The brunch on Sunday was simply brilliant. Everything your heart desires and much more. Super nice staff!

Great lunch menus and requests are also taken into account (more vegetables, no pasta). As you can see in the picture there was a really nice portion. There is even a top organic manufacturer for tea. Gladly again.

I'm there with my sister. Highly recommended, great food From spareribs, chicken to beef etc. I personally had one 350 gram beef steak with fried sweet potatoes, red beans, Kreuterbutter, simply top The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is simply cool, pure America.

Brütten used to be the best Stars and Stripes in Switzerland, unfortunately the quality has declined significantly. It's become more expensive and the portions are smaller, which is a shame. We'd rather go to Opfikob now

Good food, I had the farmer's salad and the ribeye steak with backed patato. Plenty of portion and perfect cooking level. The motel room was functional and clean. The morning buffet was rich, with bread, croissants, orange juice, yogurt, cheese, ham, salami, etc.

Great place in summer. We always like to come and have something to eat on the beautiful terrace at lunchtime. Sometimes the food is good, sometimes it's just ok. It's a lottery. Nice service. This time we had lunch in winter and what we didn't like was that the restaurant was barely heated. If you sit for more than half an hour, your legs start to shake. A pity.

Fun place to go for atmosphere and food. It is interesting to see their amount of memorabilia around.

Hey guys We had dinner at your place last night after my son's handball match. I have to say the hamburgers Swiss Burger and Texas Burger I ordered and the Spare Ribs BBQ for my 13 year old son were really delicious. Without exaggeration, I enjoyed every bite! My son and my wife were also thrilled. Cheesecake as a dessert is of course also very nice. Service top. Ambience cool. Keep it up!

The place delivers what it promises. It is a North American/cowboy style restaurant with very good food although it is more advisable to order things related to the hamburgers or Mexican food they sell. The service was very good from an American waiter who was quite nice to us. Regarding the price, it is a little expensive (especially if you are a foreigner) but it is worth it and also... it is Switzerland

We were able to spend a relaxing time in the garden with our two dogs; the service, as always when I was there, was friendly and competent. The long-standing employees also speak for the company. I'm always happy to be there

Unfortunately, the fried noodles were partly warm and partly cold, as if they came from the microwave. The quantity was also meager for the expensive price. The service was also unfriendly because my criticism of the food was unwelcome. I don't go there anymore.

The Stars & Strips Brütten was our main family birthday location and other family gatherings for over 25 years. In summer the garden area is very pleasant and with many shaded areas, also suitable for children. Unfortunately, it's often very loud inside the restaurant. Difficult to have a quiet conversation with lots of guests and a busy atmosphere. Unfortunately, we found that the quality of the food and the portion sizes had deteriorated significantly. Even before the corona crisis, things had noticeably deteriorated. The former Zurich ANGST meat supplier was excellent and that shows very clearly. The spare ribs, fillets, steaks, rib-eyes, etc. were of much better quality and the taste was no longer comparable to today. Likewise the portion sizes of the accompanying side dishes, dips, pickles, etc. are no longer the same. As a loyal, long-standing & good customer, it's disappointing. But prices have risen steadily. After the last three visits we most likely won't be back. :( The veggie wraps, for example, were inedible. The vegetables were already sour and my companion had to vomit several times on the way home!! The burger I ordered (half pounder) was watery, very greasy and the meat wasn't seasoned at all. The tables, some of which were wobbly, were sticky and sticky Also not wiped down. The cutlery buckets and sauce buckets were also sometimes almost empty, not felt and very often not clean. It was really a shame!! Price-performance/quality/ambience unfortunately very much diminished. -> Previously good 5 stars... :((

Nice place, little out of zurich in a country setting. They have a small 10 room motel as well. Food is “American” oriented. The spare ribs are decent but they should provide extra barbeque sauce in a litle side dish. They had some kind of home made sauce which was a very subjective choice/flavor (which apparently they stopped serving as a standard issue with the ribs). They have a nice amiamce, buckets with cutlery and napkins on the table as well as two different hotsauces. Ketchup and mayo on request at no extra cost (not self evident in europe). I oersonally did not like their burger, it was not impressive to me because the meat of the patty was very compact/compressed and the presentation was a little bit underwhelming. The place has a wooden walled, wooden roof interior which adds to the atmosphere. A terrace service is open during summer.

