Beautiful view, delicious fish dishes and the best beef Cordon bleu in Switzerland

A fantastic place. It's an insider tip... I shouldn't actually give a review. And for the ambience on the garden terrace with a view of the lake and towards Lucerne, 5 stars are far too little anyway. Just like for the fish crispy and the tartare! Breathtaking!

Very unprofessional. Small map. At 35 degrees an Indian curry soup and a consommé with egg. A very small mixed salad for Fr. 14.-. Service gets 2 stars because of the nice waiter.

A 40 minute ferry ride from Lucerne and a brief walk from the dock. Lovely view. Only had drinks so can’t comment on the food. Reasonably priced. Service was friendly.

We have been at sea for over twenty years. We reserved a table which we unfortunately had to cancel (the day before). They were then verbally attacked. Waiter said, “Kick my ass…” and hung up the phone. So in short, the behavior is anything but customer-friendly. The end is in sight… Please forward to the Lake Lucerne region. Tragic!

Very fine food and good, quick service. Very nice location with a view of the lake and mountains. Kehrsiten, at the foot of the Bürgenstock. From there you can take a funicular to the Bürgenstock. Kehrsiten can be reached by boat from Lucerne.

We walked from Stansstad to Kehrsitten and actually wanted to have lunch here. Closed on Sunday. It's a shame I'll never visit this restaurant again 🙄

We actually wanted to have dinner on the Bürgenstock. But we didn't want to have anything to do with their unfriendly behavior. Unfriendly and even rude foreign staff who don't speak any of our national languages ​​properly and can only express themselves to a limited extent in English. That's why we googled for a restaurant in the area and came across the Tell am See restaurant where we were able to enjoy excellent Egli with very good wine. Before the Egli we had an Indian curry soup. Probably the best curry soup I've had outside of India! And for dessert we were able to enjoy homemade plum cake with cream. The service was also very good. Friendly and always there when needed. And all of this at a very good price-performance ratio. We will definitely come back!

I have never been treated so unkindly in my life. We were yelled at stupidly when we looked for a free table (everyone downstairs was reserved) instead of showing us where the free tables were. I poured out some water and simply wiped it away with my hand. I can't say anything about the quality of the food, but due to the extremely unfriendly host, I wouldn't even recommend this place! A pity!

Beautiful view and fine ice cream. However, we had to pay in CASH (minimum amount for credit card payment not reached), which is rather questionable in times of Covid-19 and we were not made aware of this anywhere - neither verbally nor in writing. Luckily we were somehow able to scrape together the change with the remaining cash in our wallet.

Wir waren da in 2019, am Muttertag, nach einer Wanderung auf dem Felsenweg. Wir wussten nicht dass die Strasse nach Kehrsitten offiziell nur für die Anwohner offen sei. Wir haben uns auch dort in Restaurant nicht vorangemeldet. Trotz dem haben wir dort angerufen, als wir vor dem Fahrverbot standen. Wir wurden von dem Besitzer freundlich darauf hingewiesen dass wir uns bei der Polizei melden sollten und um Durchfahrterlaubnis fragen bitten. Wieder freundliche Person in der Polizeistation, Erlaubnis wurde uns erteilt. Im Restaurant wurden wir freundlich begrüsst und vorbildlich total nett empfangen. Eine Woche vor ihren offiziellen Eröffnung wurden wir perfekt auf ihrer Terrasse mit feinem Essen verwöhnt. Sehr empfehlenswert. Top die Klasse. Sehr dankbar dafür. Wir kommen wieder, mindestens versuchen wir, auch dieses Jahr am Muttertag. Diesmal laufen wir hin und zurück. . .

Magical location and absolutely the best Egli. We always like to come.

On November 28th, 2020 we visited the Wirtshaus zur Treib again. We were served by the innkeeper and were able to express our wishes. The food was great. The wine that the innkeeper recommended to us was one of the best we have ever had in a restaurant. We will be back.

The staff are nice and try their best, the view is nice. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is not that good. The boss/owner is very unfriendly. A pity.

