphere. We were recently able to have lunch with our suppliers and part of our team - around 20 people. The food was excellent, from the rocket salad with parmesan shavings, to the veal steak with potato gratin, to the castle trio dessert, and the service was excellent as usual.

Service wasn't exactly friendly

Had the fried duck breast with Schupfnudeln and red cabbage. My partner the clean roast. Both were very, very good. It's definitely not the last time we've been guests here. Very nice restaurant. The furnishings fit very well.
