Proud to be a Carouge and Italian merchant, to live a culinary experience of this quality. Everything was perfect, the service, the location, and above all the cuisine, hence a trip to Italy during the lunch break on a sunny Saturday. Well done

It's a detail that may seem silly, but on the set tables there are napkin rings, something that I thought I only saw at family meals and which makes you immediately feel at home. The decoration is warm, the welcome is friendly and the cuisine is excellent. It's not really cheap, and we can regret that what weighs the most in the bill are the less special things: coffee and drinks. Very nice address all the same, where we will return with pleasure.

The pasta was very good and the tiramisu excellent, very pretty setting with a magnificent terrace. Pleasant and efficient service. Really, very good address.

Magnificent evening on the terrace in this restaurant. The Italian menu is very interesting and gives a lot of options. I tasted a magnificent tomato gazpacho and then a grilled sea bream, a marvel, I thought I was in Sanremo! My friends had the Frito Misto and the beef tagliata. Everyone was very happy. The prices are justified in relation to the quality. Via Roma is highly recommended.

Delicious and excellent service

My wife and I visited this afternoon. The terrace is very pleasant, silent and peaceful. The staff is friendly and with a slight Italian accent that reminds us of our culinary journey. The dishes are delicious!

Restaurant with an overrated rating. Tasteless dishes and sorely lacking in taste. Vitello tonnato is not designed like the Italian tradition. The fish was bland and the cheese was in line with previous dishes, completely lacking in flavor. For the wines, much too expensive compared to what we were served (I am an oenology professor). In any case, this is not an address that I would recommend. For the prices.... it is inversely proportional to the quality served.

Restaurant where Italy is the protagonist... the cuisine, the service, the air... everything is magnificently Italian! Seems like an expensive restaurant, but once inside and once the fork is in your mouth, you immediately change your mind! And then, they have a magnificent Italian Pilsner! Well done!

I've been coming here forever and despite the change of owner, the quality has remained and the service is still as friendly... Last night, from one minute to the next, the terrace found itself flooded by a torrential rain worthy of a monsoon… In less than a minute, they sheltered us all by deploying tents and while we were dry to finish our meal, the waiters continued to serve us, completely soaked but with a smile… c It's the best Italian restaurant in the area, only remark: we need to improve the wines by the glass, we tried 3 and none were good, but this is the first time this has happened... Out of at least 50 visits 😜

A little expensive, but very, very good! So value for money is correct. Definitely a step up from other restaurants in Carouge. Everything was prepared to perfection- a real Italian treat.

Better to book as it is famous and worth the detour

A little disappointed with my last visit (last night...) the owner has changed, the chef too, the spaghetti with lobster being scandalously expensive and with a tiny bit of lobster, the pasta which looked like soba. It seems like there’s a spirit of fusion cuisine. To see in the future.

Upscale Italian restaurant... The menu is nice. But depending on the dishes you can still be hungry. Watch out for the prices 😉. Professional service.. Too bad we are pushing consumption.

Excellente adresse. Nous sommes venus pour le déjeuner en terrasse et spécialement pour les linguines au homard ( pensez à réserver ). Serveuse très professionnelle, très belle assiette nous nous sommes régalés. Dessert fait maison pour notre plus grand plaisir. On reviendra

I love this restaurant! The dishes are delicious, the service is very good, not a lot of waiting and in any case you don't see the time passing because you feel so good there! The trio of tartare is sublime, the Sicilian Cannolo a treat! The waitress: divine! honestly everything was good!

Very poorly recommended by a waitress who offers a huge fish dish for two (€60) but she recommends it for one person. Of course she doesn't talk about the price at all. A side dish of roughly cut grilled vegetables. She tells us about a similar little entry for quantities. We left without having eaten well with the smile of the waitress but with a very very unpleasant feeling!! We have not returned and above all we do not recommend

It was a great place 2 years ago. Unfortunately service and food quality reduced a lot over time. Now there are inattentive personnel, very late service and cold plates. It doesn't justify the price at all.

We were here for a dinner with friends, a welcoming Italian-inspired place. Fish-based cuisine, simple and tasty dishes. Being in Geneva, butter cannot be missing from your preparations. The only flaw is the microclimate inside; perceived temperature 50 degrees centigrade ;) recommended for those who want to feel at home.