Now when I read Brätschnitzel, I had to avoid it. I then ordered a fitness plate with additional green beans. Unfortunately the schnitzel is already gone, it was quite small. I didn't eat all of the fries that weren't so crispy; they were clearly oversalted. The Decko lettuce leaf didn't really convince me either. The espresso, on the other hand, was hot and aromatic. The service was also very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, I won't be able to have lunch again because I have other American food ideas. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing 🤔

The service was quite okay. We waited a long time for the food and it wasn't entirely worth the wait. The plate was half full, so we were hungry again after our stay in the restaurant. The food that was served was fine.

The name and the decoration are promising. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this is the only attractive thing about the restaurant. The portions are very small and expensive. Other than the name, there's not much American about it. We had ordered two ribey steaks: medium-rare and medium, but received medium and well-done. Loaded Fries don't deserve their name either. In my opinion, STARS and STRIPES is an insult and presumption.

As soon as I entered the restaurant, it smelled like deep fryer oil. The food - well - poor quality. I make better burgers, wings and ribs at home. The service was also bottom drawer. You can safely save yourself!

Very tasty American and Tex-Mex food. Extremely friendly and courteous staff. We will come back! The kitchen is also extremely fast, which means you don't have to wait long for the food you ordered.

The many positive reviews are not entirely understandable. Went for brunch. They weren't ready at 9:30, the employees' children were lying on the floor, many of the dishes were ready-made (donuts tasted like they were from Aldi, pancakes were a ready-made mix). Spareribs “pork lettuce” were extremely tough and tough. Really good spare ribs can be pulled off with a fork. If there is no self-service coffee machine, at least put one pot per table. Staff completely ignores you when you walk through with a pot and you just have to beg for coffee. Noise level extremely high. Conclusion: OK for 42.50 but nothing more. It's better to pay 20 more for a slightly nicer location where everything is homemade and lunch dishes are also offered.

A typical American restaurant! The food and decoration are top notch. The staff are friendly. Very fine dining and the prices are very good. There are plenty of parking spaces in the area and good connections with public transport. Gladly again

Brunch on Sunday is highly recommended. TexMex/American Style Restaurant/Dining/Brunch. Mega friendly and attentive service, there were a lot of questions about coffee/etc. Cool US atmosphere, sumptuous buffet with something for everyone. No queuing/we had plenty of space in the large restaurant. From muesli, Nutella, rolls, fruit, eggs, pancakes, meat, potatoes, vegetables to super delicious spare ribs. The food tasted delicious and was especially worth visiting in a group. Some casual Harley bikers visit. Good selection of menu in the evening, reservation in the evening is recommended. Attention, sometimes tables are given away after 2 hours, I don't think it's that great/a bit tight - it's better to ask at the start for timing. There are enough parking spaces and can also be easily reached by bus 660 from Winterthur main station (Harossen stop) if everyone wants to have a drink 😊

Highly Recommended. The service was super friendly, we asked if everything was okay. We didn't have to wait long for the food, it was beautifully presented and the food tasted phenomenally good. Definitely worth a visit 👍 we will definitely come back

I can especially recommend the brunch The biggest weak point is the parking space, which is only available to a limited extent.

We used to be happy. But now a small portion of fries, these were fried with older oil to taste better and the burger meat didn't taste fresh.. but the price remained the same.. Servis is still very friendly.. we wouldn't be surprised that GL instructed the staff that way to save money.. Too bad...

Texmex food with the appropriate ambience. The flambéed beef was the visual highlight (no picture of it here). The service was very friendly and very quick.