Vielleicht verstanden es die zahlreichen Nörgler einfach den richtigen Ton zu finden. Wir wurden diesen Sommer schon zweimal sehr liebenswürdig empfangen. Insbesondere der Schwiegersohn st ausserordentlich freundlich und zuvorkommen. Die Küche verdient höchste Anerkennung für die vorzüglichen Eglifilets aus dem See, mit einem ganz dünnen Überzug statt der üblichen Bierteigpampe. Dazu wurde uns ein vorzüglicher weisser Merlot aus dem Tessin empfohlen, ein Hochgenuss! Der gewünschte Tisch im Garten war reserviert. Es waren beide Male Stunden des Genusses pur. Ein Rat an die Nörgler: wie wäre es gleich beim ersten Moment der Begegnung mit einem Lächeln aufzuwarten? Dann gewinnt man die andere Seite am allerbesten. Versuchen! Man vergibt sich rein gar nichts!

Rarely have I experienced such a poor price-performance ratio. 1 zander fillet with a small pile of rice for 41.- Sfr. doesn't make up for the really beautiful view. The staff isn't really motivated either. Once and never again. Fish crispy plain without a side dish for 26.50 is underground

Sehr unfreundlich, ist noch milde ausgedrückt! Wollte einen Tisch reservieren, der Chef persönlich meinte sehr generft, dieses Jahr nicht mehr und den Rest vom Komentar erwähne ich jetzt nicht. Es war früher mal sehr gut, aber jetzt versuche ich es schon gar nicht mehr!

Nach unserer Wanderung vom Bürgenstock wollten wir eine kurze Pause im Restaurant Tell am See machen. Obwohl wir schon um 16.00 Uhr eintrafen, bekamen wir keinen Tisch mehr, obwohl die Gäste erst auf 18.00 Uhr reserviert hatten. Unverständlich!

Mehrmals pro Sommer gehen wir ins Restaurant Tell im idyllische Kehrsiten Ehrliche und gute Küche, sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service und eine Aussicht über den See vom feinsten. Sehr empfehlenswert! Wir kommen sehr gerne und bald wieder!

Wir waren zum ersten und letzten Mal hier. Der Chef ist leider sehr unhöflich zu den Gästen, er findet es nicht mal nötig die Gäste zu grüssen auch wenn diese direkt an ihm vorbei laufen. Schade. Schöne Lage, Essen war auch gut und Personal freundlich. Wir wollten dem Restaurant zwei Tage später noch eine Chance geben und telefonisch für den nächsten Tag um 14 Uhr! einen Tisch reservieren. Der Chef am Telefon meinte nur wir haben keinen Platz. Dann hat er es wohl nicht nötig!

Personal war freundlich, Essen ist okay trotzdem fühlten wir uns nicht willkommen. Wir hatten es zweimal mit einem Grüezi versucht beim Patron kein Blick würdig stattdessen schaute er auf die Uhr (14:30)seltsames Gefühl. Wir haben ein anderes Rest. Gefunden da passt alles für uns.

"You can sit down there and if you don't like it, you can leave straight away!" We waited until a table was assigned to us, as usual in Corona times. There comes an older white-haired gentleman. When I asked for a table with a view, he became more and more upset and told me in the middle of the terrace in front of the other guests; "You can sit down there and if you don't like it, you can leave straight away!" Out of decency, I didn't answer. We had a drink, but the hunger was gone and I would like to share this experience with everyone who is thinking of spending money in this shop.

Although 1 table had been reserved since 12 p.m. and was unoccupied at 4 p.m., we didn't get the table. Another table was occupied from 6 p.m. We didn't get this table either so that we could at least get something to drink in the 35 degree heat. We were sent away in an unfriendly and condescending manner. Restaurant Tell am See, near Bürgendstock: never again!!! What hospitality! Be ashamed of treating other people like that!

Ein Tisch war reserviert für 12 Uhr und um 16 Uhr unbesetzt. Diesem Tisch wollte man uns nicht geben. Ein anderer Tisch war um 16 Uhr, als wir da waren, für 18 Uhr reserviert. Auch diesen Tisch wollte man uns nicht geben... Arrogant und herablassend wurden wir abgewiesen. Ist das Gastfreundschaft, die unserem Nationslhelden, Wilhelm tell, würdig ist...?!! Nie wieder, nicht mal fragen!!

