Good restaurant especially in summer because of the location. You can enjoy the great views from Rapperswil Promenade. The food is generally very good and there is a large selection of meat, vegetarian and fish dishes. There are also 2 lunch menus every day. I would give another 5th star if my schnitzel was even better and crispier. After all, a great option for Rapperswil.

Were only there for a glass of wine and the staff was very unfriendly.

The dishes have already been presented. The veal liver was perfectly prepared. Location simply fantastic with the view. Employees need to work a little on being friendly, even when there is stress.

Was passing through Rapperswil and was in the mood for game. Became aware of the restaurant's good menu. The boss greeted me very nicely and was very pleasant. I can say I had the tastiest venison pepper since I can remember. The pumpkin soup as a starter was also very tasty. Thanks for the greeting from the kitchen. I'll definitely come back even if I'm not from nearby.

After a very, very long wait, the “Geschnetzelte Zurich Style” arrived for 44 Fr. At most 100 grams of meat, maybe half of a mushroom and a bit of hash browns. It tasted good, but the price for this measly portion was an absolute disgrace. Added to this is the long waiting time and the unfriendly and not very attentive service. For dessert there was Viennese apple strudel with vanilla sauce, which probably had to be picked up in Vienna as we waited almost as long for this dessert as for the main course. The dough was soggy and the sauce was very runny and hardly tasted like anything. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Enjoy the covered terrace with view to the promenade and the like. Good food on some menus you can order small portions. Friendly staff all in all a place worth visiting again

Very good restaurant with exquisite dishes, some with an Austrian touch, for example original Viennese veal schnitzel. Very friendly service staff and very good food. We'd love to come back.

We had a lovely lunch at this restaurant, the waitress was friendly and welcoming and found us a nice table outside. She also took the drinks order immediately and we found ourselves with a menu and drinks for all of us in 7 minutes of arriving. The food was good, my wife had the Tartar and my son had the Cordon Bleu, I had the Züri Geschnetzeltes which was lovely. The setting is a view of the lake and some good people watching of the people coming from the boat. Great experience. Loved it.

Beautiful terrace and great View of Lake Zurich. Thanks to the parasols there are nice shaded areas. The reservation via telephone worked perfectly and otherwise, the staff was attentive and very friendly. The food was very tasty and the veal liver was perfectly served. We will be back definitely

A group of about 10 shouting drunks prevented any normal conversation in a generally good bar. The later the evening, the louder... NOGO at this level.

Service unfriendly, furnishings very puritan and old school, more for simpler needs but at a very high price. Older regulars and Swiss people are given priority. We don't come here anymore.

The food was very tasty and the service was attentive. The terrace offers a great view and sunshine until the end. Unfortunately, the plates weren't preheated enough and the food ended up cold. The espresso was far too watery, therefore “only” 4 stars.

I had dinner here with my father last Friday. We arrived by ship like many others and because of the huge rush, we thought we'd have a drink somewhere else. When we got to the restaurant there wasn't really much going on. To be honest, the service was very polite but totally overwhelmed, the wrong thing was brought to the next table twice, my father got his meal and after about 10 minutes I asked where mine was. The service often passed us by and didn't notice that one was sitting in front of a full plate (cold soup, that's why he was waiting for me) and the other had nothing. When I asked, the answer was, “Oh, you haven’t received anything yet”? The food was totally ok. But unfortunately also when paying, again it only worked the third time ordering the invoice. You get the impression that the guests only come here once and you don't need to make that much effort. Very unfortunate

Decided to have lunch here on a Saturday after coming from the big lake tour with the boat. Nice view on the lake and a decent afternoon menu. I had the big beef tartare, for once the toast slices were more than enough so I didn’t have to ask for more. Waiters and service was quick and friendly. Many Austrian desserts on the menu so we tried the Apfelstrudel with Vanille Sauce and it was really great, would go there again just for that.

Steini’s We asked the waitress to clean our table nicely and she got upset and started shouting at us. We complained to the manager and he ignored us. We left and we won’t come back. P.S: if you don’t like what you do, change your job.

You can really feel the hospitality... there is a team that was looking forward to the opening with all their hearts... and we are looking forward to it and enjoying it! To eat... Not just cream or balsamic... the recommended pumpkin seed sauce makes the simple salad something special and cranberries instead of ketchup make the Wienerschnitzel perfect. The recommended, open RxS from the area has something special...rich...unfortunately I can't remember what it was called...but don't forget it too quickly.

Unfortunately that was the worst experience we have ever had in a restaurant. I’m nearly 50 years old and I have never felt that way. The waiter ruined our stay there. We asked to sit upstairs and received a table. No one told aus, that we have to order something to eat there. The boss of the waiters could have give us a friendly hint but he started to scream immediately and smashed the menu on the table. When we asked what is wrong he screamed again, that we have to sit upstairs. Excuse me, but how could we know?! Then he started ignoring us wegen we asked what to do now after he screamed again and asked if we are stupid? It was such an uncomfortable situation declaring me and my friends (a doctor and a lawyer) as stupid. He provoked and offended us so much that we will initiate legal action.

