4U Indian Mexican in Interlaken

Food is fresh and tasty. I really did not expect such quality indian food at Swiss. But they provide best quaility food. I went for 2 days for dinner and chose to take their unlimited buffet (Thali) which gives you roti, 2 sabji, daal, rice, sweet, salad, Chaach.. Its really better choice to go than buying one sabji for 15 or 20 CHF. Hosts are super friendly with all they make you feel comfortable. They do not rush you out cause its closing time. Overall rating - 5 Food quality - 5 Food Taste - 5 Cleanliness - 4 (Could be little more clean but what they provide is still acceptable ) Staff behavior - 5 NOTE: If you are only veg eating person then this is trustworthy and must try place.

Would never go again…. Not worth the hype… I have seen frozen idlis served for the first time in my life …. There are many other indian places in Interlaken … check them out… me and my sister dined at your restaurant on 26-12-2023. By gods grace I can remember very well …

This place is outstanding! If you are looking for authentic tasting Indian vegetarian food with Jain options, this is the place to go to! It’s a no ado place with warm, delicious and most importantly authentic tasting dishes! I am picky when it comes to food, but this one was truly outstanding! The staff were very friendly and recommended that we order the portions we feel we need at the beginning and order more as needed as opposed to the multiple other restaurants where we were told the portions were just enough for a person and we ended up wasting some of the food. We were visiting on a day when we observed a festival that included some food restrictions. The restaurant had Jain food options that avoid onion and garlic which worked perfectly to end a long day of sightseeing coupled with fasting!

Customer service was good but the paranthas they served were Haldirams frozen parantha. We had a take away and expected freshly cooked parantha for the price we’ve paid. Won’t recommend people to get paranthas atleast from this place as it is cheaper to buy it from the grocery store.

We went to visit Switzerland. Our entire family is vegetarian. It is very difficult for us to get vegetarian food. But we saw that a pure veg restaurant was found in Interlaken We were very pleased to see them and the food and chaat was very good and the staff there were very lovely. The entire restaurant was nicely clean and the toilets were also very clean. Whenever we get a chance to visit Switzerland again, we will go to Chotiwala again to eat highly recommended

After three days of searching pure vegetarian food in Interlaken finally found chotivala restaurant.They are Perfectionist in indian vegetarian food feels like i was in india the food was very flavorful service was awesome even the owner was very polite and friendly will come back every day for lunch i will be here in interlaken..i will highly recommend this restaurant for all the vegetarian food lovers..Especial shout out to the lady server who recommend us the best out of their menu …and last but not the least is their reasonable price

I had amazing Indian spicy Kadai Paneer and Masala Chai..The hospitality was amazing..Had such a fun chat with the two friendly ladies..The owner is super nice..she even got me the Interlaken city map and told me the best bus routes to visit both the lakes..Lovely place..Highly recommend

Chotiwala restaurant in Interlaken is one & only restaurant who serves pure vegetarian food. Taste of food is mind blowing. All dishes are equally good. Ambiance of restaurant is too good. Owners are so nice & polite. I personally recommends Chotiwala restaurant for Indian vegetarian tourists. I don’t have words for this restaurant it’s awesome. Keep it up Thanks Sonia & Mukesh Jain

Great place if you want to have indian food in Interlaken. We had dinner here. Food tasted really nice.

Nice food and lovely ambience. Though a bit expensive, but service was good and staff was very courteous. We had parathas, pizzas and masala tea and it was really good in taste.

The food was ok, nothing special. Room very barely furnished. The portions are far too small for the price. Side dishes are not included in the menu.

I won't go again. There was no rice with the menu, but this was not informed by the staff. Once we had the food on the table, we had to order additional rice. Small portion, just enough for one scoop. Taste ok. The positive was that they had various vegan dishes.

The worst experience I’ve ever had. Me and my wife are strict vegetarians and we’re travelling across Switzerland visiting various different attractions. We pre-planned our itinerary and decided to visit this ‘pure veg’ restaurant in Interlaken. After a long journey and a lot of walking we reached this restaurant and saw that there were two restaurants (Delhi Darbar & Pure Veg Chotiwala) with a joint kitchen, one which offered meat and one that was ‘pure veg’. Absolutely disgusted at the owners as when we asked where the pure veg restaurant was and whether the kitchen was separate, they directed us towards the restaurant which was literally a curtain away and told us that the kitchen was not joint. We then entered into the ‘pure veg’ restaurant and saw the same waiters and owner. We couldn’t believe that the owner lied to us in the face just to skip through the curtain of the meat restaurant and serve food at the ‘pure veg’ restaurant. Us being startled once again asked them whether the kitchen was shared to which they then said that the food is separate and that they have a separate chef. We decided to not believe them after already being lied to and now are heading back on a 2hr 30min journey back to Zurich. I request the restaurant to amend their name as many others like us will make this journey for absolutely no reason. Better to pack food with you guys!

