Rössli in Meiringen

We were there in the off-season and the restaurant was only half full, which probably gave us a lot of extra attention. The staff was very friendly and professional and our three year old was also entertained. The food was delicious, as was the wine and Aperol. We'd love to come back.

The food was simply delicious. I haven't eaten so well in a restaurant for a long time. My husband was also blown away. The prices are a bit high (by German standards), but so is the quality. The service is simply great. We also got tips on what to do nearby. The wine also tastes great. We will definitely eat here again.

After almost two hours of waiting - without informing the service staff! - I was no longer hungry for a normal menu and my nerves were on edge. And then instead of spaetzle, croquettes were served without prior advice, which is not possible!

So we arrived at the restaurant around 6pm for an early dinner. Service: We had the pleasure of being waited on by Adrian, who was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food: We tried the beef fillet and the stroganoff, they were perfectly prepared. The food arrived hot, well presented and plated, and without delay. Environment: the restaurant was clean and well arranged, with decent spaces between tables. overall: An amazing experiance and i would definetly come back again to try the rest of the menu. *Edit: we visited again only 2 days after, our waiter from the last time remembered us and we had a nice chat, though we were waited on by a diffrent waiter who was also very friendly. We tried the T-Bone steak this time and it was perfectly prepared.

Fine food with imaginative and colorful ingredients in the salad. Friendly staff even in times of stress. There is a playground for children, so parents can have some peace and quiet 😊

Warm summer evening on the terrace. We discovered the horse by chance while walking past. The two tartars were fantastic, the fresh rösti that was ordered separately was simply a blast. Came by again the evening after next. Roast beef & cordon bleu fantastic again! The service is very (!) warm and also dog-friendly ❤️ In our opinion, the Rössli in Meiringen is definitely worth a visit and highly recommended. Thank you very much for the two great evenings.

We really enjoyed the food. The service advised us on the choice of meat and explained the different types of meat to us. The wine was really good. Only the welcome bread could have used some butter or, even better, some lard. But because the rest was really good, you can ignore it.

A very good time spent on the terrace of this restaurant. Very well eaten and well served. I promise we'll come back.

With great anticipation we wanted to once again enjoy a wonderful piece of dry-aged meat from Klaus. A piece of meat that is presented and explained, cooked with respect and to perfection and served at the table. When we arrived and asked for Klaus, we were told that he was no longer there and that they now had a head chef. It's a shame, but we reserved the table and found that the dry-aged is still on offer. We had to ask in advance to inspect the meat. That's what was done, presented in a plastic vacuum bag. So we ordered a tomato soup and a tartare (mild) as a starter and a dry-aged T-bone steak (700gr) as our main course. As a note, we had to explicitly specify the degree of doneness ourselves, otherwise the meat would have been cooked medium rare. But more on that later. The Totmate soup was excellent, hence a star. The tartare was very bland in taste (the meat flavor didn't come through either). However, the amount of tartare and the price charged cannot be justified in any way; it is completely overpriced. Then came the T-bone steak. Unfortunately, the meat had already been cut in the kitchen and served on a hot plate. When I first saw it I asked myself, oops, where did the 700 grams go? Ok, I think so, the meat can lose a little substance. Luckily the cooking level was maintained. But what was completely wrong is that the piece of fillet was completely fried, it was a piece of hard nothing. The other pieces were also far from tender and professionally prepared. Finally, we had fries on our plate that hadn't even been in the deep fryer (raw). The chef, or whoever prepared it, is far from respecting the meat and preparing it perfectly. Tomato soup, rösti and bratwurst, I would probably eat here again, but dry-aged definitely not anymore. PS, in the photo, the piece on the right was the fillet piece.

The quality of the food was good. Not too special. The restaurant was half empty and we had to wait for a very long time to get our food on the table. They apologized and explained that the restaurant is not ready for everyone ordering at the same time (a big group for example). Nonetheless we had some nice dishes. The overal experience, given the prices, environment, service, etc. Was average. I however still recommend this place as it is one of the bests in the small town.

