Umamido in Genève

Very good dish and fairly quick service, Don't be afraid of always being hungry afterwards because the dishes are quite big.

We had the tonkotsu ramen, pork donburi, pickled cucumber and Kimchi. The cucumber was good. The ramen and doburi were OK, but the toppings were really cold! This is a first for me, and I had maaaany ramen and donburis, and the toppings were never cold! This surprised me since the restaurant has a high rating. The homemade kimchi was not good. I cannot recommend the food. The service was nice and comfortable.

We had tan tan men and siyo donkotz Soup, toppings and noodles, everything was really good! Price is also reasonable. Quick and good service.

This is one of the BEST ramen restaurants in Geneva (1,000,000x better than Yukiguni and Ukiyo). Delicious FLAVORBOMB soup, proper noodles and generous ingredients. They know how to treat their eggs - SOFT boiled with oozing yolk. They also open non stop from lunch till dinner everyday even on Sundays!!

Very good Ramen, the restaurant is friendly and quite small.

It was great, really very nice staff, whether the waiters or those at the reception. The food was also very good, very spicy and it also makes you want it just by seeing the dishes.

We had gyozas as a starter with the fried chicken. The gyozas lacked flavor and were almost cold, which is a shame. The frying of the chicken was not exceptional, and even though it was fried, the taste of the oil was still too present. The ramen noodles were undercooked in my opinion, and the broth was a little too salty. It's really a shame.

Absolutely great little Ramen restaurant. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, the kitchens are literally under your nose and the Ramen and Gyoza are to die for! Plus, it's very well served, you get what you pay for, there's no doubt about it! I recommend x1000!

We came because we know the Rive restaurant. However, that of Plainpalais leaves something to be desired regarding the state of the place. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired and could be improved. And the room staff does not know how to welcome its customers properly, the rather tall manager refused to listen to us for a table not too close to the entrance even though there were some available to avoid the cold.

Having tried lots of ramens in Geneva, the Umamido is in the top 3 for me. The dishes are tasty and the service is fast, reservations are not taken, but things turn around quite quickly. I have rarely waited more than 15 minutes to get a table. I really like this restaurant, it’s a sure bet.

Best ramen in Geneva! With ramen I always feel it’s a hit or miss. Either it’s to little ingredients, to small a portion, or a un flavourful broth. This has everything down to perfection. A rich broth and packed with ingredients! I was full and satisfied. I recommend going with the chef recommendation versions of each ramen. It cost’s a bit more but it’s really good.

This restaurant had been tempting me for a few months already, so I decided to go there and it was a very good discovery! The welcome was great, the team very kind and warm. Despite the fact that it is a small restaurant, the decoration is cool. The menu had a wide choice of different ramen, a few dishes to share, good choice of drinks, I recommend the homemade cold tea! Very tasty dishes at a very reasonable price for the quality and quantity. Only downside: A lot of people passing by (e.g. delivery people) don't necessarily close the door, being a small restaurant, the cold creeps in quickly, it's not great! Apart from that, I recommend with your eyes closed!

Food was good. Got the ramen and the bao, both tasted good. The noddles were slightly harder than I am used to, but overall good.

Great Ramen! I had the Tantanmen and it was excellent. Nice ingredients and a good level of spice. They even have splash bibs to save that tasty broth from making a new home in your cashmere sweater! Will be back to tick off the rest if the menu when I come back to Geneva.

Amazing. First visit and I really love it, it reminds me of the taste of Ramen when I was in Japan. I recommend without hesitation! Too bad they don't offer dessert, I was still hungry 😁

The dishes there are excellent. I tried the Japanese fried chicken and a mushroom bao bun, super good! On the other hand, they do not provide carafes of water, they offer bottles of water at 2.90chf for 500ml.

Very disappointed, the quality is no longer the same. The ramen is more expensive, less good (a few pieces of chicken and a lot of noodles!), the quantity has also been reduced!

Probably my favorite ramen in Geneva (No reservation possible)

Very good ramen, served quickly by a very friendly team. The broth is excellent. The pork meat used is tasty, but it is not marinated or braised during dressing. The temperature of the toppings is relatively variable (the eggs are cold, the meat too), you have to wait to get some uniformity. This is a bit of a nitpick, but these ramen could be perfect with just a little extra... Prices are relatively high for ramen. The room is not very warm in terms of atmosphere, with the door open and the ceilings very high. This remains a good address full of flavor!

I often frequented this restaurant and had always been well received. Above all, the dishes were well made and good. I come back a year later and what a metamorphosis! And not positively! The waiters were so obnoxious from the moment we arrived that you left without eating. I don't know if the good reputation of yesteryear explains that they no longer make an effort to be pleasant but one thing is certain, this is unacceptable and I will no longer go to this restaurant.

Excellent ramen in a university atmosphere.

Ramen is tasty, though it's a little salty for me, but it could be ideal for others. The indoor atmosphere is pleasant; however, the standard price for a bowl of ramen is, to be honest, prohibitively expensive.

How to tell you…. a young, dynamic and friendly Team, just like the atmosphere with thousands of smiles and a sense of service, it feels great 🤩but that's without counting the quality of the products and the cuisine made with passion, everything that I I like to find in a restaurant. The results are a pleasant evening with healthy and, above all, tasty cuisine. An address that I recommend without hesitation. Please note they do not take reservations. 😉

The dishes are served quickly, there are very good options for vegetarians. The prices are relatively high but the portions are large. The yuzu lemonade is particularly delicious, I highly recommend this restaurant!

The food is really good. I was very happy with my order! Although, I have to say it’s very expensive! 😬( At least from someone who is not from switzerland) I ordered ramen and gyoza.

