Steakhouse Meat Me in Zürich

We had a nice steak dinner in this cozy place. The staff was very friendly and since we sat on the bar we spent part of the evening talking to them. The food was good and the price was very reasonable.

Food very good. Just keep in mind that although the dishes on the online menu are still the same, the prices for lamb, for example, are +5 CHF. The ambience is okay, the service and the coordination between each other are simply unacceptable. When making the reservation, I added as a comment that it was 1 person's birthday and asked for gluten-free bread. No reaction. I called 6 hours before the appointment. Yes, they would have a candle for the birthday and gluten free bread. When we arrived there was gluten-free bread and, if requested, normal bread for the accompaniment. The table was set like any other. When I ordered dessert I was hoping for a candle, but nothing came. Summary: you can eat well, service could be improved and unsuitable for a special occasion.

The side dishes were also top notch and complemented the steak perfectly. The portions were generous and each dish was beautifully presented. All in all, my visit to the "Meat Me" Steakhouse was an unforgettable experience. The ambience was inviting, the service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a first class steakhouse experience. I will definitely come back.

Four of us (including two former chefs) had the pleasure of dining at Meat Me last night and found it delicious! The lomo platter was deliciously prepared, and when the meat cooled down a bit, it was immediately reheated at our request. The sauces and sides were also delicious, although the sweet potato fries could have been a little crispier. Overall, a great experience with a great atmosphere that invites you to linger. We will be back.

Service unprofessional. We waited 40 minutes until we received drinks. I ordered my filet medium rare but it came well done. Don't come back.

This place is small and the tables are almost too next to each other. The service is nice, sometimes too present, sometimes not enough. The bread and meat were great, the rest (salad and sauces) were not cared for enough for my taste (too coarse on the plate or too seasoned).

The price-performance ratio is not right here at all. Although we ordered the same thing, the portions were different. But the absolute highlight is the hospitality of the waiters... Unfortunately hardly any German, careless and arrogant. There are definitely better steakhouses where the guest is still a guest and not a milking cow. It was my first and last time there... When it came to paying, he was unfriendly, uncooperative and laughed at us...(5 Persons) with a 50.-Fr. tip you position yourself differently as a waiter, don't you ?! That was definitely the worst 50.-Fr tip... unfortunately in peer pressure although not deserved. Service 0 Stars if i can choose.

Food was good but not exceptional. But still good. Service was also good. It seemed a bit gangster mafia environment. Also the price is quite heavy. Even after living in Switzerland 15 years, I was amazed at the price of two porterhouse steaks 260 chf for two persons. Basically if you are willing to pay anything for guaranteed good beef this is the place to go. I don’t think I would recommend it overall. 423 chf for the picture you see. Probably 200 chf overpriced.

Good meat, inadäquate and disappointing Service. I never felt so badly served in Zurich before. Had a dinner tonight (Wednesday) with a friend; the classical dine and chat. We booked the table at 8, but only few tables were occupied (=> booking was not needed). We ordered an Argentinian entrecote, with spinach and grilled vegetables as a side. water and beer to drink. Waiter come back 2 times to collect missing pieces of the order. Water come after few minutes, while we were asked to be patient with the beer, since barrel had to be changed. No bead and butter were served, even if the table was settled for this (likely it was forgotten). Meat was served after 10 minutes accompanied by sauces and sides. All Very tasty and properly cooked. Beer… was not served. After the meat was finished we asked the waiter to cancel the order of the beer, and it ended up in having been forgotten. Waiter apologised for this. We were then asked if we would have liked to order something more (which we declined at that moment) and, without asking we were delivered the bill and the waiter with the card reader. Any wish for ordering something more to accompain the chat (still in progress) vanished at 9:30… feeling pushed to leave the restaurant (closing at 11). We had drink somewhere else… was pity to have a good dinner in such unprofessional place.

