Magnificent service and great value for money. The food was very good, we ordered a fried food, pizza and tiramisu. Perfect and highly recommended.

Very cosy place excellent food and service.

It was a birthday lunch. The food was great, particularly the succulent sole meuniere and flavourful fusili with calamari and tomatoes. Service was excellent, with good presentation of the food. One of the staff, Mr Liri, skilfully and patiently filleted the sole fish at our table. Highly recommended to people visiting the town of Montreux.

The first time I came to the restaurant, I really liked everything, but when I made the second visit, I was sent back to a table in a place with a lot of noise, right next to the kitchen area. I didn't find anything I liked from the menu, I told the waiter that I don't eat as a mother and I was sorry. The look I got is indescribable. He mumbled something to himself and I left. Lots of smoke, due to the outdoor stove which caught fire, otherwise the burger was better than the lasagna.

I really loved this restaurant. We came with our dog, and straight away they brought us a bowl of water. I took the sea bass fillet. A well-crafted plate, lots of taste, flavor, you can feel the passion in the kitchen. I loved the atmosphere, rather relaxed but with a lot of elegance. Thank you again and see you soon. ✨

Food was good, service was shocking. There was no occasion (for us, or anyone around us) the staff in our area heard a request and fulfilled it without fuss. Always a point and “I’m busy, I’ll be back”, as if every customer was an inconvenience. This is for even the most simple requests, like for salt & pepper or a knife. I don’t think they could handle the busy period, it was easily 20 minutes before receiving menus, even longer to order. Near impossible to get attention/service throughout. The complaints I heard from tables around us were met with argument from staff - so unaccommodating. A real shame as the food & drink & location is all good.

When we arrive we are put at a table by a waiter. We wait 10 minutes and a waiter takes the order for a table that arrives after us. And when you give the cards to customers we start with the ladies, we teach you this in school. No welcome for me to run away

Yesterday me and my friends went to this restaurant. My sister had reserved the restaurant for 6:30 p.m. to celebrate her birthday. We arrived and were made to wait outside for at least 10 minutes. When we returned the waiter didn't really welcome us, he just showed us to our table. We sat down and waited 10-15 minutes before a waitress came to take our drink orders, at which point the waitress was impatient and rushed us to choose our drinks. Then the time came to order our dishes, our dishes arrived 20 minutes later, on top of that a hair was in the pizza of one of my friends. And every time a staff came to our table we were told “at 8:30 p.m. you have to go out” even though we had not been told anything when making a reservation. We ate and were asked when we were going to leave even though we hadn't ordered dessert. Our dessert then ordered, they sang happy birthday in a forced and unpleasant tone and told us to quickly eat our desserts and go out. We then complained to the manager and he didn't give us time to speak. He was so disrespectful, he cut us off, shouted in our ears. Then another waiter came and told us that we had been warned when booking that at 8:30 p.m. we had to leave, which was false. He told us he had the recordings when we asked to see the recordings he wouldn't show them to us. The service was horrible, we were looked down upon just because we were young girls and I find it shameful of them to argue with young adults and minors, my sister's birthday was ruined. If you are looking for a restaurant in Montreux do not come to this restaurant!!!

It's not just about having an elegant and classy decoration, it's also important to have a similar attitude. I had reserved a place for a birthday dinner at this restaurant at 6:30 p.m. Firstly we were made to wait outside while it was freezing, then even when we said we were booked we were asked to stand outside for another ten minutes. A waiter then accompanied us to our table, and before we could even sit down, we were told that we must leave before 8:30 p.m. With each dish that was served on our table, we were reminded again to leave at 8:30 p.m. This happened even though other couples who had arrived at the same time as us had not received a deadline. Our waiter, every time he passed by our table, looked at his watch and moved around the restaurant shouting, so that we had a headache at the end of the meal. Our pizzas were served half burnt with a hair in them. Once the desserts were placed on the table, we were told to eat them in 5 minutes and leave as quickly as possible. Then we were thrown the bill on the table. When we pointed this out to the manager, he insisted that our 8:30pm departure had been communicated to us when booking, which was absolutely not true, otherwise we would not have gone to eat there. He claimed to have recordings that proved it, but he refused to show them to us. In summary, our anniversary was ruined, we felt like we were just fillers (just there to fill a hole in their booking grid and turnover) rather than respected customers. Additionally, we were called liars. If you want to eat in Montreux, there are several dozen restaurants more respectable than this one.

Very very disappointed with this place. The waiters behaved in a very unpleasant manner. The reception was more than catastrophic, in addition to the lack of respect on the part of certain servers. Good food and drink but some staff is unfriendly.

