Zic Zac, menú in Allschwil

A good place to go. The food was beautifully prepared and plentiful. The selection of food is very good. Even adapted to the season. We made egg cupcakes with the colorful Easter eggs. The pink egg won. I put a little on the plate with each round. But there was almost no more dessert left. My stomach filled with all the delicious things. Next time I'll start with dessert.

Unfortunately I didn't take a photo - but the garlic bread as a starter & the well-seasoned tomato soup were "a hit"!!

We like to come to Zic Zac often. Be it for brunch or dinner. I can happily recommend it.

Mean staff, waitress was so rude! Service soooo slow, for 2 burgers we waited 45 minutes, plus 25 for dessert, burgers are so dryyyy and tasteless…. Everything is so expensive, even for Switzerland, I won’t come anymore here is a trap…

Restaurant with a cool atmosphere. A little loud at times, but it fits there. Friendly service. The fondue Chinoise a discretion was very good. The only thing we were missing was a few mixed pickles... we ordered the wine accompaniment (Primitivo). There are only a few parking spaces in the yard. It is better to go there by public transport (6 or 36).

Cheeseburger was really bad, dry bun, white tasteless cheese slices and the meat was bad, the only good thing was the tomato slice. Sorry, but never again and shouldn't exist in this form. 😔

I think ZicZac is a very good restaurant. Nice people work in service. I think the ambience is outstanding. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable but not bad either. :) The food is a bit more expensive than other restaurants, but it's worth it because the portions are really big (especially the burgers). Parking available.

Went to the New Year's Eve buffet yesterday. The selection was ok, there could have been more starters. Burger meat was quite strange, ragout meat was quite hard at times and fried potatoes weren't really cooked.

Was there on New Year's Day, would have expected a little more, the food was ok enough to choose from. The service had no overview of so many people. And there was nothing but music. At 2 the hall was empty

We went to brunch again today. The staff hardly speaks German. At 45 chf the buffet is completely overpriced. The hot dishes are rubbish. Fried eggs were cold. Roast beef was very tasty. We probably won't go there again, there are better and cheaper alternatives in Basel. As an absolute exception, I didn't give a tip. The service made an effort, but it doesn't help if you don't speak German.

Beautiful place with typical Swiss cuisine

I spent Christmas here with my family on December 24th, 2023. We ordered fondue à discretion. It was super tasty, especially the homemade sauces, the bread and the side dishes of fries and rice went well with the fine beef and chicken. If something was empty, it was delivered immediately. Our service employee, who has been part of the inventory since memory, was in a good mood, always attentive and ready to have a joke. Highly recommended, keep it up!

The quality of the meat used for the Fondue Chinoise is very good. All in all, this fondue, the sauces and the side dish are recommended. What we always notice is the great service. Everyone in service is in a good mood and you just feel comfortable at Zic Zac. We'd love to come back again and again. Highly Recommended.

The food left a lot to be desired. I ordered a small portion of fish crispy, then got a larger portion of fish, but didn't get any fries!! My nephew's salad was dressed with an oil sauce. The last one for Christmas Eve!

The food was great. Service very nice. We had one, this was her first day. She did great. The ambience is also great, always a pleasure! If you want to escape from everyday life, you're in great hands here!

I really enjoyed the brunch and it tasted good too

The food was quite good years ago. Now it's average to slightly below: lukewarm and the pulled pork had an unusually moist, almost wet consistency. It's not worth reserving a table in the small hall, as the round tables are too small for two people to eat comfortably. The service was friendly, helpful and looked after us very well.

It was a nice time in the zic zac during the Champions League of the 2000s. Enjoyed it on Sunday. The food was very tasty and friendly.

Egg whites in the boiled eggs were almost raw (everything ran clear and slimy across the plate when cracked) can happen. When returning it the lady said "It has to be like this"... 🤢 Plates were dirty, put 3 aside until I got a clean one. There were so many guests that the tables were so narrow that you could barely walk through on one side and not at all on the other. But the young server was very polite and accommodating.

Ordered a cheese burger today. Unfortunately the cheese was forgotten. The whole thing would have been handled listlessly and without passion. All this for 20.-!!! Totally over the top for a tasteless meal. That was the last time! Thanks.

Our recent company dinner at this restaurant was an absolute disaster. Not only was the buffet unappetizing and unloving, the next day I had an unpleasant encounter with the toilet bowl (greetings from food poisoning). There was almost no choice for vegetarians, which is unacceptable in this day and age. My dishes at the table were dirty, which in my case was an absolute no-go and even the dishes that were replaced still had flaws. There were also spelling errors on the card, which indicates a lack of care. The ambience is reminiscent of a shabby, worn-out wannabe American diner and is definitely not an appropriate restaurant for a company dinner. I also find the stated price ratio to be more than exaggerated and unmeasured, as it bears no relation to the ratio of quality. The only positive thing was the fast service, but that can't make up for the negative points listed. I definitely can't recommend this restaurant for corporate events or general visits and it's unclear to me how all the "positive" reviews come about. There are certainly better options in the area.

