Urbansurf in Zürich

99% of the good reviews here are by people who simply stopped by to eat/drink and watch the surfers (and shouldn't be leaving reviews here). For anyone that's come here to actually surf then it seems to be a unanimous experience: a complete rip off. About 60CHF for 50mins which you share with 6 other people. So in reality, you are LITERALLY paying 60CHF to surf for a grand total of 8 mins. This level of stupidity is unreal. Update: it’s now 65CHF for 30 mins shared with 6 people. So it’s even worse! 5 mins surfing for 65CHF. Wow.

Great spot. Cool bar. Nice staff. You can feel the surf vibes as soon as you come up the stairs.

Great place. There is a super good vibe and the instructors are very attentive constantly giving feedback on how to improve. Also fun when the weather is bad, the water is warm and they provide wetsuits.

We came past closing time and the staff were still very welcoming and gave us a few drinks. Furthermore, the bartender Vivienne mixed us some great Spritzes!! Kudos

Great atmosphere, but unfortunately the communication and staff are poor. Since the music is part of the ambience, it was a shame that it was turned off 1 hour before the end and spoiled the atmosphere.

Such a fun place! You can visit even if you do not like to surf yourself. There are great chill and lounge areas, good food and drinks, and you can watch people surfing for free. Also, there is good music, and, in the summertime, it is also very during the late hours. Would definitely recommend stopping by and checking it out. The location is easily accessible by tram and bus but has limited parking options.

Spectacular place for aquatic fun. Switzerland does not have an outlet to the sea and so it creates the sea wave for you to surf to your heart's content. Great idea. 😃👍

An amazing surfing experience inside the city! To start with, it is very different than surfing: the water comes from the front, rather than riding the wave from the back like in regular surfing. Hence you have to move all your balance on the back foot mostly. Most of the trainers are awesome! On the first lesson we had someone and she barely explained anything, so for the first 15mins we couldn’t even stand up even though we surfed before.. but after seeing that, the other instructor came and gave us some advice and we did much better! We came for a second time and we had two amazing instructors again, giving us tips and help! I highly recommend booking two sessions (in a row or with a break in between) for the first time, since it is not enough time in one session to learn much. The atmosphere is 10/10 as well, with it being full in the evenings with people at the bar, having a beer and some food and listening to great chill music!

At least you can get open beer here!

You can totally learn to surf from 0 here. Though the prices are a bit high, the experience is really nice and the instructors try to help you get a grasp on the board and learn the technique. If you've never tried this could be your chance to figure out whether you like surf. They also provide equipment like wet suits which help you not be cold.

We ordered burgers and fries. Our fries we're ready and we could see them from our table. Then the two cooks and one if the waiters started eating the fries. When the burgers were ready, I complained about the people eating our food. They were a bit baffled and didn't apologize but offered to prepare another portion. I didn't want that because I was afraid I would get the same one. I got my money back, we ate the burgers and left to go somewhere else. This was our fourth time there and the first really bad experience. The place is overall quite entertaining with all the surfers and you have sun for a long time.

I love going here in the summer when they have a DJ and surfers out in the water. The place is always packed with people and it feels so alive! The music sounds like something that I would enjoy and has a vibe that is perfect for summer nights or afternoons. It's an open space, yet, if you’re planning to surf you need to book a slot in advance.

Very casual, something different atmosphere very nice. Nice personel. The food was, well, the cook cooked very, very bland.

2 minutes before kick-off and the sound doesn't switch to the TV to watch football. You have to point it out first so that someone thinks about it. Even the miserable gang of surfers can only be switched off at exactly 9 p.m. (at kick-off) so that only then can the rest of the queue get into the restaurant. It's just so unprofessional.