Food was really good, meat very well cooked. One of the best food we ate recently ! However, waiting time is long, for 2 white pasta for kids and 2 dishes of meat for adults we waited about 55 minutes. Restaurant was even half full.

Very modern restaurant specializing in meat. There is everything here to satisfy the spoiled gourmet. The satisfaction of the group of visitors was mixed. At times the burger was a bit dry and the steak was not medium rare as ordered. Of the few vegetarian meals, the ravioli with lemon sauce probably wasn't particularly convincing. The service, however, was excellent.

We had the pleasure of eating at Restaurant Rössli and were absolutely amazed by the quality of the food and the friendly service. The selection of dishes was extensive and there was something for every taste. Particularly noteworthy is the entrecôte, which was excellently prepared and a real delight for the palate. The taste and texture were perfect and the meat was tender and juicy. We also had the choice of dry-aged beef, which we didn't take. The service was very friendly and attentive, the staff took the time to accommodate our needs and ensure we were comfortable throughout the meal. The restaurant itself was clean and well maintained, with a cozy atmosphere that made you want to linger. Overall it was a wonderful evening and we will definitely be back. I can fully recommend the Rössli and give it a full five stars. The entrecôte, along with the selection of dry-aged beef, was a real highlight and I can only recommend it to anyone who loves meat.

Fantastic food. We were there last Friday. The dry aged beef is simply top notch. The service couldn't be better. Humorous, personal and courteous. We actually came to eat the porcini mushroom ravioli. The waiter sold us a super fine dry aged steak without being pushy. And we don't regret it. As a trained chef, I mostly trust myself when it comes to steaks. But that was a good decision. The ambience is excellent. Modern but homely furnished. Nice lighting

The service is simply terrible. The waiter behaved extremely defiantly. Firstly, it was impossible to call him. Secondly, the menu was only in German, not in English. Didn't help with choosing dishes or translating the menu into English. I didn’t go take orders, serving other tables (I delivered menus to guests who came after us). And when we called out to him, he snorted and shook his head, showing with his whole body how indignant he was, that he was being rushed, that he was busy. This is simply the most disgusting experience in Switzerland. Inappropriate behavior. The waiter is an adult man, absolutely rude and unprofessional. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent and very much recommended. We visited Rössli twice during our vacation in Switzerland, and we were very happy both times. Atmosphere: High-end restaurant, with great people at a central place in the city. Service: We had the same waiter at both times and he was very friendly and cheerful. We had a lovely conversation while the food was preparing. Food: Both times we ordered the dry aged T-bone and it was delicious and very well prepared. This was definitely the best quality beef we had in Switzerland, and the dry aging only made it better. Price: Not cheap, but really worth the price for the amount and quality. Overall: Highly recommended!

Bad service!! Keeps customer waiting for a very long time at the entrance without any attention, very unfriendly waiter when we ask if there is any table free. When there is no table free, it’s better to just inform the customer to go away rather than pretending no seeing anyone at the entrance!

Before we decided on the Rössli, we looked at the reviews on Google and thought that the service couldn't be that bad... However, it was exactly as others described it. Three points that were really bad: 1. We got to our place then three tables in front of us were served... that was just because we were younger than the others???! 2nd starter, bone marrow + 2 salads were served without bread. When the bread came after two warnings, the salad was eaten and the bone marrow was cold😡 3. the attention of the service for such an expensive restaurant and food not satisfactory! It's just a restaurant in a holiday resort and they can afford it if guests only visit their restaurant once. We'll definitely never go there again!

Our expectations were far exceeded We have eaten in many good restaurants around the world, and the “Rössli” restaurant has recently been one of them! Our expectations were far exceeded. We were warmly welcomed at the door. The ambience and attentive service (the staff was first class) evoke a welcoming atmosphere. Our dog was also wonderfully welcomed. The nice waitress came immediately to take our drink requests and at the same time brought a bowl of water. The innkeeper himself presented us with his 13-week aged rib eye on the bone, New York striploin on the bone and T-bone. The fantastic meat presentation with explanations of its origin, storage, preparation and then excellent grill preparation was special!!! The price-performance ratio is right. It was definitely not our last visit to the Rössli and we are already looking forward to the next visit. That was the best birthday dinner ever! Thank you! Ilona

The food is sensational, but is exceeded by the service. You would like to take the extremely accommodating hosts with you to every restaurant in the world to be served by them. Eaten like kings!

