Pleasant place to eat and drink

Offer brunch, but are not set up for this as a concept. The selection on Etagère is Swiss normal and nothing special. No butter, no whole grain products, no honey. Nothing innovative. (more old-fashioned-classic) The whole thing for 25.-/pers. without drinks is disproportionate. Here “Schuster stick to your guns” (lunch and dinner) would probably be more appropriate. They're good at that. We would not recommend Sunday brunch.

I was just there for tea. After a hike around the Zulg. Steffisburg circular hiking trail 3.5 hours.

The building is super traditional, very pretty and has even an sophisticated interior hall. We had a good time there after a funeral, the usual ritual in these regions. I must admit the staff were superb. I can't say anything about the dishes they usually serve, as the plate of cheeses and salami with hams etc we ate was good, but apart from the perhaps off putting industrial area, it's set in, it's a very pleasant place to be. Excellent mini desserts, so don't miss out.

I can highly recommend homemade ice tea and ice cream. Most of the products are regional and also of high quality. Very nice inside and has a romantic atmosphere. However, it is also recommended outside in summer.

Food was good, but unfortunately only Grander water was on offer even though we wanted normal tap water (as of 2019). I think it's a cheek to charge 7 francs for 1 liter of normal tap water.

Recommended restaurant with a good classic menu and attractive prices. The food is very good, the service staff is friendly and attentive. Price performance is good. Ambiance is modern and open. The restaurant is easy to reach by public transport and by car (plenty of parking spaces). The restaurant is busy, so it is advisable to make a reservation.

Wonderful ambience, we immediately felt at home - high ceiling, beautiful rooms, delicious food. Service okay - not everyone is authentically friendly. One lady is extremely friendly, super competent and motivated, one was a bit put-upon and one didn't even say hello when she brought the food. So watch out a bit. Food is really very good - price/performance is great. Just beautiful! We've been there three times in a short space of time and would love to come back.

Very beautiful and carefully furnished restaurant that expresses tradition but also modernity. The dishes offered alongside the menus are classic, relatively simple and of good quality. Portions are correct. The service is friendly, fast and competent. As it is very popular, it is advisable to make a reservation. There are numerous parking spaces available for those arriving by car. Highly recommended.

Great👍 Spent 3 nights in Switzerland for the first time, one night in each hotel. This hotel is the best 😚😍 Cleanliness is great, nothing to complain about. New furniture, fresh and pleasant bedding. The room is fully equipped for people with disabilities. There are the necessary holders, unobstructed access to the bathroom, shower and bath. The view from the window is 50/50. A little saw an amazing view of the snow-capped mountains, but opposite the room itself is a construction site and a railway station. Although the windows to the balcony are quite quiet, which did not cause any trouble. In general, I highly recommend!😉👍

Ate here again after a year, unfortunately still a shadow of previous years. The lunch soup was watery and bland, the main course wasn't seasoned enough. Anyone who still knows the Schüür from 2019 will be disappointed today. There are no deficiencies in the service, everyone is friendly and prompt. Great local. But things have been going wrong in the kitchen (or the management) for a long time.

Unfortunately the plate was cold, so the food wasn't warm either.

Four out of five stars - potential is there! The tartare was very good, unfortunately not spicy enough as I had wanted and the sauces served with it no longer bring the spiciness into the meat. The roast beef was beautifully dark red and tender and the fries were crunchy. Thanks for pouring the wine! The waiter did it right and poured the wine above the line in the glass; to the delight of the guest. What should the host wish for - happy guests. The birthday dinner was a success!

Dinner on May 21, 2022: There were four of us and everyone was thrilled. In the “Schüür” everything is really right, from the reception to the service to the food including dessert. Everything was top notch and what's more, the white wine risotto is a real poem!!! We will recommend you and would be happy to come back.

I really like the atmosphere! Well furnished and very cozy outside in summer. The food is super delicious. Why only three stars? The weekly hit is 24 CHF, which is a reasonable price. But at that price I also expect to be full. And with the small portions you won't be full! I kindly asked for a second helping, which I received in reasonable quantity. But you added a whopping 8.50 CHF. Too much for me!

Nice old building. This means that all old agricultural buildings should be able to be used! Attentive service, rather simple menu design.

Fine autumn dishes, friendly service

The food was good, venison schnitzel with some dry spaetzli. The ambience is a bit strange. Very open, hardly any privacy.

Excellent saddle of venison, extremely attentive and friendly service. Cool rooms, relaxed atmosphere. Plates should be hotter, otherwise the food will cool down too quickly until the plate is served. Nice gesture: parking ticket is credited towards consumption! I will come back!

Great restaurant, the service still has potential to increase its friendliness

We had a Caesar salad as a starter and a beef entrecote with fries or baked potatoes with sour cream. Everything is homemade, fresh and of high quality. What the Schüür Restaurant reflects as a whole. The food was very fine. The restaurant is a feast for the eyes, simply great for us. The staff very friendly and professional. The apprentice's daughter was mainly responsible for the service for us. She was very courteous, very attentive and listened to our every wish. Big props for that performance. The salad buffet and the main course (daily menu) were, as always, very good. What was disappointing was our service, which, unlike usual, was quite unfriendly. And the fact that it was a waiting room on this visit (Monday lunchtime) deducts the stars.

Wir waren schon öfters zu zweit in der Schüür essen.Das Essen war jeweils top, sehr gute Küche.Nun kamen wir auf ein Nachmittags-Kaffee mit unserem 1.5 Jahren alten Sohn vorbei. Auf die Frage hin, ob wir den Shoppen unseres Sohnen mit Hahnenwasser aufgefüllt bekommen, bekamen wir als Antwort, dass kein Hahnenwasser auf der Karte sei. Wir sollen doch in der Toilette auffüllen gehen. Nun gut, nicht wirklich Familien- und Gastfreundlich. Enttäuscht und Perplex tranken wir unsere Getränke aus und stellten fest, dass an der Theke sogar ein Wasserhahn vorhanden wäre…….Nun gut, wegen der Küche könnte man sehr gerne nochmals kommen, jedoch ohne Kind. Schade.

Wirklich schöne Location. Gemütlich, modern und Top Service. Gegessen haben wir wie die Könige. Die Weinauswahl ist super, da findet jeder etwas in seinem Budget.
