The Artisan in Zürich

My new favorite in Zurich, main reason: The team has understood how to make you feel perceived and comfortable as a guest. A noticeably serious philosophy à la “We share moments together” is far to be found these days. And the bacon strips are unique! 😄

Nice restaurant, busy on weekends, with delicious local/regional dishes and excellent coffee. The service is attentive and friendly. A nice place to stay and enjoy!

Second visit. Great quality of food. Environmentally conscious. Would love to go back.

Wonderful food, great aperitif and lovely wine. Unfortunately a bit loud. In the summer, outside, the Artisan becomes an oasis. Come back!

Delicious food and great and nice employees. Unfortunately there was no more Chriesi Royal, that was a shame, but that happens. Just a note, the chicken burger came with a red sauce, which should also be on the menu stand so that you could reorder it.

Great brunch spot! Love that they have a food waste reduction action. Really feel the appreciation the restaurant holds to food and the environment. All this while serving delicious food!

Food is good but their service is lacking. Both times we went for brunch we had to wait up to 1 hr until the food was finally ready. Getting the attention of the waiters was hard and they kept forgetting to bring us water even after reminding them several times.

Overall, “The Artisan” didn’t convince me. We had dinner there with a group in the evening. To start with I have to say that the food was of a very high quality and actually deserves praise. The meat was fresh, well seasoned and very tasty. Side dishes were also convincing. However, the service was a disaster. He was very inattentive and we sat at the table with empty plates for probably 15-20 minutes after the food was eaten. In addition, we actually ordered water. This never arrived but was of course noted on the bill... While the inattention trumped the experience in the restaurant, I have to say that the staff were extremely friendly throughout and of course apologized for the service and the error on the bill have. That's why you can assume that it wasn't intentional but that the evening suffered a bit because of it. The ambience is ok, cozy but you sometimes feel a bit excluded by the high partition walls. Especially if you sit at the front of the restaurant. I think there is definitely potential for improvement. As I said, the food is highly recommended!

Grear choice for a lazy Sunday's brunch

Water is 5 CHF per person. Portions are rather small and nothing extraordinary. Prices are high relatively seen. I would give $$$ and not $$ as google maps currently does. The vibe / atmosphere is pleasant. I would not go again but it is okay for a one time experience.

Disappointing brunch. Very limited menu, and overly expensive for what it is. We had to send back the CHF 18 mezcal Mary because it was completely tasteless, on the menu they made it sounds very special. We also had to send back the two mimosa’s because they were completely flat and completely filled with ice. And finally as I am pregnant I needed to order off menu, I asked for the brioche toast with ham and two eggs, they change me CHF 25 for this. However, the Brioche Trüffel French Toast was tasty and good (but over priced) and the service was good, very friendly and took our complaints very well and improved what got sent back. Unfortunately would not go back.

The exciting selection of new creations. Up to the courteous staff! Water costs 1 per person and is endless. Such a great idea! So customer friendly🥰 and really kind, the flowers at the end as a gift! WOW...I'm totally in love!

Really cool place for both dinner and especially Sunday brunch. Excellent, locally sourced and finely butchered meat (bacon and sausages), super friendly staff (albeit with slowish service when full), who are more than happy to show you their compositing or local garden. Just overall friendly and solid, including their natural wine menu.

Wonderful restaurant with an unusual but extremely tasty brunch menu. I like how everything is local and seasonal! I was surprised at the prices, though, even for Zurich they are quite steep!

On Sunday for brunch, today for dinner. The service is likeable young people, committed and friendly. The ambience is very nice, only on Sunday it was a little noisy due to the number of guests in the shop. Tonight the opposite, with only three tables occupied, empty and quiet. Brunch: very tasty! Good quality! Good ingredients! Personally, I associate the word brunch with a little more. For example, large plates with “breakfast and lunch”. The Garden Breakfast includes a small yogurt with granola, but that's it. There's nothing wrong with smoked salmon. Great dish, but not "brunch" for me. Or it is assumed that you share everything and order several things per person. Dinner: Vegi Gnoccis very tasty! Burger was also good and harmonious, the meat was medium, but the patty seemed so pressed that it was too firm and not loose enough for me personally. At the end of the song: The kitchen team can do something, great ideas and good taste. Overall, however, too expensive in comparison. In my opinion, not just a few cents but a good 1/3 too much compared to other restaurants.