Avoid at all costs, Do not recommend at all, there was not one positive thing I could even write. So over priced, do not waste your money!! Firstly, we ordered a drink and then it sat on the counter waiting for someone to bring it over to us for about 15 minutes. The prices are so over priced for the experience and the food. We ordered the 400g rump steak (74 Swiss frank) and it was the most bland thing I have ever tasted and to add it came out cold. My partner also ordered a salad for her main but they brought the salad out with the starter. The wait for the steak was about an hour which I simply don’t understand when we ordered it rare. The waiter or owner (not sure who) sat outside chatting to locals. Service just like the food, not good at all. I have never ever complained or said anything about food but when we finished and the waiter asked how it was, I could not lie and was my first ever complaint. Got offered a coffee complimentary but we declined it.

There is really excellent meat here, cooked to perfection. The service is also top and the wine selection including advice is also impeccable. The service was always very attentive but never intrusive. The preparation of the meat was perfect and the dessert was also very tasty. A thank you to the Meat Me team for the evening.

Unfortunately, contrary to other reviews, I have to say that we weren't able to enjoy a nice evening in the "Steakhouse" Meat Me because of the food and the service. If so, it was because of the alcohol. The service was unprofessional, sorry, but staring into your smartphone and sitting at the bar is not the standard in Zurich restaurants that charge more than 20 francs for a menu. Lomo de Argentino sounds fine, and is fine, but not in Meat Me. Meat, cooked through to dry. Only the person standing at the grill at Meat Me knows how to achieve this. Way too expensive and just bad.

We really enjoyed our evening here. The table was spacious. The steaks were really nice. We love all the sauces that were given. Just one point deducted, he served my steak to my husband and his steak to me. It isnt a big deal but thinking if I come with friends that would be weird to switch steak after half way of eating. Bread was good, service was good. The view from the window is not so pleasant but it is ok.

We had a voucher and tried out the restaurant accordingly. Edi's service was excellent and extremely child friendly! The food was great!! Meat and vegetables were excellent. It's been a long time since I've eaten so well. Would go again immediately! Highly recommended!

Steak was extremely overpriced, under seasoned, under weight, and overcooked. Service was some of the worst I've experienced. The restaurant was dead and now I know why. Stay away at all costs!

The food is good, the selection of wine is appropriate. However, paying 300 CHF for 2 people and still waiting 45 minutes to eat, after almost begging to receive our food, is not excusable. No apologies from the manager, no discounts of any sort, had to ask twice or trice for the bill. Definitely to avoid.

Food was tasty, but nothing special and overpriced in our opinion. We found the service to be bad (not very friendly, wrong side dish served, long wait for the right side dish, etc.). In addition, the two main courses we ordered (filet and rib eye steak) were served together on a large plate to share... that wasn't on the menu. The ambience in the back room wasn't really great either due to the loud music and hustle and bustle (we had a reservation). Our conclusion: not a good price-performance ratio.

We dined at this restaurant this week. The waiting time seemed too long and then in the kitchen they mixed up my plate. We complained about this error and the waitress admitted what happened and fixed it, the waitress was very kind by the way. The food was good but the plate of old cured meat did not surprise me as much as I expected.

It was the first time and not the last one! The food was amazing, the people really kind and the restaurant really busy. We loved it!

This steakhouse is HIT!!! The service was very friendly and attentive. The meat is grilled very tender and the side dishes are simply top!!! The salsiccia (starter) was to die for, especially the spicy sauce. Aldo the owner fulfilled every wish. The wine leaves nothing to be desired! THANK YOU MEATME!!!

Food was ok, but not good value for money. A piece of bacon on the burger for 2.- Fr. Service very chaotic. Side dishes are brought after you have eaten, even though you have pointed out several times that something is still missing.

Unfortunately, we experienced some losses in service and food quality. One colleague wasn't given any wine, but everyone else was. The main course took a long time and we had to ask. One steak was cold and not as requested. Unfortunately, no one asked during our stay whether we needed anything else. One bottle of wine was listed too many on the bill. Very unfortunate. And unfortunately not an apology.

Today I celebrated my colleague's birthday in this restaurant. First of all, hats off, it was my first time there and I was greeted personally by the two bosses, shaking hands and introducing myself. Bravo for this gesture. The food was phenomenal and the hospitality hardly resembles Switzerland. And anyone who says food is too expensive should know that it's worth it. 10/10 will now be a regular restaurant.

