La Taquería in Zürich

I've been here only twice. Once in the summer outside for lunch and recently with my 9 year old daughter on her birthday (a quiet Sunday). I have enjoyed their food (although I'm not sure whether the paper underneath the food is so that you can pick it up and eat by hand), drinks, ambiance and service. People are nice and the place takes me back to living in NYC where Mexican restaurants were everywhere. I will happily return again.

The most authentic and delicious Mexican food that I’ve have in Europe. So much flavor. The staff is incredible.

I have been searching for good Mexican food since moving from the US to Europe 2 years ago and La Taqueria is hands down the best Mexican food I have had, without a close second. Food was insanely flavorful, great heat on the salsa and the margaritas were incredible. Could not recommend this place enough.

Cool restaurant with (new) two locations. When ordering at the bar you can choose the drinks in the fridge next to it. Lots of Mexican soft drinks and beers. The food was delicious and there was a lot! Price-performance ratio is ok. Service was very nice. Be sure to take a look in the toilet, D. Trump is watching you!

Rather underwhelmed by the food on a busy Thursday night. Large nachos to start were average and not great value for CHF 25. Planted plato was served more or less cold; was a large portion (good value!) but served with three wee tacos that seemed heated and not grilled. Friendly servers and staff but everything seemed rather disorganised. Margarita pitchers are ok but ends up being quite pricey. An average night out for Zürich, unfortunately.

I went for " Tacos thuesday" so you get one free when you buy 3. It was delicious and 4 tacos was enough for me. The taste of the FISH taco was to die for!!!

This is gonna be a long one, so bear with me... At La Taqueria I always have the most delicious tacos, burritos, taquitos, donkey wings, nachos, quesadillas and, surprisingly, chocolate chip cookies. The service is a breath of fresh air comparing with most zurcher services (which typically suck), but even on its own it's a real joy to interact with this lovely team (<3 Carmen). The wide array of cold beer options is the stuff of dreams and if that's not your thing, you also have horchata and jamaica to complement your delish dish. I'm only sorry I haven't been able to try the churros or the pastel 3 leches because I am always SO deliciously full after the main course (and the cookie). I always leave this sanctuary with my belly and my soul full - thank you La Taqueria!! <3

Very cool atmosphere. People are friendly. Price performance is very good. You definitely get enough for a relatively Zurich price. Personally, I was already full enough after the starter. Food tastes very good.

I was at La Taqueria for the second time last weekend and I was completely thrilled again! The food is great. But what really sets this restaurant apart is the first-class service. The staff was friendly, attentive and always tried hard! I'm looking forward to coming back next time!

Seeing the prices I was expecting a little more. Overall the food is good! tacos were better than the taquitos. Drinks are too expensive. It has been a bit strange not receive and show the bill, this is not usual in CH.

Absolutely awesome restaurant, the best Tex-Mex restaurant in town! Bonus: any of their waiters can even take your order in Spanish. Special recommendation: their taquitos.

The food was great. We ate over lunch, so we didn't have a ton of time. However, the food came very quickly. A reservation is recommended.

It was my first time in the restaurant and I received a very warm welcome. The food was also great and the staff was very friendly.

I cannot say about the food, but the service is horrible. We arrived when the restaurant was 2/3 empty and were told that there was no space… This was the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in a long time.

Nice place with good atmosphere but the food is not great, lots of noise and weird smells - the service is not perfect at all, rude people, not helpful and doing constant mistakes with ordering.

Had a great time at the Mexican restaurant! The service staff was extremely courteous and friendly. The atmosphere literally transported me to Mexico. The food was just amazing – I love it!

The worst experience of my life! The Latin gentlemen at the front desk denied for my wife and I to sit down and eat because we didn’t have a reservation and there were 7 tables open. We order food to go and while waiting, 2 ladies walk in (Swiss origin) and they were allowed to sit down without a reservation. When I asked the Latin worker if they had a reservation, he confirmed they did. I walked up to the ladies and asked in English if they had a reservation and they confirmed that they didn’t have a reservation. It’s crazy how my wife and I being a Latin couple get discriminated by a Latin person who refused to allow us to sit down. The business practice and racism in this place is shameful! The Latin gentlemen treated us very short and despised us during the entire interaction!! This incident happened on December 20th at 6:50PM.

Wonderful experience! We arrived on a Sunday and everything was reserved but they made room for us at a table for two. We were surprised by the large number of beers they have at the entrance! We drank Dosequis lager and pacific. The place with a very authentic decoration, a place with a lot of vibes. They took our orders right away and the food arrived even faster. Four tacos of shrimp, chicken, fish and vegetables. To each one better! We also ordered a quesadilla, which was very good but next time we will go for more tacos because they are wild! We were a little hungry, so they recommended the nachos with cheese. Fantastic, great choice. We were so full that we didn't leave room for dessert, we will definitely come back to try it 😁

Everything perfect, the only thing was an order served with coriander even if it was asked to be removed and the plates where taken away with still food in them and without asking if it was over

The weekend experience at La Taqueria was thoroughly outstanding. Service was still first class on this busy evening - the staff were efficient, attentive and ensured my visit was pleasant despite the crowds. La Taqueria has once again proven that excellent service is an integral part of its gastronomic offer.

