The food, especially the lamb racks are very good! The employees are very polite and nice with good attitude.

A nice steak house. You have a good, large map that is still clear. This means you can order different quantities of different types of meat. The sauces and side dishes are also very good.

Food is very carelessly made. Barbecue cashier. Meat quality in the lower third. Service was very friendly and attentive. Otherwise too loud, bad acoustics, Conversation at normal volume not possible. I wouldn't come again.

Food top. Unfortunately the meat and the side dish didn't come at the same time. Had to wait a few minutes until the side dish came. During this time I had eaten half of the 400 steak. It is often very busy and therefore not particularly quiet. therefore ambience 1 point deducted. We'd love to come back.

Very good food. The horse fillet was very tasty, tender and grilled the way I wanted it. The marrow bone as a starter was amazing! Something delicious that you rarely find in a restaurant. Personally, the room is a bit too loud for me, which is why I only gave it 3 stars for the ambience. I will definitely go there again.

I had the pleasure of visiting Steakhouse Bahnhof and can highly recommend it. The restaurant's ambience is elegant and inviting, perfect for a romantic dinner. The steaks were of outstanding quality and cooked perfectly. The meat was tender and juicy, just the way I like it. The service staff was extremely attentive and friendly. The desserts were also fantastic and were the perfect end to a wonderful evening. We'll be back to enjoy the good steaks.

THE place to be for meat lovers in Central Switzerland! Featuring a charcoal-based grill, an extensive selection of meats including beef, pork, lamb, and seafood, along with a great variety of wines. The ambiance, especially at the high tables, will transport you to a steakhouse in the US or Argentina. The staff is very friendly and helpful. While the location may come with a higher price tag, it's definitely worth it and highly recommended. BTW: Consider taking the train. This way, you can fully enjoy more than one glass of good wine.

I was there on a Sunday evening. It was “busy” i.e. every table was occupied. The noise level was appropriate and the service was also overwhelmed, so there are only three stars each for the ambience (noise) and the service (long waiting time). But food was very good!! In summary: RECOMMENDED 😊😋

Totally overrated and absolutely nothing special. The steak tasted like absolutely nothing. Absolutely bland and without any taste. Not even the simplest requirement to preserve the medium was implemented. The fish dishes are prepared at the same time as the meat on the same grill, so the other order (salmon steak) also tasted like pork. Price-performance is also not right. The drinks were a laughing stock and a failure (more ice than content and no pizzazz)! For that money I'd rather go to a posh restaurant in Zurich City! Once and never again. Pure disappointment!

The food was amazing, and the steak was really on the point. We really enjoyed. It was a bit overcrowded, but it was valentinesday, and we didn't have that feeling of privacy. They placed us with another couple. We also ordered a tartare beef and it was also delicious. Really enjoyable experience.

This is a steakhouse that lives up to its name. The meat is of the highest quality and is cooked to perfection. Lamb and horse highly recommended. The menu offers a wide selection of meat/fish. The service is top and the atmosphere is cozy with the open fireplace.

02/08/2024 - Dinner. The manager welcomed us nicely. The restaurant was very full and therefore really noisy. The service, a young, nice gentleman, was great! Very attentive. Drinks and food actually came quickly. Beef entrecote was ordered (medium-rare) but it was initially rare in terms of cooking level. However, it was improved again on the grill. And fries were delivered. Otherwise the food was really tasty, including the good salad dressing. Disturbing: very loud, plates are cold, no real steak knives like Victorinox or something. We'll definitely come back again when it's quieter. Or the roof is open in summer or outside. Top: Otherwise the taste is really great. However, given the price, this is actually to be expected. So the price/performance ratio is actually okay.

We were there for dinner on February 3rd, 2024. The service was very good and friendly. Birgit the waitress was very attentive! The food came quickly and it tasted very good. I could recommend it to everyone.

I was looking forward to a nice evening with good food. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed. The cheeseburger was inedible, the meat had a strange taste and strange consistency. The waiter noted my feedback, but paid little attention and didn't respond to it at all. It was probably my last visit.

Many thanks to Mr. Leo Morina for the very friendly service. All courses were at our table on time, even though there were 12 of us. We were loud, impatient and hungry - but he behaved very professionally. Bravo.