Siamo stati qui per una cena con amici, locale accogliente di ispirazione italiana. Cucina a base di pesce, piatti semplici e gustosi. Essendo a Ginevra il burro nelle preparazioni non può mancare. Unico neo, il microclima all'interno; temperatura percepita 50 gradi centigradi ;) consigliato a chi desidera sentirsi a casa.

Excellent restaurant for fish or seafood lovers. Very friendly staff

Le restaurant est bien situé, il a un très joli cadre, le personnel est souriant. Les plats sont bon mais hors de prix. Nous avons mangé des pâtes et un dessert plus deux verres de vin nous en avons eux pour 150frs pour deux personnes. Certes les plats sont bons, mais moi je trouve inadmissible de proposer une assiette de calamars ou de poisson à un prix déjà bien élevé et qu'en plus de celà il faut rajouter 14 frs pour l'accompagnement. Tout plat devrais déjà avoir son accompagnement fourni de base. Les pâtes ont du goût mais mettre deux crevettes qui se court après dans le plat c'est trop peu. C'est dommage car je suis sure que s'ils ferait un effort niveau qualité prix le restaurant aurait beaucoup plus de monde.

In terms of service, it's better. It's a real Italian restaurant, not a pizzeria or a trattoria, there's first course second course and all that...but there's no meat. Fish and crustaceans...too bad.

Restaurant très accueillent, service très au point, attentionné et à l'écoute de vos requêtes. On as commandé une tartare de thon et spaghetti au fruit mer, assiettes bien servies et copieuse, excellent goute. Petit juste du serveur avec digestive offert pour ma copine et moi. On a été mal accueilli, l'attente est interminable. Ils sont 3 mais n'arrivent pas à gérer le peu de tables qu'ils se partagent. On a pris un tartare avec 2 toast servis seulement, au prix de 38.- chf on a redemandé des toasts qui ont dû être redemandé et qui sont arrivés en fin de repas. Ma sœur qui a pris le tartare est allée vomir 20 min après notre depart. (on est parti a peine après avoir fini le plat)Je suis enceinte et jai pris spaghetti aux fruits de mer, je constate que les deux crevettes entières ne sont pas cuites même crues pour l'une d'entre elle. Je leur signale, ils vous écoutent à peine, ne s'excusent pas mais proposent de les recuire. Les crevettes ne sont jamais revenues..Le plat de mon copain était correct sans plus. Les prix sont très élevés pour la qualité du service et des plats. De nombreux clients se sont plaints ce soir du 1er août (fête nationale suisse). Le patron ne daigne pas venir nous voir ou les clients qui se plaignent. On dirait qu'il s'en foute car ce soir tout est pris.C'est scandaleux de faire payer ces prix avec un service nul qui parle à peine le français. Une serveuse nous a avoue ne pas bien parler le français lorsqu'on s'est plaint de recevoir les toasts après avoir mangé le tartare et les toasts étaient tous des trognons de pain ! Le serveur me répond qu'ils n'ont pas de toast.A EVITER ET A BOYCOTTER ! Je vais les dénoncer aux services d'hygiène, histoire qu'ils vérifient leurs fruits de mer et poissons.

Repas du 1er août (Fête nationale suisse) plus que décevant...Le service était inexistant, nous avons dû rester quasi 2 heures pour pouvoir avoir 4 plats, dont deux plats de pâtes pour nos enfants. La qualité des plats est médiocre. Le prix est exorbitant par rapport aux produits proposés, par exemple facturation de 40.- pour un plat de pâte au beurre taille enfant et un autre avec de la tomate. Une cliente à côté de notre table à dû repartir sans manger, car sa commande a été oubliée. En résumé, restaurant à éviter surtout au vu des bonnes tables existantes à Carouge.

No worries, this Italian fish restaurant is absolutely perfect. The menu or dish of the day is very affordable and the value for money is excellent. The à la carte dishes are worth their prices but you need a good budget to eat in the evening.

Service in english is poor. Italian food must be improved!

