Food and service was amazing except when it came to paying for the meal. We requested twice to get the bill, we then received it and it took 36 minutes for the waiter to come back with the card machine (during that time 2 couples were told to wait for a table). Even though everything else was great this did not leave a good impression of the restaurant. Dine there if you have 3 hours ahead of you!

Fine restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The food tastes good and delicious according to the price. Everything seemed fresh to us. The service is also friendly and accommodating. It's a bit of an expensive restaurant, but overall you'll have a pleasant evening. Recommended for in between.

I was on a layover exploring the city. This Swiss restaurant was open and had good reviews. I tried the Caesar salad with sausages and Swiss cheese, the meatloaf with poached egg, and had the first beer on the menu. ALL were phenomenal. I couldn't thank the waitress enough for her recommendations. Incredibly tasty Swiss cuisine!

Average food, prices also high for what they offer, but the thing I least liked was discovering that water (from the tap) is sold for 7 francs per person with the formula "as long as you want" than on a table of 4 where 3 people get beer and one gets water, they still all pay 7 francs each (which is also specified in the menu) we got a rosti and some sausages, good but nothing special and for the price they ask I would say a little too too much but we are in Zurich and that's how it is… Offered bread and butter appreciated.

Even though the restaurant was almost empty, we were given a place right next to the cloakroom. Change possible. The service was not very attentive, food was served across the table to my partner from my side, white wine was lukewarm and the cheapest price for 1 dl by the glass is CHF 10.-. The food was good but not exceptional. Service then got a little better. What can be criticized is the poor ventilation. Everything smells like grease, what a shame!

What a complicated experience. The food was lovely; my bride enjoyed a decidedly not American "burger." It was delicious. I had an absolutely terrific stew. We highly recommend both. Our concern/problem/issue? Well, we couldn't help but feel that the waiter found our presence in the restaurant annoying. We are experienced, global travelers; sensitive to the local community and appreciative of the service professionals we interact with. We enjoy, appropriate, banter with the staff should time allow. (This restaurant was mostly empty.) That said, our waiter found it annoying to review the menu with us. While he was present and attentive to our neighbors, he never seemed to care if we wanted or needed anything. It would be inappropriate to call him rude. He was not; he simply ignored us while being quite busy with others. My parting comment as I left...."sorry for disturbing your afternoon." He ignored that too. Go for the food. Not the service.

On my second day in Switzerland, I tried Swiss food for the first time. I didn't have a reservation, but they kindly let me in. The staff are friendly. Cream-cooked meat stew, handmade pasta, seared beef salad with cheese, and something like a potato cake (I left this one after the volume). It was very delicious ❤ However, the cream is getting too strong for Japanese people 💦

One of your waiters is extremely racist. He is bold, Caucasian and between 30-40 years old. I’m not the only person commenting about this on Google. I encourage you to take action and amend this unfortunate circumstance. My trip to Zurich was ruined because of that waiter. Not going back.

This was our last meal in Swiss which turned out to be the best! Maybe it was early dinner time. We were served without a reservation. I had tried both dishes of beef tongue and calf liver. My husband had ordered BBQ pork. Both of us was extremely happy with a quantity and quality of our dishes, especially very special tasty and tenderness from the beef tongue! The price seems reasonable high, it worths any penny. I liked that Side order is an option in this restaurant instead of like most of other restaurants, you pay more for a whole meal with a large portion of side order, such as hash potatoes or French fries.

As someone who has traveled internationally A LOT, I understand the beauty of easy-going service in European cities. However, my family and I waited quite long for service, even for drinks, as i saw a table get seated after us but served first. They even got bread and we were never given bread - I ended up asking in the end. Despite a very clear request for a large salad, got served a small. We ended up needing to flag down a waiter and anytime we did get service, make sure its known we will order something else - otherwise we don't know when they will ask us again. Even some of the utensils were clearly dirty, not just soapscum (which is usually understandable). We don't know if it's because we're "brown" or American but the service was severely disappointing. We were patient, excited and grateful to sit and eat at a delightful establishment. If you choose to dine here, the food is great, just be ready for mediocre and slow service.

