Café de Paris in Genève

Excellent, as usual. Perfect, impeccable service.

A little noisy, when the restaurant is full, but quickly forgotten while enjoying... :)

Busy place. ordered the classic steak frite. meat was chewy. fries were delicious. waiters very busy. nice ambiance as the place is packed.

The meal was OK, but definitely didn't justify the asking price. I think there are many other addresses in Geneva offering just as good for less, or better for the same price. The tables are very close to each other, you cannot make reservations.

Best meat we have ever eaten. We drive almost 300 km to be able to eat this entrecote. That says it all.

Unfortunately a little spoiled by the noise as well as the tables being very close together, you can barely get up without touching the neighbors' table. Summer with the outdoor terrace is better.

This restaurant offers a unique dish. Steak steak with café de Paris butter, matchstick fries and salad. The meat served on a metal dish and cut into pieces is kept hot in its butter. A treat for the taste buds and the eyes. To which must be added the professionalism and kindness of the staff. I can only recommend.

Food is amazing and the vibe of the place brings you back in time. Courtesy of staff is remarkable. Strongly recommend but reserve in advance to make sure you find a spot is always fully booked:)

An amazing must visit when in Geneva!

Here you feel like you are in Paris. Absolutely cool place with charm. A reservation is recommended. There is only one menu and makes the whole thing easy. Perfect place to escape from everyday life.

I had never tried it but was a little disappointed with the quality. For 45f, the fries were soft, the meat was blue on a mountain of butter which ended up burning depending on the machine on the table. And an additional portion of meat costs 39fr, an excessive price in my opinion for meat that leaves something to be desired. I would have given it a 3.5/5 but I don't think I'll return.

I do not think that it is possible in any way to find a taste similar to the taste of the steak offered by Café de Paris. This secret mixture, which still attracts everyone to it, will remain the unique taste of the sauce accompanying the steak. Restaurant is often crowded at dinner time and requires advance reservation. Top-notch employees. Always has special atmosphere.

once again, classic restaurant, perfect, courteous service. entre cote, fries alumettes, salad first class. I have been coming to enjoy the Geneva Motor Show for 60 years.

They serve only one dish - entrecote with their famous butter sauce and fries. The restaurant is populated with a myriad of small tables that can be put together for larger parties, but it fills up fast. Sit down, order your beverage and how well you want your steak. They bring a small salad, and then the main course, a tray of the beef lathered in the seasoned butter placed a top a chaffing warmer to keep the butter warm. Best to order medium/medium well and enjoy the beef and let it warm over a bit if you prefer it slightly more well done. A classic.

The atmosphere is good compared to my rating. The only thing is that the establishment is very full and there is little room to move around. But it's very good.

Delicious meat and sauce, fries, wine, toblerone mousse. A faultless one for my part. Noisy and crowded restaurant with a Parisian brasserie atmosphere.

I think the food is dished up and served unhygienically, which is a surprise in this day and age. Found a long black hair in my salad, which I reported, and the waiter could not care less. I could see the manager was informed, and when we asked him his thoughts, he could not care less either. The steak was swimming in butter which just made it all super greasy. Very expensive for what you get and there are many better restaurants in the area.

Unique and legendary atmosphere of a specialized brewery.

Fantastic salad, fresh-baked rolls, streak & shoestring fries place with just that on the menu, plus delicious desert and drinks. The steak and herb butter gets heated in front of you on a burner.

Recieved well without a booking, the waiter was very pleasent and interactive. It was a set menu, steak, salad and fries. The salad was delicious until we found long black hair!!! We immediately reported this and the only response we could get was "its not mine", the salad was served from a large bowl on the bar, very unhygienic. The steak and the fries were great. The bill came and no mention of the ruined salad, we mentioned this to the manager on the way out who did not really seem to care. We were ushered out! With so many venues available can they afford to treat their customers in this manner, especially with only a few customers in the restaurant.

This superb restaurant serve only one and the same dish since 1930 a entrecote with cafe de paris souce do not miss the great meal. Located only outside the Geneva central station.

This restaurant located near the Cornavin station in Geneva is a poor copy of the Relais de Venise in Paris Porte Maillot (the first and creator of the original entrecôte recipe) and the Entrecôte restaurants. The sauce is not good, the meat average and the fries dried out... All for 45 francs with a green salad as an ordinary starter! Fortunately the staff is very attentive and helpful, but it's a shame that the quality of this unique menu leaves so much to be desired!

Excellent meat and the Café de Paris always at the top

Food was okay, it's a well-rehearsed, fast process. Unfortunately the occupancy is too high, which isn't great considering the noise level. The high occupancy also means that tables have to be moved in order to get up or get to the seat. Unfortunately, a lot of it is designed to maximize profits.