There were 3 of us who arrived without a reservation at 12.30, they seated us without any problem. The manager is very friendly and original, he speaks English very well as well as German. The waitress only spoke German but made an effort to try to speak English and we appreciated the effort. The place is nice, very sturdy and non-flattering tables, very bright and rustic. You can see the meat cooking on the grill and they sell olive oil in beautiful colored bottles. We ate a pork cutlet, a double cheeseburger and a rare ribeye. All superb, served with various house sauces as well as the delicious green sauce made by them. The bill was now salty... but we ate very well! Definitely a recommended place.

One of the best cuts of meat I've ever eaten! Side dishes are rather standard (since they are convenience products) and too expensive for the price charged. But meat is totally worth it!!! Price/performance ratio of the drinks but absolutely ok. Service was friendly but a bit awkward. Ambience: could be better (we didn't sit in the main restaurant, but in a separate room with close seating).

We, a larger group of over 10 people, were able to spend an absolutely excellent evening at the Bahnhöfli. I have rarely experienced such attentive, professional and friendly service in a restaurant, simply top and a huge compliment to the gentleman. Since we had reserved in advance, including 2 children and a dog, we got a suitable table. The children's card can be colored on the back, which keeps even the little ones busy. Crayons were brought without asking. A food bowl with water was also brought to our dog. Very attentive and we dog owners really appreciate it when the dog is not only tolerated, but also warmly welcomed like all guests. The food was terrific. The meat is very high quality and tender. The presentation was also something to behold and we didn't miss anything. Recommendation 100%

I'm actually an extremely skeptical steakhouse visitor. 4/5 stores are not for me or I'm just unlucky. However, the “Bahnhöfli” is an extremely insider tip. The quality of the meat paired with the wood grill accent of the perfectly cooked steak is incredible. Service is tip top. Salad was also incredibly good. Quality has its price, but gladly again.

Nice steakhouse with a somewhat limited menu of cuts of beef and very few sides compared to other places in other european countries or North America. Asked for medium they have me rare so I sent it back for more time on the grill. Pretty expensive for what it is. One of the few places where I have seen horse meat on the menu. Overall a decent meal.

The food is great. Of course it's meat-heavy, but it's also a steakhouse. There is a huge selection of meat dishes but there is also something for vegetarians. My 400g beef entrecôte was excellent. The steakhouse isn't cheap, but what's on offer isn't everyday either. The service is efficient, fast and very friendly. A place for special moments.

I had a drink today because my car broke down. But I also had something to eat. Very nice, courteous staff and great atmosphere. Really an insider tip. It's best to make a reservation as it's heavily booked, especially in the evening.

Even when the house is full (in a somewhat noisy atmosphere), the "Bahnhöfli team" always manages to work very precisely, be it in service or at the grill, where the staff deliver top performance even under high pressure and appear exceptionally friendly. This consistency at a high level deserves unreserved special praise!

Very good place to eat steak. I could probably say that it is on the pricey side, but it's worth it. I don't speak German or Swiss (German), and they don't speak English, but the staff made a real effort to manage the situation, and communication was just a very minor thing. I was celebrating my anniversary and they made it really special. Our dessert resembled the flavors of our wedding cake, and they did so on short notice. I am not just satisfied with this place, but I am also very grateful for the experience.

Friendliness is top! Very good information is provided regarding intolerances to certain substances with a clear allergy table (exemplary!!!). - Interesting drinks menu (unfortunately wines from Portugal were missing, but that's a matter of taste and we discussed it briefly). - Lighting quality on the tables is rather at the lower limit; looks so darkly pretty, but in practice it is not only advantageous. - Climate / air quality very good. - I like the general atmosphere. - Other: I wonder if the food and drink menus as well as the condiment utensils are btr. Pepper and salt are disinfected before they are handed over to the guests. Basically and generally very satisfied. The one missing star is at the expense of the points of criticism mentioned. If you want to eat a good steak, the steakhouse in Mettmenstetten is the best choice in the Knonauer Amt. The menu alone is inspiring, as guests have the choice of meat, quantity and level of cooking - and it is served to perfection. The burgers are also really great and are worth a detour alongside the steaks. The service is also very attentive and friendly. The location is also convenient, right next to the train station and yet very quiet. So even after enjoying a bottle of red wine together, you can take public transport home without having to worry about having to hand over your ID. I'll definitely come back

A place you would not expect such a top notch Steakhouse, the very countryside village scenery, a bit of an industrial feel close by, the train station right next to it for easy access with the S-Bahn, is an ideal quick journey away from Zürich, Zug or Luzern. A massive investment to cope with the current pandemic situation to accommodate you and your guests with the best possible out-door-tent solution possible, as long it lasts. See pictures. We had the lunch buffet which is good value for price.

