1001 Take Away in Zürich

I ate at this place and the sister kebab shop multiple times in a day. Truly fantastic kebabs (I ate 3 in a day) and great service. Cheapest kebabs i found in Zurich, and the highest quality ones also. I’m an American who rarely reviews places, but loved these kebabs so much I had to leave one. If you want a kebab in Zurich, come to 1001

I have never eaten such a bad kebab box before. The fries were undercooked, the vegetables were at the bottom, the meat was cold and there was too much sauce - it was more like soup. Onions were also included even though I ordered without. This was extremely disappointing as I usually always order the flatbread which has always been good. The service also left a lot to be desired; three people who were in line after me were served first, and when it was finally my turn, I was treated rudely and stressed. Maybe it's due to the staff working at lunchtime on Saturdays. Due to this experience, I can unfortunately no longer recommend this take-away. Very unfortunate.

Yes, I know: Zurich costs. Unfortunately, the food doesn't justify the price in any way. I had a Dürüm that wasn't particularly big. The taste was average. The decor in this store is also not inviting. I cannot recommend this store.

10 mins walk from Zurich HB. Located in the old town. Nearest Halal Muslim restaurant we could find to Zurich HB station. The food was quite ok and with reasonable price. Staff service was fair and friendly.

Extremely over priced with no taste and very ordinary food. She charged me €4.50 for a €0.95 bottle ot water. Also charged me €21 for kebab which everywhere else in Zurich is around €10-12. Not recommended. A rip off.

I recently had a chance to try out 1001 Take Away in Zurich, and boy, was I let down. I have to be honest here - the food was downright terrible. From the moment it arrived, I could tell something was off. You know what really got to me? Seeing the staff casually popping our meals into the microwave. I mean, seriously? When I order take-out, I expect a bit more care and effort put into the cooking process. It left me questioning the freshness and overall quality of what I was about to eat. And let's talk about the menu. The tantalizing images and descriptions had me salivating like crazy. But what arrived at my doorstep was a far cry from what was promised. The food looked sad and unappetizing. And don't get me started on the taste - it was just wrong. It felt like I was eating leftovers that had been sitting in the fridge for days. Not exactly what I had in mind. When it comes to a take-away joint, consistency is key. Sadly, 1001 Take Away Zurich failed miserably in that department. I was left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this culinary letdown.

Hands down the best falafel in Zürich. The people there (50-yo something man and what I suppose is his daughter) are genuinely nice too. Also prices are great, with a normal/spinach falafel in flat/taschen brot for chf12.-

8 francs per portion of fries, which was really average! Muslim restaurant but which sells alcohol. Two stars because the cook was quite nice.

Cocktail sauce not very fine, and tomato not good either. Overall not a good kebab for 12.-

Kebab was very good, but I also asked that it stay in the oven for a particularly long time and become crispier than normal... probably one of the last opportunities to eat at night, often until 1 a.m. or even 2 a.m Kebab + beer equals 17 francs

Great Döner for a fair price. No good seating options.

Ordered a menu, expensive and tastes like nothing. Paid around 20 euros and the quality can still be improved at the front and back.

I LOVE this place, so much so we had it for lunch and went back for dinner!!! The fries are freshly deep fried and sprinkled with magical herbs that are delicious. We live in Paris and frites only come with frites sauce so this was such a yummy surprise. The kebabs were generously filled and really tasty. The lady asked if I wanted mine spicy and I love spicy. She added spicy sauce and then asked if I wanted chilli flakes as well. I did, it was great!

Very good food, and the price-to-food ratio is very good, the chicken tortilla is large and tasty. It's worth visiting if you want to eat quickly in the city.

not professionally called 12 times not once answered first and last order attempt

I was staying in a hotel around the area and I always saw people eating here well into the late night (10-11PM sometimes even at 12AM) and decided that I needed to try it since it was so popular. It did not disappoint! I only speak Spanish and English so I was not able to communicate much with the chef and the staff but I used google translate to figure out the menu and the pointed at what I wanted. Its been two months and Im still dreaming about the sandwich I had. It was so delicious. I let them put all the toppings and also like a red hot sauce and white sauce they recommended. I let the chef decide and it came out delicious. I am trying to find if there is a Turkish place near me in NYC where I can have this sandwich/toppings/sauces again. Hopefully I can go back to Zurich soon and visit them again.
