Very good brunch à discretion with a large special mezze selection and high-quality products. Extremely warm host couple who always made sure that we didn't miss anything. Be sure to leave room for the baklava cheesecake, highly recommended!

Was here for brunch. Modern atmosphere. Order directly at the bar. Friendly service. Parking is possible directly in the basement in the 'Im Westfeld' car park (2.-/h), although the navigation system unfortunately did not (yet) recognize this car park.

Very nice service, seat cushions were brought to us without asking in the cool autumn. Super tasty mezze platter and the coffee is also available with very good oat milk. At midday/afternoon the sun shines directly on the seat outside. Perfect!

Based on the many 5 star reviews, I expected a little more. The restaurant is nicely decorated and we received friendly service. I took the daily plate, the soup was delicious and a fairly large portion, the menu was rather small and very clear. Unfortunately everything was "crammed" into a small bowl. Unfortunately, the oven vegetables were in the oven a little too long and were pretty black, so they also tasted a bit charred.

The Umami is very nicely located, a bit out of the way in a spacious area behind the former hospital. There is a parking garage directly below this space. You can sit very nicely both inside and outside. The service is very friendly and attentive. On Sunday, upon reservation, there is a delicious brunch with cold and warm dishes from Levantine cuisine. Highly recommended.

Absolutely recommended, without any ifs or buts. Every single mezze plate is excellent. It is cooked with dedication and love, you can taste it. Vegetarians and vegans are definitely not left out. Glutenfree bread? No problem exists. The operators are very friendly and accommodating. You take time for your guests and are happy to advise. We'd love to come back. A big thank you to Özlem&Hakan.

I was there in a sunday sunny afternoon with my girlfriend on the 4th of June. It has a nice outdoor or indoor ambience. Our host Oslem was such a wonder full host that accompanied us with through the menu of selections. Umami Basel is an amazing spot for anyone looking for a quick bite to eat. The menu features an incredible selection of small bites, all served with delicious dips like hummus, babaganoush etc… and amazing warm bread. The homemade tea is also a must-try, with a range of flavors that are sure to please any palate. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a tasty snack. Overall, I highly recommend Umami Basel for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable eating experience. Would fit for family because there is a park beside where the kids can run around.

Very, very good brunch at Umami Basel. The restaurant is a bit hidden, but definitely worth going! We were pleasantly surprised that the table was getting fuller with a variety of delicacies Every time a new dish came, it was a small gift. Hummus, baba ganoush, börek, bulgur salad, egg salad, fresh fruit, confit etc. etc. We were welcomed by name in a very friendly manner, the tea was very tasty, the staff was friendly and we were even allowed to take some leftovers with us. Highly recommended for a nice, relaxed Sunday brunch without time pressure.