Never again! We went for lunch today because we had had a good meal there before. After a long time we were looking forward to the rather expensive meal. Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time. When our food came, I saw that it wasn't what I ordered. My husband had a Ceeburger without cheese🤷‍♀️so we immediately told the waitress that that wasn't the food we had ordered. Not happy, she took both plates with her. My husband got the cheese and the kitchen only added tomatoes and zucchini to my burger. Onions stayed on. In the meantime, the fries were cold and unfortunately they smelled of old oil. The salad was old, couldn't eat it. No apology, plate was returned almost full, unfortunately I just asked, was everything ok? I said I couldn't eat that. No reaction. We paid full price! Never again, not recommended. It's a shame, it used to be really great there.

An astonishing place with several atmospheres. The food is good and the staff attentive, I recommend!

We went 2 times now and it was exactly what you expect! The atmosphere is awesome and the food is excellent! My partner is Swiss and he insisted we come here for me to try the food! (I am from the US) This food is so much better than what I have had in the States. We will come back again!

Was here for a company Christmas party. The location was great, but unfortunately that was it. Really good service at the beginning, maybe a little too pushy. When there was a buffet there was virtually nothing to be seen from the service. This was limited to clearing the plates. Food was so-so, mostly chilli or other more strongly spiced selections, which unfortunately isn't for me. At least the glass noodle salad was delicious. Ground beef burger is absolutely miserable (bun and patty probably bought, patty possibly frozen???) a small splash of ketchup and 3 mini shreds of lettuce). Even the simplest McDonald's hamburger has better toppings, even if it's smaller. As an apology, I would like to add that I don't know how much debt was incurred by the organizers of the Christmas party (perhaps Hot & Spicy was requested as a default for the buffet). The bottom line for me is: Thank you, but not again.

I have rarely eaten such bad food. I was at the Christmas party and the burger I ate there was scandalous. The meat was like a dry cardboard box. I don't understand these 4 stars. So the quality of the food is simply a no go. I will never go there again and will not recommend it to anyone!

Service (Michel) was great as always. We were there for the third time this year and the food was always lukewarm and the fries were soggy. Don't go anymore. The great kitchen doesn't seem to exist anymore.

The classic. I have been coming here for more than 25 years. For lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. The staff is always friendly and uncomplicated, children are welcome, the food is delicious and the portions are very large (quick). Always my pleasure!

Service very courteous and friendly. But if you like authentic “real burgers” you are unfortunately completely out of place here! Maybe the chef had a bad day, or there was no one there!

An institution in Allschwil. I was at ZicZac very often and was never dissatisfied. The burgers are big, juicy and always fresh. There are always fries and a salad. The staff is professional and very accommodating. Price performance is absolutely recommended.

Were there for a café and sweets in the afternoon. Was (normally) good and decoded with fruit. Great service, fast and very friendly! Unfortunately only the large ‘hall’ was open and very deserted at this time. The smaller restaurant with a more 'private' atmosphere was closed. Still recommended, but more for lunch or dinner. Tip: Great brunch on Sunday!

If you like American restaurants, this is the place for you. You have to like the atmosphere of a train station hall. Recommended in a group

Oktoberfest🍺 Good atmosphere, good food, service not the fastest despite there being few people

This past Sunday, we went out for a snack in the afternoon and witnessed something pretty wild. There was this blonde waitress who shamelessly scratched her bottom with her whole hand inside her pants, as if it was no big deal. And guess what? After that, she grabbed the payment terminal with that very hand. As if that wasn't bad enough, she also messed up our bill when tipping. Nice service. Enjoy your food.

The burger was really ugly and I had a stomach ache immediately after I ate it. The bread was really dry and the meat was inedible.

I have no idea why people complain about the wait to get a table when the conditions aren't there right away or it takes too long to get your food. Hello, the Zic Zac is well attended at peak times and is full. So now when it comes to eating at brunch or on the menu, tastes are different, the food has always been good, the staff is friendly. We have been going there regularly for 4 years and I am therefore convinced that I am giving a correct opinion. People who have only been there once or twice should better keep their opinion to themselves because it is not the decisive factor but only spreads a wrong image. I can therefore recommend the Zic Zac without any problems.

On Sundays, a "brunch" is organized here, it is possible to organize private and company parties here. Smaller parking lot in the area for restaurant guests.

The worst cheeseburger ever. I can't recommend Zic Zac at all.

I went to the buffet and sat outside because there was no capacity inside, but I would have preferred it because it was very hot. The buffet was extensive with lots of variety. Everything was exquisite except the salad (lettuce) which didn't look fresh or taste good. But overall I recommend it, I think the price is worth it.