Everything is of good quality at the Café de Paris!! The sauce of the same name accompanies excellent tender meat, fries, salad, desserts and friendly service. In short, you will never be disappointed... I do... Paris!!

This is THE one or one of the best entrecôte I've eaten! And a good lemon tartlet for dessert, it was impeccable! Hats off to the employees too who keep up a hell of a pace! A very lively and warm atmosphere. Maybe a little noisy for some...? But that didn't stop me from chatting easily without having to shout :-) THANKS ! I'll be back! 😉

It's been a long time since I've been back to this restaurant. 4 guests including an American. Salad is no longer served in a salad bowl. Meat and sauce still good but portions smaller than I remembered. Few people and quiet atmosphere. Decor unchanged.

Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait 20 minutes. The head waiter was very unfriendly. The service served the wrong red wine and didn't even change it when requested. The salad was sloppy. The meat is of poor quality. So does the butter used for the sauce. Rip-off for tourists.

Brasserie with just one menu Tightly seated, with lots of charm, you eat beef fillet and fries in herb butter, Café de Paris. There is a green salad as a starter. The food is excellent!

The charm of tradition, the stable quality, the impeccable service have made this place a mythical point for decades. Other....very modest portions, quite high prices....or we're used to it and we come back or we don't like it...so, we were back last night, what a pleasure to find this establishment again. Very good steak and fries. It would be necessary to add 1 or 2 sweet treats to the gourmet coffee given the addition of 68 CHF per person, a little high it seems to me. -1 butter steak + fries (fries as desired). -1 bottle of Swiss red -1 gourmet coffee not having seen the bill, it may be the bottle that is to blame. Restaurant to recommend.

Highly recommend this place if you were a visiting Geneva Switzerland. Antique decor, excellent services, the steak that was cooked to perfection, everything was an absolute art.

I have been coming here for over 5 years. The steak-frites are excellent. You can request up to 3 servings of fries as part of your meal. Fast and kind servers.

This is the original and where it all started. The sauce remains a family secret and many have tried to copy it. I loved my meal here.

Typical bistrot, serving always the same fare, year after year, (something like the Mousetrap theatrical play in London). Nice atmosphere but very cramped. You can barely fit between your seat and the table, but this is part of the package, I guess. Anyway, for someone visiting Geneva, it's a nice dining experience. Make sure to make a reservation before.

My favorite restaurant. The food is simply incredibly delicious… and it always tastes heavenly.

I am visiting this place since 1961. The quality is good. However I miss the genuine “salade vert et frites” from the old days. The red dole was excellent. A pity a large party was very noisy. Staff excellent.

Came for the buttered steak - tip top standard CS. Had tried their ice cream dessert too w genuine choc sauce. Good atmosphere.

Disappointed. Overcooked meat upon receipt of the dish and even more so later because of the wait for the accompanying plate to place the meat with fries, it arrived at least 5 minutes later. The fries have lost their splendor. Very oily café de Paris sauce. Quality and quantity are no longer what they once were. Not to mention the stressed servers who are not attentive to customer calls. Poorly organized. Not great service with the wait to pay much too long even though there weren't many people left.

This restaurant is an “institution”. Never disappointed. Generous and high quality. Friendly staff, fast service. Very lively! Be careful to book as it is very busy.

An old-style Restaurant near Main Station with only Entrecôte Café de Paris et Pommes frites as the menu (that for many decades). Who loves this authentic style of meat food will love it. Nothing for vegetarian food-lovers. We certainly will come back when we will be in Geneva again.

We went because they don't close at noon but they only have 1 dish. meat, potatoes and sauce. little meat. we love it and for tourists

We ordered entrecôtes, the meat was still fresh and the butter sauce was still hard. I didn't know that it was prepared in advance and just reheated for the customers, the waitress did not want to reheat my meat for me, telling me that there is a warmer for that.

Excellent steak. The only downside is that they want to put too many people in the restaurant. I am well aware that it is the empty seats that cost the most....but still

There is only one dish on the menu, interesting concept. The service is very professional and friendly. The atmosphere is very pleasant, like in Paris, just a bit too loud and too cramped, I prefer quiet places. As a starter there was a salad, it tasted very good, I thought the dressing was delicious. We also liked the meat, but it wasn't enough for me. The fries were dry, thin and way too much, I hardly ate any of them and an alternative to them wouldn't be bad, not everyone likes the fries. Wine tasted ok, was a bit too acidic.

One of the best café de Paris entrecôtes with fries I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, excellent taste and the café de Paris exceptional. Absolutely worth trying.
