Waldrand in Lauterbrunnen

Fuera de la brisa mordedora y disfrutando del cálido sol de la mañana, un café del Día de Año Nuevo nunca supo mejor.Sí, la vista es como uno esperaría para los Alpes suizos. . impresionante PERO. . .. . . pudimos ver el 'clima' bajando desde Grindelwald y luego giramos y rodamos hacia Lauterbrunnen y luego giramos una vez más y retrocedemos por el valle antes de disiparnos por completo. El espectáculo meteorológico más fascinante de 45 minutos: todo visto desde nuestro punto de vista sobre las nubes, fuera del restaurante Waldrand.Habiendo visitado Lauterbrunnen docenas de veces a lo largo de los años, el nuevo camino hasta Isenfluh finalmente me convenció para que apareciera de visita. Qué agradable y pequeña sorpresa.¡Uno para mirar!

Freundliche Restaurantbesitzer mit gutem Essen auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. . tolle Aussichten sehr landschaftlich. . tolle kurvenreiche Straße durch das Innere des Berges. . super Zimmer, sehr sauber und regelmäßige Busverbindungen. .

Vom Wirtepaar wurden wir herzlich empfangen und mit feinem Essen verwöhnt. Kinder sind willkommmen (Spielsachen und Kindermenus vorhanden!). Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und der Blick aus dem Fenster auf das Jungfrau-Gebirge ist schöner als jedes Fernsehprogramm. Kurz: Das Hotel Waldrand und die Natur in der Gegend bieten beste Erholung für Körper und Geist.

Wir wurden jetzt das zweite Mal in diesem Restaurant völlig unfreundlich und herablassend bedient/ behandelt. Nie wieder...

Wonderful stay at Hotel-Restaurant Wardland! Karin and Markus are great hosts, and they assisted us in all the information we required in enjoying Isenfluh. We enjoyed the meals, and the attentiveness to our entire stay.We had a tremendous time snow sledding down the mountain. The views are just spectacular. I look forward in coming back and wringing the Swiss Cow Bells to treat guests for a drink!

Mit einem reichhaltigen Frühstück wurden wir morgens schon begrüßt. Abends war es angenehm im "Restaurant Waldrand" nach einem Wandertag bei geschmackvollem Essen mit gutem Wein den Tag ausklingen zu lassen. Die Speisekarte bietet für jeden Gast etwas und der Koch versteht sein Handwerk. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und die Speisen werden immer frisch zubereitet und die Zutaten kommen größtenteils aus der Region. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Ein toller Ort zum Anfang oder Ende Ihrer Wanderung. Ein freundliches Personal, dass sogar einige Wandervorschläge. Das Essen und die Aussicht waren sagenhaft.

Sympathique restaurant perché dans le village d Isenfluh. Accueil attentionné et chaleureux. Le rösti d'André vaut le détour ! Que du positif si on ajoute une vue magique sur les montagnes de la région !

Wir haben uns am Nachmittag mit Pommes Frites und Burgern den Hunger gestillt. Die Pommes überzeugten durch den Geschmack und die knusprige Konsistenz. Die Burger haben uns durch die Vielfalt an Zutaten und der Sauce zu Fans gemacht. Sehr lecker. Am Abend haben meine Mutter, mein Bruder und ich einen gemischten Salat zur Vorspeise gewählt. Mein anderer Bruder hatte eine Kartoffelsuppe. Der Salat erfüllte all unsere Erwartungen und war durch die verschiedenen Saucen abwechslungsreich. Die Suppe schmeckte meinem Bruder sehr gut. Der Hauptgang, Gemüsespätzli und Schnitzel mit Pommes Frites war ebenfalls sehr lecker.

Leckeres Essen und freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service mit einer grandiosen Sicht auf die Bergwelt - komme bestimmt wieder.