We went to the restaurant in the evening for a birthday dinner for two without a reservation. We received a very friendly welcome and were assigned a nice table. The service was extremely nice and competent. The food was very good. As a surprise, we were even served a birthday dessert. The price-performance for Zurich was ok. We will happily visit “Meat Me” again.

Had a business lunch here today. Unfortunately I forgot the photo of the main course. At least from 2 starters. The meat was excellent and all the side dishes were very good. It's not exactly cheap but it's really worth the money. You can really treat yourself. Gladly again.

Probably this comment I think is more for not swiss people but more for the tourists: The restaurant is reeeeeeeaally expensive for the quality of the meat and the general service!!!! The meat was very good, but, for example we paid a lot of money but the sides dishes were not included !! I've never seen that, normally if you take a steak you have a small salade or french fries... The two small glass of white wine was good, but the red one not so much. But the worse thing was that the prices were not clear at all and we had a very bad surprise at the end!

All our food and drinks were great. The server helped us order the right amount of food for the three of us. Meats were being grilled in an area visible to us adding to the charm. We were waiting for someone to bring us a check and then one of the owners/managers came out to say that he had a large group coming. Well ok, bring us the check and we'd be outta there. Chalk it up to just everyone being unfamiliar with each other's expectations. Overall we had a good time.

The restaurant and the tables are extremely small, so it is not pleasant to eat in this atmosphere. The food was good but the price-performance ratio was beyond good and bad. But what was amazing was that we had barely finished eating when we were asked to clear the table for other guests. We couldn't even order a coffee, let alone a dessert. I would like to mention that the two of us received a bill for 2 fillets; one side dish each; 5 dl. Wine; 2 water and an appetizer, from SFr. 315.00 had to be paid. We will definitely not recommend this restaurant and will definitely not visit it again!!

Looked promising, warm welcome, nice atmosphere although a little cramped, but we had an early reservation, so not many people there yet. Service very nice, but not particularly competent - the waiter had no idea about any of the cuts of meat. Steaks not good at all, no taste, overpriced for that kind of quality, plus overcooked… sauces definitely not made in-house, sides all greasy and they got our order all mixed up, so had to wait until they brought the correct food. Very pushy re alcohol, although we said many times we don’t drink. Overall very disappointing. We only had two steaks, four sides, water and one apero and it cost almost 250… really surprising that the reviews are that good! Never again.

Location is nice but the value for money is catastrophic. If you've no problems with overpaying for something that isn't wort it, it's probably the place to go for you. Once in a lifetime experience.

The food badly disappoints, especially at this price. We got served “medium rare” steaks that had no hint of pink inside; some starters and sides were OK but nothing really great. For 150+ CHF per person (without wine) that’s way below expectations.

Cannot recommend. Very loud people, also the owner and his friends. They need to calm down and try to make it a more relaxing and calm atmosphere for customers. The atmosphere is not like a steak house, more like a shisha lounge - which can be nice, but not what we expected.

The two of us went here for dinner on a Friday. Short-term reservations only work by telephone! We got a nice table. Basically I think the tables are much too small. If you order 2 menus, you hardly have room for everything. The food came in a reasonable time and it was very good. The waitress was friendly, attentive and knew her stuff. I deduct one star for the prices. I know we're in Zurich but I still think it's too high. And if you don't like the taste of barbecue in the air, you should consider visiting. I thought it was ok, but you did smell a bit like smoke afterwards.

Had reserved a table opposite Lunchgate at short notice. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the restaurant, the employees didn't know anything about it. I only got a table in the smoking area. I haven't smoked for 14 years so this was a bit disappointing. But because I was very hungry, I stayed. I was then surprised by the very nice service and the food was really excellent and made me look past the smoking area. The tartare was very tasty and my ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. I would be happy to come back. But next time I will make a reservation by phone to make sure it works. The only point deduction is for the smoking area, which in my opinion is no longer needed these days.

