Alhambar in Genève

My experience at the Alhambar in Geneva was a nightmare. The (visibly cross-border) staff seemed more interested in their phones than in the customers, and they even dared to inflate the bill with unjustified prices. The food was so mediocre that I had to restrain myself from leaving a more scathing review. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to waste your money and your appetite.

We had a delicious dinner here. Few plates but well prepared and tasty. Service is nice too. The only thing, if I may say, the space is too big with the risk of being not so intimate despite the warm lights and dark interiors.

In a few words: perfect for spending a quiet evening with friends - no music that is too loud, just light background music that can only be heard when you pay attention to it and does not interfere with talking to each other as guests. - the food menu does not offer a hundred different options, but they offer some very diverse dishes which are always excellent! And the drinks/cocktail menu is very extensive. - the service is fast and the staff is very friendly

Don't leave your coat on the hanger if a waiter asks you, I've been robbed, and I haven't even received a gesture from the restaurant!

Very poorly received, 6 tables free and everything is “occupied”!

Very pleasant surprise, recommended by a friend and despite some comments, which fortunately I was not influenced by! And I am delighted, excellent hearty cuisine at very affordable prices. Glass of proseco well served! Very good service and warm welcome by a charming lady and the waiter Luca. I highly recommend this place, go there with your eyes closed, really. He deserves to be known.

I came with friends to this bar on February 12 for brunch. We were shocked by the bartender's inappropriate behavior. In fact, he made indecent propositions and made insistent looks towards me which made me very uncomfortable. Behavior surely due to the alcohol he consumed during his service. Bar to avoid, it’s a shame!!!

Very bad experience: Friday evening, surprisingly few people. And for good reason ... Act 1: we order two glasses of the wine of the month at 9 francs each (spleen chase). At this price, no question of getting 3 peanuts Act 2: we ask for 6 small puff pastries for 18 francs. 4 arrive. We are surprised, the waiter explains to us that they have not corrected the menu and leaves... We insist and eventually, the owner agrees to bring us the two missing puff pastries but really the hard. Act 3: comes the bill and the glass of wine is quietly increased to 10 francs. New complaint and the invoice is corrected. 0 commercial gesture, 0 excuses. Just pitiful 😡

Great time in a great place, everything was perfect. I had the rum-kiwi cocktail, original and really good. Special mention for the quality of service! THANKS

A room that has remained closed for too long, beautiful place

Clearly a smart place for afterwork drinks. The spot is very stylish and lively (there was a DJ when we went). However, the service and food were terrible. After having been offered a wide selection of wines, the waiter came to us saying that there was only one available. For our second round, they came with a second wine, which tasted really average (clearly not acceptable for a 10.- Fr. wine glass). Unfortunately, i didnt had a chance to say something as i was in the middle of a professional meeting. Last but not least, the snack that we ordered came in ridiculous portions and were fried in an old vegetable oil. Yak... won't go back...

Nice modern restaurant for dinner, great cocktails too. The sharing platter is a good option if you're not too hungry and want to share something. I'd recommend the beef burger which is cooked to perfection.

Magnificent place with its navy blue velvet benches and its bar. Top.

Volunteer servers but clearly insufficient. More than 15 minutes to order a beer each time is unfortunate. Servers who give the impression of wanting to do the best but without doing the essentials. Put out without any real flexibility even though we had spent a lot of money. In short, a bar that pays more attention to its image than to the service.

Nice place, with high ceiling and big windows.. the service was very good and the brunch simply tasteful! Please note the entrance is from the back of the main street/building!

Fantastic bar — a great place to discover new and exciting cocktails. Love love love the Neroli cocktail and my hubby had a whisky cocktail which was amazing. I highly recommend everyone to check out Alhambra. We had the Alhambar burger, fish and chips and the verveine tiramisu. All so yummy!!!!!!

Fabulous cocktail in a place where you feel good...

A truly special atmosphere, a style that harks back to the 50s but with a splendid design, many cocktails to try. The house tea is also delicious!

After many years I was back at the Alhambra to see a concert of the duo Aeroflot that was part of les Athenees festival. The theater has been restored and it is really beautiful : Really worthwhile going to !

This is a pretty funky place for a few drinks. Usually a good atmosphere, some music, affordable drinks and pretty busy. I really like the vibe and decorum, brings some speakeasy vibe to me...

I went with some friends for brunch. There are NO gluten free, dairy free choices. It is unacceptable than in 2020 a restaurant does not provide in their menu alternatives (almost every other restaurant/bar in town has them). Moreover, since I could not eat the meals on the menu, I asked for a fruit salad. the kitchen accepted. I received a small bowl with 1 kiwi and another fruit finally chopped, and they charged me 13chf for it. Total rip off. It is a shame because the location is nice, the service is ok, it has a big potential but they should definitely review their menu and their prices. Good luck for the future.

For a mini brunch on a Sunday under covid. Not enough distance between tables. Round table much too small for eating, you can barely place the knife on the edge of the plate without it falling to the ground. Good brunch plate but with not exceptional products but at 22 chf per plate there is nothing to say. Coffees offered by the waitress (boss?) for the remark on the smallness of the tables. Nice. A note for the menu and brunch menus: there are eggs in the plural even though you only serve one egg (poached, scrambled, etc.) on the plate.

I had warm and professional service, even with a mask, the waitress with the pretty tattoo on her back smiled with her eyes.... I felt at home...almost in bed. So much happiness ❤

Went for brunch and it wasn’t worth it. The food was ok but the the servers kept on forgetting parts of the order. Not worth the price unfortunately.

Cozy bar, refined aesthetics, very welcoming staff

Came for Sunday brunch, almost left because the menu was very limited but decided to just get the English breakfast and get breakfast over with. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The servers were great, food came out pretty fast. Will probably go back if I’m in the area around breakfast time.

a millenium 5, probably more like a 4 in realy life, because food is closer to bar food than restaurant food. That said it is nicely done, burgers were very nice and table around took sharing dishes which were looking great too. I think food could be 15% cheaper and wine probably 30% (10CHF for a small glass of an average Rioja is too much compared to similar places in Geneva). Service was extremely nice and attentive to our every needs. Good ambiance, nice music. Definitely a good place to start the night.

Nice place. But terrible reception. The bar is supposed to close at 2am. We arrive at 11:30 p.m. And a not particularly friendly waitress tells us that the bar is going to close. While nothing is marked anywhere.

Smashing brunch! Great atmosphere. Alhambra has been refurbished beautifully, and we found the welcome warm and the service both friendly and correct.

Absolutely worth discovering!! Magnificent setting, superb decor, warm welcome, super nice menu! I even found several gluten-free and dairy-free dishes! A rare thing in Geneva... This is a metamorphosis that is worth the detour! Bravo and thank you for bringing this unique place back to life.

The place is beautiful, spacious, with large windows, high ceilings but the food is not good. Recently the bread served was still frozen! Average welcome!
