Too expensive, unfriendly staff

Very classic café: the products are very simple and typical of the region but well prepared. The quality of the bread is excellent and the sandwiches are generously filled. The salads have unusual combinations, I would prefer more fresh vegetables. You can either buy take-away products or consume them in the back room together with a hot drink.

Nice bakery with a small cafe. The baked goods were very tasty. And the price is fair too. Unfortunately the employee wasn't that friendly. But otherwise everything was very good.

Pastries and cappuccino were very good. However, the service is poor. We were standing at the counter and wanted to choose some baked goods when the service employee just ran away to the cash register and told us we had to order there. Excuse me, who orders baked goods that are displayed on the counter, in front of the checkout, where you can't even really see them?! The order was then brought to our table carelessly, although we continued to be very friendly. It's a shame, but it reflects what you hear about the Voland branches and the treatment of the service staff... next time we'll go somewhere else!

An absolutely fantastic place that invites you to linger, have breakfast or just drink coffee. Not only has a modern ambience been created here, but also a “place to be” for every generation through loving details. The breakfast variations are delicious and therefore absolutely recommended. As we all know, the eye eats with us. The diverse and attractively presented offer invites you to come here more often. The staff is very friendly, attentive and happy to fulfill the customers' wishes. The service is absolutely top notch and is also convincing. Of course, a special thank you goes out to all the employees who looked after us. Here you are not only welcome, but you also feel like a guest. Bravo - keep it up! My conclusion: Absolutely recommended. We always enjoy coming here and have never been disappointed. Dear readers, come here and see for yourself.

Selected at the counter and paid for immediately, the food was served to the table. Very friendly and accommodating. Orange armchairs liven up the mood, soft music creates a good ambience.

Price remains the same with new self-service. Incredibly expensive. For a milk alternative, soy milk, 1 CHF will be charged in addition to the expensive coffee price in 2023. Solid bakery with fine little things, pieces of cake, flat cakes, etc. They also offer ice cream, although the quality here varies greatly. Especially with vanilla, I had encountered very grainy (almost sandy), definitely not creamy batches with little taste.

I ordered a cake from VOLAND for my daughter's birthday. The saleswoman didn't point out to me that they only make mousse cakes with Styrofoam, and didn't say a word to the customer about the foreign object in the cake. When I spoke to the manager, I told him to point out to the customer that in addition to the mousse, it also contains Styrofoam. The store manager then accused me of being unhappy with the cake they made. Never again, and I don't recommend it to anyone. I've waited a month for an apology and still haven't received one.

What bothered me was that the terrace was dirty and the tables weren't clean either!

After a few visits, I wanted to find out whether it was just me being treated unkindly or whether this was a well-known topic. Lo and behold, it's a familiar topic. The baked goods are great, so I can overlook the unfriendly employees (two people so far) and get two stars instead of just one... This problem should be addressed. With such a large selection of baked goods, as a salesperson you have to wait a little while until the customer has decided. The world won't end there.

The new concept doesn't appeal to me at all. I see no advantage at all for the customer. On the contrary, it is missing that one at all is welcome. Not like that....

I'm very happy with the bakery and it's super friendly. I've always been served well, it's not that different, but on the negative reviews there's more to it. I'm happy with the business, it's important that the customer is happy and I think it's really nice. I'll always be like that support

Today we went for coffee and cake after the funeral service. I have to be honest, it was disappointing. We were neither greeted nor served properly. We had to sit at a long table that was carelessly pushed together; those who once sat on the bench couldn't get out. We had to write our order down by hand on a cake box/ the whole company had to order and get their cakes themselves at the counter and then sat in front of their piece of cake for a full 20 minutes without drinks. The quality of the drinks and food was okay. (That's why 2 stars and not just one) But everything else - given the occasion, was just sad. It's a shame - we'll definitely never come back.

I have been a regular guest at Voland Rüti for years and appreciated the pleasant atmosphere, but since the renovation I have had to think about it. The new structures leave a lot to be desired. The waiting time until you can order at the counter is too long. It can take up to half an hour for the coffee to be served. The staff is sometimes overwhelmed with dealing with the orders that come in. It's a shame that the cost-cutting measures come at the expense of customers and staff. Hopefully the good quality of the products will be maintained.

