Super fine dishes...butcher's cutlets as you should be... Leberli butter is as tender as I've never had before 👌 And very very reasonable prices for this quality and quantity!! TOP 👍👍 I will definitely visit here again. Only to recommend...

Because... growing up up there, it was like our second home back then, as it still is (when in the area), good middle class, very good Swiss cuisine, hearty portions, very friendly and courteous service, and has been for decades , despite changing landlords after decades (but staying in the family is almost the same.. ) 😉 Despite everything, a very large selection, across the board. Rustic pub on the outskirts of the city. Unfortunately extremely meat-heavy and absolutely not up to date.

The three of us had dinner yesterday. 2x deer pepper with spaetzli and 1x meatloaf with fries and 2 salads. The salads were good, nut salad with egg and mixed salt. The deer pepper was very bad, bland, overcooked and didn't taste fresh. The spaetzli were overcooked, floury and not fried in the pan. The meatloaf was unpleasantly served on the plate without parsley or cherry tomatoes. Normally you could eat delicious deer pepper or roe deer pepper there, the entire meal and drinks cost CHF 165. My husband and I had massive stomach pains. Conclusion: They won't see us there anymore, I have the feeling that we narrowly escaped with food poisoning. It's a shame that a previously good restaurant has changed so much for the worse.

Previously a top address for game dishes. Unfortunately, yesterday's Hirschpfeffer was miserable. Me and my partner still have stomach problems the day after. The fact that you can only pay with Twint and cash is also very customer-unfriendly. We won't eat there anymore.

It used to be a home-style restaurant and we celebrated all family celebrations there. Since the change of host I can no longer recommend it, not at all for meals with several people. Even if Corona has left its mark, the guest should still be the priority.

The meals are always prepared with fresh ingredients. I like to eat seasonal cuisine, which I can also enjoy in this restaurant. It is an advantage to make a reservation as the restaurant is busy. The only disadvantage is that payment is only possible in cash.

I would describe this place as a real pub. Not in a negative sense, but with all the good old values. I'm not talking about the bowling alley, which has it too, but about a service that can still be described as such (i.e. not customer service): super fast, friendly, humorous, gallant and on a packed evening, where more when half of them want to get to the 'Crazy Diamonds' concert in time and the kitchen is still only occupied by three people. A menu that is simple but also special, with tripe, knuckles etc. That was also delicious. The prices, not just for Zurich, are cheap. Come back.

The service was very friendly. The lady who took the reservation, a little less, she couldn't give exact information about the menu. The food is down-to-earth, home-style cooking. The atmosphere is actually reminiscent of that of a restaurant where the shooting club or gymnastics club meets. A place also for ordinary people.

I have lived in Switzerland for 30 years and have always wanted to eat in this restaurant, it never worked out. Today I had the pleasure of having lunch at Schützenruh🇨🇭! It was fantastic! A wonderful service (a blonde lady), we were treated very well! And very tasty food! Lots of choices! We will be back! 🥰 Thank you!

Very good food at reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were particularly pleased that gluten allergies were taken into account in an exemplary manner.

Cozy restaurant. Always friendly staff. Most of them have been in the restaurant for ages. The landlord is also nice. The food always tastes good too. The garden is amazing in summer.

The food here is generally delicious. But a few things annoyed me a bit. 1. No card payment, which is rather unusual in the middle of the city of Zurich - 1 star deduction 2. The bowling alley is in very poor condition and urgently needs to be renovated. Sometimes the balls don't even come back on the right lane. No star deduction, more information. 3. It took forever for our ordered drinks to arrive. Sometimes orders were also forgotten. Since the restaurant was only mediocrely occupied, it was rather incomprehensible. - 1 star deducted here too

After over 45 years, about 70 times of cream veal schnitzel with noodles..., there was a change! What was once the best cream sauce in the world has not been the same for a few months! This week it was so thin and no longer tasted good! The veal cream schnitzel was tough! However, the staff that evening, Cindy and Renata, were, as always, friendly and great!!!

It's that wild time again and for those who think that it's so overpriced to eat out everywhere at the moment, you can still find reasonable prices in Schützenruh without too much frills. I tried the venison fillet (33.50) and got a huge plate of homemade spaetzle, pear, cranberry and red cabbage. Although the prices here in Schützenruh have gone up a bit (understandable), it is still possible to enjoy a delicious lunch or night here as a family.

Highly recommended! The staff is really helpful, they didn’t have a menu in English so they translate it for us!!. The place is really nice it has a beautiful outdoors space under the trees and full of lights perfect for a summer dinner. The dishes were good and the portion abundant. You can only pay in cash (there is a Swiss credit ATM close to the restaurant just in case)

Food service TOP. Negative: 2 musicians who made more noise instead of music. It was very unpleasant, then coming to the tables without masks to collect money! The staff struggles with masks all day long. And they just move like that. That this is tolerated in the restaurant?????