As this was our 1st time in Switzerland, we were all looking forward to having our 1st meal here seeing how great the reviews were. However, we were sorely disappointed by the terrible service. When we were ready to order, we turned to approach the wait staff by the name of Samuel as he was right behind us (literally 1-step away from us) as he was stationed there. We tried calling out to him several times (even by his name as we were close enough to read his name tag) and was blatantly ignored. This refusal of service was honestly quite humiliating. It then struck us that he simply did not want to serve Asians. We often hear horror stories of Asians experiencing similar treatment by service staff in Europe, but to experience this ourselves left us pretty shaken and confused. Fortunately, this was salvaged by a younger staff by the name of Jo-an. She was attentive, cheery and gave us her recommendations. We had feedback to who we assumed to be the manager who assured us he will have a word with him. We then later observed that Asians who did not make reservations before coming were turned away on the basis that they were fully booked, while Caucasian couples were invited to wait for a seat (we were seated right by the reception area, so we could hear conversations that took place). Fortunately (or unfortunately), we made reservations which secured us a table. By the end of dinner, Samuel was tasked to settle our bill. We were lucky to have spotted an error of CHF45 at the last minute, upon check the receipt again. This meal definitely left a bitter after taste. We really hope Samuel's attitude is not typical/representative of the general Swiss populace.

One of the rare place to be open over lunch in the city center of Zurich on a Sunday. Meat is good with a large selection of wines and beef cuts. Terrasse is nice and located in a walking street so despite being busy, the area is calm and quiet. Would 100% for a Sunday lunch

Amazing Michelin restaurant, excellent service (the staff speaks at least German and English), faster and better service and the food is incredibly delicious. We ordered the Burrata salad (small portion) 18 CHF, Ghackets mit Hörnli 24 CHF (the portion is huge and you can ask to pack it with you for free) and Eistee “AuGust” (author’s iced tea based on hibiscus, very tasty) 6 CHF I advise you to visit if you are in Zurich.

Food was good (simple but well executed) - I didn’t find anything special in the menu. What we ate as well was just fine… but I felt service was a bit lacking (took them a while to come to our table ask about drinks, then came very fast and a lot of times to ask about what we wanted to eat… took them a while to identify the drinks we’re finished and ask if we wanted more… took a while to bring bread - which we wanted to eat with the burrata…) - maybe it played a role the way we were dresses: post-workout, tired, full of bags… but it’s summer and we were in the balcony so… we didn’t care much about how we’re dressed. But the overall experience was not bad. I just don’t know if I’d ever come back.

In particular, I do not recommend sausages as they are very salty. The beer here was delicious. However, the prices are typical of Switzerland. (I think it cost about 180,000 won) There is no reason to come and eat.

Regarding the restaurant August in Zurich, I must say that the location and decor are pleasant. However, my experience with the food quality was quite disappointing, as it left much to be desired. Furthermore, the staff's behavior was unacceptable, as we noticed they were rude and unhygienic. The most concerning part was witnessing a girl cutting a slice of cake, dropping it on the floor, picking it up, and licking her fingers before serving it to a customer. This situation left a negative impression, and unfortunately, I do not plan to return to the restaurant. I believe it is essential for the establishment to improve the quality of service and kitchen hygiene to provide a more enjoyable experience for their customers.

Roger's service was the reason we will never eat here again. Additionally, the portion size is incredibly small for the price. (Gazpacho for 17CHF was a small cup, after a "large" portion of pasta with tomato sauce for 28CHF my stomach was still growling.)

The way we were received was unacceptable, if you can even call it a reception, as soon as we approached the restaurant, the fact that we spoke a different language. We were rejected in a very ungrateful way and nothing, I came to Zurich because of its openness and cosmopolitanism. I am very disappointed with this gentleman who is the manager of the restaurant as half of the seats were empty.