It was okay. Whilst the presentation and service was excellent, I can't help but be disappointed with the steak which lacked in flavor, taste and crust. Even more so disappointing as the uncook cuts looked nicely marbled and the coal fire grill on full display just seemed like this was going to be a slam dunk. Really appreciated the fact that staff came to show us the slabs of meat they would cut our steaks from but that might have given away the fact they were clearly not seasoned for long enough before cooking. Sides were good and the dessert was very tasty. Effectively everything was great... Except the steak. I suspect this was most driven by underseasoning and a fix could take the place up to four or five stars.

Unfortunately, service was very uncoordinated (steaks were served in uniform cooking levels, even though they were ordered differently). Steaks were OK - not particularly tasty. Restaurant owners and their friends smoked in the restaurant, which was extremely unpleasant.

Service was very nice and tried hard, but not competent. When we asked how much the fish cost we were told that it varied??, uh, ok. Food was ok, price performance was absolutely catastrophic. Totally overpriced and the quality is not good for these prices. There is no red wine for less than 90 francs. What is advertised online is not actually on the menu. I asked for the mustard sauce that was on the menu and received a bowl of mustard (from the tube). The sauces in general were definitely from a bag and not homemade. Portions very small, the lamb was just acceptable, the grilled vegetables were really good. The bottom line is that we will never come to this restaurant again. If you want really good meat at good prices, go to the steakhouse in Mettmenstetten. These are different circumstances.

We took a Porterhouse (1.5kg) and ordered it medium-rare to medium. We received a well done chewy piece of meat. Very very disappointing. Additionally the wine is very overpriced. Therefore, it was the last time for me.

There were only 5 tables in the restaurant and the service was slower than a burger the first and last time. 😔😔😔

This is about my first and likely last visit there on Feb 19, 2022. First item in the steaks section, the rib eye, was sold out. A steakhouse without a rib eye isn't a steakhouse. The wine list is short, which by itself is OK, but the first bottle I ordered was sold out. Starters and desserts were nice, the steak disappointed. The filet side of the porterhouse was cooked to a crisp, not medium rare. Only realized after I had eaten the other side (also medium to medium well rather than rare), should and would have returned otherwise. It was near impossible to get the staff's attention to order more water, drinks, or to settle the bill.

One of the best steakhouses in the city of Zurich. A very nice atmosphere with a top selection of starters. the Meat Me warm starter with Jacob's mussels, prawns, empanadas and salsiccia. A Mix Platter With Lomo and Us Rib Eye with Sweet Potatoes and Kuhns Spinach. The Toblerone Mousse is a must with an espresso and a Grandmarnier Smoking lounge and park options at Müllerstrasse 8 Highly recommended

Food was ok and the service was unsympathetic. It's a shame, but it looked promising.

We made reservations for a team dinner for 15 people 8 days ago. Today I was canceled for tomorrow, with the reason "you can't make big tables on the weekend" (in my opinion, they accepted too many reservations) and unsatisfactory solutions were suggested. Have to say, would not recommend this unprofessional behavior.

A good restaurant. However, there is a little more to a very good one. I had to order a clean tablecloth and the waiter was immediately on a first-name basis with me. I've eaten the tenderloin before. Thanks for the extra dessert for my birthday. None the less, I will visit you again and try something different. Greetings to the other birthday child.

Valentine's Day disaster. More appearance than reality!!! My husband and I had made a reservation in the non-smoking section, but upon arrival we found out that there was only room in the smoking section, without any real reason. The waiter didn't even bring us to the table, we sat and waited for 20 minutes until the waiter asked us about the drinks, even though he walked past us several times. The staff was extremely overwhelmed and unfriendly. Anyway, we left the restaurant and he thought it was funny and replied 'mainly you're lucky in love', no excuse. Thanks for nothing !

Very fine cuisine and courteous hospitality. We had a short wait because it was full, but we were able to wait at the bar and enjoy a very nice glass of house wine. I'll definitely be happy to come back! See you next time.

We heard exactly the same thing from the guests present. A couple even left without ordering. The food is overrated, the waiters are disorganized and don't do a good job. I would rather spend the money in a restaurant where the guests are valued. Never again.