I had an outstanding experience at the Mexican restaurant. The service was top-notch, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the ambiance added to the overall enjoyment. I have no complaints and highly recommend it!

When eating at a restaurant, especially if it is not busy, it is reasonable to expect quick service. It's very frustrating to sit down and then be ignored for 10 minutes only to see other tables that came later get served first. This type of service seems very rude. I was so disappointed that I left because no one came to take my order.

I want to start the review by apologizing to the kitchen because the food was quite good but unfortunately poor service can take away your appetite. I write the review so that the superiors can read it and do something because I am a waitress and at least one is letting you down. We came from Biel to eat to put it in context, there are 3 of us, my husband, our 1-year-old baby and me. I started politely by greeting the waiter and asking for a table for 3, two adults and a baby. At first it was fine because I spoke in German but when I realized that he was Latin I started to speak in Spanish and his attitude changed completely. He told me that he would give us a table for two, that we should hold the child in our arms and that we should leave the stroller/stroller in front because he didn't have space to put it because there was a big dog next to it. I looked at the place and there were several free tables, including the large one that you usually seat people to share... but well, since it was 3 o'clock and Sunday we decided to stay, however he finished by telling us that if not "well, takeout" I told him that we couldn't. because we come from Biel!! He sat us down and after a while he realized that I had noticed that the big table was free and offered it to me. We moved. They came to take our order (another very friendly guy) we were not ready because we had to change and tie the baby's chair, however we ordered the drinks. Then he himself, who had treated us as if he were doing us a favor and not giving us a service, told us that we could order at the bar whenever we wanted and obviously when it came time to pay we also had to go to the bar or suitcase... Anyway, guys!! It was not full when there is stress I can understand depending on what you deal with but it seemed to me that you had little desire to work and I thought a lot about writing but the derogatory looks, the tone with which you speak to people do not seem to me like someone who wants to work in service look for yourself something in Zara or something like that, seriously, and what's more, it made me so uncomfortable that I even went closer to see his name, his name is MEMO. And it's a shame that it hurts the team. Greetings and we will return, let us know when he doesn't have a turn, yes!!

Tex-Mex. Anyone who likes it should treat themselves. It's not my favorite cuisine.

The chicken wings were delicious, but the mains(tacos and burritos) were rather ordinary, the meat was either burnt or lacked much flavor.

Very authentic Mexican food. Could have done with a spicier sauce, but that's a taste preference. Burrito was huge.

Great authentic mexican food. If you visit la taqueria I recommend trying out the Tacos. I personally also had the Plato con Pollo that was realy good. Prices are very fair for what you get

Great food, nice vibe friendly service.

Had various tacos, unfortunately they all tasted pretty bland. With the chicken taco, the flavor only came from the mayo. The fish taco (Baja style) was the best in my opinion. The pulled taco, aside from all the salt, didn't have much flavor. The three sauces didn't really help. Unfortunately, these didn't add much apart from a bit of sharpness. In my opinion, the corn tortillas were not freshly made, which I can't understand in a taqueria :( The churros were super tasty :)

Really enjoyed the experience at La Taqueria, a lot of different authentic Mexican dishes, friendly staff and fast service for lunch. The decor of the restaurant is a one way ticket to Mexico. One of my favorite restaurant of Zurich, prices are average.

Very generous portions of meat in the tacos. Tacos are single tortillas, not double. They come with a guacamole sauce, if you want them plain, then be sure to say completely plain.

Very tasty tacos and other authentic dishes, homemade sauces and a large selection of Mexican beers (as well as mescal and tequila 😉). Gladly again.

We couldnt make a reservation and they didnt pick up the phone..when we arrived they closed the backyard and we had to eat in front of the main road on a tiny table...

Fantastic food and friendly service--for my birthday they also went the extra mile. A mariachi band also stopped by--definitely reasons to make one smile. :-)

Good Mexican food. Tacos are really good. The fish taco was really nice. The Azteca soup and the wings were also nice. The environment is quite good for a chill dinner eating out.

I lived in Southern Arizona for over 20 years and I rarely find good, authentic Mexican food anywhere else. Most times it's more of a tex-mex flavor, which isn't necessarily bad, it's just not the same. I read the "About" page on their website and saw they were from San Diego and I saw mention of Tijuana so I knew I wanted to give them a try. I'm really glad I did because it was delicious! I had 2 carne asada and carnita tacos. The meats were cooked perfectly and were incredibly juicy, the corn tortillas stayed together while eating and the sauces were really flavorful. The salsas were a little watery, but they still tasted really good. The verde was my favorite but the chipotle was a close second. If you're looking for something different and want to feel like you're on the other side of the world, definitely check this place out. You'll be transported to Mexico not only in the environment but the food too! *update* visiting Zurich again 2 years later and I have been back in to eat twice now! The tacos, salsas, and cerveza are all delicious! This will continue to be a regular stop anytime I am back in Zurich!