Kind. Urban. Super friendly staff. A bit noisy, tight seating. Prices are rather high, but you can eat really well there.

Vegan and gluten free, celiac friendly. We loved everything. Staff was lovely, it’s beautiful and the food was delicious.

To toast my birthday, my friend invited me to dinner at The Artisan. I had never eaten there before and was really looking forward to a cozy evening for two. First of all – the food was really delicious. From the vegetable chips to the fries to the burger, everything was super delicious! Compliment! Unfortunately I can't compliment the service staff. It seemed as if three people had never worked in the catering industry before. Within 10 minutes, 4 people asked us what we wanted to order, even though we had already placed the order. My drink came quickly, my partner's only after 15 minutes. This was then poured over my jacket and skirt when it was served. It can happen, but there are no points deducted for this. What bothered us was the absolutely inexperienced and uncoordinated care of the tables. We were constantly interrupted in our conversations and at these prices we would have expected a better quality of service.

We were there for a brunch on a Sunday. Everything was Ok service and atmosphere! The food was just OK. Nothing spectacular and sizes quite small. Also prices quite expensive for what they offer! They have a nice garden to sit outside and chill too.

Reservation is recommended, especially for weekend brunch. We ordered the artisan burger and the artisan breakfast. Good size! The candied bacon was interesting too...try that for entree :)

We ate here at the weekend, had a great time with our friends and will definitely be back soon. The food is great and so is the service! In addition, the atmosphere is beautifully open and modern.

Came here for Wild Menu dinner, the food was ok-ish, starters were tasty and beautifully presented (deer carpaccio), the main course however (deer and spätzle and cabbage) lacked the oomph and for the 40 something Franks - definitely disappointing! The outside area was not heated and my tea order was forgotten, however I did get it as a freebie while waiting to pay. The total bill of chf174 is definitely screaming NIO to any possibility of returning here.

We went to the restaurant for the first time in 2016 and never went back because it was very disappointing. Now we as Wipking residents wanted to give the neighborhood restaurant a second chance and were not disappointed. The food is prepared with a lot of love for the product, the service is incredible, the wine recommendations are always top and best of all, you feel welcome and almost at home. A place to linger.

Booked a table for 5 to get one small for 4… after 25 minutes moved to a new table which was dirty (we had to ask to get it wiped down). Waited 1h:20 for food to receive it cold. Food was decent but nothing great. Extremely slow and disorganised service.

One of the best places to have brunch in Zürich!

Brunch is very tasty but expensive for what it is. Don't come too hungry, as the food tends to wait until you're asleep. The atmosphere would be more pleasant if it were less crowded, but the restaurant is nicely decorated. Therefore, be sure to reserve. It's an experience, but I won't come again.

I recently had brunch with friends at The Artisan restaurant in Zurich. I opted for the chicken burger, which was quite lovely. The atmosphere is pleasant, although it can get busy. As expected in Switzerland, the prices are on the higher side.

The food is delicious. The service staff is very friendly and competent. On weekends the restaurant is very busy and you have to expect longer waiting times. In stubborn situations, the staff is ready to bring a small meal and donate...

Cool location, attentive service and interesting menus - the beer selection also always has something new.

Nice atmosphere in the garden and helpful staff. But ultimately, while the food is well presented, it is expensive, small portioned and made without the great love that makes things tasty.

Mega fine food and super delicious drinks. Service was super nice and accommodating. It was full and we had to wait a bit for everything but it was more than worth it. Would love to come back.

All in all very good. The four of us had brunch and had a very nice time. The food (I had the salmon) was delicious, the mimosa was excellent and the service was very nice. It all took a bit of time, but it was worth it because of the quality of the food. However, smokers must go into the garden as smoking at the table is not possible. But I don't think it's a problem at all as it could bother others. But you should be aware that you won't spend a lot of money if you want to have a really good time.

Been here for the second time and wasn't disappointed. Quality and service are still as high as back then, absolutely a great place to end the evening with friends.

Price performance not justified. District 1 prices for Wipkingen. It's not worth coming here. Burgers average 45 CHF, without side dish.

Amazing food and very friendly staff!

Delicious, beautiful, friendly but pricey. The cocktails were rather watery than tasty, but it still didn't destroy the overall impression. Maybe its something the management should look into.

I celebrated a family event at the Artisan, with a group of 20 adults and 5 kids. The food was delicious, not pretentious and was appreciated by everyone. The service was also very good. Sarah was super nice from the first interaction via email till we left the place. We had a very good experience!