Fantastic thali with fresh and delicious options. Unlimited refills of roti and naan, well cooked paneer and aloo, yummy daal, fresh curd. Perfectly hot and fresh gulab jamun with the right texture. Staff were friendly, welcoming and provided excellent service. The place has a great vibe with open floor plan and desi decor. Experienced an impromptu live music performance from local street artists.

I visited Indian Pure Vegetarian Chotivala, and while the food was decent, I couldn't help but notice that the portion sizes were quite small for the price. In hindsight, opting for the buffet might have been a better choice. Overall, it was an okayish dining experience.

Good Indian restaurant. There's a choice between buffet (25 CHF) and a la carte. The buffet is quite worth it, there are 4 "curry/sauce" types of dishes (paneer, chickpeas, potatoes, and one more soupy), and you get unlimited naan / roti. Service is very friendly. Lots of vegan options.

Best restaurant in interlaken. Authentic taste I literally thought for a sec that I am in India because of delicious and authentic dishes.Staff is so humble and polite. We have tried unlimited buffet and it was so much worth of money. Must visit there if you want good taste in budget🤩

We were in interlaken for a whole week and decided to try Chotivala as menu says North Indian and South Indian dishes. When we tried to order South Indian dishes the owner insisted on getting buffet only . And he did that other customers as well who came after us. The buffet was not great variety wise or taste wise. Only good thing was he gave Roti and Nan freshly made as needed. Name Chotivala is deceiving it has no connection to famous Chotivala of Haridvar. Only benefit to this restaurant is it is pure vegetarian. So if you have no problem in eating a mixed restaurant Spice India or India village is a better choice.

The vegetarian buffet was very tasty indeed! Great value and service as well. Would recommend to anybody looking for vegetarian food in or around Interlaken. They also appeared to have a good selection of vegan dishes on the menu.

We were glad we found this place for good indian vegetarian food!! The vegetarian buffet was perfect after a long day of walking. Very competitive price wise compared to so many Indian (so called) restaurants near by who try to trick In believing they are Indian restaurants. I would definitely recommend Chotiwala for those looking for proper Indian vegetarian food! It’s next to (within) Delhi Darbar restaurant!!

The Best place in Interlaken for Indian food or pure veg food. I regret to have not found this place at the beginning of the stay, went to Spice Village earlier, found a piece of non veg in our veg food.

Nice place with vegan food from the east of India. Dishes have a rich taste, a very well balanced of spices. Panir Masala is my favourite dish in this place 😋

Would be very positively surprised by the food!!! After many disappointments in CH, the first thing I did was eat vegan-vegetarian food properly. Only to be recommended. Very good food.

Good food at relatively reasonable prices in what is a simple family restaurant. The owner is very welcoming and shows the buffet options and a la carte. We went for the buffet which offers sufficient choices when you've been traveling around all day. Shame the dosas are no more.

The place claims to be pure vegetarian but shared kitchen with the next door delhi darbar restaurant which is not vegetarian. It under the same management so all in all just a different dining space with a common kitchen. The pure veg title could be misleading to some people.

Avoid this place. You get much more tastier and better priced Indian food in Interlaken. They advertise that they have dosa but they have stopped making. The buffet is priced at 26CHF which is fair but the dishes are limited (a lot of dishes if you include pappad, pickle, raita, salad etc). Just to add to the count they even had pasta.! The food taste was below par. The owner will convince you to take the buffet. In the ala carte menu every dish is priced at 25 CHF which is insane. Better restaurants are Spicy Lounge (you also get South Indian here), Maharaja, Welcome India king which offer better taste, options and prices.

Not good. We have ordered paratha but it seems like it was frozen haldiram aloo kulcha. They just had roasted and served. Please don't try paratha's there.

We were lucky to find this wonderful place to have pure vegetarian restaurant chotivala,neet and clean and the food so delicious,specially paneer amirtsari masala and dal makhni with lacha parantha and stuff parantha it’s so yummy and soft freshly recommend to go this place

This place is gem of Interlaken. Warm welcoming with great ambiance, good choice of tasty food and service is outstanding. My favourites are veg thali and cassata ice cream. Staff and management’s friendly attentive service made our visit memorable.

I am glad to have found this restaurant through Google reviews. It is an authentic Indian food restaurant with options to choose either the buffet style (reasonably priced compared to Swiss menu prices) or from the menu. The food and curries are prepared fresh and are flavorful. The restaurant is located in the Interlaken Central area, which is very convenient. If you are in the area, definitely give it a try and hope you will enjoy the food.