We were there on Saturday and were initially ignored. The owner/waiter also yelled at us as we ran upstairs to wait. How were we supposed to know that? When we were assigned a table, we ordered plenty of food. Placing the order was already an odyssey. At first the order didn't arrive, so we almost starved after waiting an hour. When the order came, it was even wrong. When everything was finally on the table after another 20 minutes, although the first of us had already eaten, I discovered a hair in the salad, so the food was returned. Conclusion: Nothing but anger, huge hunger and rude service because the hair was pointed out. It's better to refrain from expressing opinions and swallow your anger. That was our last visit!!! Friends of ours also reported very rude service.

von den vielen lokalen an der Seepromenade verspricht bereits die Menükarte lokale und Saison Spezialitäten - ein Lichtblick zwischen den auffällig vielen Italiener Restaurants.eine hervorragende Auswahl an Wildgerichten zieren die Saisonkarte, von rehcarpaccio bis hin zum Rehrücken für 49.-/pers ist eine grosse Auswahl ehrlicher Saisongerichte mit dabei.da wir gerade wild gekocht hatten und mit dem Ausflug an den See mit fisch rechneten gab es sehr gut zubereitetet wirklich knusprige zanderknusperli und den Klassiker eglifilets mit Mandeln, schönem Blattspinat und insgesamt alles wie es sein soll.der sehr junge service sympathisch und aufmerksam, da gibts nicht auszusetzen.an weinen im glas ist die ganze karte erhältlich, leider nur 1 weiss & Rotwein vom Zürichsee was sehr schade ist. auch war es mein letzter versuch mit einem Produkt des Hauses kümin - einmal mehr ein Wein dem es an tiefe fehlt, nicht so unnötig musierend wie oft bei kümin doch insgesamt für den preis enttäuschend und leider auch zu warm. so weichen wir fürs 2.glas auf den sortentypischen Sauvignon Blanc aus, leider kein lokales Gewächs. die weine im glas eher hochpreisig bei mittlerer Qualität, das Mineralwasser die Flasche für über 10.- und der Espresso um 4.70 muss in einem Speiselokal nicht sein und klar ein Abzug. wie oft in der Schweiz die Getränkepreise überrissen - lieber bei einem Gericht wie Rehrücken den preis korrigieren, den richtig gemacht dürfen die 49.-- für service am Tisch, tranchieren etc nicht ausreichen.insgesamt gut - eben leider auch schweizerisch teuerps . nicht am Montag nach rapperswil - die gesamte gastro macht frei....

Austrian restaurant right at the harbor in Rapperswil with a large terrace and a great view of the harbor. They serve delicious Austrian cuisine, a great selection of game dishes in autumn and the service is excellent. The prices are absolutely reasonable at 41 CHF for a venison schnitzel with bread dumplings and red cabbage as a large portion of the quality offered. Many dishes cost around 30 CHF. There is also special delicious Austrian wine. All in all highly recommended.

Gerichte schön hergerichtet und fein, aber die Lachsportion ein bisschen kleine. Knusperli waren ein Genuss und die Kalbs-Leberli auf den Punkt gut durch. Leider war die Mitarbeiterin nicht sehr freundlich und die Begeisterung hielt sich bei ihr in Grenzen. Viel Luft nach oben. Location ist fantastisch und direkt am See.

the homepage or the table reservation with the question; The reason for our visit seemed promising and inviting for our occasion, i.e. celebrating my wife's birthday on July 27th, 2020 in the Steinbock Restaurant! I can still understand why the table reservation at the front of the railing didn't work! Then the misery began with the reception! the allocation of seats was poor! As usual, we also ordered an aperitif before dinner. At the tables around there was olive bread with olive oil and butter for the aperitif drink. When we asked after an hour if we could get something like that, three slices of olive bread were put on the table for us!!! The food was OK so far but the “male service” was unprofessional and a disaster! without request from us, no refill was given! I didn't feel like a guest at all, I was tolerated and excluded to the maximum! Under no circumstances would I recommend the Steinbock in Rapperswiel, let alone visit the rest a second time! Nevertheless, I wish the “restaurant” much success for the future, especially these days!

Die Essensqualität hat leider sehr nachgelassen. Durchschnitt. Der Herr der uns bediente war leider sehr arrogant und wir fühlten uns überhaupt nicht willkommen. Wir kommen nicht mehr.

Wir waren zu zweit und haben das Mittagsmenü gegessen. Es gab Saibling und Spargelrisotte sowie einen Salat als Vorspreise. Das Essen war sehr gut, der Service sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und würden jederzeit wieder dort zu Mittag essen.