Das geht gar nicht. Obwohl das Restaurant noch nicht voll war, waren sie nicht bereit uns einen Tisch zu geben. Unfreundlich und herablassend schickte uns der Chef weg, obwohl wir richtig hunger und durst hatten. Nie wieder!!!!!

Wir hatten alle Aufmerksamkeit bei uns. Wegen schlechter Wetterprogrnosen, die nicht eingetroffen sind, hatte es nicht sehr viele Gäste. An schönster Aussichtslage auf den See wurde uns ein Tisch auf der prächtigen Terrasse parat gemacht. Bei einer Gruppe von zehn Personen bestellte natürlich jeder etwas anderes. Der sehr freundliche Patron brachte das natürlich nicht aus der Ruhe. Er zauberte für jeden einzelnen ein wunderbares Essen auf den Teller. Vor allem die Fische sind ein Traum. Man muss weit gehen, um solch authentische Fischküche mit Fischen aus dem Vierwaldstättersee zu bekommen. Es war alles wunderbar. Gerne wieder!

We were looking forward to a fine meal and were so disappointed, unfortunately! My Gordon Bleu could have been put on water wings because it was floating in the fat and the cheese in it was a tough lump. The veal paillard was already drowned in fat. The service staff was friendly, but we have never experienced such an unfriendly, grumpy boss. We always try to take the region into account on our trips, but we didn't feel welcome. We were also asked to pay in cash, but payment by credit card was refused, so we always have enough cash with us.

23.Juni 2020: Reservation und Empfang durch Besitzer und Personal war TOP ! Tischwahl bei Ankunft nach unseren Wünschen ! Service, trotz gut besetzter Terrasse, sehr freundlich und speditiv ! Unsere drei bestellten Essen (Felchenfilet) waren wiederum ein Hit ! Einmal mehr haben wir den Aufenthalt im Tell voll genossen ! Wir kommen gerne wieder !

Great place with a view of the lake! Varied and tasty cida. The attendants are very attentive. If you are in Nidewald, I recommend the place.

When I asked by telephone about service times and the possibility of reserving a table, I received an irritated answer: There has been hot food served continuously for 40 years. You're tired of people calling and asking about this. You don't make table reservations, you should just show up... This form of unfriendliness cannot be beaten! We definitely won't be going to this restaurant. Apparently in this location there is no need to show even a shred of decency and friendliness towards potential paying customers.

When I asked for a table for 4 people, I was asked the counter question: “Have you ever been to our restaurant?” Unfortunately, my answer was no, to which I was given the information: "We don't accept any new ones!" - no further comment from me.

Visited the restaurant after a day trip on our honeymoon. This place is a family operated piece of history and it was a pleasure meeting them and dining here. We had the fried fish it was a very generous serving, a cold beer and a sunset it was overall a great experience!

Oh well. Slow, inattentive service, the fish crispy is a lot of crunchy and little fish and the salad isn't the freshest... But the big plus is the location and also the boat parking if you come by water.

I was today 4 July 2019 in this restaurant. A beautiful place by the lake where there is tranquility and you have a beautiful view of Lake Four Cantons. It is a 5-minute walk from the funicular that takes you to Burgenstock. The food is simple but not expensive compared to the restaurants in Buergenstock. I also recommend it because it is a small town

We have never been received so unfriendly, almost aggressively, in a restaurant. We assume it was the chef de service who told us in a very spiteful tone that we hadn't asked if this table was still free, but we were. Now the menu for the meal from the friendly waitress was already on the table, but after more spite, this one Man, we immediately got up and left. Well, it's just a shame about this beautiful place, and don't keep it up, we'll always walk past it in the future

Food and ambiente is top, service is flop: from the restaurant you have a magnificent view over lake Lucerne but the service was so bad that it was already funny: after the salad was served with the wrong dressing we complained and they suggested to put the right salad dressing on top of it. We told the servant that this is a rather bad idea but she nevertheless brought a cup of salad dressing to the table asking us to poor it over the salad.