On December 17th, 2022 we spontaneously decided to enjoy a late lunch in AuGust. When we arrived we asked a lady, who turned out to be the service manager Nadja P., if there was still a table available for two people. She assured us that we could get a table in about 15 to 30 minutes maximum and suggested we hang out at the bar with a drink in the meantime. We were served at the bar by another employee who served us a cola and a ginger beer. After waiting for 40 minutes we thought it appropriate to ask for our table. Five minutes later we received a message from another employee that a table was finally ready for us. Despite the long wait, we hoped for some kind of compensation, perhaps some attention from the house. But this didn't happen. Instead, we settled our drinks bill at the bar, paid CHF 24 and gave an additional CHF 6 tip, and then went to the restaurant area. There we met Nadja P. again, who explained that she had lost sight of us at the bar. In the meantime the restaurant had noticeably emptied. We sat down and first ordered water. About 10 minutes later our waiter appeared to take our food order. We chose a salmon tartare, a goat cheese salad and, as the main course, Zurich Geschnetzeltes and a pulled beef burger. After another 20 minutes of waiting, we were served the starter. The accompanying toast was missing. Salmon tartare without toast… The waiter hastily assured us that the bread would be served shortly. But again we had to wait. After another 5 minutes we had to ask again about the whereabouts of the toast, which had already been waiting on the kitchen counter for a long time, but had now become cold and soft. Our water was empty in the meantime, but the waiter didn't notice this even when serving the main courses. Another 15 to 20 minutes passed before we even had a chance to order water again. Our plates were only cleared away 5 minutes after eating, while new tables were already being set next to us. In total we spent 2.75 hours in the restaurant - and that without ordering dessert. I have never experienced such poor service, especially in an establishment that stands out for its good service. As a final note, we had to pay our bill in the entrance area as no one came to ask us about dessert or the bill. This disappointing experience led me to report the incident to the F&B Manager of the Widder Hotel, whom a good friend of mine knows personally. Unfortunately the manager never responded to this message. This ignorance, coupled with previous experience, now leads me to leave this public review. Mistakes can happen. What matters is how you react to it. Apparently the company doesn't seem to care that quality has declined. I think that the management change in recent years has contributed to this development. A management that doesn't care about the guest's concerns.

Had one night in Zurich to explore and chose AuGust as our lunch spot, and we are so glad we did. I had the meatloaf, but got to taste the sausage, roastie, veal, salad and homemade ice cream dessert. Everything I tasted was marvelous. The meatloaf was spectacular especially when I added the AuGust mustard which they keep on the table. We would really like the recipe for the meatloaf and wish I had a case of the mustard to take home!!

Very good food and quality. Welcoming and professional service. Pleasant setting. The only downside is that Accompaniments are billed separately and this is not stipulated clearly enough. Who eats a stew or a veal sausage without it? Once the support is added, the prices become relatively expensive.

Absolutely amazing. The food itself tastes amazing. Be warned, the portions are bigger than you expect. The service was fantastic and very accommodating to me have never tried Swiss food before. And I appreciate not throwing me out of the restaurant for my horrible pronunciations. The atmosphere is fun, dark lighting but not hard to see and low music barely heard over everyone talking, but not too loud.

Came here due to a recommendation from a local, and it was right around the corner from the Widder Hotel where we were at grabbing a drink. We were there pretty late (8:30 PM) by Swiss (and American) dinner standards so the restaurant was pretty empty! The restaurant reminds me of a classy diner. It is pretty small, and I’m not sure if I would recommend this place for a group larger than 6. The tables are pretty tiny, so the restaurant might need to wait for multiple tables to serve a large party. We had the undivided attention of our waitress. She thoroughly explained the menu and made a few recommendations for traditional Swiss options. The cappuccino was delicious, and definitely gave me the much needed caffeine boost. The Fleischkase was made really well. It was the first time I had it so I wasn’t sure what to expect! It definitely had more flavor that I anticipated. The sliced veal “Zurich style” (not pictured) was the best dish I tried here. We requested the dish without kidneys, so not sure if that would have made a difference! The cream spinach was also a tasty side and complemented the other dishes well.

The restaurant is located in a very pleasant environment, quality price considering the city is very good. The waiter Sirio was very attentive, professional and friendly.

Authentic Italian restaurant where, in addition to many Italian classics, pizzas are also offered. There are also many vegetarian dishes on the menu, but unfortunately not a single one is vegan (unfortunately this is often the case in Italian restaurants). But on request you can also get the pizza vegan. Very attentive and courteous service.