Nous avons été très déçu par ce restaurant. Alors que nous avions commandé un risotto nature (sans fruits de mer), il nous a été servi une assiette de riz blanc sans assaisonnement (à priori le risotto italien est un riz blanc). Après quelques remarques, le serveur nous a ramenés une assiette de risotto avec des fruits de mer alors que nous avions bien spécifié que nous ne pouvions pas manger cet aliment. Si la situation n'en était pas aussi décevante, elle en serait risible. Le carpaccio de thon servi en plat est facturé CHF 40.00, très cher pour une portion correspondant à une entrée. Un service qui laisse à désirer et des serveurs ne tenant pas compte de vos demandes. Je ne recommanderais pas ce restaurant.

déjeuner plat du jour à 25 chf avec un vague filet de poisson et 3 légumes qui se court après, pâte avec 3 minuscules morceaux de mozzarella ! tartare de thon avec soit disant de l’avocat, il fallait un microscope pour le voir à 38.— l’assiette. franchement en sortant nous avions faim. à fuir absolument !

Nous sommes passés par hasard par Carouge et nous avons décidé de déjeuner dans ce restaurant. Le cadre est joli, c'est authentique, lumineux et propre. Nous avons apprécié notre repas, cuisine italienne authentique, les plats sont de qualité. Sans originalité particulière (cuisine axée sur les produits de la mer), mais des produits très frais, bien cuisinés. Les quantités sont parfaites, on finit son plat rassasié mais sans lourdeurs.Le service est sérieux, professionnel mais un peu froid, de ce fait l'ambiance nous a semblé un peu impersonnelle. L'attente était assez longue entre la commande et le service mais nous avions été prévenus en amont et nous n'étions pas pressés, nous n'en tenons donc pas rigueur. C'est une bonne adresse si on veut manger une cuisine italienne de qualité bien que les prix soient un peu élevés par rapport au standing.

Ich konnte es wirklich nicht essen - wir beschwerten uns und schickten es zurück und waren dann ziemlich unbeeindruckt, als wir herausfanden, dass wir dafür auf unserer Rechnung belastet wurden. Es gab letzte Nacht mehrere unglückliche Kunden, so dass dies eindeutig kein Einzelfall war.

We chose this venue for our wedding, it is very classy, ​​Italian style, meals served of very good quality. The restaurant was reserved entirely for us, there is also the partially covered terrace for smokers. Close to tram buses and a large underground car park. The price per person is really very affordable. We chose an aperitif dinner and a light dessert. We have not been disappointed. I recommend booking at least 2 months in advance for a large festive event. MORE SIMPLY, I RECOMMEND!!!!

The quality of the food was more than marred by the quality of the service. Slow, incompetent and rude. The dishes were half served. The fish was brought first but the side dishes arrived at the end of the meal about 20 minutes (after half the plate had fallen on the floor, without any excuse). In the meantime, we waited 15 minutes for one of the guests' tartare to be served and another good fifteen minutes to receive bread for the tartare. In short, sadly disappointed with the service.

Quelle deception !Nous nous attendions à beaucoup mieux !Positif :- un cadre charmant, lumineux et aéré Négatif :- un service hyper lent, 20 minutes d’attente entre chaque plat (2 serveurs peu réveillés pour env.15 tables)- des rations pour anorexique (après le repas nous avions encore faim !)- une nourriture fade et mal préparée( la fameuse salade de poulpe italienne : 3 tentacules entière sur une cuillère à café de purée - sans parler du poulpe trop cuit) (des calamars de mauvaise qualité dans une friture molle) etc..- des prix qui ne passerait pas hors de Suisse. Compter CHF 100.- par personne pour 3 plats, sans vins ! En plus l’eau gazeuse a CHF 10.- la bouteille !Bref de nombreux restaurants a Genève bien meilleurs, bien moins chers, bien plus efficaces,et plus sympathiques ( on nous a même pas salué à notre départ !)

Authentic Italian fish restaurant

Menü enttäuschend, keine gute Wahl. Wenn Sie keinen Fisch mögen, dann gehen Sie nicht dorthin. Das Restaurant ist gut mit weißen Leinentüchern und Servietten ausgestattet. Es war ziemlich kalt im Zimmer. Dies ist kein familienorientiertes Restaurant und ist recht teuer.