The food was super tasty. The staff very attentive and friendly. The portions are large. And the restaurant is very nice with a large, comfortable terrace in the countryside. Can highly recommend the restaurant!

FINALLY some good freakin’ food! The burger was absolutely perfect, I would marry it if I could. The gnocchi with peas and truffle were impressive as well. Service - really good. Much recommended! The Artisan really does stand out on the Zurich food scene.

Fantastic food, coffee and service. The Truffle Brioche blew my mind

I've been here several times. The food, although a little more expensive, is very unusual and tasty. I particularly like the fact that it is very regional and nature-inspired. Artisan also implements the natural aspect in the interior, which is complemented by many plants, and the summer terrace is adjacent to a community garden. The service is friendly and takes time for photos, advice or small conversations. On weekends the food generally came later, sometimes you had to ask the service again, especially in the evenings or during the week everything goes much faster. Definite recommendation!

We were recently dining at this delightful restaurant, and I must say, it quickly became one of my favorites. The combination of good food and a friendly atmosphere makes it the right place to enjoy a meal. One thing that I particularly appreciated about this restaurant was their focus on incorporating veggies and greens into their dishes. The other thing is its attentive and welcoming staff.

Go here for a nice hangout in the gardenspace! The food is solid, coffee as well. Depending on how busy it is, get prepared to wait up to 45minutes for your food (clearly understaffed)!

Cheap interior, three service errors in a row during one visit. at the same time more expensive than better locations

Very Brooklyn, New York vibe with fresh and delicious, rustic food. The menu indicates whether the dish is gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian. The service was excellent! My only complaint from my last visit was the coffee. Now they also have a lovely, local coffee from Zurich, which I highly recommend. We are looking forward to coming back!

The Artisan is a lovely, modern and bright venue. The dishes are down-to-earth and unusual at the same time - with a sense of organic and sustainable enjoyment. The starters and main courses were very tasty - but the fries could have been crispier (they were soft) and in the dumplings you didn't notice any of the wild garlic that supposedly should have been in the pesto. Still tasty. The chocolate macaron, on the other hand, was too fattening, we shared one between the two of us and fought and the ganache in it was nothing special. A smaller one would have been enough. The chocolate sorbet, on the other hand, was great. The restaurant is a little more expensive but still OK in terms of price-performance ratio. The service was super nice and prompt, and the food came quickly. All in all: we'll be back.

First of all, something positive...the place is really nice and the food is okay. But unfortunately you have to have a lot of time and ideally not hunger. We made a reservation for 3 people at 11 a.m. (on Saturday). Arriving on time, we had to wait at the entrance until we were brought to the table. At first we were ignored until someone finally came. We were then escorted to the table where it was only set for two. We didn't get the card with the food offers either, so we got it ourselves after waiting 15 minutes. After 20 minutes of not paying attention (not even drinks) we made ourselves noticed. The waiter was very unfriendly I have to say. After more than 50 minutes we finally received our food. Which was ok. The bacon was more fat than meat and super rubbery. We also ordered coffee and the relationship wasn't right at all. Coffee cream for 6.- was quite ok in size but the cappuccino was much too small (smaller cup than the coffee cream) for the proud price of 6.50. And we don't even have to start with the price of water (5.- per person). Unfortunately, we were never asked about drinks replenishment or how satisfied we were with the food. No apology or compensation for the long wait and poor service. Unfortunately not recommended.

Awesome spot, would highly recommend. Just do yourself a favor if you do venture in and don't even think about ordering a bloody mary or any other off menu drink, they DO NOT know what they're doing behind the bar.

Way too expensive. The food has too much sause. I ordered baby carrots and they looked like sausages. Burgers are way too fat. Lots of bacon and the brurger meat is deep fried. Not to mention that I paid 60chf for a brunch. And I drank water.

Such an incredible experience!! I believe that there is not a Sunday that The Artisan is empty and there is certainly a reason. A magnificent cuisine. Kudos to the chef for the brunch choices. I choose the french toast and the best choice I made, it was an explosion of flavour. Without a shadow of a doubt I will come back and I recommend it 10000%

Food : amazing in quality and tasty. No doubt. Service : super kind, incredibly sweet but serving time is quite slow. Food took around/over 25mn to start arriving. Atmosphere: very cozy and homey in décoration . But slightly crowed (indoor only) and Noisy (indoor only)