One of the best ramen in Switzerland. I have tired many ramen restaurant in Switzerland and here’s one of my favorite. The test was so good , original test, lemonade yuzu was so good too! 😊 recommend

Umamido is a reliable lunch spot (for ramen, and buns mostly for me), with good consistency over the years. By sheer luck, I ended up eating at this Umamido just one day after trying the one in Rive. They balance themselves out. I had fried chicken and rice this time. The egg was much better here. The cherry tomatoes were there too, sad. Sparkling water is much more expensive in this branch. I prefer the outdoor seating area here.

I give one star for the gyozas which are not homemade (a waiter told us that they were frozen and imported from an Eastern country) I don't understand how you can charge for hot sauce even if it's homemade.

We were very pleasantly received. The service is excellent, and the ramen delicious. Nothing to complain about, if you are passing through Geneva and want a good hot dish in a warm setting, this is the perfect place.

The ramens are just delicious, very complex, tasty and very fatty like in Japan. Being a big fan of Asian restaurants, this is one of the best I've been to!

Super authentic, tasty and best ramen so far outside of Japan! Everything was great, friendly service, refreshing drinks and of course the great food. Even dogs are allowed into the restaurant. 100% recommended

The vegetarian and the chicken-flavored ramen noodles were delicious and the broth super tasty. Reasonable Swiss prices. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine.

Pretty good, but not exceptional either!. Rather expensive price for the quality. Service nevertheless cordial. The ramen should be 15 CHF, for it to be acceptable. Overrated.

A bowl of ramen with the extra chef suggestions, 26.- all toppings served at fridge temperature, which it ruined the meal, and checking with my friends it's always like that

Great ramen and boa buns - gutted that there were no English translated menus 🙄. I get the Swiss French hate English ... blah, blah, blah ... but clearly the owner doesn't want to upsell and make money on the smaller, less known items on the menu 🤷🏼

The team is kind and helpful. The food in general is delicious and if you like this type of cuisine you have to come. The prices are reasonable and the quantities perfect 👍🏼

The perfect egg was not cooked. The white was transparent. This is the second time I've eaten there and frankly there is a detestable taste that I can't define. Damage. The waiter at the counter offers to leave a tip but why give it if you're not eating there. 2/5

They accommodated us for a large group of 10 students, the weightier was very kind, helpful and efficient. ( great combo ) This top notch service was paired with great ramens that we had, and quality info about allergens for our friend who can’t have nuts.

so, where to start? picking a chain hoping for at least a decent meal, I ordered the chef's recommendation, guess what? the meat was stone cold and stodgy and the egg too, worth almost 40.- I've complained to the manager and "prrr on est désolé" they didn't offer any sort of compesation, can you believe it?

Good service, delicious ramen! If you eat in the main room in winter, expect to be cold. It unfortunately spoils the experience of a good hot ramen...

The ramen leaves something to be desired… the soup was lukewarm and the pork strips came out of the fridge, so very cold. The seaweed was tasteless. It was cold that day and we wanted to drink hot tea but they didn't have any hot drinks. For a Japanese restaurant this is just unthinkable. The decor of the spot is minimal, no effort to create a warm atmosphere (white wall and small stool that you just don't want to place on). We ate quietly while chatting and the waiters at the place kept scrutinizing us which made us uncomfortable, then they came several times to ask us if we had finished eating. One of the waiters even took my friend's soup before he even had time to respond. In short, very bad experience and to top it off when paying with the bank card the waiter insists that we can leave them a tip. I have rarely seen such rude waiters.

The dishes are nice! On the other hand, the red wine is disgusting. It’s a shame because there are some very good wines in Geneva.

Not bad, but a bit cloying broth

The first time I tried Umamido (4 years ago) it was so delicious, and impeccable attention. Sadly, it was a one hit wonder. Since then, there have been few times where we tried to go and they had unthinkable issues. For example, there was one night where they couldn’t serve us because they were out of broth at the beginning of their service (think that this is the sole thing they sell! And they were out of it by 9pm 🤷🏻‍♀️). Another time we ordered to take away but the staff refused to tell us until the order was placed that they had issues with the card reader, hence their solution was for us to order again through uber and wait more than an hour to get the food. It’s important to say we live right in front of Umamido which is why it’s nonsense to order uber when it’s across the street. Finally, Ramen came cold and soggy, a never again experience. Nonetheless, I wanted to still give it a chance and we were there for dinner. We arrived when all the tables were taken, so we had to sit at the window seats. During the time we waited to order two more comfy tables were available and the waiter refused to change us allegedly because he had given them away already. This was not true as I approached him first before when he was cleaning the tables and he hadn’t been outside to tell the waiting list what their table was. The ramen was good, but honestly 25CHF for vegetarian ramen that is only broth and noodles and some nori is outrageous.

We had two people come here and each had a bowl of noodles that cost roughly 20chf each. I didn’t realize when I was paying, but not sure why they charged me almost 60chf… I realized later why we paid so much… dont recommend this place. Very dishonest restaurant

Best ramen in Geneva, where noodle is great and the tonkotsu broth is nice. However, we had to wait for 50 mins to get a ramen during lunch. It took 30 mins for gyoza, another 20 mins for ramen. It was a bit pretentious to give food like a "course menu" in an Asian restaurant.

Ramen du chef was good bit spicy. But we waited 30-40 min and it's absolutely not worth 31.- ... Altho the staff is really nice

We arrived after 14:00 on a Sunday, not sure if we could still have lunch there, yet we were warmly welcomed by a smiling waitress. Loved the ramen soup base but we felt that the ramen texture was rather like instant noodles.