We wanted to visit the restaurant today. We have been there many times and the food and service were impressive. The reservation had already been made with a note that a larger dog was there. Received confirmation by email that randplatz was OK. But then today, shortly before the visit, the call came with a strange question about how big the dog was and the information that it would be very crowded and loud. We canceled our table because we didn't feel welcome with a dog. Since the restaurant is always full one way or another, they won't be able to cope with us not coming anymore. Greetings Update: Restaurant has a great complaint management system. The managing director took on the matter and actively involved the customer in optimizing the process. That's why there are now additional stars!

My first visit to Bahnhöfli was shortly after it opened and I have been able to eat excellent steaks here several times over the years. The reception was very friendly and the online reservation worked. On my last visit, my dish, as well as that of the others in my group, was wonderful. The rating is “poor” because of the wine list. We often go out to different restaurants together and like to drink a bottle of wine with our dinners. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible at Bahnhofli. The prices on the wine list are extraordinarily high. We couldn't even consider having wine by the glass. We ended up not ordering any wine and weren't willing to pay those wine prices. I would like to eat at Bahnhöfli again. But that will depend on the wine prices. A good wine goes with such a fine piece of meat. So if you like a cola with your fillet, I can highly recommend the Bahnhöfli. The dishes and service are top. Dear Bahnhöfli, please reconsider your wine prices, I would like to eat with you again.

Unfortunately I won't be visiting this restaurant again as I don't want to support poor service. The quality of the food is very good, but unfortunately the service leaves something to be desired. I have been to this restaurant about 13 times and 4 visits were good and the rest were not good to very bad. A good visit for me was when the food came as ordered and the staff was friendly. Now a few bad points with examples and at the end all points in a nutshell: 1. Very often the cooking levels were not adhered to, usually it was too cooked, e.g. E.g. if you ordered medium-rare, it often came medium-well to well-done and every now and then, if someone ordered it medium-well or well-done, it came rare. 2. Orders are not delivered as offered. I ordered a beef tartare and you could order it with different levels of spiciness, so I ordered it very spicy. The tartare wasn't spicy at all, I had my companions test it to see if it was just me (it wasn't). When I pointed this out to the waitress, they simply brought me a small bowl of spicy sauce, then when I said it didn't work that way, I had ordered a ready-made tartare and not one that I had to prepare myself, then I was told now like that and that was the end of the conversation. 3. The staff is very quickly overwhelmed and also very quickly becomes rude. -If you report something because e.g. For example, if a cooking level is not good, then the service staff is immediately overwhelmed and has to call the restaurant manager of the evening (there are several of them). The restaurant managers get rude very quickly, e.g. For example, I pointed out the cooking level because I usually order medium-rare and it was too cooked, then they often said it was medium-rare. I had to say several times that this wasn't the case because I know what medium rare looks like, I eat 500g-1kg of meat every day and I also grill a lot, so I've gained the experience to know when Medium-rare or not, it was only after a lengthy discussion that I was offered a new meat. -Once a gentleman was the leader of the evening and when I pointed out to him that the doneness was not good, he said in an aggressive tone that it was as ordered and when I said no, I was very aggressive Gaze stared for about 20 seconds. until he realized that I was right and only then was I offered a new meat. The leader's behavior left me very irritated for the rest of the evening. This is behavior that is not possible, no matter what the reason was, you don't react like that. Positive: +Good food quality +Pleasant atmosphere Negatives: -Cooking levels are often not adhered to -Long waiting times from starter to main course 30-60 minutes -Cheeky staff who make claims and when you complain, they look at you with disinterest in the sense of yeah, shut up and go. -Staff is not properly trained, be it the kitchen where the food is not prepared as ordered or the service who rarely apologizes when something is not as it should be or cannot cope without the leader of the evening. -Complaints were heard but unfortunately there was no improvement. -Unfortunately, we were only very rarely accommodated, be it with the price or with an offer. I think it's a shame because this restaurant was very good at the beginning (before Covid), but it started to decline after the 3rd time. The restaurant would still be good if the staff were better trained. I go to a restaurant because of the service and if the service isn't right, then I don't have to go there because I can cook the whole thing cheaper at home without having to bother myself.
