The restaurant is worth a visit. Very nice view and the waiter was so incredibly friendly and gave us good advice. The food is good but could do with a little more oomph.

Stopped in for some wine while we waited for our bus to Interlaken. The waiter was friendly and helpful and picked a great local wine. Also had some delicious tomato bread, cheese, roasted peppers that were just perfect!

We made a joke about syrup and the waiter made a joke and gave us a glass of syrup as a joke. The food was excellent and the view was absolutely fantastic. I can really recommend this restaurant.

Great view. Had coffee, tea (Sirocco) and homemade cakes. Nice view of the Niesen. Nice service. Maybe I wouldn't want Sirocco's Earl Gray ;)

Superb location just right in front of the lake and easy access from the street. There are parking spaces in the front. The view is definitely a hands down with mountain end the end of the lake. The service was also very friendly, and charming. Around 10 tables inside the restaurant. I never book the table for lunch. But we do come early to get the table on the view side. The food itself were averagely good for my taste. French fried had too much salt and I have had a lot better Pizza but considering all factors, it's worth a visit, if you are around in the area - even just for a coffee with the view.

There is a little gem hidden right next to the cable car station: The Beatenbucht Seerestaurant has a beautiful terrace with a view of Lake Thun and the surrounding mountain peaks. An absolute stunner! And the best part? The service staff, who pamper their guests in an attentive, competent and extremely friendly manner.

Such a beautiful "bend".... On Lake Thun. With a delicious cup of coffee! And a bowl of water for the dogs!

Spontaneously ate pizza and salad on a Monday afternoon (3:30 p.m.). Food was served quickly by friendly staff. The location by the lake is nice, but since the main road is only about 15 meters away, it can be noisy at times.

We were impressed with quality of food, refreshing tasty gazpacho soup, the most tender beef brisket that was similar to pulled pork with fresh vegetables and sweet potato ...a real chef's delight, and very good pizza. Great value for money since food is so expensive in Switzerland 🇨🇭 but often disappointing

We visited a month ago on a hot day, waiting for the next ride up the mountain. It is a perfect spot to have a drink and eat a bit before or after any adventure. The service was nice and expedient, view of the lake beautiful. We had a deep fried rice ball with mozzarella to share, which left enough room for an ice cream dessert!

Food was good, the view was great. Service lousy. You come there as a new guest, sit at a table and have to call someone so you can order something. The waiter was unable to take orders from several tables. He worked through each table individually, then moved on to the next one when called. He never came and asked if you wanted something to drink or something, you always had to call him. He then said, "He'll come straight away" - which was usually the case after 4-5 minutes. Absolute beginners, unprofessional and not motivated!

The wine was good, I dared to ask exactly what it was… the reaction of the service staff was “I don’t have time to “storm” with you. I didn't expect such a reaction. I won't ask again in the future.

The view of the lake and the mountains is incredibly beautiful, and the beer tastes even better. The food was okay so far, but the beef was too soft, it was easy to pull apart, there was hardly any bite like pulled beef. The taste was ok. Services is also good.

Good food, service and view in one package

The food was great, first there was a small salad with panko prawns, and the main course was a very tasty Alaskan pizza. But the dessert, the banana split, what a dream! Different textures, garnished with hot roasted almonds...it was just awesome🤭😁 Well, there's nothing to say about the view over Lake Tuner, it's simply gigantic

Very friendly people, great food, great views right on the water and close to mountains. Price is just fine. Otherwise everything is great, even the animals are looked after. Animal friendly. Unfortunately not all of them are. Unfortunately there is very little vegan food and the rest is meat, a shame or not vegan. Otherwise highly recommended!!

By chance we drove to the lake restaurant after reading the pictures and reviews, we returned the next day. There is a very small parking lot, but you need a little patience until something becomes free. The restaurant is located directly on the lake and has both indoor and outdoor seating. In general, it is very small and manageable, so it is better to make a reservation. Since we came in the late afternoon, we got a place on the terrace quite quickly, but because of the time there was only pizza left, which was unfortunately only okay, so there was no reason for us to eat again, but the rest of the food looked very good but unfortunately I couldn't try it. The service is very nice and attentive. However, just because of the view of Lake Thun and Mount Niesen, it is definitely worth a visit!

The food was very fine. The map is clear and balanced. The ambience is good and the view is spectacular. The reservation including the high chair went smoothly and lunch with our two small children was great.

Great pizza, the tagliatelle was also very tasty. Only in the mixed salad were the tomatoes probably from the day before (stale and bland).

There is no food suitable for Muslims and the menu is only in German. The only good thing is the view.

This was an unexpected highlight of our trip to Merligen. Thanks to Sascha and the rest of the delightful staff, we sat outside with our three children and enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner and wonderful food and drink. Sascha was so friendly, and we really appreciated his warmth. The entire experience capped off our trip perfectly, and we look forward to going back.

We enjoyed a Saturday evening and were thrilled by the modern, well-seasoned and delicious food that was served to us. The employees were always friendly and very attentive. The only point of criticism: Some little things were forgotten/swapped; Our reservation was lost and some of our drinks and food were swapped at the table.

Great Restaurant, friendly stuff and a really nice view. Stopped by for a nibble and a drink and will definately go back for dinner or lunch. Great price value. The white wine was really good, great recommandation from the waiter. Also the pizzadough was homemade and tastet delicious. The people who are working there are super friendly and they also have a laugh with each other, that lifts the atmosphere aswell. Happy to go back soon!

We've been there a few times now and we've never been disappointed, whether it's starters, main courses (pizzas also available), desserts, and the wine recommendations have always matched the food. So it was high time for a review. Personal dessert recommendation?Lukewarm chocolate cake - often eaten in other places, but these were never as tasty as in the Seerestaurant Beatenbucht :-)
