Sutter Begg in Dornach

Well run, friendly staff and good opening times.

4.30Fr. for an expresso and then get it yourself at the counter after queuing for 10 minutes. Staff totally overwhelmed.

On January 12th, 2023 my father and I went to visit the Sutter Begg in Dornach We treated ourselves to a Z'fivei instead of a Z'vieri 😉 As on other days when I visited this place, I found the service to be extremely user-friendly and organized 😊👍🏻 I always like the coffee ☕️ And the pastry warren 🥮 as well During our visit we ate vermicelle, which I really enjoyed; I hadn't eaten it for a long time. Above all, the place is very centrally located at the train station, from this Sutter Begg you have a direct connection to the buses 🚌, the 10 tram 🚋, or the S3 train 🚉 I can with a clear conscience recommend that everyone treat themselves Tip: For all chai latte lovers, in general I like this one best if you like to drink it mildly sweet 😊🫶🏻

After I ordered my coffee and something sweet at the counter, I was informed that I had to carry my order to the table myself. That's been the case since Corona. Someone must have “optimized” the process and rationed away the hospitality and service concept. I don't feel welcome here

Only 2 tables and no toilet 😕. Coffee ☕ was good and there was still enough choice

In the coffee: tables not cleaned, normal prices but self-service, coffee is simply left at the buffet, guests can then notice this themselves and get it. Cappuccino in the paper cup was watery and tasted like powdered milk. Bread may be ok...

This morning I had breakfast with my family at the branch in Dornach. We were served by a very nice and extremely attentive gentleman. The breakfast was also top notch. We recommend.

They don't accept dogs. If you travel with one you have a couple of very close options with a lot more space outside for a coffee: Restaurant Pergola, and Cafe Konditorei Dornach

Small café, right at the train station, with various baked goods. You can also have breakfast or just drink a coffee. It is self-service and the offering is limited, but the most important things are there. The products are OK so far and correspond to the standard that you can get from other retailers.

The team in Dornach and Arlesheim were friendly, the order arrived half an hour late and in the wrong branch for 15 small rolls and 40 francs dissatisfied. Administratively a disaster

The good bakery became an uncomfortable and cold self-service cafe. not reduced. (very unfortunate). When you leave the restaurant, no goodbye. 😟😟 Corona time is over!!!!

Hello dear Sutter team, I visited you today (09.02.23) after 3 o'clock. The staff was visibly irritated and let it be felt, especially in their tone. Since I've been observing this for a while, I suspect internal tensions that are spreading to the outside world. I also know the staff are in a good mood, it would be nice if that was the norm again :)

No small dog is allowed in, but the toilet is allowed to be really dirty. Thank God there is still the good Confiserie Bachmann, where the chocolate cake and coffee taste better anyway

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this bakery. The reception was very unfriendly, even the few guests present did not understand the behavior of the employees.

For a cappucino of 5.20 CHF, not even a smile... The last time I was there was in Dornach/Arlesheim

Wonderful food, everything tastes really delicious. Much nicer employees than at other bakeries. I can only recommend it for gourmets.

The very, very, very best Amarettis are available to buy at Sutter Begg in all branches. If you've never tried them, you've missed something in your life. There's still time to go and enjoy either Wednesday or Saturday. I have never enjoyed such delicacies even in Ticino!

My contact point from “Sutter Begg” is in Dornach. Always friendly and nice staff, even if everyone has to work “masked” at the moment. Fine baked goods and all sorts of sweet delicacies to take away every day and also to enjoy in the café. During our last visit to the café, we enjoyed a piece of wonderful cheesecake, nut salad with egg and nuts and a “Sutter organic spritzer”! I was pleasantly surprised by the large portion of nut salad, which was served with a very good salad dressing and crusty bread! Thank you and always happy!

I think the friendliness leaves something to be desired and if you have lactose it's a shame that the milk is more expensive.

The service is good and so are the drinks, but the constantly open sliding door creates a cool and therefore uncomfortable atmosphere to linger for a longer period of time.

The service today = bottom drawer, but it matches the nationality, it's a shame because the quality of the bakery is simply top, price performance is 100%, but the service is the be-all and end-all in sales.

Sutter Begg is actually a great bakery that I have enjoyed visiting for years. However, I no longer agree with everything 100%. - The prices are now excessively high and are no longer justified for everything - Handcraft and premium quality are advertised, but you can't feel this in all products. The best example is the ham Silserli. I buy these regularly for my husband and father. However, lately they keep telling me that I shouldn't bring them with me anymore because they're just not fresh and definitely from the day before. - In the café the waiting time can sometimes be extremely long before you can order something Although there are usually only a few other guests when I visit. (Because I'm only willing to sit down and drink Erwas "briefly" if it's not very busy.) - I think the many branches don't make sense and are optimally distributed everywhere. There are regions in Basel where there is an abundance of Sutter Begg, but certain communities have so far been ignored at all - The opening hours on Sunday morning at 8 a.m. are not optimal, that's too late!

Great quality (bread, coffee, pastries) and friendly service. The prices have now reached the top, simply too expensive for many, unfortunately 😴.

Sutter Begg has very good breads. There is something for everyone. Patisserie, sandwiches, salads, croissants, rolls, etc. If you have time to linger, you can do so with breakfast or just coffee and croissants. All Sutter Begg branches in the region are recommended.

It has good pastries and sandwiches, but I find prices overpriced. I just wanted to wait a moment in the warm and drink some water. The water cost 5.40 francs!

Quite ok. 3 stars because of the price for a 5 dl Pet Cola. Too expensive.

Very unfriendly conditions correct customers cheekily and arrogantly when they place wrong orders, I expect to promote replacement and no discussions, my last visit and absolutely not worth recommending

Friendly modern bakery with fine things

It's raining and they don't even have a plastic bag for bread, only paper bags so everything gets wet...

..good selection from snacks to snacks ..sometimes long waiting times, especially outside at Käffele!

Some friendly staff, some “rough” as it is everywhere. Drink prices are rather high, but the quality is good (at least in this branch). Price/performance for bread OK.

Bakery with fine breads and patisseries. It's cozy in the accompanying coffee. Whether it's a little refreshment or a coffee chat with friends, you feel comfortable here. Prices are a bit high for one's opinion.

A conveniently located cafe serving great coffee and cakes adjacent to the bus, train and tram stations.

I give 4 stars because the bread, sandwiches and tarts are very good and of good quality. The opening times are very acceptable for customers and are worth visiting. I'm deducting a star because I find the staff often stressful and sometimes come across as unfriendly. Even if there isn't much going on. On the whole, everyone is polite and does their work conscientiously.

Delicious sandwiches and pastries. Sufficient parking space (right next to the train station).

Good bakery with friendly service

Begg has very good quality But unfortunately the staff sleeps a bit... only a few are friendly. The branch is somewhat reminiscent of a sleep clinic or a retirement home. More pizzazz would be great :-)