Isenfluh und das Hotel-Restaurant Waldrand mit ihren neuen Geranten Karin und Markus und deren Team sind für alle Naturliebende und die Ruhe Suchende ein absolutes Muss.Schon allein die Anreise ab dem Lauterbrunnental ist ein Ausflug zum Waldrand wert.Die Hotelzimmer sind zwar "vintage", aber sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Essen gut bürgerlich und ausgezeichnet zubereitet.Wir haben die beiden Tage sehr genossen und danken dem Wirtepaar.

Wir haben an Sylvester ein super feines Schweinsfilet gegessen, gefeiert und blieben schlafen. Sehr zu empfehlen, es hat keine Touristen und die Sicht auf Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau ist gigantisch! Die Bewohner von Isenfluh haben das neue Jahr mit Glocken eingeläutet. Schön so eine Tradition miterleben zu dürfen...

The Jungfrau Region is truly beautiful but all of the major locations are just so busy with tourists - Wengen, Kleine Scheidegg, Grindelwald, Pfingstegg etc. Do yourself a favour and escape to Isenfluh and this wonderful restaurant - experience a lovely lunch, outside on their terrace in the serene, peaceful and picturesque hamlet high above Lauterbrunnen with direct views across to Wengen on the other side of the valley - just what we were searching for!Ok, this is only the third review and the previous reviewer has clearly had a rotten experience in 2014. But we can confirm that our visit in August 2015 was lovely. The Waldrand is the only restaurant in this tiny farming hamlet of Isenfluh, accessible only by car through an amazing circular tunnel which actually doubles back over itself (according to our SatNav) and a series of switchback hairpin bends. Or there's an infrequent Postbus. And that's the unique nature of Isenfluh - it's peaceful and far, far away from the big tourist bus groups (the buses won't make it through the tunnel)!Park in the little car park (modest fee, cash only) or in the restaurant's own car park if that's the sole purpose of your visit. Enjoy a stroll before visiting the restaurant and spending 1-2hrs for lunch. The menu is decent, prices slightly lower than the usual syndicate pricing across the rest of the valley and the quality is good. This appears to be a husband & wife operation. I don't think they speak extensive English but it doesn't matter - our broken German was good enough and I think they appreciated our efforts (and we got what we ordered!). Remember that away from the busy tourist traps the staff may be a little less 'sassy' but they are warm and friendly in a sincere, authentic way.We had one of the best Rosti ever! And we tried a good number on this holiday. The terrace is good, toilets very clean and the best bit.......the Chef (I think it's the Husband) brings your dishes out to you in his full Chef outfit (see picture). And, you know what, he cares about his business and is keen to demonstrate that - I like that!In some ways this was better than many of the other restaurants we visited in the Jungfrai Region. Yes, others are more upmarket, have a more extensive menu or perhaps more dramatic views from their outside terraces. But when we visited The Waldrand on a sunny Thursday afternoon we discovered some Swiss charm just the way we imagined it really should be. And there was a good vibe about the place and the few visitors too.As an aside, you could make this part of a day trip for your hiking. There's a quaint cable car in Isenfluh, take it to the top station, do some walking and then stop at the Waldruind for some well earned recovery food & drinks.Not high cuisine, not cosmopolitan and not busy - but really quite special. Try it if you have a car to get there and fancy escaping from the crowd - the perfect antidote after a trip to the Jungfrau on a busy sunny day!Recommended by us and we loved it. Going back for sure!

Nach einem langen Tag der Wandern mit der Familie und uns dann am Waldrand (08Aug14) für ein paar Drinks und vielleicht Eis. Wir waren komplett von der Kellnerin, für keinen Grund ignoriert. Wir sind nach 15 Minuten wieder abgereist, ohne dass ein Getränk hatte.

Dieses Hotel ist ziemlich abgelegen, aber wenn Sie in der Gegend sind, gehen Sie wandern bis zu Isenfluh für ein Bier und ein paar Rösti probieren. Wir kamen um 15 Uhr an und der Eigentümer warteten auf/Koch. Das Rösti war das beste, das wir in der Schweiz hatten. Hinweis: dieses Hotel nimmt keine Kreditkarten.