Wir waren mit der Qualität des Essens zufrieden. Die Meeresfrüchte-Spaghetti waren hervorragend. Aber der Service war langsam und uneinheitlich. Von den drei Mitarbeitern konnte nur einer Englisch sprechen. An sich ist das kein Problem, aber als sie uns nicht verstanden haben, haben sie uns ignoriert.

Quality of food is very good. Had a delicious seafood spaghetti and tiramisu. But service is slow and patchy. Only 1 of 3 waiters speak English and when they don't understand you, they ignore you! 8

Mon mari et moi avons trouvé, par hazard, ce restaurant et quelle belle surprise ! Cela faisait très longtemps que je n'avais pas aussi bien mangé Italien... Je recommande vivement cet établissement ! Et je vous conseil de tenter l'assiette de friture maison en entrée (calamars...) un régal. Mon mari a adoré ses pâtes aux fruits de mer et moi mes pâtes avec de la rascasse.

in occasione del salone dell'auto siamo stati indirizzati da alcuni amici che abitano in zona, siamo rimasti molto sosdisfatti, buona la pasta con ricotta e scampi e strepitosi altrettanto i secondi, pesce fresco e sapori tutti italiani, ambiente tranquillo e riservato, da ritornarci sicuramente il prossimo anno!!!

Stavo cercando un buon ristorante italiano a Carouge. Mi sono trovato davanti il VIA ROMA e sono stato attratto dal suo nome! Sono entrato, i camerieri mi hanno accolto in maniera molto cortese.. anche L ambiente mi ha trasmesso l aria di casa! ho scelto in entrata un ottima parmigiana (Fait maison) e in seguito un piatto di frittura di calamari davvero ottima! Complimenti anche per il tiramisù e lo strudel col gelato

An einem Samstag zu Fuß nach Carouge angehalten, sehr gute Lage, aber das Essen war ereignislos, und wie alle Restaurants in der Region Geneve, ob gut oder schlecht, sind sie teuer. Regelmäßiges italienisches Essen kann man überall essen, nichts Besonderes.

Un restaurant italien très orienté vers les produits de la mer, le cadre est sympathique, mais la cuisine est sans originalité.La carte est assez réduite, et celle des vins très limitée, avec des prix qui ne sont pas du tout en rapport avec la qualité des assiettes proposées. Le risotto était très moyen, et surtout très salé, on trouvera facilement un bien meilleur rapport qualité/prix que ce restaurant italien à Genève.Une remarque concernant notre première de Brunello qui était fortement bouchonnée, mais qui fut remplacée sans problème.

Niché au cœur du vieux Carouge, face à l’entrée du parking public se qui est un plus non négligeable, le restaurant Via Roma se distingue tout de suite par une belle façade d’angle.Une fois à l’intérieur, difficile de ne pas trouver cet endroit très joli. Les poutres et le parquet en bois, côtoient avec beaucoup d’élégance une décoration chic et des tables très bien dressées. Parfait pour un tête à tête en amoureux.Passé le cap visuel qu’en est-il de l’accueil et du personnel.. ? Là encore rien à dire, personnel souriant, attentionné et professionnel à l’image du patron très serviable et aux petit soins avec tous les clients.La carte des vins italiens propose un vaste choix de bouteilles dont les prix sont raisonnables. La carte des mets propose un vaste choix, comme en Italie.. ! antipasti, primi, secondi etc etc… ! au niveau des prix on est plutôt dans une fourchette de haute.A l’entrée du restaurant un étal à poisson réfrigéré propose la marrée journalière, malin et appétissant.La dégustation maintenant.. ! C’est la seule chose qui nous a laissé vraiment sur notre faim et qui fait du coup chuter la note que nous attribuons. En effet si tous les plats que nous avons commandés étaient parfaitement dressés et copieux, tous étaient vraiment très fade et manquaient singulièrement de peps, quel dommage. Par contre les cuissons elles, étaient parfaitement maîtrisées.Au final, hormis se problème d’assaisonnement qui il faut absolument que la cuisine corrige au plus vite, il est plaisant de se rendre à Via Roma, et nous y retournerons ma femme et moi-même avec plaisir.

Nous y avons organisé le baptême de notre fils, très bel accueil, personnel souriant et aux petits soins, cadre original qui nous rappelle la belle Italie. Choix varié au buffet et mets délicieux. Tous nos invités étaient ravis. On y retournera prochainement.
