Prices tend to be in the upper range. Products not bad, but nothing more. Service sometimes catastrophic. Unfriendly, unmotivated - you feel anything but welcome. Will avoid this bakery in the future.

I have been a customer at the Steinbach Bakery since I was a child. Unfortunately, I have to say that the quality has deteriorated significantly in recent years. Often the bread is underbaked or too salty. Unfortunately, the taste of the cakes and pastries does not correspond to the price. On my last visits the staff was very unfriendly and unaccommodating.

Lunch on a Sunday. Unfortunately it wasn't a blast, for example the advertised menu meat was of poor quality and none of our group found it edible. It's a shame but it can happen.

Many options to pick up backery items including cakes and pastries. It also offers the dine-in option.

I also bought a Chnorz at the market yesterday and thought it must be great, from the wood-fired bakery. You still have to work on that doughy not baked through. I also bought Berliners... At least I see an expiry date at Migros. Find another job. What can I say now, everything used to be fine and good at Steinbach, except for the sour boss... but I didn't want to buy that either ;0))

Dear smokers, it's best not to come to Steinbach on a Sunday. Smokers are not welcome on this day!! Smokers used to be allowed to smoke at least until midday, but apparently not anymore as of Good Friday. Apparently they prefer an empty store! Today Sunday May 7th, 2023 there again, same situation, again the door from the fumoir to the restaurant was open. But today the door was closed and you were suddenly allowed to smoke. No line, no plan! Not that easy to learn for the many apprentices. This applies today and this applies tomorrow!

The range is generous and very good. Price wise. The white forest cake is a hot tip.

I've been to the store several times now and have unfortunately always been disappointed. Unfortunately, price-performance is not right for me. Average at best...

I bought a Kernen Chnorz at the market yesterday and thought it must be great, from the wood-fired bakery. Was your oven broken? The dough wasn't baked through. Completely gooey and with a pungent yeast smell and taste. This kind of fudgy would be great with cakes, but with bread it just gives you a stomach ache. I briefly considered whether this was a dough blank for baking at home. According to the comments, this seems to happen quite often. Service was friendly, but a 0.5 star. But something like that shouldn't happen. Not again. A pity.

It used to be very good and now visited again after years, poor and incompetent service, black forest cake is inedible.

I recently had lunch in the restaurant of the Steinbach wood-fired bakery. Lunch wasn't bad. Service was very attentive and friendly. I had to pay extra for the bill and I bought a small 250g loaf of bread to go with it. That's true the next day inedible and that for 3.50 Fr. plus the muffins, dried pieces etc. were just lying around Don't be surprised if you don't have any guests anymore.

The staff is very friendly and the croissants are simply amazing! So delicious!!!

Burger quite acceptable. Waiting time too long, credit card is not accepted, only postal and EC cards It used to be better...

Unfortunately, it has declined significantly in recent years. Despite the high price level, Mütschli, croissants, etc. are relatively small and dry. Other products have also declined in quality and quantity. I will avoid in the future. It's a shame, I used to really enjoy shopping there.

Pies are good Bread rather less...I expect more from the wood oven. For me it has decreased massively in the last few years. Most of the cream slices are made from the cream mixture not mixed properly, and feels like it consists of 99% just whipped cream... I really don't like going there anymore...

Price for brunch on Sunday was worryingly high, considering that the cheese and ham didn't even taste like it, everything was pretty bland. It's great that the shop opens so early

Nice bakery and also open on Sundays. Unfortunately we already had 2x wood-fired bread which we didn't like very much. The bread had too little salt and was a bit doughy. But the chocolate croissant was pretty good. 😉

The croissants were very dark at the bottom, very dry and did not rise well. The braid looks unattractively braided. In the future, we'll prefer to get baked croissants at Migros for Sunday brunch.

This Saturday I bought a plait and some bread at the Thun market. Price CHF 14.90 Wow, we thought, at this high price the baked goods must be delicious.... But unfortunately we were far, or very far, from the truth! The bread and the plait were so hard and dry that we now have to worry about dust not blowing around the next time we go to the toilet... Conclusion: Expensive does not necessarily mean good. Once and never again

I wasn't entirely happy with my visit and with what I bought. Two canapés (prepared with stick eggs, taste so-so) and 250g of bread, which was rather dry, cost 12.-. My debit Mastercard, which is being issued by more and more banks, was not accepted, and none of my other cards were accepted, so I was forced to get cash.

Unfortunately, it often happens that the bread is not baked through. A pity. Otherwise the so-called “Chnorz” breads would be very good.

Super fine croissants and bread. Depending on the staff, you are greeted and served in a friendly or less friendly manner. Tea room next door good, but already showing its age. We always enjoy having breakfast there. Enough parking spaces available. Playground for children outside could be better, or to be entertained...

Bakery products and restaurant not to my taste

I have been visiting the Steibach for many years Coffee. I like it very much

Had coffee with a hiking group, the waitress seemed stressed, no question as to whether we wanted some pastries with the coffee!!! Not a good saleswoman!

Bread without taste. Apparently we already received more bread from the day before. Bread was hard and inedible. 3 king cake bought on 3 king's day was hard and much smaller than you are used to at a very proud price of over CHF 7.-. That was my last purchase from Steinbach.

Unfortunately disappointing. I ordered Daddy's Burger Menu. Various variations of the burger are offered on the menu, I chose the burger with a fried egg (in the burger). I then got a burger without a fried egg. Instead, a slice of boiled egg (such as is often found in salad) was placed in the burger. It's a shame that this wasn't communicated and that nothing could be done about the price. So the price is way too expensive! Fries not well done, salad sloppy. Staff friendly but slow; Waiting time too long! I ate a very good cream slice from the bakery.

A little out of the way, the bakery impresses with its freshness. Very good quality and inexpensive and the service is also very friendly.