The single star was for the restaurant’s atmosphere. The server was obnoxious and lacked manners when it came to dealing with tourists. Another male employee (with bun) communicated how our tour included a pri fixed lunch with soup or salad. The first server literally barked soup or salad. Maybe this restaurant is only comfortable with Caucasian customers. To ALL Indians visiting, AVOID this restaurant at all costs. The fillet tasted day old and was over cooked, the pizza tasted as if it was undercooked and the pasta tasted like it was microwaved. All in all, I’ve had better hospital food. If you’re white, you will have a better experience!

I ordered a small salad as a starter. On the card clearly marked 8fr/12fr. (started on the main course). I asked and they said there was no such thing as a small mixed salad 🙈. In short... the waiters were nice enough, but they didn't even ask if I wanted water for my little dog. Little things that make the difference.

We found the restaurant quite intimidating because of the staff. It took at least five minutes after we were seated before someone came and gave us the menu books. And by the way, the staff only placed the books on our table and left. The place was understandably busy, so I can forgive the long time it took for our food to be served. So, while waiting, some of us wanted to surf the internet. When we asked one of the staff for the wifi password, the staff kept saying something in French, and it felt like we were bring brushed off. I wanted to ask again, but the staff really seemed preoccupied. Food was good, though. We loved the pizza. The price was really expensive for us, but I guess that's the usual price for such a restaurant. It just hurt to pay that much with the kind of service we received.

Our experience at 1890 Trattoria in Montreux was simply lovely. We liked it so much that we visited the restaurant on several occasions. The food was exceptional, with delicious dishes and fresh ingredients. The attention of the waiters was excellent, always attentive and kind. The restaurant is impeccably furnished and maintained, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of options and the quality of the food is unquestionable. We recommend it 100%! With Italian cuisine, it is impossible to be disappointed!

Excellent restaurant, from the atmosphere, to the dinner, to the service I can only compliment all the staff! We had a burger with fries and a lamb with vegetables and both were delicious and more than filling. Perfect value for money. Thanks so much for the evening!

Nice design and great location, but unfortunately the food and service were just average

We had booked for a birthday but surprise, when we arrived we were not only very unwelcome, but the reservation was not taken into account even though the call was made well a week in advance . The service was excessively long, we had to wait well over an hour to receive our orders. A chaotic service, the waiters as friendly as prison doors and when we expressed our dissatisfaction, we had neither the right to an apology nor a commercial gesture for all the inconveniences caused, we were even told that this didn't wait that long. In conclusion: if you want to eat before 10 p.m., come for 7 p.m. and if you want a smile from the waiters, don't get your hopes up.

I am Korean. It's really delicious. I ordered pasta and steak and it was good. Even though the staff doesn't look good, they are friendly friends. I recommend it. If you ask me to recommend red wine, I'll be happy to give it to you. I like that there is no additional break time.

On our first trip to Montreux, we were recommended this place by our AirBnB host. And we enjoyed our food here. The meal - tasty, the service - very good, the location - perfect!

Disastrous experience. I ordered a Carpaccio, it arrived as hard as a rock because it was still frosty. After pointing this out to the waiter, he tells me that he is having the plate redone. 15 minutes later he comes back with a new plate but I realize that the bottom is lukewarm. When I lifted a few salad leaves I noticed that the meat was very dark and therefore visibly reheated in the microwave. I strongly recommend this place.

Ordered a profiterole and they served it knowingly it was rock hard so they gave me 2 rock hard ones to compensate.. I don’t care if they gave 5 it’s no good if you can’t even eat one. The waiter was a cheerful chap so we called the owner and he said sorry the oven is playing up. And that was it a sorry. Obviously half hearted. I was astonished how knowingly they can serve a dish which deserved the bin. So after accepting it was a piece of stone on a plate they still charged full price which was shockingly rude. Well they can keep the change and be warned of the cheek.

Very nice restaurant in Montreux. The setting is really nice. We arrived just before the kitchen closed but the waiters and waitresses took great care of their customers and were extremely efficient. The plating is impeccable and the dishes delicious! We had a pleasant evening.

It's too expensive for what it serves, I wouldn't go back. We ate spaguetti carbonara, pizza, lasagna and risotto. Everything was ok, nothing major. It's not worth the investment. Standard Montreux service, nothing exceptional. Nice ambient music, beautiful and friendly place in general. Well located. Restaurant was not full and the food took a long time to arrive. At least there's food all day, the kitchen doesn't close!

The food was good, the setting nice and the service pretty good. I liked the lamb shank and the tuna tataki. The service was a little slow and lacked a little warmth. Too bad the strawberry mojito didn't taste like strawberries.

We were turned away from the restaurant at 11:20am. We're supposed to come back in 20 minutes. So done. When we sat down we were given the menu cards to choose from. We were all alone in the restaurant and had long since made our choice. The waiters, however, sat together and ignored our hand signals. After waiting for 20-25 minutes we got up and left. Very uncomfortable.