The Sunday brunch was okay, unfortunately you noticed that a lot of it wasn't fresh/homemade. The background noise was extreme, which is due to the family friendliness. The ambience is nice, but it gets quite stuffy inside in summer. Recommended for families, but not for people who want to enjoy a cozy brunch and value quality.

We had a few after-work dinner parties during the summer in the garden. Plenty of shade, and sufficient seating area. We reserved our table but if you're visiting in small groups, at least on a weekday evening, you might find a place. The service was quick, and the food was quite tasty and plentiful. We had various burgers and salads, and everybody seemed happy with their choice, so I would recommend anything from the menu.

There were two of us in the really beautiful garden. The service was super nice and very prompt. Clear 5 stars from us. Now unfortunately for the criticism: The burgers were big but to be honest they were just average. For a restaurant that specializes in burgers, I would have expected a little more and in terms of feelings they were better on my last visit a few months ago. In total CHF 90.00 (rounded up with tip, I don't remember the exact amount 83.00 or so) paid for 2 burgers, 1 dessert, 2 cokes and a coffee. This is also at the upper limit of pain, unless the burgers are really super special. Nevertheless, thanks to my previous experience, 4 stars from us.

Went for Sunday brunch. Unfortunately the food was a total disappointment. We have been going to ZicZac for brunch once a year for 7 years. From time to time it got worse and worse. Unfortunately, the disappointment reached its peak yesterday. The croissants were from the day before yesterday and felt totally dry and old. The rolls were no longer fresh either. Lätta was divorced and looked as if they had been in the sun or in the warm for too long. Haven opened 5 Lättas and it was like that for all of them! We didn't dare eat one and so we used the butter. That was fine. All finished products, which were of the cheapest price range in terms of quality. Apple juice is labeled apple juice, but according to our taste it also has pear juice in it. Orange juice, was bitter and didn't have much flavor, it looked tastier and fresher than it was. We didn't even try the desserts, they looked so cheap and like ready-made products. Watermelon was super tasty. The other melon was not yet ripe, had no taste and was too hard. The only thing that was delicious were the coffees, whether espresso, cappucchino or latte macchiatto. The coffee was super tasty and tasty! The service was also very friendly and helpful. All in all it was our last visit and very disappointing and not worth the price at all! Brunch's best days are long behind it. A pity! Price-performance wasn't right at all.

Beautiful! The outside looks like a beer garden. Diverse menu with very good dishes. The portions are very large! Really really good!

Good salad dressing. Unfortunately, Angusburger smelled like sheep meat ("crunchy"). Service nice and quick. Gardening under shady trees. Interior dingy and outdated.

The staff was friendly and attentive!!👍 Price performance, well... - For 1L of water 12.50Fr. it's way too expensive, sorry it doesn't work for water!! - Egliknusperli served with French fries and tartare dip = 28 Fr. (Knusperli are good and recommended, but fries weren't good at all and really only a small portion). - If you just order "fish crispy with tartar dip for 17.50Fr. and a portion of fries for 6.50Fr. Separately you can get cheaper and you have significantly more fries 🍟😅 Makes no sense to me and the service staff didn't have an answer either. 🤔

Disappointing experience at Zic Zac Allschwil Hello Zic Zac team, I would like to tell you about my extremely disappointing experience in your restaurant. Unfortunately I have to say that the service and conditions during my visit were far below my expectations. First of all, I was very upset about the long wait of over 40 minutes for my ordered food. It is unacceptable that customers have to endure such long waiting times. When I complained, I received an extremely unfriendly response from the staff that I had to wait like other customers. I was very disappointed by this reaction and found it extremely unprofessional. Furthermore, the room temperature inside the restaurant was unbearable. It felt like a sauna and there was no effort on the part of the staff to adequately ventilate the premises or ensure that the air conditioning worked. These circumstances further disrupted my visit and had a major negative impact on the overall experience. I have to honestly say that this is the worst service I have experienced so far. As a paying customer, I expect at least a certain level of attention and friendly treatment. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in this regard at Zic Zac Allschwil. I hope that you will take my feedback seriously and take appropriate measures to avoid such unpleasant experiences in the future. As a guest, you should feel comfortable and well looked after in your restaurant. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case during my visit.

We waited far too long for the food (1.30 hours) and the drinks didn't come either! We also waited a long time for someone to serve us. Don't come back!!!

We were there for brunch (CHF 48.00 per person). In the small hall instead of in the large hall as before. Accordingly, a meager selection, carelessly prepared, bad food, bad service (waited half an hour for coffee, 45 minutes for salad). Excessively high price for such a lousy compilation.

We were actually looking forward to our burgers, but that wasn't the case with what we got. The quality of my burger was subpar. The meat was extremely thin and tasteless, the salad had brown edges and it was actually no fun to eat what was served. The toilets smell like a zoo or at least not maintained. All in all, it was my last time there. It's a shame actually.
