The Green Harp in Meiringen

Watching my favorite hockey team (Canucks) on TV while on vacation in Meiringen, Switzerland. Unexpected pleasure indeed to chat with the bar keep, Michelle, who was so gracious and helpful. Such a great atmosphere, especially if you are Irish!! (Which I am not, but still a pleasure!

Friendly service, great beer selection, and delicious fish and chips

Very bad service! You have to wait more than 40 minutes for a portion of fries. When we asked employees about it, they said it would take 2 minutes. After another 10 minutes it said we hadn't ordered anything. When we showed a receipt they said they would prepare the order straight away. Naughty employees and undrinkable drinks. Not recommended!!!

Great food. Got the burger, fish and chips and chicken nuggets. Everything was fantastic, wish we came earlier in our vacation.

Really great!!! They even have bitterballen, one of the few places in Switzerland 🇨🇭 👌!!!!

Sensational! Highly recommended pub. The best burger ever. Everything is right there. From the ingredients to the perfect cooking point of the meat and the delicious taste. Service top. Super nice pub. Baby Guinness is missing from the menu. We will be back!

At first we were told something that the Green Harp is in the basement of a hotel. The somewhat winding walk through the catacombs is definitely worth it. A very large selection of Irish and some Swiss beers was waiting for us. Plus delicious fish 'n chips. The music was a bit loud, but the waiter corrected that immediately.

Beautiful bar, great food and mostly quiet

The burger was very tasty, the atmosphere is very nice and the service was very friendly. You should be able to speak English. Happy to come back 😊

Wow.. the best.. Sherlock Holmes printed on Guinness. A taste I know, but a taste of excitement. There is also a meaning to Meiringen, so be sure to stop by.

We really wanted to love this bar. We had a great first burger and drinks (made by the bartender with dreadlocks, very friendly) so we ordered another round of drinks and a burger. The second burger was made by the other short hair bartender and was nearly raw (we've had a bad experience eating raw meat traveling and don't risk it). Guy with dreds handled this professionally and offered us a refund (which we then spent on more drinks). We thought the matter had been settled but then the short hair bar tender came out and slammed down a burger that he had charred black on the grill and told us to eat it. He seemed like he wanted to physically fight us, he got weirdly intense and aggressive. We would have spent the rest of the evening here ordering more drinks, but we decided to take our money elsewhere and didn't return for the duration of the trip. Find a different place to eat.

Nice atmosphere, wide selection of beers and spirits. Few dishes but still well made and tasty.

Really great pub. Great live music from Clann Eireann and two really great guys behind the bar. We had a lot of fun that evening and will definitely go to the Green Harp again on our next stay in Meiringen and are already looking forward to it Greetings Torsten and Bea

Great little gem of a bar under the main hotel in town. Irish themed. Guiness and local beers on tap and pretty decent bottle list too. If you want snacks they have fries and wings, but also more substantial meals like fish and chips, chili con carne, and burgers.

An Irish pub like in the movies. Good beer - an owner with heart and blood. Great experience. That wasn't the last time!

Very cool pub in Meringen. The decor is modern and bright but still typical pub. Were there to watch a football game, the beer selection is large and very good.

Very cool pub. I can only recommend. We had checked into the hotel and wanted to have a drink in the hotel pub. The host(s) are great and take great care of their guests. I could go to the pub like this every day. One drink then turned into several ;-)

Delicious beer and wonderfully tasty food! The new Sauvage Pub opened its doors last weekend and as locals who love a good beer and pub food we just had to go try it out. The service was great, the food delicious, and the atmosphere on point. We will definitely be going back :) Thank you!