Highly recommended. Of course the meat costs a little more, but it is some of the best in the world - a big compliment. The service was also very friendly and took a lot of time for us. We even recommended a wonderful bike tour and wrote it down.

The food was really very good and the selection and presentation of the meat was very good. The restaurant was busy and there were only two servers on Saturday evening, so you had to wait a little longer. 2 pieces of meat were a bit over-salted. There were also an incredible number of flies in the restaurant and on the terrace, which spoiled the whole experience, especially inside you could fight them a bit. But definitely a recommendation for eating good meat.

Best steak ever! This stylish restaurant was a great find during our overnight stop in Meiringen. We hadn’t intended to try the aged beef but the charming owner presented it so well, we decided to go for it. So glad we did. Matched with a bottle of amarone, it was a special and memorable meal indeed.

We ate here for my husband's birthday. All expectations were far exceeded. We are taking a short vacation here and are originally from Berlin. We've tried many steak restaurants, but this one topped them all! We had never eaten such a good steak in our lives. The staff was first class! The boss himself and his friendly support looked after us very warmly. You could feel that this restaurant is run with love. Of course it had its price, but it was worth every franc. We sincerely thank you for allowing us to experience this!!

Here we cook freshly with fantastic Swiss quality! The meat was explained to us directly at the table and we could choose which one we wanted. I've never eaten such good meat! The restaurant is lovingly designed and the cozy terrace behind the house offers lots of sunshine. The service is very friendly and accommodating.

We were guests here and ate a flat iron steak and a rip eye, dry aged 12 weeks, the meat was exceptionally tender and simply fantastic. Certainly one of the best pieces of meat I have ever eaten. The first course was potatoes and beans, which were also simply fantastic, and the second course was Bernese fries with spinach (this one had a little too much onions. The service is very, very friendly, there were crayons and toys for the children. A very good one Place to eat excellent meat and spend a nice evening. Nous nous sommes réjouis de venir manger un bon morceau de viande, car le restaurant nous avait été recommandé par notre hôtelier. La serveuse était complètement débordée, l'attente fût toujours très longue. La serveuse laissait même la bouteille de vin sur la table vers les clients qui commandaient seulement un verre de vin. Certain ont bien profité.Lors de la commande de la viande , la serveuse nous a informé que la viande est toujours cuite à point. Nous avons été choqué que l'on puisse servir des bons morceaux de viande simplement à point. Nous avons clairement définis que nous voulions notre bison et notre autruche saignant. Après une longue attente, nous reçûmes enfins nos assiettes. Les frites n'avaient déjà par l'air vraiment bonnes et pas croustillantes,et il n'y avait que quelques frites que se couraient après. Le bison était déjâ un peu trop cuit mais encore un tout petit peu saignant. L'autruche ou plutôt l'entrecôte qui nous a été servie était une vraie semelle. Cuit à point. Nous en avons informé la serveuse, qui a repris l'assiette. Nous avons pû entendre la conversation entre le cuisinier et la serveuse qui parlaient du choix de la viande. Eh oui nous avions commandé de l'autruche et non de l'entrecôte. Bref après avoir de nouveau dû attendre, l'autruche fût enfin servie saignant. La viande était vraiment très bonne cette fois ci.Bizarrement sur la première assiette il y avait encore des légumes, que nous n'avions pas encore mangés. Sur la nouvelle assiette il y avait simplement l'autruche.... triste... grosse déception... il est clair que sur la facture l'autruche éait facturée avec la garniture. Les frites sont malheureusement pas du tout recommandables. Nous sommes repartis du restaurant après x heures, déçus....