Being strict vegetarians, we had been craving for Satvik food in Switzerland and voila, we found Chotivala in Interlaken! The owner, Mr. Goldy, is extremely helpful and warm. The food was fresh and delicious and we relished it completely! We made it a point to return to the restro for the second time. If you are in Suisse and want Jain food, Chotiwala is the answer 😊

Food was okay. Nothing great to be honest but not bad either. We have been living in Switzerland for 2 years now and generally Indian restaurants in Interlaken are kind of hole in the wall kind of places (majority of them). They had a dinner all you can eat buffet which was I would say good enough. They were for example serving daal, rice, veg Indian style pasta, one paneer dish, one vegetable dish, raita, chaas (butter milk), gulab jamun and breads (Butter/Garlic Naan, Tandoori Roti, etc) in their buffet which was not very expensive given Swiss prices. Very low spices and flavors in all dishes, would almost feel like you are eating at home. But again less flavors also means nothing was great or really delicious. The service was really nice and homely including all the people. They had nice ambience going with Hindi bhajan playing, kind of went with the pure vegetarian thing. Overall okayish experience. If looking for pure vegetarian place (which won’t find too many in Switzerland), this is a good option in Interlaken.

Lovely food and very welcoming staff..excellent service. If one wants to have food like home it’s worth visiting this pure vegetarian restaurant. Price is very reasonable and mainly it’s probably first pure vegetarian restaurant in Interlaken Switzerland. I strongly recommend to everyone to visit this place and enjoy food like home 🤩

Great place to enjoy authentic Indian food. We had thali and Idly. Idly and sambar tasted yummy and thali had variety of curries and rotis. The Owner is friendly ,always smiling and makes you feel home away from home. All the best to you

Awesome food. The taste was superb & at first it looked like an unlimited plate was costly but the food was amazing and it was totally worth it! In the end, it didn't feel costly at all. We had our food in the chotivala pure veg restaurant in Interlaken and first of all were pleasantly surprised to find a pure veg authentic Indian restaurant in Swiss , some of our members are pure jain food eater and the owner was kind enough to make special jain food at the last minute , the food was awesome , hospitality was superb and ambience was good Certainly recommended for anyone wanting to have pure veg food in Interlaken

We just stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around in Interlaken. Being a pure vegetarian, we just inclined to step and check out the menu. We ended up eating lunch and dinner both at this place and this has become our go to place whenever we are going to be in this beautiful town. Food qualify was like home made food. Owner of the restaurant, his wife and their staff...they were all very wonderful.

My partner and I recently had an amazing dining experience at Chotivala Interlaken. As vegetarians, we were delighted to find a restaurant that offered pure vegetarian food with a variety of options. We decided to try their thali, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The thali was a big serving, perfect for two people to share. Every item on the thali was full of flavor and expertly prepared. The portions were generous, and we left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied. The staff was attentive and friendly, providing excellent service throughout our meal. We highly recommend it for a delicious , authentic Indian taste and fulfilling dining experience.

The food was really tasty, and is a good mix of South Indian and North Indian food. I ordered the thali and it was delicious. My wife ordered their dosa and really liked it. I would probably rate it higher than all the other Indian restaurants that we tried during our stay in Interlaken. Highly recommended if you are craving Indian food while in Switzerland.

The food quantity is very less as compared to the price charged of 30franks for veg thali, it's not even enough for 1 person, restaurant should increase the qty of chapati from 1 to 4 for this price. Although taste of food is fine .

The only pure vegetarian Indian restaurant that one can find in Interlaken. This is within walking distance of Interlaken West. We found it luckily and were so happy to have made the decision to have family dinner ! I would highly recommend this in comparison with other "so called Indian restaurants" in the vicinity. This restaurant opened less than 10 days ago and hence not many people know about it and even jf they do , they may not tell you due to competition against pre-existing restaurants. The owner himself is pure vegetarian Indian origin and that itself should be sufficient for anyone wanting a perfect Indian veg meal. Highly recommended!!!!

A super Indian restaurant with extraordinary and very very friendly service. I really had a good time there, after a tiring day. A must try is the samosa and Samosa Chat. Simply yum. Parking tip: there is an underground Parking place nearby. Parkhaus Zentrum Interlaken.

Lovely hosts. Authentic and freshly cooked food. Punjabi Thali felt like home cooked meal. Best South Indian food in the city.....they make amazing Dosa's with fresh chutnies and sambar.

Wow wonderful dosas this place has. Very nicely cooked, very balanced flavours and a very good eating place. Authentic south Indian food. Go for it if you are hungry and looking for indian food. Hostess is very polite and strikes good conversations. NOTE- Some of the other indian restaurants in the way will sabotage your plan and will try to sway you towards their place by saying that chotivala is closed. Ignore them and follow google.

Hidden gem of Interlaken. This is a must place to go for Indian cuisine. The samosa chaat and Mysore masala dosa were just awesome 😋 And the service provided by the hostess makes this place special. The whole experience was great. Highly recommended 😊

We were searching for a place to eat and we passed through a lot of Indian restaurants. My daughter (2years) happened to click something on the phone and we came across Chotiwala. Just the name Chotiwala brought back memories from Haridwar. We decided to go for it and we happened to be their first customer. We had the North Indian thali and it was delicious. Since we live in the Netherlands, our expectations from Indian cuisine are very low. But here we were having amazing food as good as food in India . Plus points for the thali with rava kesari and Chaas.. Anyone going to Interlaken, do have a meal here