Great atmosphere, especially the terrace is very nicely and comfortably furnished. Very nice service and the food came pretty quickly. However, I don't think the price-performance ratio is entirely fair. A starter, two main courses and two soft drinks cost a total of 77 francs - but the food wasn't really convincing. The starter was extremely greasy and it made me feel a bit sick the evening after. The burrito was tasty, but nothing special. You couldn't taste much of the quesadillas other than the corn tortillas.

An average place with ok tasting Mexican food. Nothing special about the atmosphere, inside especially (it's garden is nicer but small), and service is not great. But they have Modelo, Dos Equis, and other Mexican beers 🤪

I never expected that when I came to Zurich I would find such an authentic Mexican restaurant. I loved it and the food is almost the same as in Mexico. I congratulate you. Keep it up.

One of the best Mexican tacos I've had near Zürich, very large menu with a lot of vegetarian options! They have horchata which was delicious, I also recommend the watermelon drink they had.

This place is a fun, casual spot for some good Mexican food. If you’re looking for something casual, this is the place! The only criticism I have is for one of the staff members who is there most of the time. Not sure if he is a manager or the owner, but he is always in an awful mood and is unbelievably rude to us every time we see him there. If anyone from La Taqueria is reading this: you probably know who I’m talking about! Does not even give you the printed receipt when you pay, he just shoves the card machine in your face with some obscure number. He needs an attitude adjustment and needs to start treating his customers with some hospitality and friendliness! Such a negative a-hole every time we come in.

Went there for the first time spontaneously on a Saturday shortly before 10 o'clock in the evening. The tables outside were still full, inside it was half empty. We found the food good but a bit bland. The staff at the checkout were quite unfriendly, stressed us out and treated us like we were just being a nuisance. That spoiled the whole atmosphere for us.

I had a rather unfortunate experience at this Mexican restaurant in Zurich. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it to anyone with allergies or a dislike for coriander. The menu seemed promising, but I realized that practically every dish contained coriander. I inquired with the waitress if it would be possible to have a meal without coriander, and she initially assured me it could be done. However, upon receiving my order, she informed me that they couldn't fulfill the request. This left me unable to enjoy any of the dishes three dishes that we ordered, as the herb was pervasive. It's disappointing when a restaurant is unable to accommodate dietary needs or preferences, and it significantly impacted my experience. The atmosphere is good but they don’t have AC. That means that in a hot day, inside the restaurant is even worse.

I love this place. Food was amazing. The service were so polite, kind and they could communicate with us in English. We had a birthday lunch there and they surprised us with little cake & mexican hat.

We dined in without a reservation. Friendly waitress provided English menus quickly and took our order swiftly. Food was ready fairly quickly and extra hot sauce was offered. Nachos and tacos were great. Prices were steep but guess that’s Switzerland for you.

It took more than 45 minutes to serve me 4 tacos al Pastor, they were bathed in grease that ran through my hands when I ate them and they hurt me a lot after a couple of hours… The bill was excessive for what my wife and I consumed… I wouldn't recommend the place at all 👎🏼

During our visit to Zurich we went to this great Mexican restaurant and had delicious burritos. Both versions (with meat/vegetarian) tasted phenomenal and the atmosphere in the restaurant in the afternoon was very pleasant (music, decor, service). There is also a large selection of Mexican beers and soft drinks! We only walked 10-15 minutes to get here from the city center. We look forward to the next opportunity to eat here again!

Super good food. I want to come back. Maybe the waiters should be more focus. They took 30min to first come to us. But the food was good enough to come back.

Authentically prepared Mexican street food in a relaxed atmosphere. The aftertaste of the products picked me up even 1 hour after eating... Highly recommend the tacos made from original corn flour for 6.90 francs each (very generously filled, however). I was able to enjoy 3 different ones and was completely thrilled! The sauces could use a little more finesse. Always full, small outdoor area with small tables in front of the restaurant on the street. Overall, the restaurant has a lot of charm.

Atmospheric Mexican restaurant with tasty food, friendly service and a wide choice of beer. The terrace at the back in particular was cozy and nicely decorated. The menu has a nice variety of burritos and quesadillas. The staff speaks good English. A tip for improvement is to offer more non-alcoholic beers

Uncomplicated, tasy tacos and nachos with Mexican beers

People working there are very friendly and kind. The girl walked us through the catalog to recommend something not that spicy. Generally, nothing is really spicy like the real Latin food, in Germany and Switzerland. Food was very tasty, the enchiladas were sooooo good. We also ordered the soup. Perfect!!!! And my margarita had great amount of alcohol inside!!! It's been long time since I had a cocktail with normal amount of alcohol! I would go again! I will go again!

We have been coming here for years, but....I think the Chef is on holidays or the owner has changed. Chanquetas were soggy at the bottom with almost no cheese. Burritos were cold inside and burned outside with almost no cheese. We had to send it back and felt to imbaresed to complain for a second time about the burned Burritos. And to top it all off they charged us CHF2 more for my Marguarita just because I ordered it without ice because I have sensitive teeth, without pre-informing us about the price difference. After all these years of supporting them...this is the thankx..???

You feel like back in Mexico with authentic tacos except for the prices, but the taste says it all. I don't like onion or cilantro so was happy they omitted them.