Great ambience and American-style furnishings etc. Good food, everything went well with a spontaneous online reservation. The restaurant was very full on this Saturday evening and it was difficult to find a parking space. It's a shame, it may be that after 2 hours of sitting you have to clear the table for the next one. It's definitely great for celebrating birthdays, as it's already very loud. Despite the enormous difficulty for the staff with these short-term, spontaneous reservations, we didn't have to wait that long for the food and (despite being obviously hectic) we had a great, relaxed waiter who got the best out of it.

Went to Stars and Stripes again today. As always, the food was delicious. We had spare ribs with rice and the cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. Plus onion rings and cole slaw salad. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the prices are reasonable.

The food was good and the price was right. Unfortunately the music was a bit loud today.

The food wasn't so "wow" that I would have to stop by again soon. For the size of the restaurant it has relatively. little parking space. It's not exactly easy to reach by public transport either

It's been a long time since we went to eat at Stars ans Stripes. Positive: - large parking lot - friendly welcome - great service, the kids were also very responsive - Price/performance is ok - Food was good, everything as described and ordered, everything at a good pace - despite the full house - Fries and sauces - The buns for the burgers (are fresh from the bakery) Opportunities for improvement: The meals were good. But you could just make them better. I would give the spare ribs a 3-4 on a scale of 1-10. When spare ribs are done correctly, the bones can be easily removed by hand. It certainly depends on the quality of the meat and the preparation. The chicken wings weren't wings but just the shorter part of the wings. These were very crispy (fried) to almost dry. Here too there are only 3-4. Thank you for the lovely evening and for the team we put together!

We spontaneously wanted to go out for burgers today. There was enough space, the restaurant was empty but I think they had reservations for a later date. We were escorted to the table, given the cards and that was it. We sat there for 20 minutes, in the back corner, and were ignored. We didn't even ask for drinks, nobody came to our table anymore. We then got up and left. If you don't want guests, you shouldn't accept anyone spontaneously. The funny thing was, when we left we were given a normal farewell. This shows me that we have been completely forgotten. It can happen with 3 tables.

Today I tried the Stars and Stripes again at Bruch. The food was of poor quality. Dirty plates. Greasy chicken wings, funny-smelling spare ribs, bacon that's more dried than fried, weak beans, bland sausages... The dessert buffet was all sweets from the freezer - the brownies smelled like frozen - but the fresh fruit salad was really fresh. Way too expensive for 42.50. If the whole thing cost 25, you could turn a blind eye to certain dishes. No recommendation for this restaurant!

We actually wanted to eat there today. We stood at the entrance where it said please wait for about 5 minutes. An employee walked past us twice, didn't greet us and didn't give the impression that we were welcome here. Then we left again...Previous visits were good, but today they were subpar.

The restaurant is in a great location, very beautiful, well-kept and lovingly and detailed. Absolutely great. The service is friendly and helpful. An American-style brunch (~40.-/person) with a very large and varied all-you-can-eat buffet. The dishes are very tasty. There are also wonderful creations on the menu for dinner. The restaurant has a high price, but is also something very special.

Starter was good BBQ burgers very bad. Costs almost 30 and the meat wasn't worth it. The BBQ sauce was on the meat, that's it for the burger. What else was on the plate... For dessert I had the cheesecake. Costs almost 13.- it's really not worth it. Overpriced American store. Wouldn't mind if the burger was decent. But sorry NO.

MOTEL: NOT recommended. 1 Only hotel/motel that couldn't find a solution for a "late" check in ( midnight! Otherwise you just have to look for another place ). We managed to check in when they wanted but they made us wait 15 minutes just to do a check in. 2 The staff is very rude. 3 Disgusting place and they absolutely don't care about it. Everything broken and dirty and there are a lot of spiders and spider webs everywhere. Rusty lamps and door frames. 4 Terrible isolation. 5 When I told them there were many spiders they just said that it's "the countryside", but I've never seen an hotel with so many insects and spiders and webs, that's not "countryside", it's just "we don't care about hygiene, cleanliness and comfort at all". 6 On top of that, the motel is not even cheap. Just don't go here if you don't want to waste your money in a nightmare like this instead of enjoying some free time and sleep in a nicer place.