Switched to self-service. The “public” bakery is in the same area and therefore it is drafty and uncomfortably cold in the café (we had cold feet and noses) - that would be noticeably better

Great bakery, very friendly employees with great quality

The saleswoman couldn't answer whether the salmon sandwich and the tuna sandwich contained onions. When I asked if she could look it up somewhere, she said no. In what kind of restaurant can you not check what the products contain?! At the checkout it also says that if you have any questions about allergens, please contact the sales staff. There was also only one leaf of lettuce in the schnitzel bread, which only covered half of the sandwich... Disappointing visit.

Nice cafe with fine Volland food. Also has a garden terrace under the trees. Highly recommended. We always like to go here and enjoy canapés and cafes. It should be mentioned that it also has fine food such as salads, schnitzels, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Completely incompetent staff who don't know the ingredients. I asked about a vegan breakfast and was told "if you follow that diet, you know which of our breads are vegan"... No, you should know your range and make a useful suggestion. What if I had an allergy?

The Voland Rüti was once a very pleasant café. We liked going regularly. Min. 1x per week. Unfortunately the quality decreased massively. Outside, the forecourt is never cleared of leaves, and the cushions are missing from the lounge. The lounge itself is full of leaves and is not cleared of them for the guests. The table is not wiped, breakfast is served on the dirty leafed table. It's a shame that despite the complaint via email, nothing could be changed and it continued to be handled this way. I find it unpleasant to be served my breakfast plate on a pile of leaves. I find a clean table and a wiped chair, bench you can expect. The food is still great.

The cafe is nice and cozy, pastries probably good, however the lunch was the worst in years! I had baby carrots that were absolutely artificial and inedible. Why not cook some fresh carrots? And a "decorative" tomato, even though everyone knows that you can't and shouldn't eat tomatoes in winter. They don't taste good at all because tomatoes are summer vegetables. But you just have to cook fresh vegetables properly and that seems impossible there. It's a shame for the beautiful café. I'll never go there to eat again.

On December 6th At 9:15 a.m. there were still no king cakes put away! This is very weak. But the saleswoman was very nice and immediately looked for the cake she wanted!

Everything here radiates love for the craft, from the delicious sweet pastries to sandwiches and wonderful mild coffee. Soy milk is available as well, and the staff are usually all smiles and happiness. It seems they know their whole clientele, yet they aren't unfriendly to newcomers and outsiders. Highly recommended for breakfast, a lunch snack or a lazy afternoon.

I'm welcome here with Wuffi. As far as the service is concerned, one or two ladies are likely to be friendly all the time (sometimes friendly, sometimes stressed and annoyed, sometimes unfriendly) - the competition can do it 100%.🤷‍♀️🙏✌❣

The café used to be really good. But now in half of the cases you can't buy something quickly here because the staff is already half asleep and there are 4 people hanging around in the background but rarely anyone (with laudable exceptions) seems to be interested in waiting customers. Paying by card is also difficult. I don't know of any other bakery where this is going so badly. And this despite the rather high prices. It's a shame, the products themselves are actually very good.

In my opinion the employees are too overwhelmed with everything. They offer rolls via street advertising, but half of the ingredients are missing. Many smaller rolls were sold out shortly after 10 o'clock, and the chocolate bunnies on offer were overpriced. If you want to have breakfast there, they are quite confusing when it comes to the delivery and collection system. The other day I spontaneously picked up some sweets but it tasted like it was from the day before yesterday. A pity. And the staff seems bitchy when it comes to criticism.

The Sunday brunch offering was a lot smaller than stated on the website. The service left a lot to be desired and had to be called again and again. I appreciate it when she takes care of the guest and asks questions every now and then.

Service slow, unfriendly... a disaster. No service came to me for 15 minutes, unfortunately I had to drive a little further to Beckerei Steiner where everyone is always very friendly and has an excellent selection.

Delicious breakfast at fair prices. Whether buffet (27 CHF) or as a package (from 10 CHF). The different options are well put together and the bread roll variations are very tasty (nut, olive, etc.). The portions for both breakfast and lunch are large and absolutely sufficient. The pastries and cakes are delicious. The service is very friendly and very customer oriented.

Very unfriendly, incompetent advice in standard German. Inflexible in her service, she served us watery coffee and insisted on payment after the complaint. We won't come back as long as this person is on duty. New staff should be deployed here as quickly as possible otherwise the regular customers will not come! Top products, service makes you want to run screaming.
